Ahmed Ibn Salid & SC Khoda Rhone, Day 8-1944) --------------------------------------------------------------------- (USS Rosenante- Observation Lounge - AFO - Lt Cmdr T'Larah Sullivan - 1636) "Relax commander, I'm certain that you had a very good reason for being tardy to my briefing." the Captain stated as he gestured away her hyper discipline. T'Larah stood at-ease and listened to the Captains non-dressing down. "I wanted to discuss with you some standing orders that I want you to adhere to, during our upcoming operation." he finished. "Standing orders, understood." she echoed. "First I want to make it clear that you are to make this ship and those serving aboard her your first priority. If you encounter stiff Irlixian military action you are to withdraw back to Federation space." Ahmed held up a hand just as T'Larah opened her mouth to object. "This first order is not negotiable, Commander. So don't push the issue with me on this one." "Understood, the ship and her crew are the first priority." she said. "Secondly, If we manage to succeed in our portion of the mission, we will need to be able to recover the away teams quickly and efficiently, so therefore if you are forced to engage Irlixian ships, you are to draw them away from the planet, disable them and then return. You are to do everything within your power to minimize and if possible prevent the deaths of any Irlixians on those ships." he said. "Some tactics are already forming in my mind, sir." she responded. "Third, should I be killed or captured, I want you to personally hand deliver a report that I will leave in the ship's safe to the head of the federation Diplomatic Corps. We have an obligation to these people and I don't want that obligation forgotten just because I may not be here to force the issue." he said regrettably. "Sir, you do plan on coming back, don't you?" she inquired. "Of course, these are merely plans to discuss possible failures of the mission. I do not plan on failing this operation. Do you have any questions, Commander?" he said. "None." she answered simply. When he dismissed her, she set about the task of preparing the ship for battle. (Reply Ahmed, but not necessary) (Posted by Todd) --------------------------------------------------------------------- (USS Rosenante- Observation Lounge – aCMO- Ens Kimiko Ichijo -day 8- 1647) Kimiko caught up with Ios, after the briefing. “I am curious about the illness experienced by your mother and the crewmember of the crashed starship” The doctor stated. “I was wondering if you had a few minutes to discuss any knowledge that you might have of those events” (Reply Ios) Kimiko adjusted her pace to match the taller women. She watched Ios expressive face and marveled how similar certain nuances seemed to spread across the species barrier. Of course, if the captain was right and there was a great deal of circumstantial evidence to support that claim, there was extra-species contamination with a high profile figure. It would be very interesting to see how varied the Rhone microexpressions with the touch points of the other three countries. Kimiko replied “If you don’t mind, I would like to continue this in my office, in order to have access to some of the older records.” (Reply Ios) --------------------------------------------------------------------- (USS Rosenante- Observation Lounge - CIV Ios Malinae- Day 7- 1648) To say that the briefing had been interesting would have been an understatement. To say that it was informative was even three times as false. There were so many ideas running through Ios' head that once the captain had dismissed the crew Ios had simply left the compartment along with everyone else, although she wasn't certain where she would go or what she would do for the next few hours. There was so much to see, think about and experience that she was almost overwhelmed with the sheer volume of new experiences. "I am curious about the illness experienced by your mother and the crewmember of the crashed starship" The doctor, Kimiko, stated as she caught up to the Irlixian scientist. "I was wondering if you had a few minutes to discuss any knowledge that you might have of those events." Ios looked at the woman, whose face and heritage was obviously much different from those of her shipmates, or at least of those that Ios had seen. Ios Smiled, thinking of the diversity between the Federation crew gave her hope that her own people could one day rise beyond the racial limitations that they posed upon each other simply because of their heritage. "I suppose so." She replied still smiling, "My mother told me stories of the time that she spoke with the human doctor." "If you don't mind, I would like to continue this in my office, in order to have access to some of the older records." Ios shook her head, " No that's fine. I would like to see your office anyway." she offered. --------------------------------------------------------------------- (USS Rosenante- CMO office – aCMO- Ens Kimiko Ichijo -day 8- 1649) Kimiko offered the Ixian a seat. “Would you like something to drink, I’m afraid that I don’t have any Ixian beverages programmed. Come to think of it, I need the recipe for that dark blue drink that I had at the manor, very delicious. There was another drink that resembled umm… orange tea, a bit” Kimiko stated (Reply Ios) “Tea is leaves of certain plants steeped in hot water, the orange tea is a variant of those leaves that have a flavor resembling a fruit” Kimiko explained. (Reply Ios) The doctor returned with two cups of liquid, setting one in front of her guest , she had a seat. Kimiko gave Ios a moment to get comfortable and asked. “Did your mother ever mention the name of her human friend?” Kimiko smiled and stated “I don’t suppose that we would be lucky enough to know the name of the affliction?” (Reply Ios) “I thought not” The doctor sat back and tapped her finger against the desk ~now for my favorite game; pathogen ’is it bigger then a breadbox’. ~ “Only one crewmember was infected?” ~Definitely something that she brought with her,~ Kimiko sunk into deeper thought ~Thirty years ago, diseases that were treated, but not cured. Almost assuredly, viral.~ “What were the symptoms?” (Reply Ios) The doctor glanced up. ~High fever , vomiting and nausea, not much to work with there, that could be anything from Mononucleosis to Ruxian swamp fever; however mononucleosis would explain swollen lymph glands~ “What else do you recall about her condition?” The doctor asked (Reply Ios) “Bloody sputum and seizures?” Kimiko asked, shaking her head. ~Well, on certain underdeveloped worlds, Tuberculosis is still a recurring illness, but doesn’t explain seizures~ (Reply Ios) “I’m sorry, what?” Kimiko replied (Reply Ios) “Oh, umm. Sputum is a mixture of mucus and saliva. The fluid involvement signifies that there was a pneumonic component, which is most likely the vector of your mother’s infection.” The doctor mentally evaluated each symptom and dismissed most of the diseases that came to mind, until there was one most likely candidate, except that Rigelian fever was not recurring and if it was an initial infection, the virus would spread among the crew and undoubtedly the ixians like a wildfire. ~However…..~ The doctor leaned forward “Computer” Kimiko stated “What is the current treatment for full onset of Rigelian fever for adult human female” [ current treatment protocol is .5 micrograms Ryetalyn per kilogram, 3 times in a 24 hour period. The course lasts for a 14 day period ……] ~I seem to recall, .25micros per, times four for a week. Yet another change. I am really beginning to hate time travel~ Kimiko shook her head ruefully “What was the regimen for full onset Rigelian fever, thirty years ago” [Single dose of one milligram of Ryetalyn, followed five year course of …..] ~a mig of …. Goodness, I guess chemo lives on~ “Thank you, end” Kimiko looked back at Ios “Well, that answers that, I am confident that both Dr Brown and your mother were infected with Rigelian fever” (Reply Ios) “No, I don’t think that it is a factor anymore. It won’t flare after such a long time. The pathogen is very stable and has a fairly low contagious life, an infinitesimal chance of drift and none at all of infecting the away parties or prisoners” Kimiko stood and offered her hand to Ios “I thank you for your time” Kimiko stated. (Reply Ios) (Posted by Jack) --------------------------------------------------------------------- (USS Rosenante- CMO's Office - CIV Ios Malinae- Day 7- 1650) The office was smaller than Ios had expected, but when she considered the obviously limited space available on a starship, that made a certain degree of sense to her. The Doctor offered her a seat and Ios sat down in it with a smile and a nod. "Would you like something to drink, I'm afraid that I don't have any Irlixian beverages programmed. Come to think of it, I need the recipe for that dark blue drink that I had at the manor, very delicious. There was another drink that resembled umm. orange tea, a bit" Kimiko stated. "Orange tea?" Ios asked. "Tea is leaves of certain plants steeped in hot water, the orange tea is a variant of those leaves that have a flavor resembling a fruit" Kimiko explained. "Ah..." Ios replied with a nod, "That sounds pleasant. Could I try some?" The Doctor stepped over to a replicator than any that Ios had seen. There was no wonder that the federation Technology was so advanced; not when they could make such small versions of such powerful machines. The Doctor returned with two steaming cups of liquid and placed it on the desk in front of Ios. The Irlixian reached out, picked up the cup, which was quite warm, and smelled of the liquid before taking a sip. It was a rich and intimate flavor, well balanced between sweet and bitter, with a hint of plant and a mild sweetness that was somewhat tangy. Ios smacked her lips in appreciation and smiled. "mmmm." she intoned. "Did your mother ever mention the name of her human friend?" Asked smiling. "Yes." Ios replied with a nod, "Her name was Helen baker. She was a Doctor like you." "I don't suppose that we would be lucky enough to know the name of the affliction?" A single shake of Ios' head confirmed that she did not. "I thought not" The doctor sat back and tapped her finger against the desk "Only one crewmember was infected?" "Yes, the Doctor. And it only started a year or so after she was interned at the facility. "What were the symptoms?" the doctor pressed in her professional curiosity. "Increase in body temperature, stomach incontinence, and motion sensitivity." Ios replied. The doctor glanced up. "What else do you recall about her condition?" The doctor asked. "My mother said that her lungs bled and that she suffered from severe periodic shaking of her limbs and that sometimes during that shaking her eyes would roll up into her sockets. "Bloody sputum and seizures?" Kimiko asked, shaking her head. "What is sputum?" Ios asked. "I'm sorry, what?" Kimiko replied "What is sputum?" Ios asked again, although she was loathe to repeat herself. "Oh, umm. Sputum is a mixture of mucus and saliva. The fluid involvement signifies that there was a pneumonic component, which is most likely the vector of your mother's infection." Kimiko seemed to be in deep thought for a short while before she leaned forward and spoke again, this time to the computer. "Computer" Kimiko stated "What is the current treatment for full onset of Rigelian fever for an adult human female" [ current treatment protocol is .5 micrograms Ryetalyn per kilogram, 3 times in a 24 hour period. The course lasts for a 14 day period ..] Kimiko shook her head ruefully "What was the regimen for full onset Rigelian fever, thirty years ago" [Single dose of one milligram of Ryetalyn, followed five year course of ...] "Thank you, end" Kimiko looked back at Ios "Well, that answers that, I am confident that both Dr Baker and your mother were infected with Rigelian fever" "Is it dangerous?" "No, I don't think that it is a factor anymore. It won't flare after such a long time. The pathogen is very stable and has a fairly low contagious life, an infinitesimal chance of drift and none at all of infecting the away parties or prisoners" Kimiko stood and offered her hand to Ios. Ios took it. "I thank you for your time" Kimiko stated. "You are most welcome doctor. I am glad that you found the answer to your question." Ios replied and then taking that as a dismissal, left the office to explore more of the ship. Sam then looked at the EMH"Your services are no longer required Computer deactivate EMH"Sam said as the EMH disappeared from sickbay.~time to get ready for the away mission~ (Reply by none) (Posted by shawn) --------------------------------------------------------------------- (USS Rosenante - Main Engineering - ACEO - Lieutenant Steven Matrix, Day 8, 1735) Matrix reviewed the schematics of the Irlixian Supreme Commander's office complex and devised a plan to get into the facility. He noted the likely location of intel that might shed light on the whereabouts of the Hostages. Printed documents or a computer console would be ideal, but he hadn't ruled out the possibility of interrogating an Irlixian if the opportunity presented itself. Matrix also noted the most obvious prime locations of their defense shields. Hopefully his knowledge of engineering systems would greatly benefit the mission, engineering principles would apply to Irlixian civilization as well as Star Fleet so there should be similarities in design and function. Matrix downloaded the mission plan to four PADDs and put them in his away bag. He also included two hand phasers and two tricorders along with the usual away essentials plus a few additional items. Ships stores had already perfected the indigenous clothing of the Irlixians so Matrix pre-selected a set of Irlixian military uniforms for his away team. He hoped it would help them blend in. They would try to be covert and avoid any contact, but the uniforms could help sell their presents should they be discovered. Matrix rubbed him shoulder and adjusted his sling. The medication the EMH gave him earlier was starting to take effect and the sling wasn't an option on this mission. Somehow a Star Fleet issue medical sling wouldn't look right on an Irlixian, or someone pretending to be Irlixian. =^= Matrix to Sanok, Nunez and Smith. This was his first "official" away mission. ~If you don't count crash-landing on an alien planet and interrupting an undercover Starfleet mission.~ But he had a specific task to perform here, and captured Starfleet Officers' lives depended on his performance. He wasn't nervous--he was rarely anxious over anything tactical, especially when it included an element of physical activity. But he was excited. "Reporting as ordered, Sir," he said to Rosenbauer, and stepped on the transporter pad with the others. After he and Ios had worked together to program his tactical holoprogram, the teams had been able to run through two quick runs with possible scenarios. He had also been able to quick-prototype a EM jamming device small enough to fit in everyone's pockets. Feeling pretty useful for his second day as a part of the crew and first day aboard the ship, Eian's spirits were up and he couldn't wait to get the Bohrs crew home. His mood improved when he patted his phaser. ~Pays to be prepared` Jackson thought. He reviewed the tri-corder settings and made sure it worked. He had also secured a field emergency medical kit. He prayed he would not need it it but yet he had had a bad feeling and could not shake it. "Hi skipper, we all set?" he asked Salid. Tom was still unsure of what was to occur once on the surface/ (reply: CO) (posted by: Bill) --------------------------------------------------------------------- (USS Rosenante- Transporter Room 1 - CO, Captain Ahmed Ibn Salid, Day 8 - 1759.5) The doors to the Transporter room slid open and Lieutenant Jackson stepped through them and into the transporter room. He was carrying his normal gear and seemed to be in good spirits. Ahmed knew that the next order was most likely going to be unpleasant for Jackson, but Sullivan had just finalized a request and Ahmed could not in good conscious leave the ship without fulfilling that request. "Hi skipper, we all set?" he asked Salid. Ahmed smiled at his oldest friend before answering. "Just about. I'm waiting on Remey to report in." he replied reservedly. He paused for a moment before continuing, "Tom, there's been a slight alteration of plans." he explained a moment later. (Reply Jackson) "I've decided that you're not going on the Away team after all. Commander Sullivan has requested you stay aboard the Rosenante to coordinate the Operations Department for the mission and that you be available should she need your expertise during the battle to keep things running. I can not deny the commander her request. You have experience and skill and have been proven more than a few times as a stable and skilled operations officer when things have turned sour. I need you on the bridge, helping Commander Sullivan make certain we can get home when this is all over." The modified tricorder unit he had ordered had taken more time than he had anticipated. He was wearing what appeared to be a set of spectacles but the lenses were clear. The 'specs' were along the lines of a HUD and would be fed data by the actual tricorder he wore attached to his belt. That tricorder by the way could be used in a normal fashion but its default setting was set to scan for biosignsigns and he would turn it on immrdiately upon arrival on the planet. This served his stated intent of stealth though it would be a bit unweildy. Any biosigns would be displayed before his eyes on the lenses of his glasses in a 'line of sight' which meant that to read one he would have to turn in their direction for a few seconds. The actual scanning signal could be picked up amd register of course but he wouldn't have to overtly handle the unit. The captain was speaking to Lt. Jackson as he arrived but didn't miss his entrance, the man didn't look pleased. Louis grit his teeth in embarassment and gave a curt nod to him as he stepped onto the padd and let out a small sigh. Logically, the Co was right. Tom was wary of having Robbie and he both on AWAY missions. His other staff were competent but he felt better if he or Robbie were on-board to keep an eye on things. Robbie was young and probably more qualified to play cloak and danger. His reactions were a tad faster than Tom's were. He knew he had proved himself on many away missions and really wasn't upset to remain onboard. "I am glad to assist Commander Sullivan. Between the two of us we will keep the Rose intact and be ready to yank the teams back when needed Sir" Tom replied. (reply: Captain) Tom turned and left the Transporter Room. He purged his mind of all thoughts not in line with the task ahead. This part of the mission, where they were actually making their moves to rescue the imprisoned Starfleet personnel, would be the most dangerous, though the away team had already experienced danger the first trip to Irlix. Time passed, and Sanok's eyes opened at the sound of the doors hissing open. It was Nunez. Closing his eyes, he resumed his preparations, but a few minutes later, the doors opened again. This time, it was Matrix. A minute after that, Smith arrived. Taking a deep cleansing breath, Sanok waited for the order to leave the ship. She motioned for him to take a seat next to Jackson. (Reply Jackson, Dralar) "Before we started our mission I wanted to speak with both of you. I wanted to make sure that you both were aware of what I expect of both of you before and after the mission. I know that you both will perform your jobs with the best of your ability, as I expect the same stellar job you do for Captain Salid. I'm going to get a little more specific." (Reply Jackson, Dralar) "Mister Jackson prior to the mission I want you to coordinate with the engineering crews and the damage control teams. We need to ensure that everything is ready for us to go into combat, because the odds of us doing so are very certain. During the mission I will need you to pay particular attention to computer security. The Irlixians have tried and succeeded in using the tactic before, and they are not going to on the Rosenante." (Reply Jackson, room for more, questions) "Excellent, I'm glad you understand me." she said and turned to Lieutenant Dralar. "Which brings me to you Mister Dralar. I will need the most intensive diagnostic of the navigational and propulsion systems that you can muster in less then one hour, and with out dropping the cloak." (Reply Dralar) "You oversaw a level 2 diagnostic before the start of the mission? How far before the mission?" she inquired. ~A level 2 is just short of taking every piece apart and scanning them by hand.~ (Reply Dralar) "That should be adequate if you follow it up with a level 4 which is still automated, but intensive enough to ensure we are still performing at top efficiency. With the likely hood of combat I will be requiring tight and intense evasive maneuvers, I know you are up to the challenge." ~I had never thought about why Dralar is such a good pilot. It may have something to do with his avian background.~ (Reply Dralar, room for more) "You have your tasks. I will ensure our weapons and shields are ready for action. "Mister Dralar, if you can join us please?" Sullivan motioned for him to take a seat next to Jackson. The Skorr Helmsman rose from his place and was quickly replaced by another officer. He moved over to the indicated seat and perched there. "Of course Commander" he replied as he settled into place, careful to protect his tail feathers. "Before we started our mission I wanted to speak with both of you. I wanted to make sure that you both were aware of what I expect of both of you before and after the mission. I know that you both will perform your jobs with the best of your ability, as I expect the same stellar job you do for Captain Salid. I'm going to get a little more specific." Sullivan explained. Dralar cocked his head in acknowledgement and listened. (reply Jackson) "Mister Jackson prior to the mission I want you to coordinate with the engineering crews and the damage control teams. I will need the most intensive diagnostic of the navigational and propulsion systems that you can muster in less then one hour, and with out dropping the cloak." "We completed a Level Two Diagnostic of those same systems just prior to the start of our current mission commander." Dralar responded at Lieutenant Jackson's direction. "You oversaw a level 2 diagnostic before the start of the mission? How far before the mission?" she inquired. "Less than forty-eight hours before departure from the station, sir." Dralar replied. "That should be adequate if you follow it up with a level 4 which is still automated, but intensive enough to ensure we are still performing at top efficiency. With the likelihood of combat I will be requiring tight and intense evasive maneuvers, I know you are up to the challenge." "Understood Commander. I will put the flight team on to the task immediately. You can depend upon my to perform as you require." He replied with a clicking of his beak. "You have your tasks. I will ensure our weapons and shields are ready for action. Let me know if you have any concerns, I'll be right here. Gentlemen, to your stations." she said. Dralar rose from the seat and stalked towards the CONN station, assuming it as the standby officer vacated the chair. Once there, Dralar sent the orders from the console to the Flight team to put the level fours diagnostics into immediate affect. It would take a little while to have the results back from the tests, but he already knew that the Rosenante, his warship, would be ready for anything that the Irlixians thought they could throw their way. They would rue the day that they made war on the federation with a Prince of Skorr at the helm. (reply Jackson, Sullivan) Daniel Greene --------------------------------------------------------------------- (Seliya facility - Holding Block - Engineering Officer - Lieutenant Doug Masters - 1835) The guards threw Doug back in his cell. He had long forgotten how long he had been here. Old and new bruises peppered his back, shoulders and abdomen from the 'questionings'. "Maybe next time you'll talk." one of the guards sneered as they slammed the cell door. Doug spat out a mouth full of blood, "Only if you stop hitting me like a girl." Doug shot back, still defiant. "If I wanted a kiss I would have called your sister." he smiled through bloody red teeth. As the guards faded out of site Doug collapsed, and nearly passed out. He was roused what was probably moments later that actually felt like hours. (Reply EMH) "What, an EMH, am I back on a star ship?" he mumbled a question. (Reply EMH) (posted by Todd) --------------------------------------------------------------------- (Seliya facility, Holding Block, EMH Mark I, Day 8-1836) The EMH activated in the next cell that it could identify as being occupied by a prisoner. The man in the cell looked as if he had been worked over by members of the Nausicaan Weightlifting team. He was badly battered and bruised, and barely conscious. The Doctors programming subroutines kicked into action and immediately he moved to aid the Lieutenant. "Easy Lieutenant, I've got you." he said as he helped the man to sit upright. He leaned him against the wall. "What? an EMH? Am I back on a star ship?" he mumbled. "You could not be so lucky lieutenant. You are in fact in a holding cell on an unknown planet." The EMH replied. "You are also suffering from several contusions, lacerations and some minor swelling of the occipital lobe. You have a concussion." (reply Masters) Daniel Greene --------------------------------------------------------------------- Seliya facility - Holding Block - Engineering Officer - Lieutenant Doug Masters - 1836.5*) "You could not be so lucky lieutenant. You are in fact in a holding cell on an unknown planet." The EMH replied. "You are also suffering from several contusions, lacerations and some minor swelling of the occipital lobe. You have a concussion." "Well I don't know so little about medicine that I don't know what cuts and bruises are, but what's the occipital lobe?" Doug asked as the fog was lifting from his mind. (Reply EMH) "That would explain the blurred vision then. You got anything for this headache?" he asked. (Reply EMH) Doug looked around to ensure there were no guards around. "Well if they are letting a Federation EMH tend to us, there is probably a few survivors. How many more have you tended?" (Reply EMH) "That's not very many. Who is the other guy,how is he doing? Have you seen the Captain?" (Reply EMH) "Ben is still alive? And they didn't kick the crap outta him like they did me? They probably don't know his occupation. He'd look like me, but with out all the questions they asked me." he said. (Reply EMH) "Yeah that was sort of my fault. I don't take to captivity well, so I provoked them." he said. (Reply EMH) "Their universal translator was working when I spoke rather fondly about their mother and her prowess. The first couple of days they didn't do that, they were asking alot of questions about what I do and what I thought would be the most influential technological advance in our age. (Reply EMH) "Yeah I figured that out yesterday, but it seemed like a good idea at the time." he admitted. "At least I can take solace in the fact that they won't make heads or tails of the power transfer conduits." he grinned while the doctor worked on some of his deeper cuts. "I have that thing bypassed like a Christmas tree." (Reply EMH) After he finished, his tricorder disappeared it looked like he was getting ready to go. "Well if you talk to any of the other prisoners from our ship, can you get them a message?" (Reply EMH) "Let them know that I want to start an escape plan." he said. (Reply EMH) (Posted by Todd) --------------------------------------------------------------------- (Seliya facility, Holding Block, ATAC/SEC Lt. jg Ben Soma, 1837) Fornix frowned. "I'm not one of those types that enjoy causing pain or discomfort. I'm a soldier, just doing my duty." He replied. Ben had figured as much from thier initial meeting, the guard had tried to talk him down without threatening injury or anything else that would inflict severe pain or discomfort. Ben could use this to his advantage given enough time, he might be able to convince Fornix to help him in the near future.  "If your people hadn't invaded our space, we wouldn't be having this conversation." Fornix stated, "In fact, I'd probably be trying to get you drunk and talking about women, except after what I just heard, the latter may not be such a good idea." "For the record we didn't invade your space." Ben stated without any hint of emotion. "We are a society of explorers, we seek out new life to form alliances that mutually benefit all parties. Our people and yours simply got off on the wrong foot, your government may have misunderstood our intentions." Ben paused for a moment before continuing. "I would have liked to take you up on that offer of a drink, maybe sometime in the future if we manage to work out our diverences in a civil manner we might get the chance. As for the women, there are precautions that can be taken to prevent any diseases." "As for my Job, " Fornix shrugged in a very human gesture, "Sometimes I do and sometimes I don't. But that's just the way it goes sometimes. And what about you Ben, what exactly is your job in your culture? And do you enjoy it?" Ben carefully considered his response before speaking, revealing his true occupation may not be wise at this point. He was limited to his options just the same, uniforms hadn't changed alot in the last couple centuries and those prisoners who were here for a while were no doubt catelogued as to thier different functions. He could only go with OPS or Engineering, he decided Engineering was the best option as he did have some engineering training as well as what he had learned on his parents freighter. He would most likely pass any test, but he wouldn't be declared a miracle worker by any means. "I was an engineer on a starship before my abduction. I was taking a little personal time to sort out a few things. And yes I do enjoy my job, I find it both challenging and rewarding." Ben said with a smile. "I hope to get back to it in the future." Ben decided to try and keep his guard engaged in chit chat, he might learn something. In the least it would help pass the time. "You mentioned women Fornix." He started. "Tell me do you have a family, wife, children, or a girlfriend?" (reply Fornix) (posted by Milo Young) --------------------------------------------------------------------- (Seliya facility, Holding Block, EMH Mark I, Day 8-1838) "Well I don't know so little about medicine that I don't know what cuts and bruises are, but what's the occipital lobe?" Doug asked as the fog was lifting from his mind. "The Occipital lobe is primarily responsible for processing your visual stimuli into something that your mind can understand." The EMH replied "That would explain the blurred vision then. You got anything for this headache?" he asked. "Indeed it would." The holographic doctor said with a nod of its holographic head. He conjured an air hypo filled with a mild pain killer and anti-inflammatory. He pressed the Air hypo to the man's neck and delivered the drugs. "You should start noticing a decrease in the discomfort and the blurred vision very quickly." Doug looked around to ensure there were no guards around. "Well if they are letting a Federation EMH tend to us, there are probably a few survivors. How many more have you tended?" "Just two." The EMH Replied. "That's not very many. Who is the other guy, how is he doing? Have you seen the Captain?" "I can only assume that you mean Lieutenant Soma." The Doctor responded, "He is well although he also suffered a minor concussion. "Ben is still alive? And they didn't kick the crap outta him like they did me? They probably don't know his occupation. He'd look like me, but with out all the questions they asked me." he said. "That is a distinct possibility Lieutenant. Especially since you humans don't quite understand the importance of not provoking your captors to fits of uncontrollable rage." "Yeah that was sort of my fault. I don't take to captivity well, so I provoked them." he said. "Imagine that." The EMH replied with a mock sigh. "Their universal translator was working when I spoke rather fondly about their mother and her prowess. The first couple of days they didn't do that, they were asking a lot of questions about what I do and what I thought would be the most influential technological advance in our age. I wouldn't answer them, and after a few days I started talking about their maternal care-giver." he explained. "I'm certain that endeared you to them. In fact I'd say that any reasonably civilized species would be just as forgiving and amiable towards such disparate remarks." "Yeah I figured that out yesterday, but it seemed like a good idea at the time." he admitted. "At least I can take solace in the fact that they won't make heads or tails of the power transfer conduits." he grinned while the doctor worked on some of his deeper cuts. "I have that thing bypassed like a Christmas tree." "Yes, well. About that..." The EMH responded. "It seems that there was very nearly an antimatter explosion , which required Lieutenant Nakamura to arrive and shut it down. I don't suppose that would have anything to do with your festive holiday engineering, Hmmm?" The doctor finished sterilizing and using the dermal regenerator on the injury before unsummoning it and putting away his tricorder as well. "You will survive lieutenant, provided that you refrain from further remarks about Irlixian conjugal rites" "Well if you talk to any of the other prisoners from our ship, can you get them a message?" "Certainly." the EMH replied. "Let them know that I want to start an escape plan." he said. The EMH nodded. "I will pass along your message, even if it is foolhardy." The EMH started to disengage, but then a realization found its way through his logic protocols and he paused. "I would, of course, need to know which ship you're referring to, Lieutenant, since I am from the Medea and to my knowledge only Lieutenant Nakamura remains as an active member of that crew." (reply Masters) Daniel Greene --------------------------------------------------------------------- (Seliya facility, Holding Block, Guard, Lieutenant Fornix, Day 8-1839) "I was an engineer on a starship before my abduction. "You mentioned women Fornix." He started. "Tell me do you have a family, wife, children, or a girlfriend?" Fornix nodded. A smile broadened across his face. "I do in fact. I am happily married, have three girlfriends and father to 16 children, ten boys and six girls." He reached into his pocket and withdrew a small leather folded album. He flipped it open to the display and the screen came to life slowly cycling through the images of his family. "This is my Wife, Ala and my Girlfriend Sasina, along with my daughters Gira and Nomisa and my oldest son Nivar." He explained as the image became one of a make-shift small family pose. (reply Soma) He pressed his thumb against the reader and the picture changed again. "And this one is Hola and Mirosa, my other two girlfriends. They were shopping on that day." he explained, "and then there's a picture of all my children together last summer at the lake house. Kitz is quite a swimmer, I suspect he'll be an athlete someday." (reply Soma) "And what about you? Are you married? Have any Girlfriends or children?" (reply Soma) Daniel Greene --------------------------------------------------------------------- (Seliya facility, Holding Block,ATAC/SEC Lt. jg Ben Soma, Day 8-1841) Ben watched as Fornix produced a photo album and began cycling through pictures of his family introducing them as they appeared. He had a lot of children, married and had three girlfriends. There was a time when a man could be in a lot of trouble in Fornix's shoes. But he assumed it was the norm here on what ever planet he was on so he didn't question it. "This is my Wife, Ala and my Girlfriend Sasina, along with my daughters Gira and Nomisa and my oldest son Nivar." He explained as the image became one of a make-shift small family pose. "They look very happy." Ben said as he examined the image. "You have a large family by my standards Fornix." "And this one is Hola and Mirosa, my other two girlfriends. They were shopping on that day." he explained, "and then there's a picture of all my children together last summer at the lake house. Kitz is quite a swimmer, I suspect he'll be an athlete someday." "You might be right, if he truely enjoys it. Give him encouragement and praise to help guide him. A father is important to a young boy, though he may not always show it. My father always told me he was proud of me, encouraged me to find my own path." Ben found that talking about his father brought back mixed feelings for him, it wasn't a subject he spoke of much. Most times it brought back pain, but this time it was different partialy due to Fornix's pictures and apparent pride in his family. "And what about you? Are you married? Have any Girlfriends or children?" Ben knew this question was comming, after all he did open this particular can of worms. The old saying goes that once the genie is released from the lamp it's almost impossible to put him back in. "I'm not married with any children." Ben replied. "I do have a girlfriend." Ben paused and sucked in a deep breath, he found this was also a painful subject. Everyone he cared about in his life had been torn from him at some point and never heard from again. His parents were taken by the Borg, Sonak had been reassigned while he was in a coma, and he didn't have any idea where Marah was. He missed his friend, missed his Vulcan logic and his guidance. He missed Marah for countless reasons, she was a distraction, she comforted him, she understood him. He wasn't aware of the fact that he was now looking at the floor, when he looked back up at Fornix he felt a tear esscape the corner of his eye. "We met on shore leave. A friend of mine convinced me to take a break, if she hadn't approached me I would never have spoken to her." He added and let out a small sigh. "Now I have no idea where she is or even if she is still alive." (reply Fornix) (posted by Milo Young)  --------------------------------------------------------------------- (Seliya facility, Holding Block, Guard, Lieutenant Fornix, Day 8-1842) "I'm not married with any children." Ben replied. "I do have a girlfriend." The human started looking at the floor, when he looked back up at Fornix, a tear escaped the corner of his eye. "We met on shore leave. A friend of mine convinced me to take a break, if she hadn't approached me I would never have spoken to her." He added and let out a small sigh. "Now I have no idea where she is or even if she is still alive." "That is a very sad thing. Ben. We should always cherish those that we love." Fornix replied somberly. "I think that you will probably be released back to your people once your government apologizes to mine. Then perhaps we can be friends and have a drink. Maybe I will introduce you to some nice Irlixian women." There was a few moments of complete silence between them for a while, before Fornix spoke again. "How long have your people been space travelers?" He asked, "What amazing things have you seen? Have you seen many worlds? Are there wonders to behold? Is there God beyond the sky?" (reply Soma) Daniel Greene --------------------------------------------------------------------- (Seliya facility, Holding Block, ATAC/SEC Lt. jg Ben Soma-1844*) "How long have your people been space travelers?" He asked, "What amazing things have you seen? Have you seen many worlds? Are there wonders to behold? Is there God beyond the sky?" Fornix had broken a slightly aquard silent that had occured, Ben would have liked the chance to take him up on the offer of a drink and maybe meet his family. The thought of being introduced to Irlixian women was another matter, Ben was having mixed feelings about that prospect but wouldn't want to offend Fornix. So far they had developed a basis for a possible friendship in the future if things worked out favorably. "My people have been space travelers for centuries." Ben replied. "We started out with just us human's and formed the United Federation of Planets which now consists of many worlds and many species." Ben thought about the next question for a moment before answering. "There are wonders out there in space that defy explaination, sights are are both breathtaking and frightening at the same time. Gaseous nebulas that continualy change colour and shape. I haven't seen all the worlds of the Federation but I have seen my share." Now when it came to religious beliefs Ben felt unqualified to answer the question posed to him. "As for God, I haven't seen him yet. There is still alot of unexplored space out there and who knows what is waiting to be discovered. We have incountered a race that are God like in thier knowledge and power, we try our best to avoid them is possible. They have been very mischevious in the past." Ben then decided to ask question himself. "How long have your people been space travelers? What Dangers have you encountered." Ben emphasised dangers because if they haven't encoutered the ugly side of space travel yet they will eventualy. "Aye, Aye Commander" Jackson replied returning to his duty station to start his tasks. Tom sat down at OPs, relieving Chief Sheridan. He scanned his readouts as had become his habit. So far things were operating as he wanted them to. Tom sent a message to the Engineering Department. He wanted to alert them to what might be ahead. "Engineering - this is Lt Jackson" he transmitted. (reply: Engineering Department) "I wanted to alert you to some tasking we've received from the First Officer." Tom said. (reply: Engineering) "We should be prepared Damage Control wise - please let me know what systems we can use their power resources if push comes to shove. You know non-essential items" Jackson added. Tom knew pretty well what they were but he liked to ask the Engineers to confirm his vision. (reply: engineering) "Excellent - thanks in advance- Jackson out" Tom said in closing the link. He repeated the same line of thought with the Medical staff. As much as he hoped that no casualties would occur, he knew better and wanted to make sure Sick Bay had whatever it needed resource wise. (reply: any Dept's I've missed) (posted by Bill) --------------------------------------------------------------------- (Irlix, Khoda City- Civic Center, Supreme Commander Khoda Rhone- Day 8-1930) Khoda exited the vehicle immediately following Sevrith. The vehicle had pulled into the secured covered building where the Address was to be given. Teams of aides, security personnel and Special police swarmed around the area in a buzz of activity that reminded Rhone of earlier days aboard the Medea, when the engineering department was in action to fix some new issue that had cropped up on the ship. He smiled at the thought, smugly reminding himself of his superior intellect and ability to nearly single handedly save an entire species from self annihilation. After all how many Starfleet officers had managed to survive on a potentially hostile alien world, for nearly thirty years, while guiding it towards a unified government and social peace and integration. ~No one but I~ He told himself as he followed the head of the Elite forces across the open area between the arrival vehicle and the back stage area. He had been forced to delay the address due to a series of issues at the Facility that had nearly caused an unwanted warp core breach aboard the Bohrs. Only his intimate knowledge of the original warp systems diverted the catastrophe, although it had cost him an hour and a half. But it seemed that his people were content to await the rare glimpse of their savior, since the streets outside the building were filled with supporters who chanted his name with a reverence that was empowering. A simple announcement made it easy to let those loyal to his vision know that he would be delayed by important matters of state. Khoda, however empowered was still old. He was fast approaching sixty, and his lifestyle had not been as forgiving as the populace of this world had been. It took him longer to traverse the floor and climb the stairs than he would have liked and each step reminded him of the passage of years and the small difficulties that growing old on an alien world brought. "Supreme Commander", Sevrith was saying as Khoda topped the short stairwell to the back stage area proper. "please allow me to introduce Senior Detective Nigo of the secret police. He is the one that discovered the link between the Aliens and the crashed shuttle." Khoda turned his eyes to the Irlixian standing before him. He was a tall broad shouldered male, with small beady eyes and slight trace of a scar along the edge of his jawline. He looked hard and willing to kill for his beliefs. His eyes said that he was a fanatic and the sort that would follow Khoda to the end of the world if he simply commanded it to be done." "Did you serve in the war, Detective Nigo?" Khoda Asked. "I did Supreme Commander." he replied crisply and cleanly. There was a military precision to his words. "Which Unit?" Rhone asked. "The 123rd Western Guard." The detective replied with pride. "They saw a lot of fighting." Rhone commented, "Along the Baderine Line. A hard fight there." "We served proudly to preserve our nation, Supreme Commander." Nigo Replied. Khoda smiled. "Yes you did. And so do I. " He said with a nod, "I may yet have need of you Nigo. Continue to perform your duty as you always have and I will see to it that you are rewarded." "Your approval is thanks enough Supreme Commander." Nigo replied. Rhone smiled and placed his wrinkled hand on the detective's shoulder. "Then you have it senior detective, happily." The detective practically glowed with pride as his chest swelled to near capacity. "Thank you, sir. You honor me." "No more than you deserve detective. No more than you deserve." The old man then turned away from the ex-soldier and began his arduous journey towards the podium. The Civic center could hold almost 30,000 Irlixians. Because of security concerns, the Secret Police had limited the crowd to only 10,000 individuals which included many members of society as well as press and political aspirants. Civil servants, Intellectuals and social leaders were assembled in the area before him. The Video systems were set up and Khoda moved his way across the stage as they tracked his movement. Sevrith stopped a few feet behind the podium as Khoda began his speech. "My fellow countrymen..." (reply none) Daniel Greene --------------------------------------------------------------------- (RUS Starfall, Bridge, CO Fleet Commander Frazil, Day 8-1934) The fleet commander leaned forward as the main view screen still showed no sign of the enemy ship that lurked among the stars. For the better part of two days now, they had been hunting for the Federation Starship Rosenante, hoping to get close enough to it to launch the cyber attack that would cripple it's computer systems and cause the ship to fall into their hands. "Anything?" he growled again. "Nothing." came the reply. "Turn us about, Head for the planet!" he commanded. "Aye sir." (reply none) Daniel Greene --------------------------------------------------------------------- (USS Rosenante- Transporter Room 1 - CO, Captain Ahmed Ibn Salid, Day 8 - 1935) Waiting. It was never something that Ahmed liked to do. He was a man of action not inaction and he often found the prospect of waiting unpleasant. To actually be forced to wait was even worse. As the minutes ticked by, Ahmed began to worry that the Supreme Commander of the Rhone Union would cancel his planned speech for the evening, and that would throw every thing that Ahmed was gambling on right out the window. The Captain took to pacing slowly back and forth across the floor, calling up t the bridge periodically for an update. It was imperative that they not jump the gun and beam down before the Supreme Commander was where Ahmed wanted him to be, and the only way to be certain was to wait for him to begin his address. The only good thing about waiting was that eventually it ends. And as with every other time in his life, where Ahmed was forced to wait, this one also came to an end. Word reached him that Rhone had finally begun his address and that meant that they were back on track. Ahmed hopped back up onto the Transporter platform with a spring in his step as he tapped his commbadge. "Salid to all away teams. It looks like the head of the Rhone union has finally begun his address to his people, the first team will be beaming down in five minutes. Mister matrix's team will deploy ten minutes later, with Rosenbauer's team on standby to deploy as soon as the location of the hostages are known. Good Luck. Captain out." He looked up at Dawson, the young Transporter chief and smiled. "Notify commander Sullivan to start her clock as soon as we've beamed down, Chief." "Aye captain. I'll do it." Ahmed nodded. "Mister Remey, are you ready?" (reply Remey) Ahmed smiled, "Then I'd say we have a party to crash." (reply Remey) He turned to the transporter chief. "Mister Dawson. If you'd be so kind as to put us on the stage with the Supreme Commander I'd appreciate it." "Aye sir. No problem." "Very Good mister Dawson, Energize" A slight hum of power filled the air as the energy beam deconstructed the pair on the transporter room and sent their atoms streaming through space at the speed of light towards their destination. Daniel Greene --------------------------------------------------------------------- (USS Rosenante- Transporter Room 1 - ACSO, Louis Remey, Day 8 -1936) Captain Salid had been pacing for some time but Louis had spent his time calibrating and testing his scanning system. So far it had gone off without a hitch. Having some passing acquaintance with a heads-up display he found it workable if a bit distracting at first. That had been some time ago though and he found himself getting jittery. The Irlixian baseline was as perfect as he could get it, anything out of the norm he found would be quickly noted. The only drawback was the pointing mechanism, the sensor output was in the shape of a come, much like a sonar array so it would be line of sight, he would have to turn and look around at the individuals both on and around the platform to get a full scan. It made sense that any individual insinuated into the Irlixian party of starfleet origin would be nearby, it went without saying. The trappings of power present in the knowledge required to incorporate StarFleet technology onto Irlix could hardly be without reward. History was replete with stories of interference in the affairs of other worlds and the individuals rose quickly from the ranks, often undercut by associates perhaps but if that person was still in favor he would command a position of some importance. The intial excitement had died to a humdrum though after a while as the quick beam down he had expected had not arisen so it was with relief he heard the report finally surface that the address had started. This rejuvenated the captain who sprang onto the platform followed by Louis and the remainder of the away team. Louis took a deep breath as he awaited the word. Good Luck. Captain out." After sending out the call Ahmed turned to issue more orders. "Notify commander Sullivan to start her clock as soon as we've beamed down, Chief." "Aye captain. I'll do it." "Mister Remey, are you ready?" Louis smiled as he nodded in reply. "I was born ready captain." Ahmed smiled in return, "Then I'd say we have a party to crash." "In spades I would say." He didn't bother to suppress the grin. "I suppose the hosts will be quite surprised at our appearance." "Mister Dawson. If you'd be so kind as to put us on the stage with the Supreme Commander I'd appreciate it." "Aye sir. No problem." "Very Good mister Dawson, Energize" The hum of the transporter filled his ears as his vision was filled with sparkling motes. ~Ready or not here we come.~ (Reply: Any) (Posted by Charles) --------------------------------------------------------------------- (Irlix, Khoda City- Civic Center, CO, Captain Ahmed Ibn Salid, Day 8-1940) Ahmed and Remey were reconstructed within a few feet of the podium that was being used by Khoda Rhone as he addressed his people. "And so, we firmly believe that we are in the right to hold..." The Supreme commander was saying as the pair materialized. Ahmed quickly surveyed the scene. The two members of the Rosenante crew had arrived inside the security perimeter established by the Irlixian secret police, as a result, Ahmed and Remey had all the advantage that they could hope for both in proximity to the Supreme Commander of the Rhone Union and in their maximized exposure to the press and assembled population that had come to see the aged icon of his people speak. In fact, their appearance was so sudden, so abrupt that the elderly Irlixian was still speaking even as the press and those assembled were beginning to realize that the two Rosenante Crew members had arrived. A Murmur rose at first from the crowd, but it soon exploded into a nearly riotous sea of exclamation and amazement. That sound built like a massive tidal wave threatening to overrun the shore and caused the elderly speaker to suddenly stop and his security detail to take notice. The Irlixian security men were stunned and amazed that the two humans had managed to get so close to their exalted leader without their knowledge, and now, they simply stood in awe as their minds struggled to formulate a solution to the situation that they faced. Khoda Rhone was old. The security team couldn't risk using their phasers to stun either of the Rosenante crew men for fear of hitting their leader. Likewise, rushing in might cause the Humans to draw their own weapons and start shooting. Again the risk to their leader was too great. Rhone must have realized the conflict taking place within the minds of his guard, because he immediately raised a hand, giving them clear instruction not to intervene, as he turned to face the two humans that have arrived on the stage. (reply Remey) Daniel Greene --------------------------------------------------------------------- (Irlix, Khoda City- Civic Center, ACSO Louis Remey, Day 8-1941.5*) "And so, we firmly believe that we are in the right to hold... The supreme enchilada appeared to be in full blow as they materialized beside the platform. There wasn't time to lazily survey the crowd so Louis immediately started turning slowly to take in the whole scene. The place they had picked for the address was large but packed with natives. Everyone was raptly listening to his speech, that is of course until it registered on their consciousness that the gathering had been invaded by beings of an entirely different form altogether. Louis wasted little time on the crowd but did pause slightly when sweeping the security detail. Since he was facing them when he did so he could hardly miss their surprise at the appearance, even though his attention was focused more on the readouts on the set of spectacles he was wearing. Some just beyond the security detail were holding devices of some kind that looked much like mikes but with an internal power supply. ~Press corps then.~ He mused to himself. ~This will really give them something to report... if they don’t fall out from shock.~ It didn't take long for a rising murmur to begin which caused Khoda Rhone;s speech to falter a bit. The security detail seemed to have trouble deciding whether to draw their weapons or not and he didn't have the time to spare in staring them down so he continued his slow turn, already having turned nearly thirty degrees. The next moment was tense as he finally got around to the platform, the true goal of his exploration. The members of the government seated there were prime suspects. For the sake of thoroughness though it had been necessary to rule out the others nearby to it. Things seemed to freeze for an instant and he found out why when he got to the dais, the Supreme Commander had hand raised which had obviously stopped them from attacking. Irlixian life form readings had been the norm until now of course, his eyes didn't have to travel far beyond the Supreme Commander till aberrant readings began to flash on the inside of the lenses. Louis smiled then, a toothy grin as he and the captain faced Khoda Rhone. Since he had a lock he depressed a button on the tricorder strapped to his belt that would begin analyzing the reading, even though in Irlixian form it was possible that they could make a positive ID if given enough time. "Well Captain it looks like we've found our culprit." He said quietly though the whisper traveled farther than he had anticipated in the amphitheater. It was easy to forget how a cunningly constructed stage could magnify and carry a voice, it had been proven over and over through the centuries. (Reply: Salid, Rhone, any) (Posted by Charles) --------------------------------------------------------------------- (USS Rosenante- Transporter Room 2 -ACEO - Lieutenant Steven Matrix, Day 8- 1942) "Glad to see everyone. Double check your gear, we're beaming down in eight minutes. I want everyone to have two phasers fully charged and a tricorder." said Matrix. (Reply, Sanok, Nunez, Smith - IYW) Matrix handed each team member a PADD as he began the mission briefing."I've created a primary, secondary and tertiary mission plan for each of you on these PADDs. We need to find intelligence on where the hostages are being held as quickly as possible...within 10 minutes is the timeline. We'll split into two teams to do so. See mission parameters alpha on your PADD. This will be our primary route. Team One will be myself and Sanok, team two Nunez and Smith." "The transporter chief will scan the area first to ensure no one is around. We will beam down together at the north west corridor, hopefully unobserved. This late in the day we should benefit from the lack of sunshine, but note that this building has some large windows on the exterior hallways...the same hallway we're beaming into. So stay sharp." "There is a large statue at that location that should help mask our bean down. From there we'll split into teams. Team two will take the north-east hallway and proceed to the office marked A on your PADD. Scan the room and see if you can find any information, written, on computer, hologram, anything that might help us find the whereabouts of the hostages. If you do, record it and report back to me immediately. Sanok and I will proceed to office B and do the same. Avoid contact if at all possible. We need to get in and out a quietly as possible. If you have to engage anyone, use heavy stun and be discrete about it. Don't leave the bodies out in the open if you can help it." "If neither team is successful we'll move to location C...that should be the last likely place any information might be located about the hostages. Keep a keen eye out for information and any Irlixians. Once we've completed the mission we'll rally to the south-west corner marked omega on your PADD. Any questions?" (Reply, Sanok, Nunez, Smith) (Posted by Steve) --------------------------------------------------------------------- (USS Rosenante, Transporter Room 2, Ensign sg Sanok, Day 8,1943) Matrix said, "If neither team is successful, we'll move to location C. That should be the last likely place any information might be located about the hostages. Keep a keen eye out for information and any Irlixians. Once we've completed the mission, we'll rally to the southwest corner, marked omega on your PADD. Any questions?" Sanok had checked his gear, listened to the briefing, and read the information on his PADD. Everything was clear and concise, and he was ready to go. "I have no questions," said Sanok. (reply Matrix, Nunez, Smith) (posted by Bob) --------------------------------------------------------------------- (USS Rosenante- Transporter Room 2 -ASEC, Ensign Marta Nunez, Day 8 - 1943.5) Marta Listened intently to the description of the area as well as the detailed plan that was put forth. It seemed that matrix had really done his homework, right down to detailing the most likely locations for any pertinent data to be located. The plan was detailed, the roles clear and concise, and the Rules of Engagement also were clear. There was very little to question since everything was laid out so well, and with such clarity. When Matrix called for questions, Marta gave her head a quick shake and replied with a short, "None here sir." "I have no questions," Sanok added, and smith also remained silent. (reply Matrix, any on this team) Daniel Greene --------------------------------------------------------------------- (Irlix, Khoda City- Civic Center, CO Capt. Ahmed Ibn Salid & SC Khoda Rhone, Day 8-1944) "We can not and will not tolerate the unauthorized invasion of our territory by an unknown and potentially harmful alien species, whose only goal is to enslave our people and force us to do as they will. And so, we firmly believe that we are in the right to hold these federation scouts and spies in anticipation of learning the details of the plans of their invasion." There was a sudden murmur that spread across the stage as Khoda continued to speak and it was only when the murmur rose into a series of gasps that he turned to see the appearance of not one but two Starfleet officers standing on the stage just a few short feet away from him. The first was a Federation Captain, obviously of Mediterranean decent. He carried himself in a manner that displayed all the normal pompousness of a member of the federation Elite. The second man, less so, he appeared to be more of a follower than a leader, pointed more towards the crowd than he was towards any sort of encounter with the supreme commander of the most powerful nation on the planet. Khoda's eye flickered upwards towards the security detail who seemed confused as to what to do. But Rhone could understand their hesitation too well. They were concerned that he might be injured if they opened fire on the federation officers. To prevent any potential injury to himself, he raised a single hand as a silent command for his men to wait. Sevrith moved forward, his hand on the hit of his weapon, but he stopped behind and to the left of the Supreme Commander's position. Khoda Knew that at the slightest word from him and Sevrith would kill both the federation officers without a moment of hesitation. Movement behind the two interlopers caught his attention and Khoda spotted Senior detective Nigo stepping up onto the stage to position himself behind the two trespassers. "Well Captain it looks like we've found our culprit." The junior officer stated calmly. The captain nodded. "So we have." Now it was Khoda's turn to speak. "And what exactly does that mean?" He asked. Ahmed took a step forward. "It means that we now know exactly who is responsible for the kidnapping of our people," he said firmly and with confidence. "You mean captured your spies, don't you captain?" Khoda replied. The captain glared at him. Then replied, "I suspect that you know better than to think that they were spies, Commander Rhone." He said, purposefully emphasizing the word commander in order to point out by default the lesser rank held between the two. Khoda's face distended into a fit of rage. He reddened considerably around his ears. "What would you know about it?" He growled with menace. "You know well enough about the Prime Directive don't you? About how we are not allowed to interfere with other cultures, that are less advanced that our own?" Ahmed pressed. "Less advanced. Did you hear that, we're less advanced then they are." Khoda guffawed, "They have their precious federation Council and their, Prime Directive which prevents them from helping another species in need. The use it to justify their own lack of moral certitude." The Supreme Commander stated. "You're people came here, they started a war, and then they refused to help us. They left us here, they didn't even come looking for the ship." He continued. "Us? Or you?" Ahmed asked then. Khoda, stumbled over his words for a moment. His Jaw tightened and his eyes flashed in anger. "How dare you." he said shaking, his voice took on a dangerous aspect. "What actually happened on the Medea?" Ahmed pushed. Khoda ground his teeth. "How should I know it crashed." "You know what happened." Ahmed accused. "You've had years to study the wreckage. What happened?" The captain took a step forward, his voice raising in a slightly threatening tone. "I want you to tell me what happened. I want you to tell me now!" he continued. Khoda, took a step back and Sevrith reached down and drew his weapon. "I don't know." Khoda replied. "Don't give me that nonsense." The Captain pressed, "I said report!" "I don't answer to the likes of you any more!" Khoda screamed then, spraying a fine mist of spittle from his mouth as the rage built up to the near breaking point. "I'm not one of your Academy graduates any more! I command here! I am the savior for these people. They follow me! They'll do as I say and there's nothing that you or your damned Prime Directive can do about it." The Irlixian leader was shaking violently with rage. His entire body was jerking in nearly uncontrollable spasms of irritation as he spoke. The room had gone completely silent except for the words of the two men and the occasional sound of an electronic recording device. "I'll have you killed for this." He continued, still ranting. "Sevrith! Kill them and have their ship destroyed!" The commander of the elite force raised his weapon and took aim at Salid. Suddenly a beam of phased energy reached out from behind them and Sevrith was struck firmly in the center of his chest. Khoda's eyes tracked to the shooter as his trusted lieutenant collapsed and nearly collapsed when he saw that the shooter was none other than Senior detective Nigo. Ahmed turned back towards the detective. The detective turned his weapon around and held it out. "Mister Remey. If you would please." (reply Remey Lots more to come.)
