Is there any reason why you shouldn't share it with me?" Diara asked as she ate and drank. "No there isn't Ambassador," Master O'Banyan replied. "Here's the deal," O'Banyan said. "There were two kidnappings. One was yours, supposedly initiated by Ambassador Trang. The other kidnapping that I have been investigating was of a Meldovian named Prince Angkor Khamal. His race has been at war with the Arturians for over 400 years, and the Federation has been arbitrating to help put a stop to the fighting. The Prince was on his way to hammer out a peace treaty when his ship was attacked by Orion slavers. The slaver responsible for this was the Pirate Queen Morella. She wants to stop the peace treaty in order to keep selling arms to both sides. I believe she plans to keep him long enough for the war to start back up again." "She's not a very nice person, now is she?" Diara asked rhetorically. "My intelligence indicates that the Prince was betrayed by someone in his own ranks who was working for Morella," explained O'Banyan. "I am not sure of the identity of this person. My sources are still trying to find out Khamal's betrayer." "Okay, so far I follow you, but this sounds like an internal problem. Why would the UFP be involved here?" she asked, trying to get a complete picture formed in here head. "Since there was a Vulcan arbiter involved in the peace negotiations, when prince Khamal was kidnapped it became a Federation problem. This is why there is now an unidentified Starfleet vessel coming to see us soon. I don't think it was an accident that you were kidnapped. I think it was a deliberate attempt on Morella's part to misdirect Starfleet to me. I think that you were kidnapped to lead this ship here. Do you have any relatives in Starfleet?" Diara shook her head. "Not in Starfleet, no. My little sister though, she's in the diplomatic corps. She's a very skilled negotiator. I'm not sure she'd be involved in this, although you can never tell with Metia. She's as stubborn as they come." A thought suddenly popped into Diara's head. She decided to voice it, "you know what though, now that I think about it, I think she was an envoy to a Vulcan named T'val. I wonder if he was the arbiter you'd mentioned?" (reply O'Banyan) (posted by Daniel Greene) --------------------------------------------------------------------- (Torven III Xanadu Gothos, Throne Room Trader Doyle O'Banyan 1434) Downing his Andarian mead, Dogface Doyle couldn't believe the world weary words that came out of his mouth, anymore than Doyle O'Banyan, Master Trader and hardened slaver could believe Ambassador Rhone's follow up response. "These dramatic changes are enough to drain any man at times. There are days when I would like to change business professions." "I could understand that desire. Maybe you should put a little effort into making such a change, maybe buy a ship and become a legitimate trader, or a bounty hunter?" ~Was this compassion on Diara Rhone's part, or was she just suggesting something she thought would enhance her own precarious position?~ Master Dogface wondered. ~Was she speaking legitimately, or was she just buying some time until her knights in shining white Star Fleet armor came to rescue her from the mean, dirty old slaver?~ He had never had that fate in mind for her in the first place. ~Buy a ship? He had more than enough creds and latinum socked back to do that. Become a legitimate trader, a bounty hunter? Different story there, either way he went,~ O'Banyan admitted to himself grudgingly. Being a legitimate trader would be quite problematic, given his long history as an Orion slaver. It would require him securing some sort of drastic physical and legal identity make over regarding his past criminality and a new home world that wouldn't arrest him on sight. The same preconditions would apply, if he opted for being a bounty hunter, except now he would be older than when he began his current life as a slaver.~ ~But from what disaster was looming on the horizon, maybe a career change was just what I need most now. Twenty years as a crime lord and slaver was a damned long time as a greedy, flesh peddling monster. Maybe Ambassador Rhone's offered alliance might be my ticket out of Orion Crime Space. After all, both my wife and young daughter are now truly lost forever. What is left for me here but further and utter damnation?~ Then the hateful image of the now identified Pirate Queen Morella flared up angrily in Master Dogface's angry mind. ~But before I warp out stage right, I want to take Morella, the conniving green witch that set me up, down a few light years,~ O'Banyan vowed vehemently to himself. Addressing Ambassador Rhone, O'Banyan said, "You were brought here against your will. We've butted heads. You've shown a high degree of pluck and I haven't even offered you any hospitality. Would you care for something to eat or drink? The information I just downloaded from an extremely reliable informant has been most illuminating." "Well if the information was enlightening for you, it certainly hasn't done much for me. Is there any reason why you shouldn't share it with me?" Diara asked as she ate and drank. "No there isn't Ambassador," Master O'Banyan replied. It was then that Master Doyle began to tell Ambassador Rhone what Ms. Judith Wilson had sent him from deep in Orion Crime Space. (Reply Ambassador Rhone.) (Reply Diara Rhone) (Posted by Jim McCrary) --------------------------------------------------------------------- (USS Rosenante - Ready Room- CO- Capt. Ahmed Ibn Salid- 1935) "Okay Mister Ro'Dal, what can I do for you?" he asked, sipping his drink. With a great deal of care, Ro'Dal gently placed a box on the desk in front of the Captain. It was colored a deep blue that almost bordered on black, and it had three small green disks set near what might be the latching mechanism. The disks were biometric scanners. The box was roughly a third of a meter on each side, except for the height which was just slightly greater than that. It was an unusual device and it was definitely not something native to the ship. Ro'Dal then went on to explain Nodel's recognition of a mysterious voice that he had heard first on Barakos IV then later aboard this ship in Trade Winds. The two, Nodel and Ro'Dal, had come up with a plan that they had executed in order to discover the identity of the 'voice' and in the process had uncovered the box in the air ducts. But that was only the beginning. Apparently the Meldovians had also been spying. They had been spying on the captain as well as the Arturian delegation. Admiral Krokas and his aide Betten had managed to circumvent central computer access in order to gather intelligence. He needed to know how that was done, as he already knew the why of it. There had been several minutes of relayed information concerning Mister Raschen. The Meldovians had discovered that he had worked closely with the Orions in the past. This had made them paranoid, and perhaps rightly so. It also seemed that Metia Rhone was an issue. "I am aware that I probably should have taken our findings to Ensign Raschen, Sir, but after hearing what was said about him, I felt I should bring this to you." ~I have a security chief that no one trusts.~ he thought to himself. ~I'm not even certain that I trust him.~ Ahmed nodded. "I completely understand Lieutenant, you did what you thought best in the circumstances. While the breaking of the chain of command is not something I would normally condone, I have reason to think that you only did so with the best interests of the ship in mind." He paused for a moment. "However, concerning the surveillance that you chose to undertake. There are civil rights that we do our best to uphold in the UFP, even when we are in unfriendly territory. And those rules include certain clauses concerning diplomatic activities and communications. I can't take any of the information you have given me and detain anyone at this stage. Not without undermining the diplomatic standing of the UFP. So I'm ordering you to stop all unauthorized surveillance immediately." Ahmed pulled a blank PADD from his desk and typed on it. [We're going to need something more solid. I want you to bring in Jodol and detain him. Arrest Bettan and Krokas immediately, bring them to the brig under heavy escort. Arrest Rhone as well. Do this as soon as you leave here. Let them stew overnight without any explanation, then start questioning them tomorrow. Find out if Jodol is working alone or with someone.. Find out what Rhone knows about Raschen and Find out how the Meldovians are getting past our computer security. Consider that he/they may be monitoring our vocal channel or terminal where I am concerned until we get this neutralized. Have someone sweep the core and find and remove their surveillance protocols. Also have this box checked out, I want to know what's in it and if it poses a threat to the ship. I am about to reprimand you for our audience.] He slid the PADD across the table to her. Ahmed looked up at her and nodded, then said. "Considering your excellent record Lieutenant, I'm going to choose to ignore the fact that you have broken about a dozen regulations with your actions. But if I find out that you are continuing this surveillance, you'll find yourself in the brig, do I make myself clear?" (reply Ro'Dal) (posted by Daniel Greene) --------------------------------------------------------------------- (USS Rosenante - Ready Room- Sec.O Lt. Ro'Dal - 1936) Ro' felt it was necessary to let the Captain know that she knew the correct procedure for passing along the kind of information she had just given the Captain. "I am aware that I probably should have taken our findings to Ensign Raschen, Sir, but after hearing what was said about him, I felt I should bring this to you." Salid nodded and told her that he understood she'd done what she thought best in the circumstances, that he didn't condone the breaking of the chain of command, but he had reason to think that she had done so with the best interests of the ship in mind. It was Ro'Dal's turn to nod, that was precisely why she'd overlooked the protocol. He paused for a moment. So I'm ordering you to stop all unauthorized surveillance immediately." Ro' was taken aback by Salid's orders, she had come to him believing that he would promptly do something about these villains. "As you wish, Captain." Ro' replied, though she felt like telling him he was doing the wrong thing. Ahmed pulled a PADD from his desk, typed on it and then slid it across the table to Ro' who picked it up and read what he had typed. A smile crept across her lips as she took in the orders therein. [We're going to need something more solid. I want you to bring in Jodol and detain him. Arrest Bettan and Krokas immediately, bring them to the brig under heavy escort. Arrest Rhone as well. I am about to reprimand you for our audience.] The smile turned to a grin when she'd finished as she tucked the PADD in to her tunic and looked at the Captain, still grinning, her belief in him and his integrity once more restored. Ahmed looked up at her and nodded, then said. "Considering your excellent record Lieutenant, I'm going to choose to ignore the fact that you have broken about a dozen regulations with your actions. But if I find out that you are continuing this surveillance, you'll find yourself in the brig, do I make myself clear?" "Absolutely, Captain, am I dismissed?" The Takaran managed to get a hint of pained indignation in to her short sentence. (reply Salid) With Nodel in tow, Ro' promptly left the Ready Room and headed for the turbo-lift, she had a lot to do and for now her little companion would have to tag along, and besides, she felt he deserved to see what had come out of his surveillance work. Stepping in to the lift she ordered it to take her to Deck 3 where the Security Offices were, in order to get the manpower she needed for the arrests, not wanting to use the comm system to do so, for security's sake. (reply Salid, Nodel iyw) (posted by Sal) --------------------------------------------------------------------- (USS Rosenante - Ready Room- CO- Capt. Ahmed Ibn Salid- 1937) "Absolutely, Captain, am I dismissed?" Ro'Dal replied with some disdain. "You are dismissed lieutenant." Ahmed stated crisply and evenly. He then gave her a short nod and a smile. A few moments later she had departed and Ahmed leaned back in his chair. He was for once, completely uncertain how to proceed. He wasn't much of a spy. (reply none) (posted by Daniel Greene) --------------------------------------------------------------------- (USS Rosenante - Deck 3 - Security Dept. - Sec.O Lt. Ro'Dal - 1944) There were four people to arrest immediately, Jodol, Bettan, Krokas and Rhone, so when Ro' entered the Security Department she soon drew aside eight security personnel, and quietly gave them their orders to find the four and escort them to the Brig. Although some gave her curious looks she told them nothing further except whom each pair were to escort and that if questioned were only to say they were 'carrying out their orders'. Being the consummate professionals the officers wasted no time in leaving to do just that. The box Nodel had found was still in her possession, it also had received some curious looks and although she'd had an idea as to what it was, she wasn't absolutely positive. Now she considered who she would task with finding out its purpose, and then there was the matter of determining how the Meldovians were getting past the ship's computer security and sweeping the core to find their surveillance protocols. Ro'Dal thought she should go to the Brig once her other immediate tasks were completed, to ensure the Meldovians were all kept in separate cells, and felt that Nodel shouldn't accompany her there as she didn't want them to know he was aboard or had anything to do with their incarceration. "Nodel, I think it best that you return to our quarters and wait for me there. I don't know how long exactly it will take me to complete my tasks, but I anticipate being there within the hour." (reply Nodel iyw but not essential) Her furry friend gave his little bow and headed out the security department and Ro' considered who to give the box to. As it was a device of some kind, she decided to take it to Engineering and find someone to investigate it, after which she would task some people in the Operations department with sweeping the core and finding out how the computer's security had been compromised. A minute after Nodel left, Ro' left to carry out the rest of her orders. (Heads up and reprise: Meldovians, anyone in Ops and Engineering) (posted by Sal) +++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++ (USS Rosenante- Phaser Control – ACops – Ensign Robert Smith- 0932)   =^=That's a tall request. Even with the phaser array and backup systems we had on the Geneva I'm not sure we could do it=^=   ”Sir we could power down one phaser array at a time as we modify them. It would take longer but we would of course lose the phaser fire field when is down.”   =^=I don't think we have any choice by to power down those systems. The energy transfers required...unless......I have an idea. Give me about 30 minutes to run some tests. Matrix out.=^=   Robert looked at T’korn.   "Understood Captain. Yes, I agree that we could take one set of phasers offline at one time so as to not leave the ship unprotected. To get the job done more efficiently we can pull in more crew from engineering to help coordinate our efforts."   "Seems reasonable. You'll be responsible to keep tactical advised at all times on which phaser arrays are down at any given time. Coordinate your efforts through T'Kron. In the meantime, I'll be on the bridge," said Captain Salid.   As Salid left he turned to T’Kron.   "We have the aft phaser array, the starboard array, the port phaser array, and the forward phaser array. Those are easier for us to access. The ventral phaser array which is located underneath the ship, and the dorsal phaser array which is located on the spine of the ship, are a harder to access easily but not impossible. To work out the process of what we will need to do, I would suggest we begin with the forward phaser array."   Robert nodded and went over to the console and brought up the forward phaser array systems.  He began to run a diagnostic program of the phaser systems and then began to reconfigure the forward phaser.   "Computer, locate Lt. Martinovich," said T'Kron.    [Lt. Anastasia Martinovich is in Lower Engineering in the Weapons Control Systems Center on Deck 7.]   T'Kron slapped his commbadge and said, "Ensign T'Kron to Lt. T'Kron out."   T'Kron turned to both SCPO Phil Sheridan and Ensign Robert Smith. "Gentlemen, let's meet up with our weapons specialist."   Robert looked up from the console and nodded.   “Good idea.”   ~he might have thought of something that we have missed or not~    He transferred the conversions he had done onto a PADD and then went over to T’Kron.   (Reply Anastasia Martinovich, Any) (Posted by Robbie) --------------------------------------------------------------------- (USS Rosenante Phaser Control - ACEO Ensign T'Kron - 1002) T'Kron's commbadge chirped while he was still in Phaser Control with Phil Sheridan and Lt. He had not remembered seeing one on the crew manifest. But he was not surprised. Normally, he and Ensign Smith, the Acting OPS Officer in Charge, would be concerned with OPS staffing mainly. Lieutenant (jg) Martinovich was the weapons analyst/specialist. Sheridan did not remember the name and shrugged his shoulders and waited fro the order to go and link up with this officer. "Yes Sir." Stacey gave a half wave and made her way to the base of the warp core. She looked up at it for a few moments as she walked around it, listening to the heavy thrum of its pumps and its controlled reactions, before stepping up to a ladder and making her way to the next deck up: Main Engineering. Take it with as much good grace as you can muster.~ So Josh grinned up at him, "Please." Setting one of her feet into a crack in the trunk and placing her left hand into another she reached up with her right hand and grabbled the hand he was holding out. Balancing her weight she crouched down on the one foot lodged in the tree and springing up used his hand as a fulcrum to almost propel herself upwards. She probably wouldn't have made it since not only did she have the wrong footwear on for climbing but both her hand and toeholds weren't really secure, but Mike's grip allowed her to regain her balance and finally she found herself standing on the top of the fallen trunk, grinning, sweating, and attempting to blow a lot of errant curls out of her face. Grinning at Mike she thanked him and looking at the drop on the other side raised one eyebrow as if to say 'Well' (Reply Mike iyw) Her smile widened as she didn't bother to wait. Matrix stopped as the rest of the away team in front of them came to a halt and took up positions in the relatively thick underbrush. The CEO glanced back at his Bolian counterpart and put a finger to his lips to indicate silence. The entire 2 kilometers, the man had not responded once to Mosh's idea. The human then moved forward fairly quietly to Lieutenant Sullivan's position. Mosh followed. Sullivan and Cooper were standing on the edge of a manicured area. Sullivan had just dropped her weapon from her shoulder and had spoken to Copper who had apparently replied in the positive. "I want to take out the perimeter guards as close to simultaneously as possible with out having to break radio silence. Matrix, you and Mosh mover westerly around the perimeter. If you encounter visible sensor hubs on the way to the shack with the field generators, put them in a feedback loop so that they give no information to the control center. Matrix nodded then looked at Mosh. "You heard her, let's get going." Mosh smiled and nodded, then followed the lieutenant back into the jungle and around to the west. They made good time, once they were well outside the reach of the undergrowth. Matrix had the constitution of a terran land animal called an ox, and Mosh managed to keep pace with him, although not without some effort. The occasional short breaks which the CEO used to identify any potential scanner hubs were short and brief. They had seen no hubs along their path of travel and so there had been no need to deviate or to lose momentum in their attempt to reach the shack in a quick manner. (Reply Caskie, Weaver) Tyrone noticed all the security officers nodding their understanding. Mike had trained them for this sort of operation. The man was a training machine and he pushed his people to limits that they didn't even know that they had. Cooper had no doubt that the security officers could handle that side of things. He was more worried about the non security personnel. Sullivan wasn't an issue, she was cross trained and as the ship's Chief Tactical officer, she had a clue on how to act. But the Scientist, the Klingon, the Chief Engineering Officer and the CMO all were unknown variables. He just hoped that they were capable of being something other than cannon fodder or simpering cowards when the fire fight started. While Sullivan had answered any questions that the other team mates may have asked, Cooper was monitoring the commchannels closely, listening for anything from the Orions in the villa. Of course, his set might not be enough to pierce through that shielding, but he was fully confident that with both his and Matrix's they be able to boost the signal enough. He studied briefly the overhead images of the shack, trying to make out where they were compared to it, and trying to imagine the best route possible to reach the comms room. According to the tricorder and the sensor sweep from the Rosenante, the shack that they were looking for should be within sight of his current location. He pulled out his Starfleet tactical binoculars and took a look around. The shack wasn't very big and it was just inside the perimeter beyond the atmospheric shield. The building protected the console and other systems that maintained the fields that would make beam out impossible. His task was to shut down those shields without breaking radio silence or being detected. ~Easier said than done.~ he thought. He turned back to Mosh , who was waiting on the cover-side of the fallen log. "Looks clear!" he called back and hopped down from the log towards the shack. He could hear Mosh climbing up the log on the far side of him. For a few moments, everything was fine. Steve found himself standing in a small patch of light green leaves that seemed to be perpetually in motion. They were pretty to look at but only for a moment. Suddenly he started feeling stings in his calves and shins. The once green leaves started turning red as they began draining blood from his legs. He tried to get away from them, tried to climb back up the tree, but the leaves, fluttered slightly propelling the small leaf-shaped insects airborne. They landed on his arms and face and Steve screamed in pain. He turned now, as the strange numbness began to spread over his body. His legs felt heavy and he suddenly realized he was having a hard time breathing. "Give me your hand Lieutenant." he heard from above him, and with Herculean effort glanced up to see Mosh reaching down with a free hand. Steve had sunk to his knees, as the muscles in his legs simply refused to hold him up. The leaf-like insects were all over him now, stinging and biting him through his uniform tunic and pants. It seemed that the phototropic aspects of the suit was protecting Mosh, but not him. Of course Mosh hadn't stepped into a nest of them. His breathing labored, he started to get exceptionally light headed, and Mosh was still trying to reach him. The Bolian was now laying flat on the log and stretching out to the Engineer with everything he had. The pain of the stings subsided quickly as the numbing effect quickly spread through his body. He closed his eyes and for a moment drifted in and out of consciousness. His eyes snapped open at the sound of a phaser pistol discharge and then everything went black as the weapons area effect stun took hold of him. He'd tried to reach him without stepping into the nest himself, but Matrix's strength seemed to be waning rapidly. Without any other options, he grabbed the phaser rifle from his belt and quickly set it for a wide beam stun setting. He pointed it directly at the lieutenant and fired. The beam had the desired effect. Not only did Lieutenant matrix collapse unconscious, but the insects suddenly fell away from him. Some exploded from the effects of the beam. He fired again, this time at the ground where a few of them were still moving. They also popped or went still and Mosh, deciding it was safe jumped down to the ground beside Matrix. He quickly pulled open one eyelid and immediately recognized one of the signs of toxic shock. The whites of his eyes had turned a light blue and Mosh somehow knew he had to get the Engineer back to the ship or he'd die. He broke radio silence. "Moshe to Rosenante Sickbay. "You want to enter through there, or use a door and make our way through the building?" she asked. "Why bother with the door? I'm game if you are." There was no sense in going through a lot more bodies than was required. The window would be fine, if she helped him with his gear, that is. He re-holstered his phaser, it wasn't going to help him climb through the window. Eva took a stun grenade from her webbing, pulled the pin and threw it through the window. The sound of shattering glass was incredibly loud, to Dorian, but the assault had commenced, and the element of surprise couldn't be kept forever. A flash came from the window, and Eva bounced gracefully, he feet finding purchase in small details of the wall, her gun sweeping the inside of the room. It didn't take long for the computer to interface and translate the OS, and override it. A few key-strokes later and he had bypassed it's security. "St-Jean, I don't like this. It's too easy. He knew that is was not something the CMO liked him to do, but she was not here. ~She's off getting a suntan somewhere and I'm stuck here with patients, so why should I care.~ It took the EMH at least two bounces at least before he realised that he was being shadowed. “Doctor, I’m not trying to intentionally be a pain in the neck about this, but if you could just give me my uniform, or let me replicate another, I can get out of your way and be on mine.” The privateer said as he stalked the EMH around the examination room. "Really Mr Raschen you haven't figured out how it works round here yet have you? One of our doctors has to sign off on you and none of them are available at present apart from me. I won't since your doctor was our CMO. She needs to sign your paperwork since only being an EMH I can't." “Doc, I don’t know how to threaten you, but if you don’t give me back my uniform, I will find a way!” The EMH sighed. "And you think that scares me Mr Raschen. Believe me. There is nothing that you can say to me that will scare me. Nothing that you can do to me would be anything near what the CMO could do to me if I let you leave here. I suggest you take it up with her when she returns and it might be better if you returned to your bed, since I personally wouldn't care to take this up with her dressed only in a sheet. Although if you are really determined would you allow me to hold a book on that?" =^=Salid to Raschen and Janeway, please report to the ready room at once=^= “I’ll be there as soon as the EMH allows me to get dressed sir.” The EMH cocked an eyebrow at Raschen. "Well Ensign it looks like we both got given 'get out of jail cards'. You have my permission to use the CMO's office to replicate your uniform and leave. Good Luck Ensign. Your injuries suggest that you need to be checked out again tomorrow. I suggest you leave it until after 2pm. That way you will miss the CMO's shift, if your lucky." (Reply Raschen) (Posted by Marilyn) --------------------------------------------------------------------- (USS Rosenante, Main Bridge - FO, Lt Jono Janeway - 1334) Jono was sat in the command chair, keeping the ship under a tight command while keeping security at the push of a button. After what had happened with the Holographic Marine, he had made Raschen triple internal security around the ship, as well as at some of the main computer points. Anything that had happened with the Holograph couldnt be risked again, the ship had almost been noticed by several nearby ships and T'Val was badly injured and still in sickbay. He had woken up a couple of hours after his attack enough to tell of what happened to him. He then fell back to sleep and the Doctors had been monitoring him closely. This mission was a high risk mission for the crew and the ship and it seemed someone wanted to make it even harder for them to stay undetected. It wasnt a fun prospect; being found vulnerable in Orion Space. Jono steered his thoughts away from that traversty while signing off some reports and handing out a couple of course changes to the conn, managing to avoid un-necessary vessels wherever possible. =^=Salid to Raschen and Janeway, please report to the ready room at once.=^= Jono tapped his comm. badge and said, "Be right there, Captain." He stepped out of the chair and handed over command as he then moved quickly to the captains ready room and walked in as the door opened. He nodded to Ahmed and moved over to where the Captain was sat before saying, "What is it Captain?" (Reply Ahmed, Raschen) (Posted by Jono) --------------------------------------------------------------------- (USS Rosenante, Ready room - CO, Capt. Ahmed Ibn Salid - 1336) A few moments later, Jono entered the ready room from the bridge. "What is it Captain?" he asked. "We may have an issue with Ensign Raschen. or we may have someone on board making it look like we have a problem with Raschen. I'm not exactly certain which is the case yet." Ahmed replied. "He's in sickbay currently but should be here shortly. Take a look at this." Ahmed pushed a PADD over to Janeway. I displayed the translated message, [UFP Ship Rosenante at Barakos IV looking for Prince Advise instructions] "That message was sent from the Rosenante while you were on the planet. It was encrypted using a current F.I.F. cipher. And we now know that it was set up to run remotely, meaning it was preprogrammed to run the program while the away team was on the planet." "We also found financial transactions to Raschen's personal account from the Ferengi Mercantile Exchange in a sizable sum." "Now chance has admitted to me that he has been unsavory in the past. And he has disclosed that he has worked with the Orion's prior. So I'm trying to decide if that was a ruse on his part to establish trust so that I would dismiss these as a set-up...or if there actually is a set-up underway." "I wanted you here, because of your position as acting FO as well as your background in security." (reply Janeway) Ahmed nodded, "I need to be certain, that's all. I've decided to try the direct approach." A moment later the chime sounded and Ahmed called out "Enter." He pushed a PADD over to Jono as he took a seat, the PADD displayed a short but a rather enticing message for a previous Security Chief of the vessel. "I wanted you here, because of your position as acting FO as well as your background in security." Jono nodded, "I have to admit, this is a little more than odd. Once we find the culprit behind that message, I'll be pleased. As for whether its Raschen, I cannot be certain if I'm inclining towards him as a main suspect, Captain. Judging on the Ensign's background I cannot help but think he would be more careful and have allot more security around transactions such as those you've mentioned above. It seems more like a set-up to me, but without speaking with him directly we'll never know." Ahmed nodded, "I need to be certain, that's all. I've decided to try the direct approach." Just then the door chime rang and the Captain said' Enter'. Jono had to admit, Raschen seemed to have an immpecable sense of timing. (Reply Raschen, Ahmed) (Posted by Jono) --------------------------------------------------------------------- (USS Rosenante –Ready Room- aCSEC – ENS Chance Raschen – 1345) Once Chance replicated a uniform in the CMO’s office, he got his pants and boots on before running out of the office, out of Sick Bay, and down the passageway toward the turbo-lift. As he ran, he finished putting on his shirt and jacket, and then used the time in the lift to square himself away. Once the lift doors opened, Raschen ‘range walked’, the ol’ walk fast but don’t run, to the skipper’s Ready Room. Once at the door, he pressed the button for the chime and turned his head to look around the bridge. Some of the looks he saw ranged from distrust to betrayal to accusing; Raschen knew he had done some terrible things in his day, but wasn’t aware of anything he had done to any of the Rosenante’s crew to deserve looks like the ones he saw. Once the door opened, Raschen walked up to the desk, went to the position of attention, saluted, and said “Ensign Raschen reporting as ordered sir.” (Reply Salid) (Reply Salid) (Posted by Charlie) --------------------------------------------------------------------- End Compile ---------------------------------------------------------------------
