He was getting bored. The Bloodwine in this place, while strong enough just didn’t have the same taste to it that the original home word wine had. He noticed a young Terran woman sitting at the bar with a Starfleet crewman. Normally Gort didn’t pay that much attention to Terrans either male or female but he had been out on patrol for a while and the KinQ’Ta , like most Klingon ships was a standard all male crew. Gort took another long pull from his mug and grinned a nasty grin. The girl looked lonely, obviously the Starfleet male she was with couldn’t hold her fascination. He was sure he could though and rose from his stool and while swaying slightly walked over to the couple and interposed himself between them. His back to the man as if he were of no concern and faced the woman. “You have quarters on this……station female? Take me to them”. As the young woman was about to protest her friend attempted to turn the Klingon toward him and received an elbow to the ribs and a closed fist across the base of the neck for his efforts. Gort watched briefly as the Human male dropped like a weight. He worried for a moment that he had hit the man too hard and would have to explain to his Captain but he saw the man still breathed. Turning back to the woman he again instructed her to take him to her quarters. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Stardate: 2407.02.17 (Starbase Geneva - Shining Star Lounge – 2O Lt.(sg) CTAC Jason Dema - 2132) Dispite the disruptions from the Klingons their yelling and belching, Jasonwas enjoying in Taya's company. The show was about to start, so Taya and Jason turned towards the stage, only to see a Klingon making his move on a woman, after putting down her friend. “You have quarters on this……station female? Take me to them”. Jason couldn't watch the scene, and his security-duty seemed to call him into action. The adrenaline started to rise untill he couldn't bare to watch any further. He once again reached for his type I phaser, and concealed it in his right hand. "Excuse me for a second." He said to Taya and stood up. He walked over to the table where the Klingon was assaulting the woman, end first checked the vitalsign of her friend. He still seemed to be breathing, and there was a steady heartbeat. The man would survive, and Jason turned towards the Klingon. "I believe the woman says no, You should leave her alone, before someone else gets hurt." Jason did make it clear it would be the Klingon who would go down, his eyes told all the details one would need to predict the future. Waiting for a response, Jason readied his phaser, placing his thumb on the trigger. ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Stardate: 2407.02.17 (Starbase Geneva - Shining Star Lounge – Gort and assorted Drunk Klingons – 21:33) Gort had just reached out and grasp the woman by her upper right arm when he heard someone speaking from somewhere behind him. "I believe the woman says no, You should leave her alone, before someone else gets hurt." Gort turned slowly There was a Federation male standing there with his hand cupped hiding something. Normally Gort would have been at least a little wary of anyone behind him holding something out of site. Tonight though he was more than a little drunk and feeling very belligerent (IE: Feeling like a Klingon normally does). He turned to face the Federation male and as he did he propelled the woman in front of him and into the Federation security man. With a cry of rage he barreled into the Security guard and started to pummel him with his fist. At the sound of Gort’s roar his ship mates Kang, Trogot and Lort turned to see what the commotion was. Kang rose on unsteady legs and started to the side of his mate as did Trogot. Lort on the other hand had just arrived and had a lot of drinking time to catch up on. Besides not only were there three Klingons to only one Federation man, they were currently on a Federation Station and the worst that would happen is that someone would be stunned. There was no glory to be had by joining the fight and winning against one man nor would there be any by being stunned when the rest showed up. He turned and ordered another Bloodwine and watched the combat to see what would happen next. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Stardate: 2407.02.17 (Starbase Geneva - Shining Star Lounge – Kang and assorted Drunk Klingons – 21:34) “Hey little woman,” roared Kang. Kang, drunk from too many tankards of bloodwine, was weaving back and forth, waving his drink like a weapon and sloshing bloodwine everywhere. He stumbled forward and grabbed the woman’s wrist, wrenching her away from both Gort and the Federation clod. “I can help you. They do have holodecks here! I would be happy to show you one of them! They're closer!” He laughed as she tried to shove him away. “A woman with some fire!” shouted Kang. He yanked her away from Gort with one strong hand and waved his drink with the other. “Let’s go to the Holodeck. I have honor to defend for you!” Kang began to drag the woman across the bar toward the entrance to the holodecks, roaring with laughter all the way, wobbling slightly. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Stardate: 2407.02.17 (Starbase Geneva - Shining Star Lounge – ATAC Ensign (Jg) Ammon Ranae - 2135) There appeared to be a skirmish going on not to far away involving Klingons again. It had attracted some attention including Ranae's. She saw her boss, Lt. Dema was involved and there was a frightened woman trying to help a young man from the floor. Dema was facing off with a Klingon who was about to be backed up by two more drunken Klingons. Ranae was torn between staying with the captain or standing with Dema. This was getting more and more interesting as the evening wore on. ~Captain Saleke does have this other man to help him, and he looks like he can handle just about anything... and it's most dishonorable, three against one...Time to even the odds. I'll join in.~ She hurried over to stand beside the lieutenant, she was more than ready for a good blarney, the run in with the other Klingons had made her madder than a hornet, she really needed to let off some steam. “Hey little woman,” roared another of the Klingons who was weaving back and forth, waving his drink like a weapon and sloshing bloodwine everywhere. He stumbled forward and grabbed the terrified female’s wrist. “I can help you. They do have holodecks here! I would be happy to show you to one of them! They are closer!” He laughed as she tried to shove him away. “A woman with some fire!” He shouted. He yanked her away. “Let’s go to the Holodeck. I have honor to defend for you!” He roared as he began to drag the woman across the bar toward the entrance to the holodecks, roaring with laughter all the way. ~I don't think so Targ's butt!~ Ranae had had more than her fill of the loud and loathsome drunks and rushed tointervene, thrusting her way through onlookers until she stood in front of the Klingon with the woman, barring hisway defiantly. "It might be wiser to let her go and back off." She said, assuming a martial arts crouch. "Although this may beacceptable behaviour elsewhere, on this *Federation* Station it's against the law to kidnap women with rape in mind, Klingon! So I suggest you work that booze befuddled pea-brain and realize that if you don't comply with my request, you will be summarily arrested for attempted kidnapping, thrown in the brig, and your ship's docking privileges will be rescinded, and you can be darn sure that Starbase security are on their way." She grinned at him wickedly and her almost black eyes sparkled with wild delight; she so wanted him to be an idiot. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Stardate: 2407.02.17 (Starbase Geneva - Shining Star Lounge – 2O Lt. (sg) CTAC Jason Dema - 2137) Jason was overthrown by three Klingon, as he strugled to get his hands free. Saviour came from his new ATAC, who took on of the Klingon for her account, and giving Jason some more breathing room. When Jason accomplished getting his armed hand free, he saw Ammon going for a Klingon, forcing a woman to come along. He grabbed a good hold of his small phaser, and knocked the Klingon in his stumach. pushing the trigger, the first Klingon got stunned. Jason rolled the man of off him, as he got several hits from the second Klingon on him. He dropped his phaser while trying to block the attacks aimed at his stomach and head, and had no chance of getting up, unless help would arrive. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Stardate: 2407.02.17 (Starbase Geneva - Shining Star Lounge – Torgot – 21:38) Torgot was hunched low over the bar muttering some words under his breath, "yaH jaH, QeH 'oH, yaH jaH, QeH 'oH yaH jaH, QeH 'oH Gehe an Deinen Posten, die "Zorn" ist da!" The Klingon faded the song out as he turned around to see chaos, his brothers were fighting the federation. "khesterex thath" Torgot muttered. He jumped of his stool and violently through the glass he was using at the floor. It shattered instantly. "kuvekhestat" He muttered and then ran at one of the Security men. "g'dayt" He shouted at the man, he jumped on him and landed on the mans back. The man crumpled instantly. Torgot got up and surveyed the room, with great difficulty. The amount of drink he had guzzled down him was starting to have an effect he could no longer see much with out spinning around. He noticed a Starfleet Lieutenant, and then ran towards him. As the man Stunned one of his brothers in arms. "Kuveleta" Torgot shouted as he reached the man. He threw a few punchs at the man, which made him drop his phaser. "Parkhest" Torgot shouted as he punched the man several times in the stomach and the head, this man was pitiful. He wouldn't last much longer.. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Stardate: 2407.02.17 (Starbase Geneva - Shining Star Lounge – Kang and assorted Drunk Klingons – 21:39) One woman with heavily browed eye ridges and neck cords, rushed to intervene, thrusting her way through onlookers until she stood in front of the Klingon with the woman, barring his way defiantly. "It might be wiser to let her go and back off," she said, assuming a martial arts crouch. The vaguely lizard-looking woman then started spewing a bunch of angry words at Kang, and laughing, he shoved the woman whose wrist he was gripping, at her. The woman stumbled into the one crouching, ready for a fight. “You want to go to the Holodeck with me? Alright, let’s go! “ Kang told her. “I have been told women love me!” Kang peered at her blearily. “Bloodwine?” He offered her the nearly empty tankard. “No?” He lowered the tankard. “Well in that case, lay one on me!” challenged Kang grinning. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Stardate: 2407.02.17 (Starbase Geneva - Shining Star Lounge - ATAC Ensign (Jg) Ammon Ranae - 2140) The drunken Klingon shoved his captive towards Ranae. It was unexpected, but the Bajoran/Cardassian halfbreed's years of martial arts training had prepared her to react immediately, reflexively she instantly thrust the woman protectively behind her. "You want to go to the Holodeck with me? Alright, lets go!" The Klingon told her. I have been told women love me!" Ranae snorted, ~sure they do, if they're targ sows.~ He peered at her blearily. "Bloodwine?" He offered her the tankard. She snorted again and rolled her eyes. ~Prophets!~ "No?" He lowered the tankard. "Well in that case, lay one on me!" He challenged, grinning stupidly at her. Having been spoiling for a good fight, Ranae was more than a little disappointed and very tempted to do just that, but it wouldn't be justified as the woman was no longer being held against her will, so there was no reason for her to give the Klingon buffoon a good hiding, as much as he deserved one. so she smiled sweetly as she straightened up, watching him closely. "Perhaps another time should our paths cross again, warrior. ~Prophets forbid!~ Now I have no further dispute with you, you have freed the woman." She cast a quick glance behind her to see that the woman had wisely left. ~Good!~ Then she looked back at the Klingon and gave him another small smile before turning and walking away, every sense remaining on red alert. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Stardate: 2407.02.17 (Starbase Geneva - Shining Star Lounge – Kang and other Klingons - 2141) Kang staggered over to help his shipmate Gort. The Federation crewman were outnumbering Gort and that was not to be born! Kang discarded his by now empty bloodwine tankard and shouting, grabbed a Starfleet uniform. He punched him in the stomach, but got bashed on the head with a bottle from behind. As Klingon heads are notably thicker and harder than most, he turned, snarled and head butted the foolish human. He was drunk and saw stars in his eyes and backed up a few steps. Between the overindulgence in bloodwine and the last blow he had received, blackness beckoned to his groggy brain. He shook his head and roared, determined not to let his crewmates down. By now the brawl was in full swing with Klingon and Federation crew members grappling each other all over the lounge. Kang, chuckling with glee, staggered to his friends’ side and punched the opponent he was grappling with and found himself receiving another federation fist to the eye. Pain exploded through his head and helped to shake off a little of his drunken stupor. He grunted and roared with rage and punched at the man’s form, peering only through one eye. His fist connected with a crack and the man went down. “pItlh!” (Done!) he shouted. He stumbled over to the bar to survey the scene with satisfaction, looking for another potential opponent. “Maj!” (Good) Kang grunted. It was a good day to do battle. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Stardate: 2407.02.17 (Starbase Geneva - Shining Star Lounge - CEO 3/O Lt. Mason Garrett - 2142) As the general meelee was building between Cain and the group of Klingons, Mason spotted another moving in from the man's right. Cain didn't seem to see him. Mason moved as quickly as he could as the hulking warrior raised a fist to strike at Cain. The Myste's CEO threw himself shoulder first into the back of the Klingon's legs. Caught by surprise, coupled by his drunken state, the Klingon yelled his surprise as he crashed to the floor. Mason started to roll, but his target recovered his shaken wits and kicked the young human sharply in the ribs sending him spinning into a table of onlookers. Large drinking containers flew in several directions spilling their contents in a wide radius. Curses erupted all around including from the two Klingons who'd been sitting, drinking and enjoying the spectacle. Now both were glowering down at Mason Garrett. "Bloody hell," Mason grumbled just before two pairs of hands reached down and grabbed his uniform front and back. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Stardate: 2407.02.18 (Federation Transport Vessel Pelivar - Bridge - Captain Girabaldi - 0428) The trip had been a long one though uneventful up to this point and Michael Girabaldi had been notified to come to the bridge as per his orders, the last leg of the journey into Geneva was not something to be taken lightly... or missed. As he watched the system slip by prior to coming upon the station in geosynchronous orbit above the 3rd planet he rehashed in his mind what he had learned about events there and had already told the wedding party he was bringing. #1 A group of humans had unleashed a deadly virus upon the station in hopes of wiping out the non-human community on board while at the same time many humans as well had died of it. #2 The humans on board the station had become suspicious of the non-humans thinking they had brought the infection aboard and this had triggered a lot of racial tension culminating in hurled epitaths and beatings, reports were that although the virus had been contained and eradicated there was still a great deal of animosity simmering beneath the surface. #3 The presence of Klingons on board which he had been told were expected would almost certainly inflame tensions. He sighed and shook his head. The Bajorans had not been swayed and turned back at his warnings, he had to hand it to them, they were a tough-minded bunch. "Captain, Geneva is coming round the planets profile." He glanced back at the screen and noted the fighters that were escorting them in, the communication with the squadron leader had been short and terse, you could tell that they had been going through some difficult times on the station since he was so tense, how long it would take before this died down was anyones guess. Twenty minutes later they were docked, the presence of two Klingon ships in dock along with the assorted ships undergoing repairs or being readied for launch seemed a strange and unusual sight. Smiling he tapped the comm button to notify his passengers of their arrival. "We are now docked at Geneva, you are free to disembark. A security detail is standing by to escort you to your quarters. Girabaldi out." --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Stardate: 2407.02.18 (USS Mystique - Ready Room - CO, Captain Saleke - 0930) With the greater part of ships business attended to last evening Saleke had spent the morning doing just what he had told Marto he would do, he had been on the communicator with HoD Morgot regarding the festivities that would be given for Travis 'Klingon style' on the 19th, according to Morgot it would be a party not to be missed. "Where will the gathering be held?" He asked the Klingon on the monitor. (Reply: Morgot) "All that remains then is to set the time, are there any special arrangements that need to be made beyond what we have already discussed?" (Reply: Morgot) "Very well," The Vulcan sat back in his chair and watched Morgot closely. "According to Geneva security the Klingons involved in the brawl in the Lounge last night were not of your ship Captain for which I am grateful, the restraint your crew showed was admirable. I am looking forward to the 'Bachelor' party then, if there is anything else you can think of to add feel free to do so." (Reply: Morgot) "Good day then Captain I will speak to you tomorrow morning." Saleke signed off and was about to issue a call to the ships personnel involved in the altercation for a debriefing when the monitor showed an incoming message. "Computer display message." A man of oriental ancestry appeared wearing a resplendant Star Fleet uniform, the boxed double pips on his collar showed he was a Rear Admiral. =^= Captain Saleke?=^= "This is Captain Saleke admiral." The man gave a thin smile then. =^= Captain I am Rear Admiral Hikagi attached to Admiral LoDona's office, I need you to come to my office, we have something important to discuss.=^= The Vulcan wondered if it perhaps might be something to do with the scuffle which the ships personnel had been involved in and he was never too shy to ask a direct question. "Is this about the brawl in the Lounge last evening admiral? I have not yet had a chance to debrief my personnel." The man chuckled at that. =^= No captain, it's something else entirely, I will be expecting you shortly.=^= "I am on my way admiral." He stood up as the transmission ended. ~Odd.~ ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Stardate: 2407.02.18 (Starbase Geneva - Admirality offices, Office of Rear Admiral Hikagi - CO, Captain Saleke - 0950) The way to the admirality offices was not particularly ardurous to find or difficult to circumnavigate but there had been some time spent getting through the security checks which had been enacted since the bedlam on the station within the last week caused by the release of the virus and resultant rioting, Saleke had finally been met by an aide in the admirals office and escorted the rest of the way, upon entering the office he walked to the admirals desk and bowed slightly from the waist with a perfect inclination of his head to show his respect to the man before saying. "Captain Saleke reporting as ordered admiral." "Sit down," The man said in rising, his ghost of a grin hiding something. As Saleke took the seat Admiral Hikagi took a padd which had been lying upon the polished desk and handed it to him. "You will be needing this Captain." Saleke took it with a raised eyebrow. "And what is IT that I shall be needing admiral?" The mans grin got wider, "That is the technical specifications for your new ship Captain." "New ship?" An eyebrow rose to a point in response. "Yes, new ship." The admiral stood to his feet and walked to a holodisplay and activated it, blips in many colors came up in an area approximately four feet wide, by six feet long by eight feet high. "What you are seeing Captain is the Federation core systems with those aligned with Doenitz in red and those with us in green, Doenitz fleet ships in yellow and ours in blue, non-aligned worlds are purple..." he described in detail every last facet of the display. The current fleet operations then were minutely detailed in space before him. "As you can see Doenitz has taken some powerful blows but he still has a lot of weaponry at his beck and call, a lot of ships..." he tailed off. "Doenitz is losing them faster than he can replace them but he still has a powerful force, we're in better shape with the ones we've been able to commission here as well as those salvaged from the battles and with the help of the Klingons are well matched with Federation Prime." He swept his arm across the display. "As you can see though our main objective since he began forced pacification of member worlds has been that of a war footing and we need experienced captains to command ships designed to fulfill those mission parameters." Saleke nodded at the direction Hikagi was going. ~Logical.~ "The orders are not yet final BUT I have been instructed by Admiral LoDona to draw up the orders for an exchange of command personnel and crew from the Mystique to the new Prometheus class Attack Cruiser, you are therefore officially notified of your change of orders. There is still some work being done to get the Hades ready for launch, you are to detail your experienced engineering crew to Spacedock Phoenix to assist in the preparation of the ship. Do you have any questions at this time?" "Yes admiral, I have one comment," Saleke spoke up. "I would not logically classify myself as an experienced starship captain either by length of service or record." Hikagi shook his head. "Normally you would be correct but your service record is explicit Saleke, you left the academy and were put in position on one of our finest ships as the CSO and acquitted yourself with distinction, Devan Sash made it clear he was delighted with your work, attitude, insight, maturity and presence and promoted you quickly to his command line. When on board the Archimedes you took command of the vessel by example and leadership when Kestra Troi was unable to function in that capacity after your team had boarded and taken it. Kestra's report noted she was giving you a command test but her actions from that time and her inability to fulfill her position as FO of the Nimitz casts doubt on that report. You were the one who took control of the situation when the Alamo attacked the trawler and were able to render it's main weapon ineffective when it fired it's matter/anti-matter warhead at the trawler. In short you were in command of the ship during a do or die engagement and brought your ship through." Saleke said nothing at the admirals synopsis, it was a matter of record. "While on the Mystique as First officer you filled in as CO during Captain Winters incapacitation not once but twice .. and were put in command at LoDona's orders a third time, your record during those missions was stellar and in the minds of the Admirality and on record you are listed as Captain of choice for this ship. Are there any other questions?" He shook his head. "Negative Admiral, the orders are perfectly clear." ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- end compile
