He had yet to examine it because he would need the help of his alternate to do that. He could`t wait forever, so its now or never. Sam walked over to his look alike."I need your help with a autopsy"Sam said. "I will help you since its just the two of us"Sam said with a grin on his face. They both walked in silence to the morg and that was enough to get Sam scared stiff. (ISS Rosenante- Morg- ACMO Ensign (jg) Sam Lopez- Day 13- 2205) They both went to were the body was and opened the case and out came the frozen body of tom Jackson."Can you identify this man?"Sam said. Sam was frozen he had no idea that the body had been recovered."This would be the body of Lt.Tom Jackson."Sam said with no feeling what so ever. "Your correct and do you know how this man died"Sam said in a playful tone. The other Sam just look at him with anger in his eyes. "I am a doctor, not a school child."Sam said loudly."I wish to be treated as such"Sam said. "Not by what i saw in that monster of a sickbay"Sam said."Don`t they teach you any ethics as a doctor"Sam said. "I don't need to tell you anything unless told different by my CMO."Sam said to his 'nice' double. "If she was a real CMO she would not have ran away like a coward"Sam said matter of factly. "I don't need to take this i am leaving!"Sam said as he started to storm out. "Sure walk out just like your coward of a CMO"Sam yelled after him. Sam was left with the body and a autopsy to finish. (Reply by none) (posted by shawn) ------------------------- (USS Rosenante- Jackson's Quarters- CO Captain Salid (MU) & COPS Lt. Tom Jackson - Day 13 - 1900) Despite their agreement, it was apparent that the Prime Universe Salid wasn't taking any chances with him being dishonest. It was for the best, after all, if he hadn't wanted to get home so badly, he would have tried to take command of this ship or to free his own vessel. He'd been thinking about that possibility anyway since he couldn't be certain to trust himself. This latest jaunt was to visit Tomas Jackson, the one native to this universe. In his universe, Tom Jackson had been his friend, although Salid had been very demanding of his friend. The items that he had wished to give to Jackson were in the small secured case that one of the security guards was carrying. He was farthest away, perhaps in an obvious attempt to defend the contents of the case. It made Ahmed smile somewhat to know that he was apparently at least a little feared in this universe as well as his own. Finally the small detail reached the quarters that belonged to this universe's tom Jackson. Ahmed reached out and pressed the door chime and steeled himself for the meeting that he had requested. Tom rose and walked to the door and said "enter". He had not been expecting any visitors. By nature, Tom was a loner. When the door opened and he saw the MU Salid to say he was startled would be putting it mildly. Jackson still had not learned what had happened to his MU counterpart. Stepping back a bit, T.J. remembered his manners and said "Please come in Sir". He looked at the Security detail and ordered them to "please stay outside". The detail commander replied "Yes Sir" handed Jackson a small case and allowed the door to be closed. The two men eyed each other for a bit. The MU Captain was not that different physically from his captain. Yet this Salid radiated a hard edge. "Please sit down Captain. Would you like something to drink?" Jackson asked. "Do you have any whiskey?" he asked. Tom replicated himself a coffee, dark and strong. "Sir, what can I do for you?" Jackson asked. He was curious about his counterpart. Tom was experiencing a sense of doom that he could not explain. "Remember when I told you that I had something for you that belonged to your counterpart?" Salid asked him as he assumed a seat. The items I was speaking of are located inside that container that the security officer handed you. "Go ahead open it." he gestured as Tom returned with a cup of coffee and a tumbler of good whiskey. This Salid, not being a Muslim, because that particular religion was outlawed, took the drink and took a big swallow. He smiled as he smacked his lips. "There's nothing quite like a good whiskey." he said as Tom was opening the case. He knew what was inside, the thirteen medals that his Jackson had won in battle, for gallantry and for selfless service to the empire. There were also a few personal items, holophotos and the like. But the most important item in that box was the imperial dagger that every officer received when he graduated from the imperial Starfleet academy. Tom was a good officer and a loyal friend. "He'd want you to have these items, since you and he are the same person. He prized them greatly. That dagger especially, he was one of the most patriotic and proud officers I've ever met. He was captured by the Klingons once, and they took his dagger. When he was rescued, he fought through a dozen of them just to get it back, even though the ship we were on was set to explode. He was never without it during dress uniforms. He wore a spare when on duty so that nothing would happen to it." Salid explained and then took another large sip of his drink. Tom opened the case slowly. For a few seconds Jackson looked at the contents. The mirror universe Salid was describing his relationship to his Jackson. Captain Salid described a relationship very similar to the one he enjoyed. Finally Tom's curiosity got the better of him. He asked "Sir, I have not yet meet your Jackson. May I sir.?" T.J. Was dreading his reply Salid thought about it for a few seconds before giving a single shake of the head. "I'm afraid that isn't possible tom. "You see my Tom Jackson is dead." Salid then went on to explain the circumstances of Tom Jacksons's death and to discuss more of the life that the man had once lived. It wasn't beautiful by any standards that she could think of but it did have its own presence. If everything worked as it should, then they would be sending the mirror universe vessel and her crew back to where they came from. With that in mind, she hoped that everything worked as it should. She ran her last diagnostic and waited on the edge of her seat for the results. Seemingly slowly, the screen started to scroll with the specification and testing data. "within tolerances...exactly as it should be...that'll work perfectly..." she mumbled as she read through the results. She smiled and looked back at the generator, "Looks like I get to send you off, soon." She pulled up the project file and added the additional data to it. Having a prior engineer as a captain meant he'd certainly be interested in the findings. "Lieutenant Matrix, the power allocation and transmission specifications check out. If you're in agreement, I think we can contact the Captain and let him know it's ready." She said, "I can send you the results, if you need them for comparison." (reply Matrix) (posted by Ruby) ------------------------- (USS Rosenante - Engineering Support Bay - ACEO - Lt. Steven Matrix - Day 15 - 1517) Ensign Rixx had been working diligently on the design specifications and engineering suitable replacements. A star base with its superior engineering and replication facilities couldn't produce anything better. Matrix grinned with pleasure at the accomplishment. ~ Field engineering at its best.~ Matrix thought. Matrix could see that Ensign Rixx took the accomplishment, and the challenge seriously as she waited for the diagnostics to finish. "within tolerances...exactly as it should be...that'll work perfectly..." she mumbled as she read through the results. She smiled and looked back at the generator, "Looks like I get to send you off, soon." "Lieutenant Matrix, the power allocation and transmission specifications check out. Matrix looked over the diagnostic results, "Yes Ensign, I think this is ready. I'll give you the honor of contacting the Captain." remarked Matrix. (Reply Rixx) "Excellent Ensign, very nice work. I think your accomplishment should be required reading at Star Fleet." replied Matrix. (Reply Rixx) "I'll be in main engineering to pick up the tools we'll need to install these, I think three sets? One extra just in case?" asked Matrix. (Reply Rixx) (Posted by Steve) --------------------------- (USS Rosenante - Engineering Support Bay - ACEO - Ensign(jg) Mitena Rixx - Day 15 - 1519) Matrix looked over the results. "Yes Ensign, I think this is ready. I'll give you the honor of contacting the Captain." "I'm sure he is just as anxious as we are to have this thing done and will be looking forward to the information." Mitena replied, smiling at the Lieutenant. He had been very good to work with over the past few days and was a very good engineer. The Furious was lucky to have such a proficient officer. "Excellent Ensign, very nice work. I think your accomplishment should be required reading at Starfleet." He replied. "My accomplishment, oh no... this project fully belongs to the both of us. But, I have to say, I think WE did a good job of putting it all together." She grinned. "I'll be in main engineering to pick up the tools we'll need to install these, I think three sets? One extra, just in case?" Matrix suggested. "An excellent idea. Nothing for it if we get there and break something." She agreed. As Matrix headed back into main engineer, Mitena tapped her comm badge. "Rixx to Captain Salid. Sir, we have the generator complete." (reply Salid) "All of the design modifications are noted and available for your review." (reply Salid) "Yes, Sir. We'll get it taken care of" She replied. Once the captain had given all his orders, Mitena went to Main Engineering to locate Lieutenant Matrix. "Captain says that we are to transport the device over and begin the install immediately. Do you need any help getting the supplies together?" She asked. It was obvious he was already fairly arms full of tools. (reply Matrix) She flashed him a bright smile and took up an armload of tools herself. In short order they had them all assembled in the Engineering Support Bay. After making sure everything was tagged appropriately to ensure proper transport, she contacted the transporter room. "Rixx to transporter room 1. I have a large generator, several tool cases, Lieutenant Matrix" She nodded in his direction, "and myself to transport to the ISS Rosenante Main Engineering." "It will take a moment to confirm the destination. No unauthorized transports. As soon as that clears, I'll begin the beam over. Shouldn't take but a moment. Be prepared for transport." "Thank you, Rixx out." "I believe that Ensign Rosenbauer and his team will be waiting for us in main engineering. He's a very nice person. But a scary Security Officer." She said with all seriousness as they waited for the transport. (reply Matrix, iyw) (reply Salid, Matrix) (posted by Ruby) ------------------------- (USS Rosenante - Main Engineering - ACEO - Lt. "Captain says that we are to transport the device over and begin the install immediately. Do you need any help getting the supplies together?" She asked. It was obvious he was already fairly arms full of tools. Matrix turned and heard an unknown number of tools hit the floor. He grinned, "Yes I think I do Ensign...would you mind grabbing whatever it is that I dropped and putting it in another tool pack?" asked Matrix. Matrix finished stuffing his tool pack together while Rixx requested transport to the ISS Rosenante." He noted a smile on her face, but said nothing. "Rixx to transporter room 1. I have a large generator, several tool cases, Lieutenant Matrix" She nodded in his direction, "and myself to transport to the ISS Rosenante Main Engineering." She said with all seriousness as they waited for the transport. Matrix hoisted his tool pack and observed it seemed a bit heavy. He rubbed his arm. ~Damn it...is this thing ever going to heal?~ Matrix asked himself. "Don't you love regulations Ensign?" Asked Matrix. (Reply Rixx) "I know there are reasons for rules, but sometimes I do think it gets in the way of the work. Still...this situation is different...a parallel universe, parallel ships, crews, weird." reflected Matrix. (Reply Rixx, IYW) "Hopefully we can get this show on the road soon? What's holding things up?" asked Matrix. (Reply Rixx, IYW) (Posted by Steve) ------------------------- (USS Rosenante- Ready Room- CO- Captain Ahmed Ibn Salid - Day 15 - 1525) =^=Rixx to Captain Salid. Sir, we have the generator complete."=^= The voice of the Bolian engineer caused Ahmed to look up from his reports very suddenly. He had been so intent on absorbing and copying the data retrieved from the Mirror Universe captain that he had almost forgotten that there were other people still on the ship. He tapped his commbadge and replied, "Go Ahead ensign." =^All of the design modifications are noted and available for your review.=^= "If you're happy with them ensign, go ahead and transport the generator over to the Imperial ship and get it installed, I'd like to have that ship and her crew home as quickly as possible." =^=Yes, Sir. We'll get it taken care of=^= She replied. "Thank you Ensign, Salid out." He closed the channel and then started the high priority encrypted data transfer to Captain Saleke. Soon they'd be done here and the two captains would have a great deal of things to do when they got back to Geneva. (USS Rosenante- Quarters- CO- Captain Ahmed Ibn Salid - Day 15 - 2200) With everything now set, the generator installed and the self destruct mechanism for them set, Ahmed felt that he could finally get some rest. His senior crew had performed admirably and that made Ahmed proud to be the captain of such a fine starship. He had received word from the Furious that they were now docked and able to be towed through the spiral conduit to Geneva. Doing so would cut quite a few days off their travel time and allow Ahmed and Saleke to move quickly to resolve the conspiracy. He had contacted Caskie to let her know that in the morning they'd be transferring Captain Salid back to the ISS Rosenante and that shortly after that the Imperial ship would be on it's way home. He could see the relief in her eyes at the prospect of returning back to the Rosenante. It was a feeling he could certainly sympathize with. With a lightened load from his shoulders, Ahmed lay down n his bed, smiled and allowed himself to drift into a peaceful sleep. (reply none) Daniel Greene ------------------------- (USS Rosenante - Engineering Support Bay - ACEO - Ensign(jg) Mitena Rixx - Day 15 - 1535) "Don't you love regulations, Ensign?" Matrix asked her. Mitena could only assume that he was referring to the delay in transport. "Regulations, yes indeed, they are a thing that one must heed." She recited a line that one of her academy instructors had been fond of stating."Necessary for the order of business one would guess. Can't have us all going about and doing whatever comes to mind. Why, I'd have half a mind in that case to take the rest of the day off and go swimming." "I know there are reasons for rules, but sometimes I do think it gets in the way of the work. Still..this situation is different...a parallel universe, parallel ships, crews, weird." He said. She nodded her head in a agreement. It was a strange set of circumstances that they were in. It was definitely something that they didn't go into detail about when you were in academy. "I'm very glad for the rules in this case." She shifted the tool bag on her shoulder slightly to adjust where the strap was crossing. "Hopefully, we can get this show on the road soon? What's holding things up?" (ISS Rosenante - Main Engineering - ACEO - Ensign(jg) Mitena Rixx - Day 15 - 1537) No sooner than the Lieutenant had asked the question then she could feel the familiar pull of the transporter beam. ~Nothing now.~ she thought just as they popped into the ISS Rosenante's Main Engineering bay. As expected Ensign Rosenbauer was there along with his team. She nodded slightly in his direction, but left him to the conversation that he was having with one of his squad. "Let's get this thing set up, shall we. The sooner, the better." She said, heading over to the device. They began in earnest to complete their assigned task. (ISS Rosenante - Main Engineering - ACEO - Ensign(jg) Mitena Rixx - Day 15 - 2130) With one final check over, the device was ready. Nothing left to do, but to inform the Captain and transport back to their ship. "Rixx to Captain Salid. The generator is online and ready." She couldn't wait for the transport back. (reply none) (posted by Ruby) -------------------------- Mission: Into the Darkness, Go I Day: 16 Stardate: 2408.08.16 (USS Rosenante- Bridge- CO- Captain Ahmed Ibn Salid - Day 16 - 1000) -------------------------- (USS Rosenante- Bridge- CO- Captain Ahmed Ibn Salid - Day 16 - 1000) Ahmed stepped onto the bridge with a purpose in his step. The captain gave his bridge crew a once over before finally settling into his newly rebuilt command chair. "Okay everyone, let's get this show on the road." he stated as he gave Caskie a small smile and a nod. She had done well dealing with the Imperial starship. Their crew may not like her much, but she had gotten the job done and in Ahmed's book that meant a great deal. "Notify the Furious and the ISS Rosenante that we are ready to bring the generators on line." he said. "Both vessels acknowledge captain and report their status ready." Ahmed nodded, then reached over to his command console. If something went wrong, he wanted it to be his fault alone. He activated the embedded codes and began the powering of the generators. "Generators are showing a power build-up of 55%, and rising, within tolerances." Someone reported, "Phasic energy discharge to commence in 60 seconds." Sixty seconds can be a very long time when you have a great deal riding on everything going just right. Ahmed nodded and watched the main view screen in silence. Time seemed to drag. Then suddenly there was a barely visible flash of blue light that seemed to come from the very structure of the imperial ship. It grew in intensity and then was suddenly gone. The Imperial Rosenante was no where to be found. "Looks like it worked, Captain." one of the bridge specialists reported." "So it does." Ahmed replied smiling even then. "Helm bring us into position to tow the Furious and then take us home, maximum warp. I think it's time we went home." "Aye sir." The helm replied, "I second that sentiment."
