She glided slowly to a stop and the grapplers slowly closed over the Rosenante's saucer section completing his earlier observation that the device looked like a giant spider waiting to spring a trap. He released a lungful of air that he didn't realize that he'd been holding. Jennifer turned to the Captain. "Sir I have a personal favor to ask. Knowing that we will probably be here for at least three months I am willing to be here for the first month to help organize the repairs, and the third month to check them out and run all the tests. May I please have the middle month as leave to take Donald home and arrange his funeral?" Ahmed turned to regard the woman that sat beside him. She had come a long way in the short time that she had been his First officer. Her sense of duty was admirable if not just a little over-zealous. "Denied Commander." He said with an official tone in his voice, "I need you where it will do the most good, and that is on leave beginning as soon as possible. You have something very important to do and you are to take as much time as you need to do it. I'll be here at Geneva for the better part of the time and so will Lieutenant Xim, between us, we can handle the lion's share of the work. When you're personal needs are met, I expect to see you back here, refreshed and ready to return to duty." "You'll need to make arrangements for the transfer of your husband to Scotland as well as the personal effects that were recovered from the Epiphany at his behest. To my knowledge Doctor Wyler has left his quarters as they were. So you'll want to pack those up as well." Ahmed concluded, allowing his voice to soften. (reply Caskie) --------------------------------------------------------------------- (USS Rosenante - Bridge- FO- Lt Cmdr Josh Caskie - Day 1 - 1608) Josh was taken aback as the Captain turned to her and denied her request. Snapping her mouth shut and simply raising one eyebrow, thankfully she managed to keep any comments to herself long enough for him to continue. "I need you where it will do the most good, and that is on leave beginning as soon as possible. You have something very important to do and you are to take as much time as you need to do it. I'll be here at Geneva for the better part of the time and so will Lieutenant Xim, between us, we can handle the lion's share of the work. "You'll need to make arrangements for the transfer of your husband to Scotland as well as the personal effects that were recovered from the Epiphany at his behest. To my knowledge Doctor Wyler has left his quarters as they were. So you'll want to pack those up as well." Josh nodded. "Thank you sir I appreciate it." She was just about to ask to be excused when Lt Raschen came across and she stopped to deal with him. --------------------------------------------------------------------- (USS Rosenante- Bridge- COPS- Lieutenant Thomas Jackson - Day 1-1609*) Tom was busy with the requisitions needed to restore the Rosenante to full operational capacity. He was coordinating repairs with Alimi Morrow and the other Engineers. He was thankful yet again to be surrounded by such excellent friends. His work was much easier as a result. ~If I had know at the Academy about all this paperwork~ Tom sputtered to himself. He was learning that being a chief of a department was a lot more than simply having authority and rank. Smiling Tom thanks the gods fro Robbie Smith and Phil Sheridan. Those two were a god send! Jackson still felt a bit bad for Robbie - he had run the OPS department before Tom arrived on board. He had tried to include Robbie as much as possible in decision making for OPS - his reports and actions were professional. Robbie would be a great Operations officer fro some lucky starship one day. "Robbie - can you and Chief Sheridan meet with me ad work out a leave schedule. I plan on being on SB Geneva I think for my leave. I would prefer you and the chief be in the first rotation of leave" Tom explained. Chief Sheridan was on the bridge watching the docking And walked over to the two officer's in time to hear Jackson's comment about shore leave. "Sir, I can be around as well - I have no plans to be honest" Sheridan replied. "I appreciate the offer chief but you and Ensign Smith have earned a rest. Schedule the rotation s I have asked understood?" Jackson asked in a tone that did not allow for further discussion. Sheridan nodded and with an impish grin adding in a low voice just the three of them could hear "Sir, were a knot head as an Ensign and still are at times!" Jackson chuckled and smiled "True my friends - Please go and have some fun - we'll get together and have some fun - I have something in mind I am sure the two of you will enjoy". (reply: Robbie iyw) --------------------------------------------------------------------- (USS Rosenante- Bridge - aCOPS- Ensign Smith- Day 1-1612)   ”Robert - can you and Chief Sheridan meet with me ad work out a leave schedule. I plan on being on SB Geneva I think  for my leave. I would prefer you and the chief be in the first rotation of leave=^=   Robert nodded to him self as the turbolift lift doors opened and he walked onto the bridge. He saw Jackson and Sheridan and walked over to them.   "Sir, I can be around as well - I have no plans to be honest"   "I appreciate the offer chief but you and Ensign Smith have earned a rest. Schedule the rotations I have asked understood?"   Robert was about to say that he could also stay but from Jackson’s look he decided not to.   "Sir, were a knot head as an Ensign and still are at times!"   Robert smiled.   "True my friends - Please go and have some fun - we'll get together and have some fun - I have something in mind I am sure the two of you will enjoy".   Andrew nodded.   “Yes Boss. I’m looking forward to it.”   (Reply Jackson, Sheridan)   (Reply Jackson, Sheridan) (Posted by Robbie) --------------------------------------------------------------------- (USS Rosenante- Bridge - COPS- lt tom Jackson Day 1 -1613) "Good - then go on and have fun - stay out of trouble you two" Tom added as Smith and Sheridan left to schedule leave for the OPS folks. Tom smiled as his two friends, Robbie Smith and Phil Sheridan left the bridge to Begin scheduling the OPS Department for his their well earned leave. Tom had not yet spoken with Phil Sheridan about his profound feeling of doubt. He had again toyed with talking to Jon Nayati about this before seeing the XO and CO. Usually Jackson could shake these feelings off. He suspected his time was nearing where a decision of his could cost lives. Life had been so much simpler as an Ensign. Tom spent the next block of time working with the enlisted in his department. Some had not much time manning the OPS Console on the Bridge. He slowly and patiently explained the console and watched them handle some simple items. ~Phil's done a good job with the junior enlisted! Tom thought to himself smiling. The young crew were very young and very green. Sort of like himself those years ago hen her joined the NIMITZ. "OK Yeoman Krantz, I an going to the OPS Office on Deck 2. I am leaving you here. I expect nothing major to pop-up but if it does and you don't think you can handle it - call me understood?" he asked. Krantz was a young woman of just 22. She had come out of the academy about the middle of her class. She was good but needed to develop some confidence in her abilities. Tom rose and waited fro the yeoman's reply. :Sir..Sir, I'll try" Kris Krantz replied. Tom smiled and tried to put her at ease. "Kris, relax, you know where I am at right?" he asked. "Yes Sir" she stammered. "O.K. relax and learn. Better here than on a live mission right?" "Yes Lt Jackson" came the nervous reply. Tom turned and walked out off the bridge into the turbo lift. "Deck Two" He ordered. The ride was quick and he soon was walking to the OPS Center. --------------------------------------------------------------------- (USS Rosenante – Transporter Room 1 – Brevet Ensign Melody Haverstaad - 1614*) Melody, with one arm crossed behind her back, stepped off the transporter pad and turned her full gaze down on the transporter operator. “Ensign Haverstaad, requesting permission to come aboard.” The Chief looked at a PADD, then nodded. “Permission granted, welcome aboard Ensign.” She nodded and stepped off the dais entirely, before making her way out the door. Even after all these months, someone calling her ‘Ensign Haverstaad’ gave her the chills. Ensigns were a dime a dozen, the Academy pumped them out by the batch. To be called a Senior Chief Petty Officer, on the other hand, that meant something. Still, there was nothing to be done for it, the Captain had given her Brevet Rank, and nobody had thought to take it back after the war ended. Although, perhaps that had been on purpose. Melody remembered rank issues when she’d been assigned to the Boudicca to train the tactical department on the TIHS. Perhaps this post-war breed of officer would respond better to a brevet Ensign, then to a Senior Chief. Time would tell. She walked through the corridor, “Computer, location of Captain Salid?” (reply: any) (Posted by Trout) --------------------------------------------------------------------- (USS Rosenante- Bridge- CSec- Lieutenant (jg) Chance Raschen- Day 1- 1615) Chance had been on the bridge instructing and observing one of the junior NCOs from his department at the security station. That is, until he heard the skipper say to the XO “Let's make arrangements for all personnel to take shore leave. Mister Raschen and Mister Sullivan are to be placed on extended leave. Mister Janeway and Martinovich have received their transfer orders and are authorized to depart the ship as soon as we are securely docked. All other personnel are to be placed on Rotating leave." Yes, Raschen was curious to know where Janeway and Martinovich were going; but let’s be honest here folks, Chance can be a selfish SOB when lives are not on the line. So using the auxiliary security console on the bridge he started his inquiries with an old buddy of his that worked in the Dockmasters office to find out anything he could about either the Bounty or the Pink Panther. The only reply Raschen received was a read-only message stating that Merchant Captain License holder 15289960 report to the Dockmaster within the month. The crappy part was that the message was dated 2408.03.25. Chance just dropped his head for a moment before transferring a copy of the Dockmaster’s message and a copy of his captain’s license to a PADD and carrying down toward the skipper and XO. Once he stood infront of them he simply smirked and said “Just to give y’all a heads-up sir, I might be in trouble” as he handed Caskie the PADD. (Reply Caskie, Salid) “Well sir, I have a hunch that either my mom or grandpa left something kinda big. You know, like a small, heavily modified ship.” He answered with a shrug and a sheepish look on his face. (Reply Caskie, Salid, any in earshot who wish to comment) (Posted by Charlie) --------------------------------------------------------------------- (USS Rosenante - Deck 2 - OPS Center- Day 1 - 1615.5* ) Tom sat behind his desk and reviewed the schedule Robbie and Phil had worked out. He thanked the stars fro Smith and Sheridan yet again. He approved the schedule for shore leave and posted it. Jackson brought up the same screens Yeoman Krantz was watching - just to keep an eye on her. So far so good. Tom typed up a commendation for Nate Fuller. He had heard of Nate's efforts to help his pal Phil over come the PTSD Phil was going through. He sent it to Dr Wyler for her concurrence and sat back for a moment. He was bone tired and worried. He rose and waked to the small replicator and ordered a strong, hot coffee. As the beverage materialized Tom thought about the future. He also knew Ahmed Salid had left to see the admiralty staff. A new mission could not be too far away. Josh Caskie also departed with her late husband's remains and was heading to Scotland to bury him. Seemed like his friends rarely got a break. Tom sighed and looked over his personnel file. It was bout where it should be but for some reason, he felt something was lacking. What he couldn't tell as yet. He needed to prepare for the next step in his career. T.J. had received his electronic correspondence course for 2nd Officer. He looked over the material and saw a lot more responsibility was involved. These courses and the resident phase and real life training he'd someday receive would, in theory, prepare him to assume that slot somewhere in the Fleet. AS Jackson sipped his coffee and read the texts, he wondered if they would? (reply: none) (posted by: Bill W) --------------------------------------------------------------------- (USS Rosenante - Bridge - FO - Lt Cmdr Josh Caskie - Day 1- 1617) Josh was simply waiting for the Captain to decide on whether it was possible for her to take time off or not to take Donald back to Scotland when Lt Raschen came over to her and handed her a padd. As he did he smirked at her and Josh's internal alarms went off, at least as and when he was concerned.. Taking his padd and reading it Josh simply laughed. "Mr Raschen whatever you do on your down time is your own, however if it impacts on this ship then I suggest you need to seriously decided on which way you wish to jump. I suggest you might have a choice to make here. You have the choice of being a privateer or a Starfleet Officer. Unfortunately they are probably mutually exclusive. However the choice is yours, use it wisely." "Take the time whilst you are on Vulcan to think about it and let me know. After that I will review your situation and we can discuss it again then. (Reply Chance) (Posted by Marilyn) --------------------------------------------------------------------- (USS Rosenante- Bridge- CSec- Lieutenant (jg) Chance Raschen- 1618) Taking his PADD and reading it Josh simply laughed. "Mr. Raschen whatever you do on your down time is your own, however if it impacts on this ship then I suggest you need to seriously decided on which way you wish to jump. He didn’t want to moonlight as a privateer. He was trying to get his life straightened out. Deep down Raschen knew that she was right though, but some habits die hard. “I just wanted to let you know so you don’t get blindsided in case they want to see my supervisor as well..” He said calmly even though he wanted to be a sarcastic snot and add something along the lines of ‘isn’t that one of those Starfleet things. ?’ (Reply Caskie, Salid iyw) He understood she had a lot on her mind, especially with the situation concerning her late husband. Chance first heard of Donald from the scuttlebutt circulating through the ship. Chance remembered taking T’Lela home to her father on Romulus and how hard that was for him to do alone. ~Nobody should go through that~ he thought. Raschen didn’t think that he was more than ‘that yahoo from work’ to Josh, but he was very sympathetic to her situation and was in a position to help. “When I’m on leave ma’am, I moonlight as a captain for test crews for Impetuous Industries R&D division. The ship that I suspect the Dock Master is going to be asking me about is a small Raven-class vessel. She is a test platform for some new fangled engine design. I’m expected to take the ship from Geneva Station to Vulcan as fast as possible.” (Reply Caskie) Chance kneeled down without smirking and in a tone so serious no one on the Rose had ever really heard it, he quietly said so only Caskie and the skipper could hear “Ma’am, I have already plotted out my course to Vulcan, by way of Earth. If you’ll let me, I can help get your husband home.” (Reply Caskie) (Posted by Charlie) --------------------------------------------------------------------- (Starbase Geneva – Dock 1, Repair Bay 2 – ACEO – Ensign (jg) Mitena Rixx – Day 1 – 1620) Mitena was pleased to be holding in her hand a PADD with her new orders on it. It was not that she hadn’t enjoyed the challenges of the Milenum, she had. In fact, she’d loved her job. But the chance to be an Assistant Chief Engineer aboard a larger vessel was exhilarating. The Station Ops had informed her several hours prior that the Rosenante would be coming in to Dock 1, Repair Bay 2. She had quickly returned to her temporary quarters and gathered her things so that they could be transferred to the ship once it had arrived. She’d watched out the observation windows as other ships were worked on and crews rotated. Even spent a good amount of time chatting with people as they came off of shift. It was a good way to pass the time as she watched for the vessel to arrive. An update to her PADD flagged the arrival of the vessel and verified the docking location. Mitena hurriedly changed position so that she was looking out window with a better vantage point. She frowned slightly as it came into view. ~What in the world did they do to that ship? ~ She shrugged slightly and leaned closer to the window as though it would afford her a better look at the structural damage on the ship. ~ At least I’ll be busy!~ From the looks of things she estimated two, possibly three months of time in the repair dock. Mitena waited while the ship was docked and was made ready to receive and disembark personnel. Following protocol she displayed her orders and was allowed to finally go aboard her new assignment. She ran her hand along the wall as she walked down the smooth corridors. It was so very different from the Nova class starship she’d been on for the last three years. --------------------------------------------------------------------- (USS Rosenante - sickbay- ACMO-Ensign (jg) Sam Lopez - Day 1 - 1621*) Sam was on duty when he heard of the docking at the starbase. Sam still could not believe it had been two months already or something like that since he first arrived on board.~time flies does it not~ now he was ready for some leave and could not wait. "This is going to be long and uneventful stay" Sam said out loud without knowing what he just said and then somebody answered him. (reply by any sickbay) (posted by shawn) --------------------------------------------------------------------- (USS Rosenante – Ready Room – CO, Captain Ahmed Ibn Salid - Day 1, 1622*) Ahmed had returned to the Rosenante from his meeting with a member of the admiralty less than thrilled about the conclusion of the encounter than he had been going into it. The admiral had hinted at, but not stated outright that he had considered the captain's orders concerning the salvaging of the Main deflector array from the Epiphany to be just short of reckless. Ahmed consoled himself in the knowledge that Admiral Masok did not have an engineering background, instead he had always been in the command branch. The Captain also realized that Masok wasn't particularly familiar with the technology or skill of either the Rosenante or her crew. Those things alone had granted the captain a modicum of smugness, during the lip service that followed. The admiral's complaints were only valid if Salid allowed them to be. He had however, been ordered to return to the Rosenante and to complete a detailed report on the repair specifications. The admiral wanted to see exactly how much damage Salid's 'improvisational command style' had caused to the ship. Of course, Ahmed realized that the admiral was most upset by the fact that no federation follow-up mission could be sent to the Harvester unless they were the Rosenante. The Epiphany was still sitting there, partially salvaged, but still containing a veritable treasure house of technologies that were proprietary to the UFP. The fact that only the Rosenante was equipped to form the phased tunnel that would allow entry and exit from the massive neutronium device was just another irritation as the Admiral saw things. So Salid had left Xim in command, knowing that Nayati would relieve him in a few hours. That gave the captain time to pour over the repair projections that both Alimi and Geneva yard command had provided for his approval. It was times like this that Ahmed could really focus his efforts onto the report. Being in port was an added bonus. The door to the ready room enunciator chirped and then the doors slid open a half second later. The open door policy that he had adopted allowing access to the ready room to anyone that wanted to see him as long as he didn't have anyone else in the room with him. Ahmed glanced up and put his PADD on the desk in front of him. There walking through the doorway, a woman wearing a brevet ensign's rank on the lapel of her gold uniform. The left side of her face was badly scarred, but Ahmed somehow thought it suited her demeanor. "Can I help you ensign?" he asked. (reply Haverstaadt) "I see do you have your orders, he asked her?" (reply Haverstaadt) He took the offered PADD from her and quickly reviewed the orders contained there. They were straight forward and Ahmed nodded as he scanned through her records, his photographic memory putting everything into a medium that he would never forget. He handed the PADD back to her. "Welcome aboard Mister Haverstaadt. It seems you have a very impressive record. It says there that you were promoted to brevet by the captain of the Boudicca. Would that have been Captain Sevant, Stakes or Rivers?" he asked, since the information on the PADD was only a brief summary. She was well decorated which spoke volumes of her performance. Somehow he had the impression that he should stay by the book with her until he got to know her better, so that's the course of action he took. (reply Haverstaadt) Ahmed regarded her closely. "Well, I can appreciate your skill and your past contributions to the fleet, however, I want it to be very clear that this is not the Boudicca. We are not a warship, but an explorer. Your expertise is welcomed, of course. The civil war is over, and the fleet's mission has changed. I'm certain that this fact is very clear to you?" he asked her. (reply Haverstaadt) "Very good. Tell me how you feel about being a brevet ensign." he requested. (reply Haverstaadt) Ahmed listened, parsing her reply over in his head. He'd file it away and think her reply over. When she had finished, he continued. "I also understand that among your duties will be the training of our personnel in the use of the Tactical Holographic Interface System. I'd like to see your reports on this progress regularly. I want all Bridge Certified personnel trained in it's use, from myself down to the bridge specialists and the yeomen with Bridge access. I also want all department heads and their assistants trained even if they wouldn't normally be in a position to utilize it. I'd like to assign you Ensign Nunez to assist you, she is the ship's current TRADOC Officer, although to my knowledge her general training duties differ from your own. Utilize her as a resource." "I'll be assigning you to the position of security officer, under Lieutenant Raschen. He will discuss his expectations for the department with you. You should also check in with the CMO Lieutenant Wyler to see to it your medical records are updated. Lieutenant Jackson will see to it you are assigned officer's quarters." "Any questions?" Ahmed asked her. (reply Haverstaadt, room for more) As the conversation came to an end, Salid smiled and said. "Welcome aboard the Rosenante Ensign. It's good to have you aboard. You're dismissed." (reply Haverstaadt) Daniel Greene --------------------------------------------------------------------- (USS Rosenante- Bridge- CO- Capt Ahmed Ibn Salid- Day 1- 1622.5*) The last thing that he had expected was for Chance to mention anything about a ship being dropped at Star base Geneva for him. At least it surprised him in only one aspect. Somehow after meeting the meeting on Barakos IV Ahmed had suspected that Chance would have received a replacement ship for the destroyed star Hawk much sooner than he did. The surprise was really that it had taken so long. Taking his PADD and reading it Josh simply laughed. "Mr. Raschen whatever you do on your down time is your own, however if it impacts on this ship then I suggest you need to seriously decided on which way you wish to jump. I suggest you might have a choice to make here. You have the choice of being a privateer or a Starfleet Officer. Unfortunately they are probably mutually exclusive. However the choice is yours, use it wisely." "Take the time whilst you are on Vulcan to think about it and let me know. After that I will review your situation and we can discuss it again then." Caskie concluded. Ahmed listened as Jennifer set the Lieutenant straight. She was entirely correct of course, no man could faithfully serve two masters, and Ahmed had seen enough of Raschen's darker impulses to know that once he indulged them, he'd most likely embrace them for a life of swashbuckling adventure. Still, Ahmed sympathized with the man to a degree. He was a certified captain without a ship and Ahmed knew how he would feel in that situation. “I just wanted to let you know so you don’t get blindsided in case they want to see my supervisor as well..” chance replied calmly. “When I’m on leave ma’am, I moonlight as a captain for test crews for Impetuous Industries R&D division. The ship that I suspect the Dock Master is going to be asking me about is a small Raven-class vessel. She is a test platform for some new fangled engine design. I’m expected to take the ship from Geneva Station to Vulcan as fast as possible.” Ahmed smiled at the explanation. He knew that Raschen had a variety of off-duty 'hobbies' including testing out brigs and other containment systems for prisoners. He also was a qualified test pilot, and an accomplished privateer and bounty hunter. ~So it's not a replacement...~ Ahmed thought. (reply Caskie) Ahmed leaned forward then still smiling a little at the thought of Raschen and Sullivan racing from Geneva to Vulcan , perhaps while being chased by a large number of Ferengi merchants all trying to buy the prototype vessel so they could resell it to some competitor somewhere. Still the captain said nothing, preferring to see how his First officer handled the situation. Then Chance leaned forward and said something that suddenly made every muscle in Ahmed's body tense in anticipation of an explosive response. “Ma’am, I have already plotted out my course to Vulcan, by way of Earth. If you’ll let me, I can help get your husband home.” The captain realized that Chance was just trying to make a genuine offer to help. He almost dreaded the response that Caskie might make concerning the intrusion into her personal life. (reply Caskie, Raschen, Any) Daniel Greene --------------------------------------------------------------------- (USS Rosenante - sickbay- CMO-Lt. Aleesa Wyler - Day 1 - 1625) Aleesa was just returning to sickbay after making a trip down to the Medical labs to let everyone know that they were free to go on leave. With the Star base being so close, she could reduce the on-duty crew to just the bare minimums. That meant that her personnel would finally get some much deserved and much needed time to recharge their batteries before the ship and her crew pushed back the envelope of the unknown once again. The doors slid open and Aleesa took a quick stock of the situation. With everything in tip-top shape and no injuries or casualties in the bay the staff had already been reduced to a smaller than normal grouping of doctors, nurses and medics. "This is going to be long and uneventful stay" she heard doctor Lopez comment as she stopped in the middle of the bay. With a smile she replied, "Well let's hope so, at least to some sort of degree." (reply Lopez iyw) "Okay everybody gather around." Alee said. "Looks like the FO and the CO have granted everybody rotating leave." "I just got off the line with Geneva Medical and they've agreed to take on all our calls, so that means minimal staffing while we're here. So as of now, you all have three weeks leave. Go do some shopping or enjoy a short day trip or something fun. But know that while you're all gone, I'll be going through the med kits and ship's stores and there will be hell to pay if anything is not as it should be." You're all dismissed." As the staff started scattering, most heading for the door, Aleesa called out, "Doctor Lopez, do you have a minute?" (reply Lopez, Any Medical staff) Daniel Greene --------------------------------------------------------------------- (USS Rosenante - Bridge- FO- Lt Cmdr Josh Caskie - Day 1 - 1625.5*) Josh had suggested to Raschen that he might want to rethink his priorities and had watched him closely to gauge his reaction. She was almost sure that it was on the tip of his tongue to say something smart but if he was thinking about it, he certainly managed to reigned it in. “I just wanted to let you know so you don’t get blindsided in case they want to see my supervisor as well..." Josh nodded. "Understood Mr Raschen. Thank you for the heads up." Just as Josh thought the conversation over he began talking again. “When I’m on leave ma’am, I moonlight as a captain for test crews for Impetuous Industries R&D division. The ship that I suspect the Dock Master is going to be asking me about is a small Raven-class vessel. She is a test platform for some new fangled engine design. I’m expected to take the ship from Geneva Station to Vulcan as fast as possible.” Josh regarded him cooly. She would barely only admit it to herself but she actually liked Raschen. She liked his somewhat 'devil may care, take it or leave it' attitude. As FO she knew exactly how annoying it probably was to most people in the Fleet, but he reminded her of a younger version of herself before she had become bogged down in the paperwork and minutiae of StarFleet Medical and then the Fleet itself. That being said, as a Lt and a department head, he had a choice to make and would probably have to make it very soon. She simply looked at him quizzically. "And?" She was taken aback when he simply knelt down beside her and began speaking in a quiet and serious tone, one so quiet that only she and the Captain could hear him and so serious that if she had not been sitting there she would not have believed who she was having the conversation with. “Ma’am, I have already plotted out my course to Vulcan, by way of Earth. If you’ll let me, I can help get your husband home.” Josh was taken aback for a minute. Not because he knew about Donald, dear lord if there was someone on the Rose that had not heard about him Josh was sure that they were hiding deep in the bowels of the ship never to surface for even a minute. Josh knew that various rumours had travelled round the ship at warp speed regarding her and her husband. Thankfully everyone had the courtesy to treat her refusal to discuss it with the respect she required until now. She felt rather than saw the Captain stiffen beside her. He knew how much she guarded her private life and understood that she could be less than diplomatic when someone questioned her regarding it. Looking directly at the Lt she stared at him for a moment, but could find no other motive than a willingness to help her. Finally she simply nodded her head. "That is an extremely kind gesture Lt and I appreciate it and thank you for it. The Captain has already granted me leave so if you would be so kind as to tell me when and where to report I would like to take you up on your offer. Thank you." (Reply Raschen) Turning back to the Captain she smiled. "If you have no further need of me perhaps I should go organise everything Sir."
