Cmdr. Aleksander Stolev - Day 3 - 1837) ==================================== "Lieutenant Commander, you are under the impression I was looking for your side of the story," said West. "I am not. I know you didn't order anyone specifically to do these things, your message however did give the appearance that you wanted these things done and these people moved. That is the problem right there. You didn't consider how others may interpret your message. You need to be crystal clear in your messages, which is why, as I have already stated, you need to pass them to me first. Then we eliminate this problem. If there is a problem with it, then I take the heat, not you. I can't have my tactical officer worrying about such things when the safety of the ship is at stake. That is my job to worry about. Now, carry out your orders and I will see you in thirty minutes. And I suggest you drop the subject," and with that Trevan turned on his heels and walked back into camp. Stolev was standing quietly, watching his FO stalk out of the grove, when his comm badge chirped. =^= Lieutenant Stolev, this is Doctor Mor'rel. Several of the Drago crew are awake. Commander Casely is requesting that his people be given some sort of shelter. It also seems he wishes to keep his senior staff together at the moment. Is there some way we can accomodate him? It might also be wise that they meet Commander West. =^= Stolev tapped his badge. "Absolutely, Doctor." He then looked up and began jogging out of the clearing behind West. "Commander West! Several of the crash victims have regained conciousness." As he saw West slow and turn to face him. Stolev tapped his badge again. "Doctor, what are their conditions? Are any of them fit for duty?" ==================================== (Planet Velorom IV, Runabout Drago, COUNS, Lt. {JG} Brian Rogers, 1838) ==================================== "Lieutenant Rogers... Brian... I'm here. We were attacked by... something or someone. There are Boudicca crewmembers down here. They're helping us. Just calm down, everything will be okay." He heard Paul's voice say. Brian nodded. "What... what is going on?" Brian asked. "I don't have a lot of information for you right now. I do know we've taken, at least two casualties. Yalrath and Rourke. Everyone else seems to be okay. Engtamn-Jensi is awake, but the others are still in various states of unconsciousness. Brian frowned at the loss of his two crewmates. Yalrath had been a great help when he was in command of the station, and Rourke seemed like he did his job well. "They're going to treat you now for any injuries and try to get you up and around. Let them. I need a working counselor, and we really will need one as soon as everyone else comes around. Don't push yourself, we need you ready. You're probably going to be getting a lot of business when you're back on your feet." Paul said. Brian nodded. After a short checkup with the medical staff, and a hyprospray to the neck full of something (hopefully not Cordazine) Brian felt better and stood up and looked around. He saw Ensign Chandler. He walked over to her. "How are you doing Sam?" Brian asked. (reply Chandler) Brian nodded and headed over to a Vulcan medical officer who seemed to be incharge."I'm a counselor and a medical major, what can I do to help?" Brian asked. ==================================== (Planet Velorum IV - Base Camp -Commander Trevan West - Day 3 - 1838) ==================================== Trevan let out a sigh of relief. He really did hate those kinds of confrontations, especially when they were with good officers. Just as he was completing his though he could hear foot steps running behind him.   "Commander West!  Several of the crash victims have regained consciousness." Trevan stopped cold, rolled his eyes and turned around to face the man. Stolev tapped his badge again. "Doctor, what are their conditions?  Are any of them fit for duty?"     Trevan interjected himself into the conversation.     "Doctor, this is Commander West, any personnel that you have deemed able to walk and talk, I need them at base camp as soon as you see fit to release them. I need them able to answer a few questions as well as resume duties. I will have security escort them to the camp, West out."     Trevan once again was face to face with Stolev, " Aleksander, have your men escort the personnel to the secure area we set up. Tell them not to discuss anything about our current situation with them, then I want you on my side when I interview them. Again, they are to be kept in the dark about our status. Also see if the counselor would be good enough to join us as well. Dismissed"   ==================================== (Planet Velorum IV, Runabout Drago, ACEO LTJG Matthew McLaren, 1839) ==================================== Darkness surrounded McLaren from every direction. Where was he, what was he doing. He could feel a stabbing pain from his left leg and he couldn't move it. He tried to swivvle his head around to get a look but he was overcome with norsia and pain and passed out again. ====================================  (Planet Velorum IV, Runabout Drago, ATAC/ASC Ensign SG Samantha Chandler - 1839)  ==================================== Sam fought to stay conscious as the doctor attempted to treat her. Her head hurt very badly. She attempted to move her left arm only to have the entire left side of her body explode in pain. She tried to look around at the area to see where her crewmates were. But when she moved her head, it caused more pain.   "Ensign Chandler, I'm here. I'm fine," Casely's voice broke through the pain.   She heard Casely's voice and she turned her head to see him. It took a moment for her vision to clear and she was able to focus her eyes. She felt someone inject a hypospray in her neck. The pain began to dull a little bit. It was enough to help her speak.   "Where is the rest of the crew? Is everyone okay?" she asked.   "Most of the crew are okay. We only suffered two losses," he started to answer, but his attention went to several feet away from them.   Sam turned her head to where Casely's attention was focused and saw Mackenzie. She smiled when she heard her arguing with a doctor. She really didn't pay much attention to the conversation of the others. Even though, the pain had diminished considerably, she was finding it harder and harder to remain awake.   "How are you doing Sam?" Rogers asked as he came over to where she was laying.   Sam looked up at him, "I got banged up pretty bad, but they gave me something for the pain," she said weakly.   Brian nodded and walked away to speak with one of the doctors.   Sam turned her attention back to Casely who was still close by, "Sir, what happened to us? How did we end up here? Who are all these people?" Sam asked   (Reply Casely)   She started to say something else but could not get the words out. Her mind refused to work. She felt herself lose the fight to remain conscious. Her world went black as darkness enveloped her. ==================================== (Planet Velorum IV- Outside the Village  -Dr. Madison Munroe- 1838)  ==================================== Maddie was not built to be a jungle trekker.  she enjoyed the comforts of modern science way too much.  As she huffed and puffed to keep up with the others, she couldn't help but feel the need for a good, long sonic shower.  her clothes were no stuck to her back with sweat, and her hair was matted.  A drop of sweat rolled into her eyes, stinging.    ~That does it, I  am going to have to work on getting in some sort of shape if I'm to keep going on these dang mission.~   Finally they came to a clearing and Maddie stumbeled out of the jungle scene.  Everyone had stopped.  She was bent over, panting, with her hands on her thighs, wishing she were wearing shorts and a tank top.  She had already stripped down to her bare essentials, with her jacket wrapped around her waist, and her shirt half undone.    Finally she caught her breath and looked up.  Fatigue made way for scientific curiosity.  Her jaw hung open as she saw in front of her an antigrav ... for lack of a batter word, cart.  the security team went forward to check it out, and Maddie pulled out her tricorder.  Unsurprisingly, it didn't register.  so she had to do her scans with her eyes.  As if in a trance she wandered forward.  She stopped beside the captain.   "Turn off your translators for a moment, " he said, "what do you make of this?"   Maddie couldn't help but smile,  "Golf anyone?"  Seeing that the humor was lost on her crowd, she went back to scientific analysis.  "Well, it's obvious that these people have technology, but look at them.  They appear incapable of producing such a device, but there it is nonetheless.  At first impressions I'd have to say that they have a supplier."   ==================================== (Planet Velorom IV-Runabout Drago-CMO Lt. Cmdr. Kaitlyn Mackenzie-18:40) ====================================     As Kaitlyn slowly made her way to the group of people consisting of Rogers, Casely and Chandler, she could see that they had seen the action of her trying to persuade Mor'rel into letting her triage people as well.       "Doctor Mackenzie, I must concur with Doctor Mor'rel. Lets get you checked out first and then we'll see about your ability to help with the wounded," stated Paul simply.       She knew he was right, and she hated it.  She always hated sitting around when she could be doing something better.  ~You have to make yourself better first!~ She told herself.  Casely's voice brought her attention back again.        "Is there a way we can at least get my senior staff sheltered and grouped somewhat together?"       "I'll see what I can do, Sir," stated Mor'rel.       ~Vulcans.....,~ she thought.  ~Always gotta use logic to diffuse or support anything.~  Vulcans were somewhat of a common species, but it was still hard for her to get used to being as calm as they were.  She remembered a few heated discussions her groups had in her Academy classes.  It seemed like she was the only one to flare up because of the lack of emotional response in Vulcans.  ~I suppose it's helpful at times too....~       "Lieutenant Stolev, this is Doctor Mor'rel. Several of the Drago crew are awake. Commander Casely is requesting that his people be given some sort of shelter. It also seems he wishes to keep his senior staff together at the moment. Is there some way we can accomodate him? It might also be wise that they meet Commander West."       Kaitlyn looked back from Mor'rel to Casely.  She hoped they could get to the bottom of what happened soon. ==================================== (Planet Velorum IV - Outside the Village - Capt Sevant - 1840) ==================================== Sevant licked his lips as he watched the crew begin to jump into the giant transport... or whatever it was. If time wasn't so valuable to them, he wouldn't have even considered hopping into this contraption. But the villager promised it would cut their travel time to almost nothing... that was the clincher. Still, there was nothing for it. They had to move, they were running on a tight timeline. He was about to climb into the craft himself when, suddenly, all hell broke loose. Explosions shook the area around them, blasting holes in the ground and knocking a few trees over. Beams of light slammed into the side of the craft, though they seemed to do no immediate damage. And all around them men in black robes covered in mechanical devices surged out of the forest. Sevant reacted by instinct and yanked out his phaser, catching one of the robed figures square in the chest with a high-power stun shot. The marines and security began firing as well, but not before a couple of them had been hit with those beams of light and knocked sprawling with large-scale holes in their bodies. He just caught a glance of the villager and his son shooting off arrows from deep within the craft, one of the enemy fell when two arrows suddenly sprouted from his chest. The fallen black-robe was immediately dragged off by another of his comrades, this one with fewer mechanical baubles then the rest. Off to one side, several of the figures shot a few grouped crewman who had been waiting to board, knocking them sprawling... this time without holes in them, and began dragging them off. "To those crew!" Sevant bellowed as he began firing. He missed with the first hit, but the second hit one of the figures in the shoulder and dropped him to the ground. Two others took his place, one dragging the security crewman and another the fallen brother. It was then that Sevant noticed Maddie, his CSO, was one of the fallen being dragged off. He growled and fired again, but missed when a horribly bright flash filled the entire area. He squeezed his eyes closed, but not soon enough to avoid the afterimage of whatever had flashed. Screams, sounds of struggle and combat, filled his ears for long moments after he had started blinking to restore his sight. When he looked again, the brothers and his unconscious crew were gone. Sevant stifled a curse and turned his attention back to the rest of the battle, there were several black-robes still around and fighting. NRPG: Yup, Maddie and several others have been abducted. RPG: The beams which had shot forth to either stun or kill seemed to be coming from a small box on the hands of these people, almost like they had stuck their hands in a breadbox and were waving them around. The ends of the boxes seemed to have a small optical device on it. Sevant keyed his phaser up a couple levels while he was looking and then took careful aim at one of the weapons on one of the furthest individuals still in the fight. The resulting explosion sent two other black-robbed figures flying. Another explosion quickly followed as someone else took aim at a box-like contraption and hit it. Sevant was about to call for prisoners when another bright flash filled the area. Sevant cursed and began blinking again. ~What the HELL!~ When he could see again, there were three more figures, these in white, among the black. One was obviously a woman with long flowing hair and a staff in her hand. She reached out and touched one of the black-robbed figures and the oddest thing happened. What looked like bands of energy ringed him, causing all the devices on his robes to catch on fire and begin to explode. Her two companions did much the same, and several more black-robbed figures fell to the ground in smoldering heaps. After that the enemy began to run, this time not taking the time to pick up their fallen comrades who lay burning on the ground. Seconds later it was over, the black robbed figures had slipped away into the thick cover of the trees and the entire area around them was a smoking ruin from phasers and whatever weapon the enemy had used against them. The Captain turned his attention back to the three who had joined; they had gathered together and stood serenely about ten feet away amidst a small pile of burning creatures. The woman was dressed all in white, as where here two companions and all of them wore what looked to be bits of machines all over their robes, necklaces and staffs. Much like the black robbed figures had been, though Sevant hadn't gotten nearly as good a look at them. The village almost fell on his face in an effort to jump from the machine and onto his knees, "Noble Archon, I was bringing wizards on hadaj to your attention!" The woman nodded slightly, but her attention was all on Sevant. The captain, for his part, simply kept his phaser at his side ready. After a few moments she said "We must go, the Scions do not like being defeated, and they will come back in strength." ~I don't like the sound of that.~ Sevant thought faintly. "I must get back to my people and organize a search party, we have a fortified camp there, will you join us?" The woman paused for a moment, and then nodded once. "We will take the thunder cart, if it pleases you." she said in a slightly haughty manner. "Come." She touched something on her staff and began to levitate. Both of Sevant's eyebrows quirked as her two assistants, both of foot, immediately began stepping over to the craft. The woman levitated herself into it, into the driver's seat, and looked over her shoulder. The villager had scrambled into the back, in the mean time. He cut his translator again, "Keep a watch on this woman Major, your BDU should be properly impressive to them. And get a couple of these... things... into this cart" (reply: Straton) Sevant climbed aboard and sat down, then tapped his badge. "Sevant to Commander West and Commander Stolev, get a party together, we have lost crewmen to find. And warn the line, we're coming in on an over-sized anti-grav cart, don't fire at us." (reply: Straton, West, Stolev, any) The craft suddenly begun rumbling from deep within and vibrating. The Captain balanced himself as it spun in place once the last person was aboard and shot down the path they had come at a high rate of speed. ==================================== (Planet Velorum IV, Outside the Village, MCO, Colonel Eva Straton, 1841) ==================================== Eva was standing next to Sevant, ready to board the strange 'cart' that the native had showed them when they where ambushed. Explosions and weapons fire erupted on all sides. Eva and the rest of the marines had their weapons up and firing at the black robed figures as soon as they appeared. Eva's phaser rifle sang in her hands as she pressed off repeated blasts at their attackers "Fan out! Lay down cover fire!" Eva ordered through her battle helmet. "Cerberus! Full tactical scan starting now!" [Tactical scan initiated.] Came the AI's response. ~This AI better be as advanced as they claim it is.~ Eva thought moving quickly away from the others, her phaser humming in her hands. Energy beams cut across her path forcing her to jump aside to avoid being hit. She twisted in mid-air returning fire and catching one of the black robed figures in the chest sending them sprawling. [Enemy targets are utilizing an unknown force field configuration. Attempting to isolate.] Cerberus said calmly in her helmet. "Great," Eva replied, "Do it quietly. I'm trying to concentrate here." Eva growled as a pair of the black robed figured suddenly appeared within arms reach of her. Eva changed the grip on her phaser rifle grabbing it with both hands and ramming it into the face of one of her attackers. She heard the satisfying sound of breaking bones as it's head snapped back and the figure fell to the ground. ~Force field my right eye.~ Eva thought sourly spinning away from the odd rod shaped device her other attacker was trying to touch her with. She released her phaser rifle with one hand as she spun completely around and clubbed her second attacker across the shoulder with the rifle forcing them to stumble sideways. Eva dropped her now broken rifle and pulled out her combat knife. She grinned a wicked smile behind her face plate. Her opponent stumbled to their feet turning toward her. [Hostile tactics indicate an attempt to subdue target.] "Their mistake," Eva snarled, charging the robed figure before it had fully recovered. Her knife flashed brightly as she side stepped the rod device once more and slid her razor sharp blade against her attackers neck. A fountain of pale pink blood sprouted from the wound spraying across Eva's arm and shoulder armor. She turned to see three more robed figures coming for her. She smiled. "To those crew!" Sevant yelled suddenly. Eva pressed as she was could not afford to take her eyes off her own attackers as they lifted their weapons to fire at her simultaneously. Eva tossed a plasma grenade between them and dived for cover as multiple energy beams criss-crossed the space she had just been standing in. A large explosion followed sending the 3 robed figures flying. Their bodies broken and charred. Suddenly there was a bright flash of light causing Eva's helmet to polarize automatically to prevent her from being blinded. ~What the hell was that!?~ [Unknown transporter energy matrix detected. Number of Hostiles has decreased. Several allies have also disappeared.] Eva growled pulling out her side arm and pumping it to maximum power. ~That does it!~ Eva charged out of the bush she had landed in, shooting anything in a black robe. She saw Sevant firing at the odd box shaped device some where carrying and followed suit. She grinned as the box exploded violently. "All marines target their weapons. They don't take kindly to weapons fire." Eva ordered the remaining marines. Seconds latter a second bright flash of light filled the area. Eva pulled out a second grenade and primed it in case more black robed figures appeared suddenly. Instead three white robed figures appeared and began attacking the black robed figures. Soon the black robes where in retreat. "Stand ready marines," Eva said into her helmet mic, "We don't know if these white robes are friend or foe yet." =\= Colonel, PFC Tieger is missing. I think she was captured with the others.=\= Sergeant Stone said. "Understood Sergeant," Eva replied, her eyes never leaving the white robes. "One thing at a time." Eva watched quietly as Sevant spoke with the white robed woman, keeping her phaser ready. "Keep a watch on this woman Colonel, your BDU should be properly impressive to them. And get a couple of these...things... into this cart," Sevant said, as the white robes piled into the 'cart'. ::Understood,:: Eva spoke in Sevant's mind. ::They may have their own version of a universal translator. I suggest you use this method to communicate with me, if you wish it to be privat.:: (Reply Sevant IYW) "Stone grabbed a couple of these black robed bodies to bring back for examinations," Eva then said into her mic. =\= Aye Sir,=\= Stone replied, then issuing orders to the other marines still in the area. Soon 4 black robed figures where piled into the back of the cart. (NRPG: I'm assuming that's what Sevant meant when he said 'things'.) RPG: Eva stood in silence behind Sevant and the white robes on the short trip back to base camp. She was on guard, she didn't trust these white robes. They had done nothing to earn her trust, and until they did she would watch them like a hawk. ==================================== (Planet Velorum IV - Runabout Drago - 3O/TAC/StratOps - Lieutenant Commander Paul Casely - 1843) ====================================   "Sir, what happened to us? How did we end up here? Who are all these people?" Sam asked   Paul looked at the Ensign and considered his response. "I'm not sure what happened to us. It seems we were shot down by someone on this planet. Why or how exactly it happened I'm not positive. These people are a number of the crew of the Boudicca. From what I can surmise, they came down for shoreleave and can't seem to get back up. Seems an odd coincidence..."   With that, Chandler looked as if she was going to pass out. There was something definitely wrong here. Paul looked over at Mor'rel who was standing over the now inert body of Lieutenant Rogers. Mor'rel didn't seem concerned, but that was hardly surprising.   "Doctor! Something seems to be wrong with Ensign Chandler!" Paul called out.   Doctor Mor'rel strode over to where Paul stood. He began to examine her, scanning her with a medical tricorder. Paul tried to read Mor'rel's face, but found it an expressionless mask. ~Damn Vulcans, they're the bane of diplomats everywhere.~   "I was wondering Doctor, what happened to Lieutenant Rogers," asked Paul.   Mor'rel didn't even look up as he continued his examination and treatment of Sam. "He was beginning to act increasingly irrationally, demanding to help his crewmates. His behaviour was suspect so I sedated him. He will be fine. There seems to be nothing medically wrong, but I would like him to receive a psychiatric evalution. It is possible that the strain of the crash has adversely affected him," replied Mor'rel.   Paul doubted that was the case, more likely Rogers needed his treatment, but he decided not to make an issue of it and sort it out later. Paul turned his attention back to Sam. "Is she going to be alright Doctor?" asked Paul.   Again, not looking up from the Ensign, Mor'rel responded, "She has a concussion. There appears to be nothing overly serious, however I will administer something for the pain. Her injuries are not life threatening and in a minute or two she should regain consciousness. Please keep her from walking around, she should rest."   "Thank you Doctor," said Paul, and then he turned as Mor'rel moved on to the next person. ==================================== (Planet Velorum IV - Runabout Drago - 3O/StratOps - Lieutenant Commander Paul Casely - 1845) ====================================   Paul heard the Doctor respond to the queries of the officers on the other end of the comm badge.   "At the moment, only Commander Casely is capable of resuming duties. The only other who seems mostly unharmed is a Grazerite research scientist. At the moment he has ran back into the wreckage and seems to be frantically looking for something.  The others should be soon, we still have not extracted everyone from the crash site yet, work continues," stated Mor'rel.   With that, Casely was ordered to meet with Commander West. Paul vaguely remembered West as the paranoiac who had attacked the Nimitz when they had first encountered them when Paul had just joined the ship. He raised his eyebrows. Perhaps West wasn't so bad, maybe it was just the stress of the moment that had caused the behaviour. It would be best to give West another chance.   Soon, Paul found himself being led by security to the First Officer. He raised his eyebrows at this. ~I'm sure after a crash, with no weaponry and being shaken up and concerned about my people, I'm a huge threat.~ This was, however, the Boudicca, a warship at the front. Maybe this was how things were done here. An ounce of prevention?   Paul soon found himself in front of the First Officer.   "Lieutenant Commander Paul Casely, reporting as ordered, Sir," stated Paul directly if not robotically, partially because of his prosthetic larynx and partially because it seemed like a phrase he'd been saying constantly.   ==================================== (Planet Velorum IV- Outside the Village  -Dr. Madison Munroe- 1845) ====================================   After careful inspection of the vehicle, everyone decided, not only would it be safe and faster, but also that when they got to see the "Archon" they would all be a little more fresh.  Of course, Maddie knew she wouldn't feel any fresher until she showered.  She looked over at Domini, who looked a little wilted herself.  She gave the counselor a little wink as they sat down in the back section.   Suddenly, there were explosions and chaos al around them.  Maddie stood up and looked over the edge of the vehicle.  An explosion rocked the vehicle and Maddie fell out.  Another explosion sent her sprawling across the ground.  Her world grew fuzzier.  The last thing she saw was something...not someone... floating over her, looking like a vision of death, it's hand reaching towards her.   (Planet Velorum IV- Some place dark-Dr. Madison Munroe- Some time later)   Maddie stirred and felt something in the small of her back.  Her eyes shot open,or at least she thought they did, because she saw nothing but darkness.  ~So this is what death is.  A dark place with a pain in your back.~   Reaching under her... at least there was an under her... and pulled a rock out from under her.  She tossed the rock aside to hear it hit the solid ground.  Rock on rock.  The next thing she noticed was the odor.  The scientist crinkled her nose, most unscientifically.  Well, at least it smells like death.  Then the smell became more noticable.  It was the smell of rotting vegetation, like hay.   It didn't take her long to believe that she wasn't dead.  The pain in her skull could only be the result of still being alive.  Even God didn't have that sense of humor.  She reached out with her hands and couldn't feel anything, looking for a wall.  Most lady like, she got to her hands and knees and began to crawl, feeling her way until her head bumped into a wall.   "Ow!!" she cried, rubbing her head.  Once the stars settled she noticed that there were some dim lights high in the cieling.  As her eyes adjusted she was able to make out the silhouette of a staircase.  Looking from one side to another, she didn't see anyting or anyone to prevent her from ascending the stairs.   Keeping a hand on the wall she managed to climb the stairs to a rather large and ominous looking door.  There was a small window in the door and she looked out it.  The contrasting bright light blinded her momentarily.  Then she looked out carefully.    Suddenly, one of the horrible, death creatures appeared in the window.  It's face, for lack of a better term, was inches from her own.  Instinctively Maddie let out a scream and jumped back.  She found herself on the edge of the stairs, quickly loosing her balance, and getting ready to fall back.  she screamed again, realizing that if she fell from that height, onto the hard stone floor, it would most likely kill her.   Then it was as if a thin line wrapped itself around her and pulled her back up to a balanced position.  The death thing's eyes glowed momentarily, then it disappeared with a howling laugh.  Maddie fell to the floor, and, most unscientifically, burst into tears.   ==================================== (Planet Velorum IV - Holding area Commander Trevan West - 1846)  ====================================   "Lieutenant Commander Paul Casely, reporting as ordered, Sir," stated Paul directly      "Commander, you seem well." Trevan said stoically, "If you don't mind, can you please come with me" he gestured to the officer who escorted him there. "I am sure you understand our need for security at this time and why I need to ask you a few questions before we let you back on duty."     The Lt. Commander looked hesitant, although Trevan couldn't say for sure since he wouldn't be ready to answer a bunch of questions after something like that crash. "Please come with me." The two walked about five hundred meters south where the new security outpost had been established, as they approached he could see the security teams ready to assist if necessary. To their left was a small improvised holding area. No forcefields here, just a few guards with lots of firepower. That usually did the trick.     "For the record you are Lt Commander Paul Casely yes?" he paused for a reply, "and your current assignment and ship is?" Trevan already new the answers but he wasn't taking any chances.   (reply Casely)   "Very well, if you don't mind waiting here for a moment." and with that Trevan walked away to get the rest of his interrogation team.   ==================================== (Planet Velorum IV - Holding Area - 3O/StratOps - Lieutenant Commander Paul Casely - 1848) ====================================   Paul stared at the Commander. He wasn't overly happy about being treated like a prisoner. The only thing he'd done wrong was be on a vessel that crashed. Even with the guards around, even with his suspicions, the man could still behave with some common courtesy, they were both Starfleet Officers after all. Suddenly, his mind shot back to the enemy starfleet First Officer that they had captured. It was almost like dealing with one of his own, the only difference was he ended up in a cell in the end. Paul resolved at that moment that no matter what occurred in the future, he wouldn't behave this way unless it was necessary. Paul paused for a second and then responded.   "I am Lieutenant Commander Paul Alexander Casely, assigned to the USS Boudicca as Third Officer and Strategical Operations officer, I am formerly First Officer of Starbase Geneva. Transfer took place on Stardate 2407.01.07 on the orders of Captain Richard Ian Lee as approved by Admiral Robert LoDona and verified by Admiral Gr'iann.  My crew was transferred on the same date," came Paul's mechanical reply. He was ready to give his service number and repeat the conventions of war, seeing as they were being treated as war prisoners, when West cut him off.   "Very well, if you don't mind waiting here for a moment." and with that West walked away.   Paul shook his head as he watched the Commander leave. ~Same West,~ he thought to himself, ~Idiot.~   ==================================== (Planet Velorum IV, Runabout Drago, ACEO LTJG Matthew McLaren, 1850) ==================================== Matthew came around again, the pain in his head had gone away but the pain in his leg was still throbbing. ~probably broken~ He felt around and realized that the bunk he had been sleeping on was on top of him. ~What happened~ He had been asleep when the call for impact had been issued and had been unaware of the entire crash. "Is anyone there! This is lieutenant Matthew McLaren! I need help!" He yelled, but his words were muffled by the heap of mattresses on top of him. ~God dam it, what have i gotten myself into.~ ==================================== (Planet Velorum IV - Outside the Village - Capt Sevant - 1852) ==================================== Sevant watched the lines reforge behind him as the craft crawled forward into the camp. The mood was so much different then it had been before, now everyone was armed and several strong-points had been formed. The craft came to a stop and the deep vibration/rumble disappeared. He turned his hand and noticed the archon jumping out of the craft with ease. Sevant wasn't far behind her, he hopped out quickly and looked around. He spotted the Commander and several other individuals and immediately began making way for them. Once there, he said "Commander, Report." While looking at the MXO and whomever he was guarding, an older man in mustard yellow. Also present was Casely. He heard Straton fall into place behind him as West opened his mouth to speak... ==================================== (Planet Velorum IV - Base Camp Medical Centre -  CMO - Doctor Mor'rel - 1853) ====================================   Mor'rel was in the middle of treating another one of the Runabout occupants when he heard a voice behind him.   "I'm a counselor and a medical major, what can I do to help?" Brian asked.   Mor'rel turned to see a young man dressed in the blues of the Medical/Science division. Eyeing the young man up and down quickly to look for obvious signs of trauma, Mor'rel replied, "Have you been cleared by someone in Medical?"   (Reply Rogers)   "I am talking about medical. Not a marine with a first aid kit," stated Mor'rel clinically, "Sit down please and tell me who you are, first name and last. Where are you coming from and what is the current stardate." ==================================== (Planet Velorum IV, Runabout Drago, Engineer, Petty Officer Jason Miller, 1853) ==================================== Jason slowly opened his eyes and looked around. Everything was fuzzy, blurry. ~If my eyes were sensors, I would say they are out of alignment...~ He thought, he looked towards his feet, and couldn't make out his legs. ~Wha-...~ Suddenly, he saw his legs were crushed under part of a collapsed bulkhead of the Drago. He let out a blood curling scream that could almost shatter glass, then, having never been injured seriously before in his life, he fainted. ==================================== (Planet Velorum IV - Base Camp - Commander Trevan West - 1853) ==================================== Trevan had already assembled his 'team' of interrogators to interview this new person who security had escorted over just a moment ago. In the distance he heard a low rumble that didn't seem natural so he turned his head to see a craft of some sort with the Captain and his team coming down the forest pathway. Trevan stepped forward and walked towards Sevant with  Straton in tow and being lead by a woman whom he had never seen before. His mind wondered what happened out there but that thought came to an abrupt halt when the Captain spoke.   "Commander, Report."     Trevan looked at everyone for a moment, "Sir, the camp is now secure and we have detained Lt. Commander Paul Casely and this man," he gestured with his hand, "whom I have no identification for yet. We were just about to interview them when you arrived. We are currently at yellow alert and all security teams have gone to a level two security alert. All other non essentials have been relocated to a more secure location. engineers are working on contacting the Boudicca with the sub-space transceivers but no such luck as of yet sir."     Trevan paused, "It looks like you had an interesting time sir. May I ask what happened?" The remainder of the team hopped off the craft and started to fall out and disperse around the Captain.   ==================================== (Planet Velorum IV, Base Camp, Colonel Eva Straton, 1853) ==================================== Eva followed Sevant and the White Robes over to where West, Stolev, and Drizzt along with several others where standing. She stayed close to Sevant, picking up another phaser rifle from a passing marine on the way. "Commander, Report," Sevant said. West looked at everyone for a moment, "Sir, the camp is now secure and we have detained Lt. Commander Paul Casely and this man," he gestured with his hand, "whom I have no identification for yet. We were just about to interview them when you arrived. We are currently at yellow alert and all security teams have gone to a level two security alert. All other non essentials have been relocated to a more secure location. engineers are working on contacting the Boudicca with the sub-space transceivers but no such luck as of yet sir." West paused, "It looks like you had an interesting time sir. May I ask what happened?" Eva's head turned to the man West had gestured to. ::The pilot of the runabout,:: Eva spoke into Sevant's mind, ::The one who sent the telepathic call.:: "Spider," Eva then spoke aloud into her helmet mic, "Standby to receive tactical scan of our recent fire fight. Get together with someone from sciences and go over it see if you can make anything of it." (Reply Drizzt) "Cerberus, download tactical scan to Major Drizzt's HUD," Eva then ordered her AI. [Download in progress...........................Download complete] Eva nodded, her eyes still on the older man in yellow, the one who had sent the powerful telepathic call.   ==================================== (Planet Velorum IV - Base Camp - Capt Sevant - 1853) ==================================== "Commander, Report," Sevant said. "Sir, the camp is now secure and we have detained Lt. May I ask what happened?" "We met some of the natives, several crewmembers were killed or abducted." He turned to look at the unknown individual, as Eva spoke into his mind and gave his identity as the powerful telepath. He frowned for a second, "You would be the pilot of the runabout." He said. The man nodded once, "Lieutenant Isengard, Captain. I have fleet dispatches for you..." the lieutenant gestured to the runabout with his chin, "in secure lockup, hands only." ~That would explain the trip to the planet, if he's telling the truth.~ "Very well. Mr. West, see to these dispatches with Mr. Isengard. If he's telling the truth and they're there, I think we can believe these people." (reply: West) He watched the two leave for the runabout, along with a security guard that the MXO had flagged down. As paranoid as the Captain was, he was hoping that everyone was telling the truth, he could use the extra bodies to walk the line. Sevant crossed his arms and looked at Casely, "I know your face from files Commander," he said after a few moments. "Records and logs back up your claims. So I am going to assume, for the moment, that you are indeed telling the truth and act accordingly, logic dictates that we could use all the help we can get." He paused a moment, "How many of the runabouts passengers are hale enough to return to emergency duty?"   ==================================== (Planet Velorum IV, Base Camp Medical Center, COUNS, Lt. {JG} Brian Rogers, 18.55) ==================================== "Have you been cleared by someone in Medical?" The Vulcan asked Brian Brian nodded. "Of course," "I am talking about medical. Not a marine with a first aid kit. Sit down please and tell me who you are, first name and last. Where are you coming from and what is the current stardate." Brian sat down and sighed heavily. ~I am Captain Kirk. I am coming from the USS Enterprise, and the stardate is 2267.03.06,~ Brian thought with a smile. Then he got serious. "I am Brian Rogers, I am coming from Starbase Geneva and the stardate is 2407.01.16... wait, 17. Sorry, forgot," Brian joked. (reply Mor'rel) "Can I please help my crewmates now?"   ==================================== (Planet Velorum IV, Runabout Drago, ATAC/ASC Ensign SG Samantha Chandler - 1855)  ==================================== Sam began to feel pain again as she slowly regained consciousness. She had been vaguely aware of the things going on around her. She felt something being injected in her neck. The pain began to diminish.   She slowly opened her eyes, which was somewhat hard as she came to finally. She blinked her eyes a couple of times to clear her vision. She started to lift her head to see what was going on around her but a wave of dizziness hit her from the movement and for the second time that day, her world went dark again.   ==================================== (Planet Velorum IV - Base Camp - Lt Major 'Spider' Drizzt - 1855) ==================================== =/=Standby to receive tactical scan of our recent fire fight. Get together with someone from sciences and go over it see if you can make anything of it.=\= Spider turned his head slightly, "I take it then that we lost Doctor Monroe?" he said into the same secure frequency. (reply: Straton) The MXO flagged down a security officer, "Crewman, escort Commander West and Lieutenant Isengard." "SIR!" He waited a moment later and gave a nod to the Captain, Commander and Colonel. "Sirs, if you will excuse me." The Captain gave a wave; he was already speaking to this new Lieutenant Commander. Spider spun on his heel and opened a channel, "Major Drizzt to any scientist in the area, sound off, I require assistance." He said as he began scrolling the data recording made of the recent battle.   ==================================== (Planet Velorum IV - Base Camp - Lt Walker Isengard - 1855) ==================================== "Very well. Mr. West, see to these dispatches with Mr. Isengard. If he's telling the truth and they're there, I think we can believe these people." Isengard quirked an eyebrow slightly. ~Trust us indeed. Bloody Vulcans.~ He gave a nod to Commander West, gave a pointed stare at the Marine next to Sevant for a moment, and then turned on his heel. He heard the MXO bark a command for an escort, such a big surprise, but he ignored it and continued walking. He felt better the further he stepped away from the Captain, that lap-dog of his was a powerful telepath, and she'd been discreetly probing the edge of his defenses. He couldn't blame her, but it was an annoyance. "Commander," Walker said once they were out of ear-shot, "I hope you have command level passwords at your age, you don't look old enough to shave... sir."   ==================================== (Planet Velorum IV - Runabout Drago - Research Scientist - Lieutenant Doctor Engtamn-Jensi - 1856) ====================================   A few minutes ago, Engtamn had rushed into the Runabout. A singular thought in his mind, he had to find the device. Engtamn knew Casely would understand, but he also knew he'd have to explain to the FO and CO of the Boudicca afterwards. He couldn't risk having anyone else get their hands on his dark matter/anti-matter generator. Small though it was, the results could be disasterous if it got into the wrong hands.   Engtamn sorted through the rubble for a few minutes, and then heard some cries. Finding the lockbox containing what he was looking for, Engtamn called aloud, "More survivors! More survivors! Lieutenant Klars, Lieutenant McLaren and PO Miller are still here. They're alive! Help them please!" Engtamn watched as the Runabout was filled with Starfleet personnel. The yellow uniformed people from the Boudicca pushed Engtamn out of the way as they picked up Klars, McLaren and Miller and moved them carefully out of the crash site. Klars didn't look too bad off, but the other two were slightly the worse for wear. Miller probably took the brunt of whatever happened.   With that, Engtamn tucked the small metal lockbox under one arm and swiftly exited the Runabout.    ==================================== (Planet Velorum IV - Holding Area - 3O/StratOps - Lieutenant Commander Paul Casely - 1856) ====================================   Paul watched as Sevant crossed his arms and looked at him. The man seemed somewhat... smaller... than he had thought he would be. Paul couldn't help but wonder if Sevant knew that he was one of the people on the Nimitz that had participated in his liberation months earlier, what that act had cost Paul personally. Still, three months later he awoke bathed in sweat in the middle of the night hearing the people aboard the Intrepid Class vessels screaming, despite they couldn't make a sound as they died in the vacuum of space.   "I know your face from files Commander," Sevant said after a few moments. "Records and logs back up your claims. So I am going to assume, for the moment, that you are indeed telling the truth and act accordingly, logic dictates that we could use all the help we can get. How many of the runabouts passengers are hale enough to return to emergency duty?"   Paul considered the request for a minute carefully. When he had left things were still shaping up. "Honestly Sir, the only person I saw up and about when I left the site, was Doctor Engtamn-Jensi. Obviously the status might have changed by now, but we'd have to ask your CMO," Paul replied. His mind moved to Engtamn. He hadn't really considered the grazerite for some time. In fact, the last Paul had seen of him he'd been moving back into the crash site and the Runabout itself. ~Now what could he be... oh... damn...~   "Ummm... Sir... speaking of Doctor Engtamn-Jensi... there is probably something you should know..."    ==================================== (Planet Velorum IV - Holding Area - Capt Sevant - 1856) ==================================== "Honestly Sir, the only person I saw up and about when I left the site, was Doctor Engtamn-Jensi. Obviously the status might have changed by now, but we'd have to ask your CMO," Sevant nodded and was about to tap his badge when Casely broke in sayin, "Ummm... Sir... speaking of Doctor Engtamn-Jensi... there is probably something you should know..." Sevant paused and quirked an eyebrow, "Yes?"   ==================================== (Planet Velorum IV - Base Camp Medical Centre -  CMO - Doctor Mor'rel - 1857) ====================================   "I am Brian Rogers, I am coming from Starbase Geneva and the stardate is 2407.01.16... wait, 17. Sorry, forgot," the young officer said.   Mor'rel quirked an eyebrow. Obviously there was something wrong with his memory. He pulled out a medical tricorder and the equivalent of a penlight and forced open one of Rogers' eyelids. With that, Mor'rel began to track pupil movement and dilation to ensure there was no brain damage.   "Can I please help my crewmates now?" asked Rogers.   "Your answer indicated some confusion as to the stardate. Logically I must rule out the possibility of any brain damage affecting your short term memory. You must sit still," replied Mor'rel directly, his face a mask, "It would be illogical to allow someone who might have short term memory problems to attempt to treat his crewmates, as you could do more harm than good."     ==================================== (Planet Velorum IV - Holding Area - CO and 3O/StratOps - Captain Sevant and Lieutenant Commander Paul Casely - 1858) ====================================   Paul looked intensely at the CO of the Boudicca. "Sir, in all honesty, it is something I really can only impart to you. Engtamn-Jensi is involved in certain... classified... experiments. I know there is no reason for you to trust me enough to talk to me without your armed guard, but this is important."   Sevant shook his head, "Save it for now then." he said. He crossed his arms behind him, there were other things that needed to be said, but there was plenty to do in the mean time. He turned to his Security Chief briefly, "Back to work Commander, I want a tactical team together in ten minutes." he paused briefly, "And kindly tell the Archon I'll see her in the next few minutes."    (reply: Stolev)    Once that was done, he turned back to Casely. "Alright, Commander. We're up against a lot of unknowns here, I need to know I can count on you and yours."   "Captain, you are who we've been assigned to. I won't lie to you, there are going to be hard feelings from some of my crew due to our reception, but I should be able to help with that.  Right now, no matter where this leads, we have a common goal and you are the captain," Paul replied honestly.   Sevant narrowed his eyes slightly, but let the comment go unanswered. Considering the situation, having them all clapped in irons would have been an acceptibel course of action until they could be very sure they where who they said they where. Only the presences of such alien technology, confirmed by the logs and his own experiences, assured him that this wasnt a plot by Doenitz to infiltrate the ship.    After a few moments he gave a half nod. "Very well. Lets go see your crew." He gestured and began walking. He put his free hand back on his phaser and was about to ask another question when the woman in a white robe, the Archon, stepped forward. "Brother." she said. ""Your reception leaves much to be desired."    The Captain came to a halt and took a breath, "My apologies, Archon, I am seeing about freeing my people." He looked the archon up and down again. "May I present Mr Casely."   Paul couldn't help but let a startled look cross his face. She had seemingly appeared out of nowhere.  Quickly, he dropped the countenance of surprise. Recognizing immediately that a title had been used, Paul cast a glance of question to Sevant and then he bowed slightly, "Greetings Archon. I am at your service."   The Archon gave a very small bow in return to Casely's, then turned back to the Captain. "You will not be able to retrieve your fellow wizards without talismans and support." she said simply.    Sevant folded his arms behind him and considered the situation for a few moments. "Commander," he finally said. "Keep the Archon company for a few minutes while I finish off some loose ends and gather the necessary people." He gave his own sketchy bow to the Archon, "I require just a few more minutes indulgence Archon, I need all my people together for this, and I still have to inquire over the health of many of my injured."    The woman put her hands together like she was praying and gave a much deeper bow then she had before. "Of course, people are paramount. Come, Mister, and I shall have you meet my fellow brothers in arms."    Sevant nodded and took a step off. "Sevant to Doctor Mor'rel, what is the status of your patients?"    =^=Currently Captain, Ensign Chandler is up and quite mobile. Lieutenant Klars should be ready for active duty as soon as he awakes, the same can be said for Doctor Mackenzie and Lieutenant McLaren. Lieutenant Rogers has been somewhat of a difficulty. He is convinced we are a group of Doenitz's people and that he has been captured. He has been sedated twice. Once by myself and once by Ensign Chandler who has been aiding me. I am extremely concerned about Petty Officer Miller. If I cannot operate on him properly within the next few hours, it is possible he will never walk again. I have been able to slow the damage to his spinal chord, but my 'band-aid' techniques will not last without proper surgery.=^= came Mor'rel's direct and terse reply.   =^=One other thing Captain. Lieutenant Engtamn-Jensi... apparently he is a research scientist... has a Starfleet issue container that he is unwilling to surrender to anyone. So far it has remained closed and there appears to be no weaponry in it, he is also a Grazerite, so we have left him alone. However, his behaviour is most strange.=^=   Sevant considered that for a few moments, ~That would be something classified, I imagine.~ "If security has no problem with that sealed container, leave him and it be. Clear all those fit for active duty as quickly as you can, Doctor. Sevant out."   ==================================== (Planet Velorum IV, Base Camp Medical Center, COUNS, Lt. {JG} Brian Rogers, 1859) ==================================== Brian had already eyed up the spare medkit he was going to grab, when Mor'rel's response shocked him. "Your answer indicated some confusion as to the stardate. Logically I must rule out the possibility of any brain damage affecting your short term memory. You must sit still. It would be illogical to allow someone who might have short term memory problems to attempt to treat his crewmates, as you could do more harm than good." Brian rolled his eyes. "Listen, we were cooped up on that runabout for how long, I must of lost track of the days. Now, I haven't seen Klars or McLaren come out of the crash site yet. Now, lemme outta here!" Brian said, his voice raising, almost shouting. He could almost feel the adrenaline pumping through his veins. Suddenly he wondered more and more if that Marine had given him Cordazine earlier. (reply Mor'rel) "Please, doc. I promise I'm fine!" Brian said in a commanding voice.   ==================================== (Planet Velorum IV - Base Camp Medical Centre -  CMO - Doctor Mor'rel - 1902) ====================================   Mor'rel witnessed an odd ocular movement, also a potential indication of brain damage. He began to become concerned as the young man begame increasingly erratic. "Listen, we were cooped up on that runabout for how long, I must of lost track of the days. Now, I haven't seen Klars or McLaren come out of the crash site yet. Now, lemme outta here!" Rogers said raising his voice. "You are behaving in a most irrational and illogical manner. Do you presume to try to circumvent the ranking Medical Officer? You are hereby relieved of duties until former notice until a complete medical examination is completed. This event will be entered into your service record and the Boudicca medical logs," stated Mor'rel without missing a beat. "Please, doc. I promise I'm fine!" Brian said in a commanding voice. Mor'rel glared at the human. "Raising your voice will have no effect on me. I am not cowed by such things, that would be an emotional response. In this case, despite your rank of Lieutenant, you do not outrank me as this is a medical matter." With that, Mor'rel clamped his hand on Rogers' shoulder in an iron grip, "I will now administer a sedative. Please expect to be visited by psychiatric staff if your medical scans come back negative." With that, Mor'rel injected Rogers with a hypospray.    ==================================== (Planet Velorum IV, Base Camp Medical Center, COUNS, Lt. {JG} Brian Rogers, 1905) ==================================== Brian's last remark was met with an glare of steel from the Vulcan. "Raising your voice will have no effect on me. I am not cowed by such things, that would be an emotional response. In this case, despite your rank of Lieutenant, you do not outrank me as this is a medical matter. I will now administer a sedative. Please expect to be visited by psychiatric staff if your medical scans come back negative." The doctor gripped Brian's shoulder and held hard. Brian tried to stand up, but couldn't. Soon, a hypospray was injected to his neck. "Aw, for the sake of..." Brian started to say before he passed out.   ==================================== (Planet Velorum IV - Base Camp Medical Centre -  CMO - Doctor Mor'rel - 1908) ====================================   Mor'rel watched as three more crew members were removed from the vessel. He had the crew members aiding him put them down in various areas away from the crash site. He moved from person to person.   Sealing Ensign Chandler's fractures and helping her with the concussion was easy compared to what he was seeing here. Klars had a slipped disc in his back. It had enflamed causing him great pain. An analgesic was easily applied, bringing the pain down. It was also simple for him to bring the swelling down. Klars would be ready for duty within the hour. His was also an easy case.   Mor'rel then turned him attention to McLaren, the falling items had fractured his tibia. It was easily sealed. The bone would be weak for some time, but the break was fixed and McLaren would be back on his feet in no time. Mor'rel thought for a second and decided to check his ocular implants, just to insure there was no damage. Everything seemed to be functioning properly.   Now, came the one that his medics had fought to stabilize. After keeping him in a stable condition, his survival was ensured. Petty Officer Miller had taken the greatest trauma of the group, save those crew who had died in the crash. Mor'rel began his thorough examination of Miller. Had Mor'rel been human, concern would have easily shown on his face. Areas of Miller's spinal column were crushed. While there was a chance Miller could walk again, with the facilities and capabilities of the planet, it was impossible for him to perform surgury at the time. Miller would survive, but the next few hours would be crucial to see if he would walk again. Mor'rel needed a surgical centre. He needed an area to operate. This primitive surround would not do. With that thought in mind, Mor'rel gave Miller pain killers and did what he could to ensure the young man was immobilized.    ==================================== (Planet Velorum IV, Base Camp Medical Center, Engineer, Petty Officer Jason Miller, 1911) ==================================== Jason's eyes once again slowly opened. He tried to move his head and look around, but everything below his neck felt, fuzzy, like it wasn't there. He started to panicked and looked around. He couldn't move his neck, but he could see somebody standing in the far end of his vision. "Hello? Who are you? Are we on board the Boudicca?" Jason asked with a quivering voice has he remembered the bulkhead laying on his legs. He tried to glance now to see his legs, but again, he was stopped by the immobilization of his own body. (reply Mor'rel) "What... whats wrong with me? Where is my crew mates? What is going on here?" Jason started asking, his voice getting weaker and weaker   ==================================== (Planet Velorum IV - Base Camp Medical Centre -  CMO - Doctor Mor'rel - 1914) ====================================   Mor'rel watched as the young Petty Officer came to. He knew the young man would be disoriented, but hoped he wouldn't have to sedate him further.   "Hello? Who are you? Are we on board the Boudicca?"  asked the young engineer.   "I am Doctor Mor'rel, current chief medical officer of the USS Boudicca. We are currently on the planet Velorum IV. Your Runabout downed by some form of offensive fire. Several Boudicca crew members, such as myself, were fortunately on the planet conducting surveys," replied Mor'rel directly.   "What... whats wrong with me? Where is my crew mates? What is going on here?" Jason started asking, his voice getting weaker and weaker Hearing the question, Mor'rel craned his head slightly and cocked an eyebrow. "In the crash, you suffered fractures of the first and second lumbar, as well as a slip of the seventh dorsal in your spinal column affecting your spinal chord. This event has caused you to be immobilized. We have dealt with your pain, but I need surgical instruments and better facilities to repair the damage. Your crewmates are in several places through the area. I believe your commanding officer, Lieutenant Commander Casely, has been taken to see Commander West, the Boudicca's First Officer. Do you have any further queries?" asked Mor'rel, "I would prefer that you rested. Please do not attempt to move as it may cause greater damage to the affected areas along your spinal column." Mor'rel then injected Miller with a hypospray in an attempt to keep his strength up and relax him.    ==================================== (Planet Velorum IV, Base Camp Medical Center, Engineer, Petty Officer Jason Miller, 1915) ==================================== "In the crash, you suffered fractures of the first and second lumbar, as well as a slip of the seventh dorsal in your spinal column affecting your spinal chord. Jason nodded has the doctor's hypospray helped him feel better. "Why haven't we beamed up to the Boudicca? Why isn't Commander West here? Shouldn't they call of the surveys?" Jason asked. He was feeling more relaxed, but was getting more and more worried. Something wasn't right here.   ==================================== (Planet Velorum IV - Base Camp Medical Centre -  CMO - Doctor Mor'rel - 1917) ====================================   Mor'rel listened as a flurry of questions fell from the Petty Officer's mouth. Most of them were beyond his capability to answer. He was as much in the dark as anyone else. It wasn't like command checked decisions with him.   "Petty Officer, while I do understand your questions and agree that they are logical, I am the wrong person to answer them. I am not privy to the decisions of command division. I would imagine that is what Commander Casely is looking into now on your behalf. Hopefully he will be given some of the answers so he can satisfy your curiousity," Mor'rel answered without missing a beat.   (Reply Miller)   "One way or another Petty Officer, you need to rest. I must look after other patients from the craft. If there is a further medical problem, do not hesitate to call me," stated Mor'rel as he got up to leave for the next patient.    ==================================== (Planet Velorum IV, Base Camp Medical Center, Engineer, Petty Officer Jason Miller, 1918) ==================================== Jason listened to the doctor's reaction and frowned. "Alright... thanks anyway Doctor," Jason said, frowning, has the doctor walked off. Jason looked around, and when he realized he had nothing better to do than get some rest, he closed his eyes and tried to fall back asleep.   ==================================== (Plannet Velorum IV, Crash site, ACEO LTJG Matthew McLaren, 1921) ==================================== Darkness. A pin prick of light at the edge of his vission. He tried to ignore it but it evolved into a glowing becon. He knew if he went to it the pain would return, but as much as he tried to stay where he was he felt himself compelled towards the becon. Suddenly he could feel fabric below him. ~A stretcher? What am i doing here?~ Surprisingly the pain did not return and he awoke to a clear view of the sky above him. He turned his head and got a glimps of starfleet medical personnel hurrying around. He sat up and after the dizzyness had past, he called to a doctor who was walking in his dirrection. "Hey, whats going on? where am i?"   ==================================== (Planet Velorum IV, Base Camp Medical Center, ATAC/ASC Ensign SG Samantha Chandler - 1925) ====================================   After the doctor treated her concussion and dealt with the fractures in her arm, Sam felt a lot better. The insistent pounding in her head was almost gone. She didn't have to fight to stay awake. And now, she was about to go insane with boredom   She sat up very carefully to keep herself from getting dizzy again. She moved her left arm experimentally. It was still a little bit sore but the explosive pain, that had occurred every time she moved it, was gone.   She looked around for the doctor who was in charge. She stood up and walked over to him. "Excuse me, but is there something I can do? I am going to go nuts if I remain here, just lying around doing nothing," she told him. "I would like to go on duty again."    ==================================== (Planet Velorum IV - Base Camp Medical Centre -  CMO - Doctor Mor'rel - 1928) ====================================   Mor'rel was more than a bit concerned about PO Miller. The fractures were among the worst he'd ever seen. In order to keep Miller from moving around more, he had sedated him. Mor'rel was unhappy with that solution, but it was better than Miller making a sudden movement and permanently paralysing himself. Surgury would be necessary at some point soon, the fusion seals wouldn't hold for long, Mor'rel knew that, but they might buy him some time. He was in the middle of contemplating his options when the Ensign he had treated for a concussion and minor fractures interrupted him.   "Excuse me, but is there something I can do? I am going to go nuts if I remain here, just lying around doing nothing," she told him. "I would like to go on duty again."   Mor'rel looked at Chandler for a second. "Ensign, while I understand your unease with the situation, I am not authorized to return you to active duty. Commander Casely is currently meeting with Commander West to sort out your situation. In the meantime, the Lieutenant over there," stated Mor'rel motioning towards Lieutenant Rogers, "is about to wake up. He has been behaving in an irrational manner. Please watch him and try to calm him down."   (reply Chandler)   "At this point, any interruption could cost this young man his ability to walk. The surgury is delicate. I need no distractions, do you understand?" asked Mor'rel   ==================================== (Planet Velorum IV, Base Camp Medical Center, COUNS, Lt. (JG) Brian Rogers, 1928) ==================================== Brian's eyes slowly opened, he was still angry about the Vulcan putting him to sleep... however he saw Chandler sitting next to him. Brian nodded at her. "Ensign Chandler... something is wrong here. The Vulcan doctor seemed pretty quick to try to put me out, Casely is gone, and we're not on the ship yet. I think these people might be from Doentiz's side of the conflict. I'm going to try to get outta here and find Casely," Brian said. (reply Chandler) NRPG: I have no idea of what Chandler might say here, so I'll try to keep Brian's response open-ended. RPG: Brian shook his head. "I'm sorry. When I find Paul... Commander Casely, we'll come back and liberate you and the other senior staff from Geneva," Brian said, looking around at Klars, McLaren and Miller, who were laid out on stretchers around the center. (reply Chandler) Brian stood up, and tried to sneak towards the door, but Mor'rel spotted him, and Brian started running towards the nearby forest, but, failed to spot a spare stretcher near the door, and tripped over it, landing on his face and on the ground. He then began to scramble to get to his feet.   ==================================== (Planet Velorum IV, Base Camp Medical Center, ATAC/ASC Ensign SG Samantha Chandler - 1929) ====================================   The doctor looked at Sam for a moment, "Ensign, while I understand your unease with the situation, I am not authorized to return you to active duty. Commander Casely is currently meeting with Commander West to sort out your situation. In the meantime, the Lieutenant over there," he stated motioning towards Rogers, "is about to wake up. He has been behaving in an irrational manner. Please watch him and try to calm him down."   ~Great, I get to baby-sit,~Sam thought sarcastically.   "At this point, any interruption could cost this young man his ability to walk. The surgery is delicate. I need no distractions, do you understand?" he asked.   "I understand," Sam replied before walking away from the doctor and towards Rogers' position.   She sat down next to the stretcher Rogers was lying on and waited for him to wake up.   ==================================== (Velorum IV-Crash site-CMO Lt. Cmdr. Kaitlyn Mackenzie-19:29) ====================================       Not really having anything to do, Kaitlyn watched the doctors go around and treat all the other crash survivors.  Sighing, she had attempted to do so herself ealier, but Mor'rel had forbade it and gave her a dose of Vulcan logic as well.       As she was about to head off into another direction, she caught a glimpse of ...~Brian....?~ in her eye.  Turning around, she spotted him running away from the medical area they had set up.  ~What in the hell.....~  Before long, she watched as Chandler sprinted after him and lept at him, while he was already down from tripping over a stretcher.  Once again, they sedated him.       As they brought Rogers back to the camp, Mackenzie went over to where they had laid him.        "Make sure he doesn't go anywhere when he wakes up please," one of the security members said.       Nodding her head, she looked back at Rogers who was sleeping like a baby because of his sedative.  Then she looked over at Chandler.        "What did he think he was doing?"   <>       "I guess that's Rogers for ya," she more or less told herself.       "Are you ok?"  Kaitlyn knew that after being in a crash and having to run after someone wasn't exactly the best thing to do.   <>       Sighing, Kaitlyn then awaited until Rogers decided to come back into the world.    ==================================== (Planet Velorum IV, Base Camp Medical Center, ATAC/ASC Ensign SG Samantha Chandler - 1930) ====================================   Sam looked down at Rogers as he started to wake up. She wondered what he would do once he was fully awake. He didn't looked too happy as it was. Sam frowned and raised an eyebrow, "Hold on a second, sir. Don't go rushing into anything," she told him to try to keep him calm.   Brian shook his head. "I'm sorry. When I find Paul... Commander Casely, we'll come back and liberate you and the other senior staff from Geneva,"he said.   Before Sam could do anything to stop him, Rogers stood up and moved towards the edge of the makeshift medical area. He broke into a run when some of the medics saw him.   By this time, Sam was already on her feet and ready to give chase. Rogers would probably hate her for it, but she couldn't let him get away. It seemed to her that he was out of control.   Thankfully, for Sam, Rogers didn't make it to the edge. He didn't see an empty stretcher in his way and tripped and fell. Before he could get to his feet, Sam tackled him. A medic was there to assist her.   "Sorry about this, sir,"Sam told him as she held him down while the medic administered a sedative.    ==================================== (Planet Velorum IV, Base Camp, Medical area, ACEO Lieutenant JG Matthew McLaren, 1931) ==================================== Matthew was still lying on the stretcher that he had woken up on looking up at the sky and doing some thinking when he heard shouting from the other side of the campsite. He turned his head to see Rogers jumping up and running out of the camp. ~Wheres he off too~ He didnt even get to the edge of the campsite when he tripped over a stretcher and fell flat on his face. Matthew let the smallest sign of amusement cross his features and chuckled softly to himself. ~Better you than me.~ He watched as Sam tackled him and a medic injected him with a sedative. They carried Rogers back to his stretcher and layed him down. Matthew rolled back over and continued staring up at the sky as the first signs of utter boredum set in. ~Oh the joy of being in starfleet. In it for 2 weeks and i've had an annurism, been transfered once already and blown out of the sky.~ None of the medical personnel had spoken to him. The man he had called out to before, had ignored him. Fair enough, they were busy, but they could let him know if he was going to live or not.   ==================================== (Planet Velorum IV, Base Camp Medical Center, COUNS, Lt. (JG) Brian Rogers, 1931) ==================================== Brian scrambled to get to his feet has quickly has he could, but Chandler came up from behind and tackled him. Brian was used to taking big hits from playing hockey for the Academy, but still shaking off the effects of the sedative from earlier, he went down. ~Or... at least thats what I'll tell people when we get out of here.~ "Sorry about this, sir," Chandler offered, has a near by medic rushed over to give Brian with something, which probably was another sedative. Brian signed heavily. "I swear, if my grandfather was here..." Brian said, before the sedative took effect, and Brian passed out.   ==================================== (Planet Velorum IV, Base Camp Medical Center, COUNS, Lt. {JG} Brian Rogers, 19.31) ====================================   Brian, for what seemed like the millionth time, opened his eyes, and realized he, once again, like before, was laying on a stretcher in the makeshift medical area. He looked over, and saw Kaitlyn looking at him. Brian smiled and sat up on the stretcher. “Hello, Dr. Mackenzie. Have you found out what’s wrong with me?” Brian said in a playful manner. (reply Mackenzie) “Listen, Kaitlyn, something is wrong here. I can’t put my finger on it, but I think we’ve been captured by Doentiz’ forces,” (reply Mackenzie) “But, Commander Casely is gone, and we’re being kept here against our will…” Brian explained. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ End of Compile ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
