(jg) Nayati & ATAC/SEC Ensign (jg) V’Shera – 1250.5) =^= Holy Crap, Great Spirit. V’Shera, the radiation and toxin readings are way off the scales. I don’t see how anyone could still be alive in there. I figure we’ve got a little under two minutes accomplish our task. And I’m hopelessly optimistic at that!=^= =^=Then we need to do it, Jon. Hell’va a first date, Hun?=^= =^=I couldn’t have said it better myself, Ensign.=^= Jon said as he hit the manual over ride for the reinforced blast doors that separated this section of engineering from the wrap core 2 containment room. The blast doors quickly opened. Quickly Jon and V’Shera stepped inside the transparent lead-irridium air lock that protected them from the malfunction warp core. Once inside the blast doors slammed loudly behind them. Through the transparent glass-like wall, Jon and V’Shera saw the warp containment room glowing with blue-green super-heated warp coolant, mini-plasma discharges and lethal dithium radiation. Jon felt the cooling elements of his rad-suit’s live support system engage. Even through the protective insulation shielding of the air lock wall the ambient thermal energy inside the confinement room was intense. ~Hotter than Hell, Great Spirit~ Jon thought to himself. ~Even hotter, because I’m a cold world Necron Red, Grandfather Of Spirits,~. As Jon thought that, he felt the strong, seemingly reassuring pressure of V’Shera’s hand his right shoulder. =^=Hotter than a drought day in the deep Vulcan Dessert,” Jon realized that V’Shera was trying to be humorous. Inwardly Jon groaned silently, and non-telepathically, to himself nonetheless, =^=Jon. I’m not seeing CEO Morrow on the port side of the containment room. Any luck on the starboard side, Lt. J.?=^= Jon cued up the polarizing function of his rad-suit’s face plate. In synch with his cyber-lense implants, much of containment room’s internal radiance was drastically reduced. After a practiced twenty one second scan Jon located the crumpled and radiation burned form of CEO Morrow. =^=On my three o’clock, V’Shera. The room’s ambient illumination is blocking my aura sight, but he doesn’t seem to be breathing and if he has any thoughts they are far too weak to register telepathically.= =^=Great Surak, we’re in a world of deep screwed, Jon. Neither of us are engineers, we were sent down for our extraordinary physical attributes not our technical knowledge. We don’t know what CEO Morrow did, or didn’t do, before he may have expired. Where do we go from here, times running out?=^= V’Shera’s voice a discerning mixture of frustration an uncharacteristic Vulcan despair. Jon’s mind was racing even as V’Shera spoke. ~V’Shera was absolutely right, and their time, and ship’s time, was rapidly running out! What to Do? What to Do, damn it? What to do, Great Spirit?~ =^=We need to keep our heads. V. Look around see if we can find something inside or outside the containment room to access the warp core’s condition and -=^=[ =^=And find out if he accomplished anything to jettison the core?=^= (Reply Jon, None (Posted by Jim McCrary) ------------------------------ (USS Rosenante - Transporter Room 1 - Transporter Chief - Ensign Josh Dawson -Day 11-1341) Commander Caskie quickly took the situation into control when she arrived in the transporter room. With the large number of personnel in the compartment, Dawson was beginning to feel a little claustrophobic, but he had been in worse places than this and was determined to do his very best to see to it that the Commander's plans went off without a hitch. As she laid out the places where she wanted the teams to beam into and the order in which she wanted them to do so, Dawson quickly located and programmed the coordinates and the transport patterns to allow him to minimize time between transports. He had just finished when Commander Caskie ordered her team onto the platform for transport. With all the confidence that Dawson did not feel, she said, "Mr. Dawson, prepare to transport us over on my mark. Then the Engineering, Security, Computer and Sickbay teams in that order. Phaser out and on stun. Now Mr. Dawson." "Energizing" Dawson replied and activated the transporter. In a moment they were gone and aboard the Mirror universe version of the same ship. Not long after that all the other teams were away. Dawson simply hoped that he would be transporting over the same number of crewmates as he had just sent over. (reply none) Daniel Greene ------------------------- (ISS Rosenante - Bridge - CO- Captain Ahmed Ibn Salid (MU)- Day 11 -1343) It had taken his Federation counterpart far longer to board his ship than he had thought possible. And while he had been thankful for the opportunity to try to have his teams break this damn Omega encryption, they had proved unsuccessful. He should have known better than to underestimate himself as he had. While it was apparent that this universe's Salid was not the tactician or battle hardened officer that he was, he still seemed to possess the same keen intellect that was possessed by the commander of the Imperial Starship. It was that same intellect that allowed Salid to feel at ease when Caskie, Jackson and an armed security team transported aboard the bridge of his ship and fundamentally arrested him. She stepped forward and Salid found her more vulnerable form somewhat appealing. She was a much different woman, this Federation officer. She was somehow both authoriative and Feminine without being cheap or vampish. It was a very appealing way for her to be. Caskie seemed to be regarding him as well, taking his measure. Or at least that was the impression that he received. The bridge boarding team was only comprised of herself and security personnel. She was either supremely confident in her ability to control the bridge or she was simply not as seasoned as his own Caskie. He gave his First officer and his personal bodyguard a shake of the head. And though His Caskie may have thought that he had surrendered his ship, Ahmed knew that what he had done was take the battle to a completely different level. There was no need to continue to lose lives and suffer further damage to his ship now, when he had been out maneuvered. But there was still one battle that he knew without a doubt that he could win. It was a battle that would determine the disposition and fate of every member of his crew. It would decide if they would become penal colony inmates, or perhaps be executed. And though Ahmed was a hard man and a fierce taskmaster that demanded unquestioning loyalty, he would not sacrifice the lives of those that had served him faithfully for so long without a very good reason. And at the moment, there was no very good reason available. "Sir, I must ask you to surrender this vessel to me. Your crew will not be harmed and will be treated well and in accord with Federation rules. However, should you, or indeed any of your crew attempt to resist then I cannot guarantee their safety." Ahmed nodded once. Then slowly took his sheathed dagger from his sash and held it out to her. I formally surrender this vessel to you, Commander Jennifer Caskie. I somehow always knew that you would be taking this ship from me." He turned and glanced at his own Caskie, with a look that was more warning than anything else. The smiled and returned his look to the federation commander. She seemed to think about things for a half a second and then she turned to two of the security officers and ordered, " Disarm them all please." The two security officers made the rounds of the bridge crew, taking their daggers and removing the phasers from the few security officers that were stationed on the Bridge. Ahmed had already made it clear to his bridge crew that they were not to resist their capture. It had been a dangerous risk, but it was one that he felt that he would have to take. If they thought him weak, they would discover soon enough how very wrong they were. "Commander, I have already given an order to my bridge crew not to resist Federation boarding efforts, but I have not done so to the rest of the crew. If I may be allowed to open a intraship channel, I will do so now." (reply Caskie) Ahmed nodded, then slowly reached over and tapped his Imperial commbadge, "Salid to all personnel." The ship's computer instantly contacted every single member of the ISS Rosenante crew. "All Imperial crew, this is the captain speaking. You have fought well here and for that I commend you. However, things have changed and we have decided to form a rough alliance with the Federation officers serving on this universe's Rosenante. They have agreed to help us return home in exchange for some very valuable information. We are no longer at war and all activities underway to cause them harm or grief are to desist immediately. In order for them to assist us, they are to be allowed complete access to our systems. All security personnel are hereby ordered to lay down their weapons and report to the security center to await further instructions from a member of the Federation crew. It has been agreed that I will retain command of this ship, and that you will all be free of persecution for following my orders. That is all. Captain out." Salid looked the federation commander square in the eyes and smiled. "In my universe commander, we are prepare for a wide variety of outcomes to a single event, even one as unlikely as has taken place here. I have information that you will want, and you will help me return my ship home and leave myself and my crew unmolested in exchange for it. If you don't then the people in your universe who have developed this Omega Technology, will remain hidden and free to try again. Do we have an understanding?" (reply Caskie) "I know you don't like being dictated to Jennifer, but you can ask your counterpart who knows me very well, whether I am bluffing. I assure you, that provided the Furious can destroy the Device and we therefore survive it's launch, then you will very much need to negotiate with me." (reply Caskie, Jackson) Daniel Greene ------------------------- (USS Rosenante - Transporter Room One - SO - Ensign Mike Rosenbauer - Day 11 - 1344) Mike had reported to the transporter room along with the entirety of his squad. Raschen knew when he had a great asset available, and it made Mike happy to know that he and his team were appreciated. After their arrival, Jennifer had given a quick briefing and assigned some basic roles for the senior most officers participating in the boarding. She then turned to Chance and asked for his expertise, which was always a good thing for a senior officer to do. Chance broke out the teams to accompany the assault groups and to compliment their skills. Mikes team was assigned to go along with The engineering team. Once the command team was off the platform, now fully engaged on the Bridge of the ISS Rosenante, Mike gave the nod for his team to take their positions. The six person security squad made a circle around the two engineers, weapons at the high ready and prepared to use them should they materialize in a hot environment. The feelings of matter-to-energy transfer was one that you never quite got used to. It was like having a parade of ants crawl across your skin just long enough for your brain to register it before the sensation ended. And when it ended you were in an entirely different place. In this case, that place was the engine room of a seriously damaged ISS Rosenante. (ISS Rosenante - Main Engineering - SO - Ensign Mike Rosenbauer - Day 11 - 1345) When they materialized. There was a sudden flurry of phaser fire. Those engineers that were standing too close to the arrival point for the assault team fell in heaps near their feet as they were stunned by the expert ex-Starfleet Rangers. Those that were not an immediate threat were considerably luckier, as they were simply covered and ordered to drop to the deck. As the engineers were cooperating a group of Imperial security officers tried to storm into the compartment. The exchange was very short, since cooper and Saint Jean had moved to cover the primary entrances and the security personnel had hoped to retake the compartment before mike's team was fully prepared. Their primary mistake was thinking that the team wouldn't be able to secure the compartment so quickly. They were soon stunned and secured within moments. "Status?" he called, as he looked down his barrel at a group of engineers that were huddling on the floor in front of him. " Clear," Cooper called. "Clear, " Saint jean echoed. "Clear. Mosh and then T'Vyr added. "Clear." Travis chimed in, Mike also called out, "Clear." He then called out to Rixx and Winters without taking his eyes off the prisoners he was watching. "Ensign Rixx, we have the Compartment secure. Please feel free to do your thing." (reply Rixx) "Mister Cooper, sweep the CEO's office and then start transferring these prisoners there after you have seen to it that there is no computer control interface there." "Aye, sir." Cooper replied and headed for the CEO's office. (reply Rixx and/or Caroline) Daniel Greene ------------------------- (USS Rosenante - Transporter Room 1 - ATRADOC - Ensign Marta Nunez -Day 11-1346) Much to her pleasure the First Officer did not question Marta's appearance in the Transporter room. And even Raschen seemed to think it the most natural thing in the universe. That gave Marta a sense of pride that went well beyond just doing a good job in her current assignment. It was a pride that had been kindled by the knowledge that the other officers that she served with felt that she was competent and capable of aiding them in such a hazardous situation. Marta listed to and even recorded the commanders orders, in case she needed to refer to them again for some reason, and was standing by and ready to do her bit when she beamed out. Raschen assigned her to the Medical department, which perhaps not as critical as she would have liked, was centrally located enough to allow her a degree of latitude to respond to any sudden crisis that might develop. Just before he beamed over, Raschen had allowed Marta to hand select half of fourth squad and then also gave her a word of advise, "Marta, don't let the doctor give you any crap. " She glanced over at Doctor Lopez who was well within earshot before replying. "Don't worry sir. I don't intend to." Then a few moments later Raschen and his security people were transported over to the enemy ship and eventually it became Marta's turn. She assumed the forward most position on the platform, keeping Doctor Lopez behind her armored bulk. She then arranged the other security officers in a crescent to the rear of the platform, weapons up and ready. Once everyone was in position she ordered, "Energize" (ISS Rosenante- sickbay- ATRADOC - Ensign Marta Nunez -Day 11- 1355) It was immediately apparent that the sickbay of the imperial starship was very different from that found on the Federation vessel. The dominate feature was an agony booth, and the work stations were not nearly as well developed or as, well, impressive as those found on her own Rosenante. There were several dozen injured people in various locations throughout the compartment, Most seemed to not be receiving any real treatment. She noted with some interest that they all seemed to be very junior officers and crew. The security team called all clear and secured the primary bay. They than began a sweep of the secondary bay and rooms. It was there that they discovered the CMO and other medical personnel tending to the wounded that might be able to be saved. It was then that Marta realized that those in the main bay were simply awaiting their time to die, they were considered beyond hope of recovery. Either because of their injuries or because of their political affiliations. It was hard to tell in this place. Marta activated her commsuite in her combat armor and hailed Doctor Lopez. "Doctor, you're the expert with medical, what if anything do you need my people to do, besides maintain order?" (reply Lopez) Daniel Greene ------------------------- (USS Furious- Bridge- CO, Captain Saleke - Day 11- 1347) "Mr. Cooper I need communications now." Saleke ordered after resuming the chair. "I'm working on it Captain." The man reported. "The main control circuits are fried, switching to backups, they haven't been thoroughly tested yet so this may take some time." "Understood." The opening of the turbolift door heralded the arrival of the young scientist they had picked up on Hexicor Alpha. Turning in the command chair, Saleke saw him but waited till he had come forward. "Mr. Benoit report, have you found a way to disable the paratrinic shielding?" (Reply: Benoit) He nodded. "Weapons are currently offline however we are working to resolve the issue, assist Ensign Elk with the recalibration of the phaser modulation matrix as per your requirements." (Reply: Benoit, room for more) As the scientist moved to the tactical officer Saleke turned back to the viewscreen which showed the third planet of the system passing to their left, the grey orb of the ice planet showing the indents of numerous mountain ranges and asteroid strikes which had scarred its surface. The blinking indicator of the speeding Omega torpedo was in the center of the screen as the Furious raced to catch up to it. "Time to intercept Mr. Hrill?" The helmsman called back over her shoulder. "Thirteen minutes at current speed Captain. Warp three is all we have available due to demands on the engines from other systems." "Mr. Cooper estimated time for repairs to weapons and communications." "Weapons systems are taking time sir," The man reported. "Communications coming online now." "Open a channel to the Vigilant." The viewscreen wavered for a second then steadied showing the battle bridge of the Vigilant. Andrus Williams was in the command chair, his efforts during the battle with the ISS Rosenante had been noteworthy. "Ensign what is the status of your ship?" (Reply: Andrus) Saleke nodded. "We will be within weapons range of the device in twelve minutes, our speed is limited due to battle damage and we are working to repair the weapons systems which are also down at this time. Move ahead and engage the weapon till we arrive. Ensign Benoit believes he can bring down the paratrinic shielding." (Reply: Andrus, room for more) The Caitian turned as Ensign Benoit approached the redundant panel s/he was currently monitoring. Hir race was slightly shorter than the human norm and of a slimmer build. Hir fur was of a golden hue, short and silky with white motes and whorls." Ensign Benoit we arrre waiting forrr powerrr to be restorrred." S/he purred. "What arrre yourrrr needs?" (Reply: Benoit) Ensign Karil Elk looked the human up and down and gave him a coy smile. Hir violet pupils which were shaped much like those of a terran feline could be disquieting to those of another species who were not familiar with hir race. The human male was well built and masculine though not as hardened as many officers aboard the ship but quite attractive. Hir ears twitched a bit as s/he turned back to the console and indicated that he was free to make the necessary modifications. "Go ahead." S/he said. "I will stand by in case I am needed. Repairrrs should be completed shorrrtly." (Reply: Benoit) (Posted by Charles) ------------------------- (ISS Rosenante - Main Computer Core – aCOPS – Ensign Smith - Day 11- 1351) Robert felt the grip of the transporter beam release him in the Main Computer Core. It took him a split second to gather his surroundings. The ISS crew draw there weapons and fired, the Rose team did the same and a fire fight began. Robert to cover behind a large console and began firing at some of the ISS crew. He heard a soft whoosh of a door opening behind him. His mind recognizing it in an instant. He began to turn to get his weapon to bear on the enemy but he knew that it was far too late. As he turned he saw that the enemy was a vicious looking man with a long nasty blade in her hand. Robert realized that there was nothing he could do. The man was to close and he would never get his phaser round in time before he was upon him. ~OW my god~ Suddenly the man was struck in the chest twice by phaser shots. He crumpled to the deck beside him. He quickly looked around for the person who had saved him and saw it was Sullivan who had fired those shots. ~Ow man that was close~ He nodded his thanks towards her. “Thanks Sir.” He looked back at the ISS crew and began searching for targets. "STATUS." She said loudly but not in a harsh tone. He heard the others report in to Sullivan. “Clear Ma’am.” "Ensign Smith, I need you to check the computer core and advise me on the status of Mister Raschen's program. Is it doing it's job or do we need to help it along some?" “Give me a second to see what’s happening Ma’am.” Robert moved over to the main computer terminal. He unfolded the wrist PADD and placed it into the console. There was a soft beep as the PADD interfaced with the console and it lit up. He grabbed a chair that had fallen over during the fire fight and accessed the main computer. Using the hacking programs on the PADD and the access the Boss had used to get his program into there system he went searching. ~Wow this is an impressive peace of software. It’s almost as it is self aware~ He quickly found what he wanted. The Boss’s program had disabled the ship but not taken control of the computer core but there were still a few unfrozen systems. “LT Commander Sullivan Ma’am. I have found I have found Mister Raschen's program. It is working as we have wanted.” "Understood Mister Smith, keep me advised." "Set up security points at least two people covering each exit to the room." Robert looked over at Sullivan. “Ma’am from here I am able to gain control of the main frame and get access to the whole ship but it might take some time.” (reply Sullivan) “There is also a lot of data in the main core that I could transfer to the Rose for annalasis if you want?” (reply Sullivan) (Reply Sullivan, Computer Core team.) (Posted by Robbie) ------------------------- (ISS Rosenante – Interrogation Room– CSec- LT Chance Raschen-1353.5) Chance and his team rematerialized, they were all thankful that they were alone. The room itself was filled with an assortment of torture devises. As he made eye contact with each member of his team, “Remember what the commander said, weapons on stun.” Once he got acknowledging answers, he moved toward the door, opened it just enough to look out. Once he judged that the coast was clear, the door was opened all the way. As a group, the team cautiously walked out of the interrogation room and proceeded down the passageway to the main entrance to the security section. Raschen, walked in alone first, with a devious gleam in his eye, he started talking to the handful of Imperial security members that sat behind the counter until he got to the far end. Once shots of phaser fire started going off the Federation security team rushed through the door and started firing their weapons at everyone that moved to face their direction, stunning all of the Imperials. =^=Cmdr Josh Caskie to the USS Rosenante away team. I need an update on your situation. I need to know whether you have secured your objectives. =^= Raschen tapped his comm.-badge and replied “CP is secured at this time.” He then turned to his team “Alright folks, you just heard what I told the boss lady. So let’s make it true. Let’s get these yahoos hog-tied, gagged, and tossed in a cell. Dan, I want you and Mike to man the consoles and get me a report on the locations of all Imperial personnel on the two Roses. If any are on our ship, I want you to issue orders for them to report back to this location for directives toward new objectives. Once they get here, stun them, and then stick ‘em in a cell with the others. Then I want you to do the same with the ones on this ship, but in twos and threes.” “On it sir.” They had said in unison. (Reply none) (Reply none) Posted by Charlie -------------------------- (ISS Rosenante - Bridge - FO - Cmdr Josh Caskie - Day 11 - 1400) None of the officers on the Bridge of the alternate Rose had even put up a fight. Josh's security team had disarmed them all with no problems and had shepherded them into the Captain's ready room and made sure they were secure. Josh tapped her commbadge and spoke to the rest of the away team. "Cmdr Josh Caskie to the USS Rosenante away team. I need an update on your situation. I need to know whether you have secured your objectives." (Reply all on the away team, however I'm going to take this as a yes.) Getting an affirmative from all the other away teams Josh tapped her comm badge again. " Caskie to USS Rosenante. The ISS Rosenante has been secured. All our teams have secured their designated locations and we are in control of the ship. Captain Salid. I need you to overwrite the Omega Protocol so that our team in the Computer Core can take charge Sir." (Reply Salid) Josh walked down into the command portion of the bridge but didn't sit down. "Mr Jackson, please take over Ops and inform all of our away teams once the Captain has disabled the Omega Protocols. Once you have done that I want you to slave all the bridge systems through your console so that you have complete control. (Reply Jackson) (Reply Salid and Jackson) (Posted by Marilyn) ------------------------- (USS Rosenante - Bridge - CO- Captain Ahmed Ibn Salid- Day 11 -1401) Ahmed still sat at the CONN station, the aching in his shoulder was back up to a dull roar. Caskie and the majority of his senior crew had been ordered to board the Imperial ship and Ahmed at this point had no idea what was happening there. To make matters worse, the Captain had not seen definite indications that the Omega device had yet been destroyed by the Furious. He knew that if they were unsuccessful, that everything else at this point was for nothing. His tension was visible around his eyes and with the majority of his bridge smashed, the relief officers were unused to seeing the captain at all, let alone when he was worried about something. He fought down the urge to contact Jennifer for a status update. He had to trust her to do the right thing. He had to allow her to command that team and achieve her goals. She knew as well as he did what was at stake here. He had to continue to have faith in her. "Captain, we're receiving a hail from the ISS Rosenante. It's commander Caskie, Sir." "Ours or theirs?" He asked. "Ahhh. Sir... I don't really know. Ours I think." Ahmed frowned at the officer before turning back to the main view screen. "On Screen." "It's voice only, sir." "Then put in on speaker." Ahmed replied after a short painful sigh. A moment later he heard the familiar voice of his first officer. =^=Caskie to USS Rosenante. The ISS Rosenante has been secured. All our teams have secured their designated locations and we are in control of the ship. Captain Salid. I need you to override the Omega Protocol so that our team in the Computer Core can take charge Sir.=^= "Good Work Commander. But I won't do that until you answer a very important question for me. I need you to do so, in order for me to verify that you are my Caskie and not theirs. I need you to tell me the name of the Kobali that was once Donald Caskie." (reply Caskie) NRPG: Assuming the correct response. Ahmed knew that it was not a subject that would be brought up lightly. But considering what was at stake, he could not simply trust that he was talking to the correct Caskie. He had to be certain, and the odds were impossibly large that the Imperial ship's Caskie had encountered the Kobali or more specifically Donald Caskie after he had been reclaimed by the Kobali, whereas, Ahmed knew that his ship had. "I'm sorry commander. It was necessary," he apologized again. " I'll release the Omega Protocol immediately. Salid on the USS Rosenante out." He turned his attention back to the console at which he was sitting and entered the command codes needed to clear the omega Lockdown. Then with a single stab of his finger, transmitted the codes to the ISS Rosenante, in the hopes that he had not just been duped. (reply Caskie) Daniel Greene ------------------------- (USS Furious (Vigilant) CTSO Ensign Andrus Williams Day 11 1404 ) The ISS Rose had been stopped! Or had it? While the vessel was stopped but it launched some type of weapon. Andrus turned to Fred Jones and K'tar an asked "What was that?". The three all knew it couldn;t be good. (reply: Ensign Jones if you would) About that time, Captain Saleke, on the Furious, radioed them as the Vigilant segment of the Furious was closer to the target. "Aye,Aye Captain" came the Bolian's reply. Andrus thought a minute and issued his instructions. "Aye Aye Captain" was the terse reply. Andrus ordered a pursuit course laid and engaged at maximum speed. The Vigilant kept firing as it edged closer to the projectile. "K'tar, fire on that object now" the Bolian ordered. K'tar made a guttural sound and said "Firing Now Captain". The Vigilant watched as the blasts hit the object causing a display of multi colored sparks to outline the projectile. Slamming his hand down on his console and swearing in BOlian, Williams repeated his command to fire. The Vigilant watched again as their efforts were frustrated a second time. "Fire Again!" Williams ordered a third time. One again, the Vigilant's efforts were frustrated. "Open a channel to the Furious" Andrus ordered. the kink was established and the Captain;s face soon appeared. (reply: Captain Saleke) "Sir, we can hit the projectile but it is having no effect due to its shielding system" Andrus replied. (reply: Saleke) Time passed it seemed even slower than it had been. "Captain, I will place the Vigilant between its target and it - we will continue to fire in hope of weakening its shielding to the point damage can be done" Andrus stated. (reply: Captain Saleke) Andrus waited for any orders Saleke might issue. (reply: Saleke or Jones) (posted by: Bill) ------------------------- End Compile. Marilyn Work
