Medical personell gathered the young woman from the woman and took her to a near by biobed. Lizzy stepped to the Captain's side. "Sir, we were on our way to come to speak to you. The zombie virus is being more problematic than expected. Mostly do to the fact that the virus cells are already dead, rendering most normal treatment methods mute or just pointless." The zombie virus is being more problematic than expected. Mostly do to the fact that the virus cells are already dead, rendering most normal treatment methods mute or just pointless." The Captain heard what the doctor was saying but didn't like what he was hearing. He stared at the doctor with no response but instead waited patiently for Doctor Caspian to continue. As he listened to her further explanation he caught his breath from helping Meggan get to Sickbay. "I am making a big assumption here, but like most poisons that occur naturally in nature, it might be possible that what can cure this affliction lies in the source of what causes it, namely the Beast. I feel in his blood we might be able to find something that can stop this madness." "Ah," Calvin said reacting to the doctors request. Getting the beast blood would be difficult for a number of reasons. The beast was a very strong and powerful creature. Getting close enough to it for a DNA source could be very difficult. Even if the crew was able to reach the beast without being harmed Calvin knew that the beast would probably be dead or unconscious. There was a certain conundrum with using the beast so barbarically to extract its DNA and use it for a cure. Calvin waved the thought from his head, he needed to move to the matter at hand. After a couple minutes of talking with other officers Doctor Caspian gained the Captain's attention once again. "Sir if you plan on going back to the surface you'll need some kind of medical support." "Very well you can take Shuttle Millon with the flight team," the Captain responded. (posted by Calvin Capps) (Color II - Planetary Capital - ATAC Lt Ryko Skylynx - 1925) "BRING IT DOWN, BRING IT DOWN!" Ryko's voice was so loud it was almost hoarse. Utterly concerned with the target and its wild, lashing tail running rampant through starfleet, coloran and zombie alike, his mind dulled all of his senses to anything not within two feet of him as he ducked, dived and dodged his muscle-bound frame through swipe after rend after blow. His mind snapped back to over ten years previously, when he had been in a similar situation against a quadripedal, psychic assassin. He could almost see the Psi-Der in front of his face instead of the Beast that loomed over him, he could smell the leaking plasma that wasn't in the air, and he could hear the condescending yell of then-MCO Eva Straton as she denounced him a "muscle-bound oaf" with a death wish. If he weren't relying on that instinct to keep him alive, Ryko would have smiled. He fired shot after shot into the Beast's increasingly-exposed belly, looming several feet above him like some unholy leviathan given blasphemous life. Thick, scaly blood oozed from the widening wound, and the gravelling roar of the angered demon - yes, that was a good enough word - was slowing from a vicious rage to a viscous, weary rumble. Ryko sensed the end was near, hence the screaming of his own to finish it off. He was vaguely aware of Kilowa's voice, of the rest of the away team, of the arrival and strafing of shuttles in the air. But his mind blocked them out, focused on something altogether more dire. His phaser rifle's last power supply had run dry. Cursing, Ryko discarded the weapon into the hoard of bodies - living, unliving and dead - that seemed to press around those still battling the creature. He cast around for a split second for his comrade in arms, and his eyes lighted on Drew, eyes intense as his own, with sweat caking his short brown hair to his head. The Marine had just discarded his own energy weapon. Ryko had an idea. He reached up behind his back, dodging another crushing blow from the beast's tail with a desperate roll towards his friend. When his hand emerged it held his mars-forged Katana in a grip harder than the Castroginum* its blade was crafted from. Seeming to read his Betazoid friend's mind, Drew did likewise with the weapon's twin. Ryko glanced to him then back to the flailing beast, who was clearly feeling the burn from an assault from above, below and... within? Yes! The beast's own Horde of undead seemed to be turning upon it. The unexpected assault had bought them all a few seconds' reprieve. Long enough for Ryko to voice his plan to Drew in one word. "Impale." Drew nodded, his breathing labored but strong enough. Ryko's mind began to tingle and as his battle-addled head became aware of a psychic call - that had came at some point in the very recent past, when didn't much matter - he found himself mirroring it out loud. His mouth was wide open in an unbroken roar of rage as he and Dewalt surged toward the beast's exposed belly, and before the creature had time to counterattack, their blades were buried so deeply within the creature's hide that the two men had almost lost the hilts of their weapons within the demon's entrails... (Posted by Adam Watson) (Color II - Trojan dropship - Lieutenant Gary Fronke - 1928) "We are going now!" Fronke shouted to everyone within earshot. Looking outside of the forward viewport he could see the beast was down and surrounded by people with weapons. It had taken quite a bit of firepower to bring down the beast and it finally had been done. He was just about to close the ship's doors when he noticed two running for the ship. Lt. Skylynx and 1st Lt. Dewalt came up to the ship with weapons drawn looking for a ride back to the ship. Fronke waited for them to board and once they were onboard he closed up the doors and started the departure sequence. The Trojan lifted off of the ground, pointed upwards and began to climb. At this point he did not bother to see if the other two shuttles were in formation to leave with him he just knew with the amount of survivors he had onboard he would not be able to take anyone else and so he continued to climb into the atmosphere. A few minutes later he reached the outer atmosphere of Color II and the Boudicca soon came into view. The Trojan pulled up behind the Boudicca and matched its course and speed to begin docking procedures. "Trojan to Boudicca. Requesting clearance to return onboard." Someone's voice from ops came in and gave the clearance to return to Shuttle Bay 2. Fronke input the final commands into the helm and the Trojan pulled into the shuttle bay and safely landed on the deck. He opened the shuttle doors and medical teams entered with tricorders and medical kits to treat any possible injured. What he failed to realize was that there was a quarantine in place around the shuttle bay under the orders of Captain Capps. The Trojan evacuated and Fronke was the last to exit the ship. As he stepped out he witnessed the the other two shuttles pass through the force field and land next to the Trojan. (Posted by Darryl McDaniel) (Color ll - Planetary Capital – The Beast - 1930) Things for the beast had gone form bad to worse. With the addition of federation reinforcements from the tunnels and from the shuttles. The beast had found itself surrounded and under fire from all sides. The beast shifted his body and brought his massive wings about to absorb has much damage has possible to let harden scales take the damage from the scales that had already been shattered and useless. The damage so far would all be heal able if he could manage escape. He rounded on a group of marines then opened his massive wings wide in an attempt to take to the sky once more and to escape the fierce attack that the federation and what remained of the survivors were putting up. He pumped his wings as he started to lift from the ground, has another shuttle passed overhead. Phasers fired and cut deeply into the beast back at the point where wing and body met, disabling his wings and sending the beast to the ground hard. The beast knew then that this would be the end. How had the beast longed for this day, for his long life to end. So he could be rejoined with the rest of his kin. The air around him hissed as the light of phaser's passed by. He roared in defiance of the death the was coming to claim him Hell fire spew from his mouth more in defense now to keep his attackers at bay. The shuttles passed again and unloaded another deadly salvo into the beast side, arm and neck. She shifted throwing his good wing up defending his body from a score more blast before the heated beams of phasers blasted though the armored membranes that spanned the distance between the bone. Then there was a series of violent explosions that shock the ground. The support columns of the local power grid gave way and came crashing down on the beast. Large chunks of heavy column's landed across the beast back and wings, pinning him to the ground. Then there was another large explosion as a third power column gave way. The power cords snapped and live wires snapped wildly with a life of there own, has the final column fell, and snapped the beast spine in several places. The beast knew the end was near has live wires passed over his body shocking his body. But he could not move having lost the feeling of his extremities. allowing the full extent of his injuries to his body sink in. Pain wracked his body, has he waited for death. The federation marines continued to attack long after the beast ceased his fighting. There was no longer any point. He could no longer fly, nor move his massive form, the damage done to his chest started to make breathing heavy and raged. The beast could also now feel this pulse pounding in his veins. ::Is this how she felt, my mate and kin; Before they were murdered. We do has nature intended and are cursed for our role in the greater schemes of this world. And now you of the federation think you have the greater will to play god on a world that is not your own. you slaughter the animals you need in order to survive don't you.:: More angry beams from phasers cut into into the beast. Several of the federation had given up there energy based weapons and now came at the beast with wild abandon, holding blades that shined in the firelight, and the setting sun. Thoughts started to come harder to the beast has those blade cut deeply into the beast. He eyed those that still stood against him in defiance. ::Those who continue to use technology to surpass evolution to preserve your era. Are now responsible for the loss of something that will never be able to be returned. Know that what secrets I keep I will take with me to the grave. And your children's children will never benefit from that knowledge due to your actions.:: The Beast the lowered his head to the earth and closed his eyes and let himself slip into the darkness, let the pain end, along with his life. (Posted by Matthew Locke) (Color ll - Shuttle – YEO Puceanu - 1932) Meggan Puceanu was perhaps not as successful at severing her link from ‘the Jabberwock’ as she’d hoped. This was understandable. She was not a full telepath, but an empathic metamorph. As such, the yeoman had never received any formal training in telepathy or telepathic defense. In fact, her formative years had been specifically tailored to make her susceptible to outside influence. In the moments before the Beast succumbed, Its final thoughts echoed faintly in Megg’s head. ~Is this how she felt, my mate and kin; Before they were murdered. We do has nature intended and are cursed for our role in the greater schemes of this world. And now you of the federation think you have the greater will to play god on a world that is not your own. you slaughter the animals you need in order to survive don't you.~ ~But I haven’t been murdered…~ Meggan thought. ~And what ‘greater schemes’?!~ Lastly, this: ~Those who continue to use technology to surpass evolution to preserve your era. Are now responsible for the loss of something that will never be able to be returned. Know that what secrets I keep I will take with me to the grave. And your children's children will never benefit from that knowledge due to your actions.~ “Secrets? Knowledge? One last attempt at temptations?” This time, she said it aloud. (Posted by Frank) (USS Boudicca - Bridge - CO Captain Calvin Capps - 2000) Calvin sat in the chair that was bolted down in the center of the bridge. The day has proven to be one of the toughest days the new Captain as ever seen in his career. His right elbow rested on the armrest and his right hand holding his forehead. The Captain's eyes were shut, and he was currently blocking out any sound that was going on around him. Having made it back to the ship 30 minutes ago Calvin has had many tasks to perform and not all of them have been accomplished. At around 1900 the beasts finally laid still in the middle of the planets Capital grounds. Through his approval a DNA sample was taken from the beasts for explicit use for the medical staff to attempt to make a cure for the undead beings on Color II, if that was at all possible. Right now the medical and science staff were working hard and diligently on that possible cure. As soon as it was clear to do so the shuttles and the Trojan picked up all the people that was found in the tunnels. Those people were now sat up in a temporary residence until they could be safely returned to Color II. Each member in the residence had plenty to say and had horrific stories, but not much useful information was attained. When Calvin and the rest of the crew returned to the ship it was with great pleasure to hear that in the hour that they were gone the ship had no power malfunctions. It was also true that none had presented themselves in the past 30 minutes that the Captain had his feet back on his ship. It would seem that returning power back to the capital and destroying the egg that was draining the power had stabilized the Boudicca. For about the last 15 minutes Calvin and part of the senior team had been searching for anyone in the government on the surface. With the power back on, it was hoped that contact could be established. But the truth was that the power hadn't been returned very long and it was uncertain to what extent the power lead to. The Captain eye's suddenly opened when he heard his title being called. "Sir, an in coming hail, originating from the surface." "Very well," Calvin responded with high hopes, "put it through." (posted by Calvin Capps) (USS Boudicca - Bridge - ATAC Lt Ryko Skylynx - 2000) The last two hours had flown by so quickly and so intensely, Ryko was scarcely aware of how exactly he had ended up on the bridge. He recalled the turbolift; the sense of coming-down and fading adrenaline as the car took what seemed to be forever in reaching the bridge. He had wondered idly what experience Drew had encountered as they both returned to the ship in the Trojan dropship. Then he had found himself too concerned with immersing into his own short-term memory and trying to disperse the fog of war that had rudely taken residence in his head... (Posted by Adam Watson) (USS Boudicca - Bridge - CO Captain Calvin Capps & Senator Dook Ptogle - 2004) Dook stood with awe as he looked through his small view screen of the Captain. His mouth dropped at the realization that he was actually being connected to a real live person. He and a few of his aides along with his wife and daughter had been stuck in their governmental bunker without power for hours. He had no way of knowing what was happening on the planet and had no way to help. In the much larger view screen on the Boudicca's bridge Calvin gazed onto the mans face that had hailed the Boudicca. Calvin saw many different emotions in the mans face, but the one that stuck out most was bewilderment. The Captain could see that if he didn't speak first nothing may ever be said. "I am Captain Capps of the USS Boudicca and you are?" The noise emitting from the speakers of the console drew Dook back to life. "Yes yes, I am Senator Ptogle Captain. We are need of help. Something terrible has happened to Color II" the senator cried out. "Senator, we are well aware of the problems on Color II. My crew has risked their lives and I am happy to report that we have taken care of the beast that was plaguing your world. Unfortunately there is much that we haven't and won't be able to fix," the Captain explained very briefly. The Senator feel back into his seat and began to bite one of his fingernails. He seemed distracted. After a few seconds he looked back up into the view screen. "Thank you and to your crew Captain. We are grateful for everything you could do. Might I have a meet with you, I mean, I haven't had contact with any other officials and as far as I know none of them has survived but I sure hope they have." "There are many survivors on your world and we have some of them here on my ship. None of them claim to be in any high appointed office. You would be the first official officer we have had contact with. I believe it would be imperative that we meet Senator Ptogle, how do you care to proceed. If you give us your coordinates our transporters could beam you up to the ship." Dook paused for a minute thinking about what he should do next. "Captain, we didn't have power for the longest time here and now we do. I assume that was from your help?" The Captain smiled, "Yes, two of my best officers were are able to return power back on to most of your grid." "Good, I am currently in a safe bunker that will protect me and all my instruments are here. I prefer to stay here for now and activate the emergency tree to see who I can establish contact with. If we get into any trouble I will contact you immediately if not then expect to hear from me in the morning at 0800 hours." "As you wish Senator. Boudicca out." The view screen switched back to the view of Color II. Calvin turned and walked back toward his chair. ~I guess I am playing babysitter for the night.~ The Captain knew that all the requirements of the survivors were already being taken care of though. (posted by Calvin Capps) (USS Boudicca - Operations Offices - COPS Lieutenant Deynyk Rinn - 2005) Since his return to the Boudicca, life for Deynyk had been exceptionally busy. The refugees from the planet needed to be housed aboard the Boudicca for an unforeseeable length of time, and that meant that some of the ship's larger spaces needed to be converted to berthing space for the displaced persons brought up from the planet. Add to that, the need to screen each refugee for any signs of medical distress or weaponry and it quickly became something of a near-Herculean task to handle the influx of displaced persons in any semblance of order. He stood in the central operations office, with some of his staff clustered in around him. "So far the count of survivors is a few hundred, but as we don't have enough free cabins for that many personnel, we'll have to convert the secondary shuttle maintenance bay over into civilian berthing." There was a general murmur of understanding that passed between the personnel in the compartment. "So far we will need to consider security and basic services. The small head in that compartment will be insufficient for the sanitary needs of that meant personnel, so the first order of business will be to coordinate the installation of at least 20 sanitary heads for general use, 10-for each gender. in addition, we'll need one of the portable disaster replicators brought out of storage and set up for use by the personnel berthing there." "Erica," Deynyk continued, looking at one of the assembled operations officers, "I need you to spearhead the sanitation and replication portion of the refit. I need them up and operational as soon as possible. I will need you to coordinate with Jacobs in engineering. We have to assume for the time being the worst case scenario." "Understood sir." Erica replied. "The next need is going to be for berthing. Everyone will need a place to sleep and some degree of privacy. With that in mind, Carlo, I want you to work up a floor plan to accommodate as many people as possible in six-person billets, three double bunks, footlockers for personal storage, and a personal data/entertainment cube for each billeting. Bored people make poor house guests. Plan ahead and assume that we will be doubling the number of refugees within the next week or so." Deynyk concluded before moving to the next stage of the plan. "Aye sir" "Once you have that information set up, we'll need to set up a small medical facility in the billeting area. Nothing too fancy, four beds, scanning equipment and the like; a couple of observation rooms perhaps. The purpose is to treat all none critical medical needs without the need to traipse the refugees through the ship proper. S'van that task will fall to you. Coordinate with medical for staffing, minimal equipment needs and supplies. We may also need to establish a daycare for displaced children whose parents did not make it, or who have not yet been rescued." "Understood, sir." S'van replied. "Privacy. That's going to be the hardest part of this whole endeavor. " Deynyk commented next. "We will need to construct basic poly plastic structures around each of the berthings. They will need closeable access ports, and walls. Let's forgo roofing them, unless we need to add a level to the berthings. Each unit will need to be easy to assemble, stable and resilient to abuse. They will also need to be labeled in some logical manner to allow us to assign them to sections." He looked around the room. "Nogal, that task falls to you." "Aye sir." "Those of you assigned to refugee services are relieved of bridge shift duty. Those not assigned will be required to pick up additional duty hours as needed until this crisis passes. Any problems of any sort, report them to me immediately and I'll handle them. Any questions?" Several heads swayed side to side, indicating no inquiries. "Alright then, you're all dismissed." (Posted by Daniel Greene) (USS Boudicca - Bridge - ATAC Lt Ryko Skylynx - 2005) ...After that was when it got very dark. Ryko had no idea if he and / or Drew had done the damage that had killed the Beast. All he knew was that some crazed mist of red had taken hold of him and the next thing he knew, he was inside the Trojan, docking with the Boudicca, cleared through quarantine control, and cleared for duty. Moments later, he was in a fresh uniform. And now he was on the bridge, back at the Tactical station, hands enveloped by the holographic display controls and his mind wandering to Drew's condition, Trei's condition and whereabouts, and a sudden desire for a very stiff drink. OPS signalled an incoming comm message. Ryko ignored it for a moment, instead deciding to solve one of his quandries as he read up on status updates from the ... individuals that were coming on board. =/\=Skylynx to Trei,=/\= he said clearly, but discretely so as not to intrude on the Captain, who looked just as dischevelled as he was. (Posted by Adam) (USS Boudicca - Main Engineering - CEO's Office - CEO Lieutenant Henry Jacobs - 2008) Henry sat in his chair staring at several stacks of report padds sitting on the desk in front of him. He knew exactly what they were. The padds contained several detailed reports on the multiple power failures that occured on the ship while in orbit of Color II. From what he had been hearing it was nothing short of several miracles that the ship did not rip itself apart or implode. Not to mention the hard work and dedication of the Boudicca crew, there were too many issues that happened to the ship and Henry felt very bothered by what he may read. He reluctantly picked up the closest padd to him and sighed as he opened the report. The report started off with a list of science and operations officers that were lost in an incident that occurred in Cargo Bay 2. The following information described how the cargo bay doors unexplainably opened and emergencies force fields disengaged while the officers where within. There also seemed to a loss of the ship's inertial dampeners which coupled with the bay decompression evacuated everything and everyone not bolted down into space. Active sensors recorded the entire event however, this was something Henry did not wish to see. Henry kept reading the report. And he read it to the end. He threw the padd back onto the desk and stood from his chair while putting both hands up in the air and resting them on his head. He was not looking forward to reading the rest of the reports if the information would be as gruesome as the one he just read. Jacobs had grown to care for his fellow ship mates so hearing anything other than good things about them was never a good thing. After watching what the beast and zombies did down on the planet to all the innocent people Henry had never felt more needed, because he felt like he had not done enough down on the surface. He walked out into the main floor of the engineering room and tried his best to offer assistance to anyone who may have needed it. Henry knew very well that there would be no one that would need his assistance. He was proud of how efficient his engineers were and knew that very little supervision was needed when it came to work being done. He also wanted to make sure he was never like the supervisor he never wanted to be. He did not want anyone to ever think that he didn't trust them enough to handle what they had been assigned without supervision. Jacobs experienced it before and vowed never to become that person. So it remained that there was no one that needed his immediate attention and he was fine with that. The dark information he had previously read was still lingering in his head until he looked up to see a new face to the engineering department. After a double take his demeanor actually changed after he realized who he was actually looking at. From the pins on his uniform Jacobs realized the ensign was his new ACEO. Henry walked over to the new ensign, already deciding what he would assign to him during the next departmental meeting. "Ensign Mactavish, welcome onboard" Jacobs exteneded his hand as he spoke. (reply Mactavish) "We will have a departmental briefing soon, and I would appreciate your presence there. I know we received you here mid-misison, but I promise I will caught up to date." (reply Mactavish) Jacobs left the ensign to finish what he was doing and walked back to his office waiting to see when his other ACEO Getman would grace him with his presence. Then, feeling as though the danger of the Beast's influence had passed, she felt it was her duty to begin to repair the situation she'd made in the Core. Tending to this part of the ship was her de facto responsibility when she was not directly addressing the Captain's needs. She considered it more her Quarters than her own (small) stateroom. Megg joked, usually privately, that she should hang a cot here. Cleaning up the slime of the ripped-apart bioneural gelpacks was easy enough. Replacing the ones she had eaten -- also relatively effortless. But there was a nagging feeling that the yeoman could still 'hear' the gelpacks that had gotten infected with her version of the Beast's virus. 'Zombie gelpacks' had been a thought Megg tried to keep from the Beast's mind. In the end, though, she'd done it herself. She wasn't sure how many were now 'sick'. She wasn't entirely sure she wanted them 'cured' either. And her version of the infection differed from the Beast's own. Since she hadn't been directly exposed, her metamorphic capabilities had made up her best guess. Megg tapped her communicator. "Cap, I think we're not out of the tulgey woods yet..." she said, still thinking a little bit about Wonderland. As she waited for a response, she remembered the recently incident on the shuttle. ~Would it have hurt anything to hug him back? No one else was there! No one else would have seen anything!~ Megg had been (and still was) worried about what others would make of any overt romance between herself and her superior officer. (posted by Frank) (USS Boudicca - Bridge - CO Captain Calvin Capps - 2018) Without warning a call came through for the Commanding Officer, "Cap, I think we're not out of the tulgey woods yet..." she said. "Can you be a little more specific Megg..." Calvin stopped abruptly and switched his words to the more professional address, "Ensign Puceanu?" (posted by Calvin Capps) (USS Boudicca – Computer Core – Yeoman Meggan Puceanu - 2021) "Can you be a little more specific Megg...", the CO said in response to Meggan’s ‘tulgey wood’ comment. He amended his form of address from the familiar to just ‘Ensign Puceanu?’ Meggan frowned. She’d lost the Jabberwock and apparently her chance with her friend too — on the same day. The Beast she was glad to be rid of, but Cap2 would be harder to get over. But hadn’t the first Captain of the U.S.S. Titan been married to his Chief Diplomatic Officer/Ship’s Counselor, and that was back in 2379. ~Or maybe I’m just conflicted, and this is transference? I can’t be that busted up over ‘losing’ the Beast, can I?~ the yeoman thought. ~I’m going to need to sit down with OUR ship’s counselor soon, I think…~ Captain Calvin Capps was waiting for an answer. “Cap2,” she said, using her informal nickname for him, “I think I may have done more damage down here than I initially thought. The gelpacks I ate or ripped open I replaced easily enough. But I think that some of the rest of them are actually infected. When I was … um … under the Beast’s control, I think I produced some version of Its virus. And I’m not exactly sure of this part, but I think I can hear them thinking at me. The gelpacks, I mean.” (posted by Frank) (USS Boudicca - Bridge - CO Captain Calvin Capps - 2022) “Cap2,” she said, using her informal nickname for him, “I think I may have done more damage down here than I initially thought. "Very well, Meggan" Calvin used her first name. "I will contact engineering to get them on the issue. In the mean time I want you to go back to sickbay. I will meet you there shortly." (reply Puceanu) (Posted by Calvin Capps) (USS Boudicca – Computer Core – Yeoman Puceanu - 2023) =^=Very well, Meggan,=^= Calvin said, acknowledging the report about the infection of the gelpacks, =^=I will contact Engineering to get them on the issue. In the mean time I want you to go back to sickbay. I will meet you there shortly.=^= “On my way, Cap,” she said, then left the comp-core headed for Sickbay. (Posted by Frank Truelove) (USS Boudicca - Sickbay - asst cmo tian noble - 2024) Tian look up from his work when the sickbay doors open. With a warm smile the young doctor said “Hello” Tian grab a medical tricorder and made his way to meet Meggan. Tian gestured for her to sit on the biobed. “What is it that brings you to sickbay” Tian said . Reply Puceanu “Tian pick up the hyper spry gave Meggan a dose of median. “I like you to stay here for a while just so I can do a few more test ” Tian spoke with a easy going tone. Again the sickbay doors open this time it was the Captain. Tian gave him a glace then return to his work station. (Replay any in sickbay, none) (Posted by Richard Tomlin) (USS Boudicca - Bridge - CO Captain Calvin Capps - 2025) After speaking with Ensign Puceanu he tapped his combadge. "Captain Capps to Engineering." (reply Engineering) "I need a complete work up on all gel packs. There is probable reasoning that some have been infected. Begin at the computer core." (reply Engineering) (Posted by Calvin Capps) (USS Boudicca - Sickbay – Asst CMO Tian Noble - 2027) Tian listen to megg while he finished his scans. “Wow” was the only thing Tian could say. (Posted by Richard Tomlin) (USS Boudicca - Main Engineering - CEO Lieutenant Henry Jacobs - 2029) Jacobs and Mactavish were chatting about possible positive changes that could be made to the engineering duty roster since things were finally calming down when the Captain called in with a request. =^=Captain Capps to Engineering.=^= "Jacobs here sir," he responded, breaking the conversation with Mactavish. =^=I need a complete work up on all gel packs. There is probable reasoning that some have been infected. Begin at the computer core.=^= "Consider it done, I needed to give Ensign Mactavish a tour anyway." Jacobs tapped his commbadge to close the comm and then looked in Mactavish's direction. "Lets head to the computer core. If we start there we should hopefully find the source of what the Captain is concerned about." (reply Mactavish) He motioned the Ensign to follow him to the turbolift and he did follow him in tow. Both men walked into the lift and the doors closed behind them. "Deck 11," Jacobs called out. The lift moved at its normal past and because it they were only a couple of decks away the doors quickly opened again. "After you," said Jacobs. (reply Mactavish) (posted by Darryl McDaniel) (USS Boudicca - Sickbay - CO Captain Calvin Capps - 2040) Calvin walked into sickbay with one intent. He looked around for Meggan and when he spotted her he instantly walked in her direction. Reaching her he simply asked the only question he could think of, "How are you?" His voice was soft and clearly concerned. (reply Puceanu, Engineering) (posted by Calvin Capps) (USS Boudicca - Sickbay - Yeoman Puceanu - 2042) Meggan had been in the infirmary for nearly twenty minutes when Cal arrived. "How are you?" he said, more as her friend than CO. That brought a smile to her face. “How am I? Well, for the most part good … I think. I’m pretty sure that I’ll be able to recover fully from being turned into a lizard. The Counselor and doctors can help me get over all that. Even the part that I feel like the Beast and I were sort of the same even before we arrived. That Thing told me that it was part of this world’s natural historical cycle. That It lies dormant for centuries, wakes up, eats the planet, then goes back to bed. But I don’t buy that. That just can’t be anything natural. So, I think it was invented — in a lab — probably by some scientists not getting quite enough air… Like me. Like I was. I can understand if It had a great sense of loneliness, and no sense of purpose except the one created for it. Before I met you, before I entered Starfleet … that was me. I got over that. I’ll get over … It.” (Reply Cal, any MED present) “All that being said, I can’t help but feel that curing the core is entirely good. Imagine what a sentient core would be able to achieve!” Megg mused, speaking very animatedly. “We’d have to be careful that that wasn’t something the Creature wanted, but I think it would be an advantage. I may still be biased toward the Creature’s plans, though. I’d have to admit to maybe not seeing this clearly. What do you think?” (Reply Cal) (Posted by Frank Truelove) (USS Boudicca - Sickbay - CO Captain Calvin Capps - 2043) “How am I? Well, for the most part good … I think. That is what matters." “All that being said, I can’t help but feel that curing the core is entirely good. What I want for you to do is forget about it and rest. Would you like for me to take you to your room, if that is ok with Dr. Noble that is?" The Captain looked once again at Tian. This time waiting for an answer. (reply Meggan, Noble) (posted by Calvin Capps) (USS Boudicca - Sickbay – Asst CMO tian Noble - 2044) Tian was looking over the data from the scan he had just ran. “If that is ok with Dr. Noble “ said the captain. Tian head Jerk up at his name the captain was now looking at Tian. “Capps repeated himself is it okay if I take her to her quarters?” “Yes sure, rest would be best” Tian said “Megg is there anything you need just let me know.” Tian said as the two of them left sickbay.
