Compile August 26-31 (Champlain) This compile is for the Champlain. Lots happening through these posts. Lots of minor timestamp corrections. Note: Whenever there were multiple locations in a single post, I spilt them up so that every thing falls chronologically. This does not alter the post count. --------------------------------------------------------------------- Mission: Beyond Vengeance Day 1 Stardate: 2407.03.14 Compile Summary (USS Wyvern, Captains Ready Room - Security Officer Ensign Dizhei Ryan - 0240) (USS Champlain – Sickbay – Chief Nurse Kitty Fisher - 0242) (USS Wyvern, Captains Ready Room - Sec Chief/Acting FO, Lt. Seeing Diz, he nodded to her and said, "Ensign if you'll come in." "Sir," replied Dizhei and as Janeway stood aside, she entered the room. She heard him address the stranger, then he also entered the Ready Room. "Take a seat, Ensign," the Security Chief said to Diz as he walked past the desk and sat down behind it. "Thank you, Sir," she said, doing so. "Ensign, Could you please walk me through what happened leading up to the death of a member of your squad?" Janeway asked. "Yes, Sir." Diz had had plenty of time to think through the events of that night, and gave the Lieutenant a full and accurate account of everything that had taken place. She put no particular emphasis on any one thing nor made any attempt to bias the account in her own favour, leaving Janeway to draw his own conclusions. "And sir, if I may, there was another, more minor incident later, also involving Ensign Hawk," she said. "I feel that you should also know about that, as it could have had similar consequences." She detailed the events in the corridor in the same unbiased way. "I requested Ensign Hawk to accompany me to the Bridge, Sir," she finished. "I anticipated that you might well wish to speak to him too." (Reply Janeway, any) (Posted by Liz) --------------------------------------------------------------------- (USS Champlain – Sickbay – Chief Nurse Kitty Fisher - 0242) Henna-Star finally finished what she was doing and looked up at Kitty, "I think I'll take you up on that coffee. Would you like to join me?" Kitty nodded her head and smiled. "Don't mind if I do to be honest. I could use a short break round about now." She waited while the doctor finished up and then together they made their way to the CMO's Office. Kitty picked up the coffee pot and turning to the doctor looked enquiringly at her. "What's your poison, tea or coffee? Help yourself to something to eat." Once they had what they needed Kitty sat down on one of the chairs and kicked her shoes off. "I've been thinking, and please don't take this the wrong way doctor, but it might be an idea, if it looks like our workload is beginning to slacken of, to send some of our staff to get a rest for an hour or so. That way they can come back relatively fresh and spell someone else to give them a break. What do you think." (Reply Henna-star) Once the doctor had replied they sipped and munched their way through a fair bit of what was spread out around the CMO's office until the doctor's comm badge chirped. (USS Champlain – Sickbay – Chief Nurse Kitty Fisher - 0307) =/\=Dr Henna-star, this is Nurse Telstra. Ensign Rhinehart has come round.=/\= Kitty smiled, "Well there's the first good news we've had today. Don't let me keep you, I'll organise the nurses and med techs and you can do the same with to MO's once you've seen to Ensign Rhinehart. Go on, you'll be fine." With that, Kitty chivvied the ACMO out the door. (Reply Henna-star) (Posted by Marilyn) --------------------------------------------------------------------- (USS Wyvern, Captains Ready Room - Sec Chief/Acting FO, Lt. Jono Janeway - 0245) Janeway listened intently to Ryans 'story', he trusted the security officer, he wouldnt have put Ryan in charge otherwise... He nodded at times he thought appropriate and kept taking notes on the account. When Ryan mentioned Hawk's name in the report he quickly came to an understanding on why he was stationed on the bridge at that particular moment. Ryan's report was good, very good. Structured, well thought through and un-biased - Dizhei Ryan was a good security officer, that Janeway knew. When she seemed to be winding down her report, Jono began to ready himself for speach until Ryan said; "And sir, if I may, there was another, more minor incident later, also involving Ensign Hawk," she said. "I feel that you should also know about that, as it could have had similar consequences." Jono nodded his head and said, "Go on." getting ready to continue making notes on the next incident. Once again Janeway listened and took his notes until the end of the report where Ryan said; "I requested Ensign Hawk to accompany me to the Bridge, Sir," she finished. "I anticipated that you might well wish to speak to him too." Janeway hesitated for a moment before responding. "You've done well, Ensign. If you would be as kind to call Ensign Hawk in here now." He said "I would like you to stay a moment longer." He added to Ryan. (Reply Ryan) Once Ryan lef the room and then re-entered with Hawk, Janeway stood up. "Ensign Hawk. You realised the importance of this mission when we beamed aboard, did you not?" Janeway said in a strict tone, walking up to the man. (Reply Hawk) "And you realised you were in no position to argue with the officer in-charge of your team?" Jono said instantly after Hawk replied. (Reply Hawk) "I would be delighted then, to know why you both argued with the officer in-charge and dis-obeyed orders on at least two occasions. Orders which if you had followed may have saved another officers life?" (Reply Hawk) "I'm afraid Ensign Hawk, that all actions have concequences. Because of this I am placing you under arrest for gross mis-conduct in a combat situation. You do not have to say anything but anything you do say may and could be used agaisnt you in any court martials. You will be returned to the USS Champlain's brig pending an investigation at the next conveniant time." (Reply Hawk IYW) "Ensign Ryan, Could you please escort Ensign Hawk to the transporters and arrange for security to meet him on the Champlain." (Reply Ryan, Hawk) (Posted by Jono) --------------------------------------------------------------------- (USS Wyvern, Captains Ready Room - Security Officer Ensign Dizhei Ryan - 0247) "You've done well, Ensign," Lieutenant Janeway said after a moment. "If you would be as kind to call Ensign Hawk in here now. I would like you to stay a moment longer." He added to Ryan. "Yes Sir," Dizhei said, then left the Ready Room to fetch Hawk. As they re-entered together, Janeway stood up and began speaking to him. Dizhei stood quietly throughout, staring at a spot on the wall slightly to the side of the two men. She was however listening intently, in case Janeway asked her something. Eventually the conversation concluded, with the Security Chief saying, "I'm afraid Ensign Hawk, that all actions have consequences. Because of this I am placing you under arrest for gross mis-conduct in a combat situation. You do not have to say anything but anything you do say may and could be used against you in any court martials. You will be returned to the USS Champlain's brig pending an investigation at the next convenient time." (Reply Hawk IYW) "Ensign Ryan, Could you please escort Ensign Hawk to the transporters and arrange for security to meet him on the Champlain." Snapping to attention, Dizhei said, "Yes, Sir!" to Janeway. To Hawk, she said. "Come along, Ensign." (Reply Hawk, any) (Posted by Liz) --------------------------------------------------------------------- (USS Champlain, Deck 5 - SO Ens.(Sg) Ro'Dal - 0252) Lieutenant Bohb had given Ro' instructions to carry out her duties in the Cargo bay, setting up backup force fields and making sure there were enough beds for the prisoners. Preparations hadn't taken long. There was nothing too fancy, after all they were POWs and lucky to get a bed to sleep on that was fairly comfortable. She had made sure there were a few tables and chairs in there as well, and some e-books and e-magazines available on several PADDS piled on the tables. If they wanted clean clothing they would just have to request it from the guards and it would be supplied. Satisfied that things were ready, Ro'Dal tapped her commbadge and informed the acting CO that the cargo bay was prepared and the captives could begin transporting directly to it's coordinates. (Reply ACO, any) (Posted by Sal) --------------------------------------------------------------------- (USS Wyvern, Transporter Room - Security Officer Ensign Dizhei Ryan - 0303) Having reached the transporter room and instructed Ryan to stand on the pad, Dizhei tapped her commbadge. "Ensign Ryan to USS Champlain. Please arrange for a security detail to meet Ensign Hawk in Transporter Room 1 and escort him to the Brig following orders from Lieutenant Janeway." (reply Champlain) After receiving confirmation a few minutes later that the security team on the Champlain was standing by, Dizhei entered the co-ordinates and sent Hawk over to the other ship. Moments later she received confirmation he was safely in custody. She tapped her commbadge. "Ryan to Lieutenant Janeway. Sir, Champlain Security report Ensign Hawk is in custody and en route to th Brig. I will be rejoining my team, unless there is anything else you need from me." (Reply Champlain, Janeway iyw, Hawk, any) (Posted by Liz) --------------------------------------------------------------------- (USS Champlain - Bridge- Acting 2O/Opns Officer. Lt JG Xior- 0330) Xior ducked as he stepped onto the bridge as the turbolift doors slid open. The damage control teams were still working diligently on the battle damage and Sullivan was sitting in the center command chair as was to be expected. Ensigns and bridge specialists were buzzing around her as if she was the queen bee of the hive. But of course she was at the moment. His excellent vantage point allowed him to survey the entirety of the bridge with ease. It was just one of the advantages that his nearly eight feet of Betelgeusean physiology would allow him. He moved through the crowd, his muscles honed long ago by his following the teachings of Altaa. He stopped beside the command chair. His light blue skin darkening slightly as he prepared to speak. "Lieutenant Sullivan, I am hear to relieve you from your duty watch. It is now time for gamma shift to assume command." he said in a uniform clear voice. (reply Sullivan) "Very good Lieutenant. I suggest that you rest. I shall remain diligent and shall protect the ship to the utmost of my ability. I shall also see to it's repairs." (reply Sullivan) Xior watched as T'Larrah rose from the chair and turned over the Conn to him. Xior stood in front of the command seat. The chair was much too low for him to sit on it comfortably. As a result he stood for the entirety of his duty shift. His slender frame blocked so little of the view for the other bridge officers. "Mister LaQua." he said, " You are to retire from your post until the normal commencement of your duties. You require rest." (Reply LaQua, Sullivan) (posted by Daniel Greene) --------------------------------------------------------------------- (USS Wyvern, Bridge – ATAC/ASEC Ensign Sam Moto - 0341) Sam had been gazing thoughtfully towards the ship in the view screen for a good five minutes now. Half in admiration of the magnificent vessel, and half in awe of the damage it had procured during its previous combat. He had almost forgotten his current situation, guards flanking his either side, a foreign bridge, an elusive Lieutenant with whom Sam had an upcoming meeting, and not to forget he was still a prisoner of the very organisation he belonged to! He drew his field of vision from the viewer he had been intent on for the last few minutes and took a steady gaze of the bridge. An ensign stood by the helm console to his left, tapping repetitively across the keys. Moving across Sam saw the door which contained the Lieutenant whom had requested him, it did not move, nor show any indication that would mean that Sam might finally be seen to. A few officers in red and yellow were stood idly near to the door, presumably the “que” Sam had joined. A few gave him sideways glances as his vision wandered over them, but he paid little notice. He now drew his attention to a young man currently appearing perplexed at the lack of knowledge the man had towards Nebula Class systems, he in fact seemed rather overwhelmed trying to gain access to the systems on it. Sam had begun to take a step forward to assist the ensign, Sam had dealt with several grades of system before after all, but a heavy hand fell on his shoulder and he was again reminded of his silent guardians, and his position in the current situation. He assumed that he was barely a step up from the crew of this ship as regards status, he may not have done anything wrong, but then again he could have, and the crew of the Champlain didn’t seem the kind of people to be taking things for granted at the moment. Sam did not want any aggravation, not that he ever went looking for it, so stepped back into place, turned to his right and smiled at the Security officer, and looked again at the door to the ready room. (Reply any on bridge, none) (Posted by Nick) --------------------------------------------------------------------- (USS Wyvern, Main Engineering, Lt Cmdr- CEO Carson Purdue-0500) Despite the very significant lack of engineering crew, Carson and his team had managed to get the primary ship's systems back on line. They had sealed off the lower decks where the majority of the impact damage had taken place to conserve power and prevent them from being forced to work on those systems. The warp and impulse engineers, cloaking device and navigational deflectors were once again operational. Carson and his small team had done a great deal of good in a very short amount of time. The ship was fit to get underway. He tapped his commbadge. "Purdue to Wyvern bridge, you have all primary systems restored with the exception of tactical shields, which are going to need a dry dock to repair." (reply Wyvern bridge) "Request permission for myself and my team to turn in for some much needed rest?" (reply Wyvern Bridge) (posted by Daniel Greene) --------------------------------------------------------------------- (USS Champlain, Dorsal Nacelle – SCPO - Alonzo DiCosta– 0805) Al whipped his brow with the back of his uniform sleeve again. He was exhausted. The Coils were being a bit of a hassle, but nonetheless the repair team had made good time. The Senior Chief replaced the last of the replaced Isolinear chips for the coil modulator and smiled. The rest of the engineering team were leaned against the bulkhead of the Dorsal nacelle, exhausted. They had managed to muscle the coil off it's foundation, so that the relay jackets could be repaired, then back into place. The job which normally used specialized space dock equipment, had been done entirely by hand. At his suggestion, Ensign Bird had returned to Main Engineering to conduct some follow-up diagnostics on the repaired system. A field coil realignment and a replaced coil modulation bus and the coils were ready to run the last diagnostic on. Alonzo looked over at his team. "Well boys, here comes the moment of truth." There were a couple of mutters as DiCosta tapped his commbadge. "DiCosta to Ensign Bird." he said. (reply Bird) "We have the coil realigned and the bus repaired. Ready for you to run that last alignment calibration diagnostic now." he reported. (reply Bird) "Understood, standing by." He pulled out his engineering tricorder and started scanning. He noticed the humming first, then the barely noticeable glow coming from the coils. In this mode the fields were too weak to harm anyone. At higher settings, however…. Al didn't want to think about it. "Everything looks good here, sir." he reported, " I have confirmation that the coils are properly powered and that they are emitting a stable field" (reply Bird) "Understood sir. I'll notify you once we're out of the pylons. Then you're free to power up the nacelles." ~5 hours 40 minutes. That has to be a new record for a field recalibration of the warp coils~ (reply Bird) (posted by Daniel Greene) --------------------------------------------------------------------- End Compile ---------------------------------------------------------------------
