If so, have her put together some inoculations to be distributed to any members of the away teams prior to their departure from the ship." said the Captain in a low tone. ~ A good disciplined mind can inhibit a lot.~ "Deltans are required to take a similar inhibitor as a precursor to star ship service. A reception inhibitor, instead of an excretion inhibitor should be easy enough to..." she started. ~I'm babbling, I should stop.~ "Understood, sir, I'll handle it." she said simply. The Captain nodded and continued on to his ready room. When T'Larah's relief came, she too made her way off of the bridge, and into the turbo-lift. "Sick Bay." she commanded and the lift obeyed. Bird - 0952) Paul sat in his office , groaning inwardly to himself . He was doing that chore which he perhaps hated most of all , of least at this moment it was - crewa evaluations . If it as up to him , they would just read the same , with just the name changed , saying they were performing well . To individually go through the whole engineering department and to write a brief summery on them all was quite simply torture . He was hoping that he could recall how everybody was doing from the last time . ~ Hmm the last time , I wonder if the captain would notice if I just sent in the last report again and just changed the date ? ~ . Smiling to himself he immersed himself once more into the onerous task " Lt . T'Pong , what do I say other than ' Vulcan ' ? " . Paul was interrupted in thinking he would give anything to be taken away from this task , ,when he got a comms message from the new F.O. "Lt. Janeway to Lt. Bird , The Captain would like to see you in his ready room . " " Acknowledged Sir , I'm on my way " . ~ Be careful of what you wish for ..... what's up now ? ~ Paul put his reports on hold and made his way to see th captain . --------------------------------------------------------------------- (USS Rosenante, Main Bridge - FO - Lt. Jono Janeway - 0955) Mister Janeway you have the Bridge, I'll be in my ready room. Please notify Mister Bird that I'd like to see him there." Jono stood up as Ahmed stood up, he nodded to him and then took the Command chair. He continued on with the work he was doing while he communicated with Lt. Bird. "Lt. Janeway to Lt. Bird, The Captain would like to see you in his ready room." (Reply Bird) (Posted by Jono) --------------------------------------------------------------------- ( U.S.S. Rosenante - Outside The Captain's Ready Room - CEO - Lt. Bird - 1000) Paul knocked on the ready room door and paused for the captain's enter , before doing so . Paul came to attention in front of his senior's desk and asked " You wished to see me Cap'n ? " ( Reply Salid ) ( Posted By Paul ) --------------------------------------------------------------------- (USS Rosenante -Sickbay - 2O/CTAC - Lieutenant T'Larah Sullivan-1002) T'Larah strode into medical looking for the CMO. "Can I help you?" asked a very young medical technician. "Yes, I wish to speak to the Chief Medical Officer, Doctor Caskie." she said blandly. "Sir, are you sure there is nothing I can help you with?" asked the young woman eagerly. "Yes I am certain, I was told by the Captain to speak with the CMO directly. What she does with the information, is her business." she informed her, "Now where is the CMO? In her office?" she asked. "Yessir, just around that corner." she said a little too chipper for T'Larah's taste. ~Well I suppose that a pleasant bedside manner is preferable.~ T'Larah mused. Sullivan rounded the corner as the young lady suggested and met up with the CMO diligently working on some bit of (she presumed) medical information. "Doctor, I have a request from the Captain." she said as soon as Josh noticed her. (Reply Dr. Caskie) "The Captain has requested an adaptation of the Deltan pheromone suppressant to aid in the bolstering of our male crew's willpower when dealing with the Orion females." she reported. (Reply Dr. Caskie) (Posted by Todd) --------------------------------------------------------------------- (USS Rosenante - CMO's Office - Sickbay - CMO Lt (sg) Josh Caskie - 1003) Josh was working away at her desk when her door swished open. It did not do that for anyone, but Josh had managed to talk an engineer into programing it for certain people's comm badges. In Sickbay the only people it would allow were her ACMO Henna-Star, the Chief Nurse and Chief Fuller, but it also was programmed to allow immediate access to all of the Command Staff too. As Josh looked up she was surprised to see the second officer standing there. "Doctor, I have a request from the Captain." she said as soon as Josh noticed her. Josh got to her feet and smiled at Lt Sullivan. "Bye all means Lientenant, how can I help you. " "The Captain has requested an adaptation of the Deltan pheromone suppressant to aid in the bolstering of our male crew's willpower when dealing with the Orion females." she reported. Josh hid a smile at the request and sat back down again. "I think we can come up with something that will work Sir. I will put a few of my best people on it and should have something before the deadline Sir." (No reply needed) (Posted by Marilyn) --------------------------------------------------------------------- (USS Rosenante – Bridge– CO- Capt. Ahmed Ibn Salid- 1455) "Captain we have reached the coordinates sent to us by Admiral Talbot." Dralar reported, "I am showing a fleet of eleven ships, five Arturian, five Meldovian and one Vulcan." Ahmed glanced over at Janeway then smiled. "Mister Dralar drop us out of warp and slow us to 1/4 impulse. Mister Smith, please hail the Vulcan ship and notify Arbiter T'Val that we have arrived." (reply Smith) The main viewer changed from the image of streaking stars and was replaced by the rather squarish looking Cartenian designed ships of the two factions. The streamlined form of the rust colored Vulcan starship, with it's distinctive circular warp ring readily identified it. "On screen." Ahmed stood, and in the tradition of so many Starfleet officers before him, tugged at the front hem of his uniform jacket. He raised his right hand and spread his fingers in the traditional Vulcan salute as the image of the fleet was resolved into that of the Arbiter. "Peace and Long Life, Arbiter T'Val." (reply T'val) "I am Captain Ahmed Ibn Salid or the Federation Starship Rosenante. We are at your service." (reply T'val) "I am under the understanding that we may be hosting delegations from both the Meldovians as well as the Arturians, is that correct Arbiter?" (reply T'Val.) "Very well, if you would kindly pass the information on the delegates to my Chief operations Officer, we will be prepared to received the delegations and yourself with in the hour." (reply T'val) "Very good, Arbiter. Rosenante out." The channel closed, replacing the image of T'val with that of the assembled fleet once again. Ahmed turned to Smith. "Mister Smith, notify Doctor Caskie, Lieutenant's Bird, Matrix, Twinpoints, Ro'Dal Chief Sheridan, Ensigns V'Shera, T'kron, and Weaver That they will be expected in dress uniform in transporter room one at 1545 to receive the Arbiter and the delegations. Have Lieutenant Smith put together a security detail to be posted for the collective security of the delegation during their stay on board. I will expect you to attend as well." (reply Smith) Ahmed turned his attention to his chief of security. "Mister Raschen, coordinate with Lieutenant Ro'Dal and assemble a security honor guard for our guests. Also conduct another security sweep of the Arbiters and the delegates quarters prior to their arrival. You will be expected to be in the transporter room in full dress as well." (reply Raschen) "Mister Janeway and Mister Sullivan, I'll see you in the transporter room in dress uniform as well. Jono until then you have the bridge. I am going to brush up on my Cartenian etiquette prior to their arrival. Keep a close eye on the two fleets. They've been at war for the last 400 years and I'm certain that both sides haven't simply forgotten that. Mister Sullivan make a detailed assessment, as time permits so that we know what their combined fleet capabilities are. See if we can get any information from our Vulcan allies." (reply Janeway, Sullivan, Smith, Raschen, T'Val, Any Mentioned, Any) (posted by Daniel Greene) --------------------------------------------------------------------- (USS Rosenante – OPS Office Center– SCPO Phil Sheridan- 1456) Phil had headed to the Office suite after the recent meeting. He wanted some time to review the recent OPS logs - trying to come up to speed. Sheridan was deep into the logs when Ensign Smith's call caused him to start. Chief Sheridan replied "Understood Ensign - I will be there - thanks for the heads up" and closed the link. Sighing, Phil headed to his quarters to change into the Dress uniform - he hated the thing - stiff collar and all his awards and such. Arriving at his quarters, he entered and withdrew his Dress Uniform from his closet. He looked over the awards, making sure everything was as it should be. He showered and shaved. He looked a himself in the mirror and sighed again. He had several wound scars and mark's from a long thirty year career. Phil wondered what 'retirement' would be like? He'd had to keep himself busy or he'd die of boredom. Checking himself one last time in the mirror - he headed to Transporter Room 1. (reply: any/none) (Posted by: Bill West) --------------------------------------------------------------------- (Vulcan Ship Tharal, Bridge - Vulcan Arbiter T'Val - 1457) Long Range sensors had picked up the USS Rosenante from a great distance, the Vulcan Arbiter had been ready for many hours; speaking with both sides of the delegation seperatley he still hadnt managed to arrive at a logical conclusion why either side should lower their weapons and shields. At least not yet he hadnt. However he had managed to arrive at an agreeance of 'waiting time' which he would give the Rosenante's Captain and he crew to do their jobs. "Sir, The USS Rosenante is dropping out of warp. They're hailing us." "On-Screen, the CO said" The viewscreen popped alive as the face of an obviously younger man and his bridge crew became animated before them. =^=Peace and Long Life, Arbiter T'Val.=^= The officer which most resembled the Captain's image in the Vulcan database said. He had performed the Vulcan salute. T'Val made the same gesture back and said; "Peace and Long Life, Captain." =^=I am Captain Ahmed Ibn Salid of the Federation Starship Rosenante. We are at your service.=^= T'Val nodded, "That information is Logical Captain." He said in a slight upright manner =^=I am under the understanding that we may be hosting delegations from both the Meldovians as well as the Arturians, is that correct Arbiter?=^= "Yes, that is correct. However as you can see both Meldovian and Arturian fleets are rather aprehensive. They will transport their officials onto my ship and then we will travel together to yours for further negotiations." =^=Very well, if you would kindly pass the information on the delegates to my Chief operations Officer, we will be prepared to received the delegations and yourself with in the hour.=^= T'Val nodded once more, "We will speak more then Captain. Could I be so forward and ask for a meeting with you and your command staff as soon as we are aboard? I have some information as well as a time-frame which we must work too. How you then distribute that information is yours to consider." +^=Very good, Arbiter. Rosenante out.=^= The image of the bridge crew vanished just as quickly as it had appeared. "Who was the vulcan in the image" He said as he turned around to his information specialist. "I didnt receive any biographies for such a crew member." He stated. "I'm looking, Arbiter. It seems Starfleet hadnt reactived her biography until she had been confirmed arrival on the ship. Currently Lt. T'Larah Sullivan is the Second Officer and Chief of Tactical on the USS Rosenante." "Good." was all the Arbiter said. "Captain, Communciate with both fleets. Have them send over the officials they wish to have onboard the USS Rosenante and limit them to 6 personnel each. Once they arrive on-board, house them in seperate areas until time for transport." T'Val said as he made his way of the bridge. (Reply none yet) (Posted by Jono) --------------------------------------------------------------------- (USS Rosenante, Main Bridge - FO - Lt. Jono Janeway - 1458) Jono watched intently as Ahmed conversed with the Vulcan arbiter, he had been activating scans of his own on the whole fleet just encase their was anything they needed to desperatley know. The two factions seemed to have their shields and weapons powered up, just waiting for one of the sides to strike to disable the peace treaty which seemed to have been long worked upon. As the Vulcans face disappeared of the view screen Ahmed turned back to the Bridge crew. I will expect you to attend as well." Ahmed said. (Reply Smith) Ahmed turned his attention to his chief of security. "Mister Raschen, coordinate with Lieutenant Ro'Dal and assemble a security honor guard for our guests. Also conduct another security sweep of the Arbiters and the delegates quarters prior to their arrival. You will be expected to be in the transporter room in full dress as well." “Aye cap’n,” Raschen said before making for the turbolift. "Mister Janeway and Mister Sullivan, I'll see you in the transporter room in dress uniform as well. See if we can get any information from our Vulcan allies." Ahmed then said as a final speach. Jono nodded, "Yes, Captain. Will do." With the responses from himself and T'Larah; Ahmed made his way to his ready room once more. Jono waited a few minutes before ordering the ship to a stand-still near the two fleets, ready to take defensive maneuvers encase of an attack. Watching the fleets for the next half-an-hour or so Jono and the bridge crew noticed the fleets lead ships drop shields ~Must be to transport officals accross~ It was a good sign, it meant both sides trusted the Vulcan Arbiter probably more than they trusted each other. It came the time when Jono needed to move and get changed otherwise he would be late. He stood up and let the officer next in line in charge of the bridge with explicit instructions to notify a command officer if the situation changed. He moved through the bridge quickly and headed into a turbolift to get to his quarters and change. (Reply any, none) (Posted by Jono) --------------------------------------------------------------------- (USS Rosenante - Officers Mess Hall - TSEC Ensign V'Shera (jg) - 1459) Ensign V'Shera was just finishing a late lunch when her commbadge chripped. Over her badge Lt. Smith's voice informed V'Sherar that she needed to be in the Main Transporter Room no later than 1545 today. She was to be in full dress uniform to officially welcome Vulcan Arbiter T'Val to the Rosenante. Though V'Shera had never met the most esteemed Vulcan male Arbiter, she was well aware of T'Val's outstanding record as both a devote disciple of logic and a skilled diplomat.. If she had not been a Vulcan, V'Shera might have experienced trepidation over being in T'Val's enlightened presence. As it was, V'Shera simply looked forward to being teamed with a fellow Vulcan who had such an illustrious and successful diplomatic history. In order to rescue an enslaved prince and forestall an illogical war that already killed countless millions of intelligent beings over the last forty decades, V'Shera's task now was to learn and serve under the command of an dedicated human captain and an inspiring Vulcan Arbiter. V'Shera's only reservation was a silly, No illogical, concern that T"Val might have concerns over her failure to achieve Kolinr. ~But Vulcan Arbiters had long learned the lesson of the IDAC, and tolerances, even for those Vulcan's who hadn't yet learned to cast off their illogical emotions.~ V'Shera reminded herself of that as she tapped her commbadge said; "Order acknowledge, Mister Smith. Ensign V'Shera out." (Reply Lt. Smith, Any) Wasting no time V'Shera got up, deposited the remains of her vegetarian meal in matter recycling port and rushed off to her quarters to do as she was ordered. (Reply None. Mostly they were a good bunch, mostly. Most of them he wouldn't trust them farther then he could throw them, but he had the people he really trusted in key crew positions, all the command slots and medical and of course the cooks, couldn't have someone he didn't trust cooking his food. Didn't like replicated either, something about the flair living hands could put on his grub made a man feel happy. "I suppose you all are wondering why I've called for this assembly." he said loudly, more a statement then a question. One of the crowd yelled out, "YEAH SKIPPER, WHY ARE WE HERE?!" "Well, as we are here at Barakos IV, and we are here before my business contact gets here..." ~Not quite a lie, I know Charlie wouldn't be calling without a job.~ "...with the exception of a minimal crew, Boson has the schedule, I have authorized shore leave for the lot of you." he said with a smile. The entire room exploded in boisterous applause and cheering. "Settle down now, before you get going with your drinking carrying on and whoring, just remember, when my contact gets here, I'm going to initiate a recall. Everyone needs to be on board exactly THREE hours after that recall. Check the duty roster before you leave." Ed paused for effect. "PIRATES, DISMISSED." he said at the top of his lungs. The cargo bay cleared so fast, that Ed double checked to make sure there was still atmosphere in it. "God I love my work." he muttered to himself and got to his own plans for relaxation. (Reply any pirate) (Posted by Todd) --------------------------------------------------------------------- (USS Rosenante – Bridge – aCSEC - ENS Chance Raschen - 1500.5) "Mister Raschen, coordinate with Lieutenant Ro'Dal and assemble a security honor guard for our guests. Also conduct another security sweep of the Arbiters and the delegates quarters prior to their arrival. You will be expected to be in the transporter room in full dress as well." “Aye cap’n,” is what he said as he started toward the turbo-lift; but as he tapped his comm.-badge he thought ~I don’t even like wearing this blasted uniform, let alone a dress uniform~ but said “Lieutenant Ro’Dal, this is Raschen; can you get a security honor guard together and in transporter room 1 wearing their class “A”s in the next 35 minutes while I do another security sweep of our guest’s quarters before they arrive?” (Reply Ro’Dal) “Oh, by the way, skip wants us there and dressed up as well.” (Reply Ro’Dal) “Okay, see ya’ there.” He said as the connection was closed before setting off to get his half of security’s chores done so he can get all dressed up. (Reply Ro’Dal) (Posted by Charlie) --------------------------------------------------------------------- (USS Rosenante – Security Department – Sec.O Lt. Ro'Dal - 1501) A soft vibration of the PADD ensconced in one of her uniform pockets alerted Ro' to an incoming message, and she'd just pulled it out to read when Ensign Raschen commed her. She tapped her commbadge. =/\= Lieutenant Ro’Dal, this is Raschen; can you get a security honor guard together and in transporter room 1 wearing their class “A”s in the next 35 minutes while I do another security sweep of our guest’s quarters before they arrive? =/\= Glancing at the PADD she saw it was a message informing her of what the aCSEC was telling her. "We will be there promptly." Ro'Dal assured her boss. =/\= Oh, by the way, skip wants us there and dressed up as well. =/\= Ro' nodded, she didn't mind the dress uniform to much, the white of it actually accentuated the color of her skin in a most complimentary manner. "Understood, sir." “Okay, see ya’ there.” The aCSEC said as the connection was closed. Glancing around the room, Ro' saw that there were more than enough security personnel for her to pick out half a dozen. "Senogles, T'Rel, Warren, Olivier, Deetrus, O'Connell!" She raised her voice slight so that all in the room would hear her. The six named turned and looked at her with questions in their eyes. "You're just been volunteered for an honor guard." The groans were audible and she gave them a stern glower of displeasure. "Go and get tarted up in your best class "A"s and meet me outside Transporter Room 1 in 25 minutes. GO!" The six lucky selected, scurried to get out of the doors and away from the Lieutenant. Ro' waited a minute and then strode out after them to go to her own quarters. It wouldn't take the Takaran long to freshen up and put on her dress whites. (reply Any) (posted by Sal --------------------------------------------------------------------- (SS Bounty - Bridge - 2nd Mate -Phelan Kell - 1505) Phel's antennae twitched as his brow's furrow kept changing shape, size and orientation. With the rabble on board, almost none of which he trusted, he would have to make sure every single thing was triple-bolted down to the bulkhead to make sure it stayed there. Not a great deal of the crew liked him, and that was fine by him. His father had always said: 'Boy, you have to learn to love being hated.' Sure, it was all a facade, but a very useful one. The permanent scowl of his Andorian visage was enough to discourage most of them, but still. While everyone was busy getting ready to leave, Phel wanted to make sure that no one got their hands on anything that could upset the fragile truce on the ship. Most of the low level grunts might be unaware of it, but the top spots were the wrong places to be if you weren't ruthless, and cunning. Already he knew some would stab him just to get his better cabin, he didn't even dare imagine what some people would do to declare themselves captain on this bucket. He looked at his security measures, swipped his finger on the authentication pad, then flipped his station's intercom: 'Skip, Phell here. The bridge is pretty quiet, I was wondering if you'd like to go over some... arrangements I thought prudent.' (Reply Easy Ed) The skipper was always too good to the lot of them. Sure, some of them he could trust… but some of them…~let's just say I wouldn't think twice about spending a few cubic meters of air if I had to empty an airlock if they came for me.~ (Reply any pirate) (Posted by Mathieu Raymond) --------------------------------------------------------------------- (SS Bounty - Personal Quarters - Vessel Master - CAPT "Easy Ed" Raschen - 1507) Ed's always liked to be one of the last to leave for the first wave of shore leave. The reason was the first few hours was always crowded, people lined up around the corridor to beam planet side. In the mean time his thoughts turned to not what he was going to do when he got planet side, but whom he was going to do it with. There were several young ladies he had promised his time to saying "next time I get shore leave babe, you and me..." The trick was to choose and not let the others see, so he could continue the facade. =^= Skip, Phell here. The bridge is pretty quiet, I was wondering if you'd like to go over some... arrangements I thought prudent. =^= "Phell, is this something that can be discussed over open comms, or am I going to have to come up there?" he responded. (Reply Phell) "Very-well, on my way." he said. Shortly he was on the bridge. The 'lift doors opened revealing his Second Mate manning the bridge, on look out completely alone. He always had Phell take the first watch, he was a dependable sort who had an attention to detail that he needed to make sure he didn't get ripped off. That's why he holds an officer position instead of a crew hand, also it's why he gets paid well. "What did you need?" Ed asked as he strode across the bridge toward it's center. (Reply Phell) (Posted by Todd) --------------------------------------------------------------------- (USS Rosenante – Corridor outside & inside Transporter Room 1 – Sec.O Lt. Ro'Dal - 1530) Ro' had Senogles, T'Rel, Warren, Olivier, Deetrus and O'Connell! line up and stand at attention while she walked along in front of them like a drill sergent, giving them the once over and stopping now and then to straighten a collar or brush of a tunic. "I guess you'll have to do." She said finally, "now get inside and take position, the hobnobs will be arriving soon and I expect you to be silent and alert. I don't expect any trouble, but if there is any sign of aggression from anyone, take them in hand immediately." The six chorused an "aye, Sir," and with smooth precision turned as one and trooped into the transporter room where a solitary operator stood by. Ro' followed on their heels and gave the young crewman a nod as her honor guard took up their positions, three on each side of the room, standing ram rod straight. She moved to the front and stepped back against the right hand wall. She had to admit to herself that her people looked quite impressive and she was proud of them. "At ease!" The Takaran told them, standing at ease herself to await the arrival of her superiors and the consequent arrival of their guests. Sullivan looked around at the gathered honor guard detail, in their dress uniforms. ~That is good for short notice.~ It reminded her that she too was in her dress uniform. It's white color a stark contrast to her standard duty attire. She waited for the other people to arrive. (reply any in or going to Transporter Room 1) (Posted by Todd) --------------------------------------------------------------------- (USS Rosenante – Transporter Room 1 – aCSEC - ENS Chance Raschen – 1539.5) Raschen did the security sweep on the quarters for the delegates and the arbiter, TWICE before he was satisfied. Then he made the mad dash for the transporter room after putting on his dress uniform with his awards straight and his FIF patch on his right arm, Chance was sure he looked okay, but he had other things on his mind, all of which concerned Barakos IV. As he entered the transporter room Raschen noticed the Honor Guard was in place with Ro’Dal in charge and he was content to let it be that way.. Because he didn’t find anything wrong with the guest quarters, Chance saw no reason to make a report immediately; that was one report he could quietly make as everyone exited the transporter room. So finding a place out of the way, he waited for their guests to arrive, just like everyone else there. (Reply any iyw) (Posted by Charlie) --------------------------------------------------------------------- (USS Rosenante - Deck 10, Transporter Room 1 - Ensign jg Dorian Weaver - 1540) As Dorian stepped out of the turbolift, he chastised himself for being so late. He hated latecomers, as if the world had nothing better to do than to wait for them. He felt good finally wearing his dress uniform. He'd longed for this kind of exposure, which he had to admit, he had missed during his Starfleet Academy training. ~If my parents know one thing, it's how to throw a social function. Plus, teasing Amélie and Janie had always been fun, with them squirming in their gowns all night long...~ As he lift his head up, he saw a Vulcan officer heading into the Transporter Room. ~Just hope you're not the last, man.~ He rubbed his fresh-shaved jaw one last time, the goatee he'd favoured during his academy years now gone. ~And you look a lot more professional now, young man.~ He could almost hear his father speaking. As the doors opened, the security detail impressed him. Nothing said 'don't mess with us' as six discreetly armed but very straight security officers. ~Good, now stand at the back, let your seniors do the talking, and this will be just fine.~ He did wonder why such a junior memeber of the crew was requested, but knew better than to ask right now. He noted the presence of a new Science officer and Counselor among the crew and nodded politely. (Dorian Weaver IYW, Michelle to Twinpoints IYW, Any) He understood the importance of this meeting with the famous Arbiter T'Val and looked forward to meeting him. He had studied the T'Val's teaching and philosophy for many years. Had he been human, he might have been termed a groupie. But as he was Vulcan, he logically found wisdom, truth and purpose in T'Val's writings. He knew that meeting a Vulcan of such upstanding significance and magnitude would be something he would write about to his family in ShiKahr. T'Kron silently lined up with the other Starfleet officers in an effort to appear as orderly as possible to meet Arbiter T'Val and the rest of the delegation. May you all live long and prosper." (Reply any in the transporter room) As she spoke, V'Shera walked quickly to a place in line commensurate with her lower rank. Listening to the others talk, V'Shera got a good sense of commitment from all the senior officers concerning Prince Angkor's rescue. It was at 1543 that the Vulcan Arbiter T'Val beamed aboard. Captain Salid proceeded to introduce everybody to him and the real adventure to Orion Space began in deadly earnest. (Reply Any) (Posted by Jim McCrary) --------------------------------------------------------------------- (USS Rosenante - Deck 10, Transporter Room 1 - CMO Lt (sg) Caskie - 1542) Josh hated her dress uniform, but not for the reason that everyone else did. The collar fitted her exactly, the shoulders fitter her exactly the same, in fact every single piece of her uniform fitted her exactly without a wrinkle or a crease. What really pissed Josh off was the colour. She hated white and had long ago decided that whoever had come up with the white dress uniform should have been hung, drawn and quartered as far as she was concerned. Ok, it was a personal thing. Josh with her pale skin, freckles and , to be honest, ginger hair, simply was swamped by a white jacket and she hated the thing big time. No-one with her colouring should ever even be allowed to wear white, since they simply faded into background, never ever to be seen again., So Josh sighed as she put on her dress jacket and simply smiled half-heartedly at the ghost that appeared in the mirror. Taking out her medals, she pinned them on to her jacket and scowling at herself flipped her pleat back over her shoulder and made her way to transporter room 1. Nodding to everyone else there she made her way to the line up and took her position. (No reply needed) (Posted by Marilyn) --------------------------------------------------------------------- (USS Rosenante- Transporter Room 1- CO- Capt. Ahmed Ibn Salid- 1543) "Oh, I completely agree Jono. I think that we're in for quite an…interesting time on this mission, what with the location of the prince still unknown and the potential to rekindle a war that's already lasted for four centuries hanging in the balance." Ahmed was saying to his first officer as the doors to the transporter room slid open. The captain immediately put on his diplomat's face and allowed himself a slight smile as he did so. His senior officers looked terribly uncomfortable, as was Ahmed to a degree. He was also very aware of the fact that there were members of his crew who had more medals on their chest than he did. It wasn't that he was a glory hound in any stretch of the imagination. It was just a little unsettling when he considered that some of them might be better qualified to be captain, at least as far as commendations were concerned. ~Command chose you for a reason, Ahmed~ he reminded himself. He walked past the honor guard that Ro'Dal had assembled and smiled. She had chosen good strong looking personnel to play the part. They were well decorated and he knew them to be competent. He paused next to the Security lieutenant, "Excellent job Mister Ro'Dal as always. You keep this up I may have to raise my opinion of you from exceptionally competent to damn near perfect." he said smiling. (reply Ro'Dal) Ahmed walked along the line of his assembled officers. Some looked more comfortable in their dress uniforms that others. Lieutenant's Twinpoints and Caskie being part of the latter. "You look fabulous ladies." he said as they twitched, "however considering your displeasure with the uniforms I'll endeavor to release you once the Arbiter has left the transporter room." (reply Caskie, Twinpoints) Ahmed smiled and made his way over to Sullivan. "Everything set, Lieutenant?" (reply Sullivan) "Very good." Ahmed came to rest near the transporter chief. "Have we received the transport coordinates?" "Yes sir. And the Arbiter is standing by." Ahmed nodded and took his position in the center of the room. Jono came over and joined him. Ahmed straightened his dress tunic jacket, "Transport when ready Chief." "Aye sir, energizing now." The room filled with the subdued hum of the transporter and after a few moments the swirling streams of energy coalesced and Arbiter T'val had arrived. The Boson sounded his pipes. (reply T'val) "Permission granted Arbiter. Welcome aboard the Rosenante" (reply T'val) "Please allow me to introduce you to my senior officers and key personnel." He turned to Jono. "This is my Acting First Officer Lieutenant Janeway." (reply Janeway, T'Val) "And my Second officer and Chief Tactical Officer, Lieutenant Sullivan." (reply Sullivan, T'Val) "My chief medical officer, Doctor Caskie" (reply Caskie, T'Val) "My Chief Operations officer, Ensign Smith" (reply Smith, T'Val) "My Chief Security Officer, Ensign Raschen" (reply Raschen, T'Val) "My Chief Engineer, Lieutenant Bird" (reply Bird, T'Val) "My Marine Commanding Officer, Lieutenant Smith" (reply Nav Smith, T'Val) "My Assistant Chief Tactical Officer, Ensign V'Shera" (reply V'Shera, T'Val) "My Assistant Science Officer, Ensign Weaver" (reply Weaver, T'Val) "Science Officer, Ensign Maddox" (reply Maddox, T'Val) "My Chief Counselor Lieutenant Twinpoints" (reply Twinpoints, T'Val) "Operations Senior Chief Petty Officer Sheridan, who will be assisting in coordinating your needs while aboard the Rosenante" (reply Sheridan, T'Val) "Lieutenant Dralar, My CONN Officer and 45th Prince of Skorria and thereby an ambassador at large for the Skorr Hierarchy" "Prosperity and long life" Dralar greeted the Vulcan Arbiter, while raising his hand palm forward, although he did not seem to be able to perform the Vulcan salute. The Arbiter took it in stride. (reply T'val) "And this is one of my finest security Officers, Lieutenant Ro'Dal" (reply Ro'Dal, T'Val) Ahmed then went on to introduce Lieutenant Tallos and Lieutenant Matrix. They spoke a few brief words with the Arbiter. When he had introduced the entirety of his senior and selected staff, he turned back to the arbiter. "If you prefer Arbiter, we can retire to my ready room to discuss the details of the mission and we can leave Lieutenants Janeway, Sullivan and the honor guard to greet the delegations." "That would be sufficient Captain." T'val answered in the usual Vulcan Stoic manner. Ahmed turned to Jono. "Mister Janeway you may dismiss all personnel not essential to welcoming aboard the delegation." Then shot a glance towards his Chief counselor and CMO. (reply Janeway) Ahmed once again turned his attentions to the Arbiter. "Right this way, sir." he said as he ushered the Vulcan out of the transporter room and towards the Ready Room. There was much to discuss. (reply All mentioned) (posted by Daniel Greene) --------------------------------------------------------------------- (USS Rosenante - Deck 10, Transporter Room 1 – Liuetenant Michelle to Twinpoints - 1543.5)   Michelle joined the line-up of dress uniform haters. Her problem was with her tail and legs. She didn't think anyone appreciated yoga until they'd tried to shove a tail through a small hole in the seat of one's pants. Then the pant legs rubbed and itched against the leg fur that started just below her knee. Itch, itch, itch, every time she moved, the echoes of itch every time she stood still. Looking at the other people in the room with her, she thought that if Admiral Gonutz had just put his military in dress uniform daily, he'd have had a much quicker mutiny on his hands. She hoped he was sitting somewhere in a prison cell in a dress uniform. Michelle knew Caitans didn't seem to mind uniforms that much, but they wore clothes off-duty as well. She could only imagine what one of her full-blooded (and furred) cousins serving in fleet would do if presented with a dress-uniform. Probably just stare at the officer trying to issue the order until they gave up and went away. Perfect memories and perfect stubbornness described her father's people perfectly. The first thing she was doing off duty was getting on a pair of shorts and scratching non-stop! Bird - 1544) Paul felt good in his dress uniform , it always made him feel a touch special , and so could not understand why he seemed to be the only officer not to hate it . He looked around the crowded transporter room with intrest , looking at the new faces there . At that moment the transporter whined into action and the ambassadors party arrived on board . Paul , like everybody else , stiffened just a little straighter to the sound of the bosun's pipes . Ahmed welcomed T'Val on board and then started to introduce him to the senior staff . It was now that he realised he was in trouble . T'Val was being greeted with respect in the Vulcan way , meaning the salute . Although he had tried , he had never been able to contort his right hand into the right shape , but it had never mattered as he could with his left . The accident which had happened recently , had left his hand stiff , mainly as he had not heeded the doctor's advice and continued to work with it . Holding it behind his back he tried now to form the salute but could not . ~ spit and damnation .~ " My Chief Engineer , Lt. Bird . " Knowing he could not offer his hand to a touch sensitive race he thought of only one thing to do . He bowed and said " Welcome aboard and success to you . " ( Reply T'val ) As the captain and the Vulcan moved on , Paul let out an inner sigh ~ That worked , I think , and perhaps I'll just pop back into see the doc ... ~ ( Answer Any / None ) ( Posted By Paul ) --------------------------------------------------------------------- (USS Rosenante - Transporter Room 1 - Science Officer - Ensign Andrew Maddox - 1544.5) Andrew couldn't believe that he was volunteered to meet with the visiting delegation. He trotted up to the doors to the transporter room as he was fastening the last bit of his God-awful dress whites. ~That will teach me to miss the science officer's meeting, you get volunteered to go to functions like this.~ The doors opened revealing the massed officers ordered to be here. He saw a few disappointing glances from some of the senior officers. ~Good going Andrew, way to show them how good you are.~ (Reply any) (Posted by Todd) --------------------------------------------------------------------- (USS Rosenante - Deck 10, Transporter Room 1 – Ensign jg Dorian Weaver - 1546) "My Assistant Science Officer, Ensign Weaver" "It is truly an honour, Sir." Dorian did not presume to extend his hand to shake the Vulcan's, as he had seen no one do it yet. Hopefully that was the end of it, and he wouldn't have an opportunity to blunder. So far, so good. The painkillers weren't affecting his judgment too much, apparently. Dorian settled back, waiting as the Arbiter and the Captain left, to see if his presence was still required. He somehow doubted it, but you just never knew. Maybe there would be an opportunity to socialize, later on. He couldn't really have said that Vulcan engineer looked *friendly*, but he had nodded, very politely, and getting along with as many coworkers as possible was always a good goal to strive for. At least this one wouldn't pry into his personal life, that was a safe bet. (reply Any) (Mathieu Raymond) --------------------------------------------------------------------- (USS Rosenante - Transporter Room 1 - 2O/CTAC Lieutenant T'Larah Sullivan - 1547) "Everything set, Lieutenant?" asked the CO. "All Star Fleet customs and courtesies are prepared for the Arbiter's arrival, sir." she said calmly. "Very good." he said and continued his last second checks. Ahmed came to rest near the transporter chief. "Have we received the transport coordinates?" "Yes sir. And the Arbiter is standing by." Ahmed nodded and took his position in the center of the room. Jono came over and joined him. Ahmed straightened his dress tunic jacket, "Transport when ready Chief." "Aye sir, energizing now." The transporter effect coalesced and formed the Arbiter T'val. The Boson played his three note miniature song, signaling the arrival of the dignitary. A resounding snap sounded as the entire room went to attention. The Arbiter was the first to break the silence asking permission to come aboard as per custom, and the Captain responded in turn. "Permission granted Arbiter. Welcome aboard the Rosenante" The Captain began introducing the crew and after introducing Jono, quickly came to T'Larah. "And my Second officer and Chief Tactical Officer, Lieutenant Sullivan." he introduced the two. T'Larah's hand made the "V" salute as was Vulcan custom. "Live long and prosper, Arbiter T'val." she said stoically. (Reply Arbiter T'val) "You have spoken with Master Tuvril." she said as a simple statement of fact. "His instruction was intriguing and invaluable." she finished. (Reply Arbiter T'val) (Posted by Todd) --------------------------------------------------------------------- (USS Rosenante – Main Transporter Room, TSEC Ensign V'Shera (jg) -1548) V"Shera waited with typical Vulcan patience as Captain Salid introduced Arbiter T'Val to the higher ranking officers. Their brief replies fulfilled the diplomatic courtesy. Being half human and half Vulcan, T'Larah Sullivan responded with, "Live long and prosper Arbiter T'val." (Reply Arbiter T'val) "You have spoken with Master Tuvril." she said as a simple statement of fact. "His instruction was intriguing and invaluable," she said. V'Shera was surprised at the mention of Master Tuvril, but carefully concealed her astonishment. He had long been regarded as an old friend of their family on Vulcan and had tried to help her. V'Shera made a mental note to ask T'Larah Sullivan about how his current well being. After a few more introductions of other officers, Captain Salid introduced her. "My Assistant Chief Tactical Officer, Ensign V'Shera." (Reply Arbiter T'val) V'Shera made the same Vulcan salute and said, "Greeting Arbiter. Welcome to the Rosenante.
