Sitting in the dark, contemplating the ritual I was about to face and thinking of the time that we first met=/\= said the Bajoran female upon the monitor screen. T'Vhor nodded, his hands clasped before him upon the table as he contemplated that meeting. He had been 18 at the time, a young Ensign facing a new career with all the ramifications and, dare he say it, 'excitement' that such a start had instilled within him. An emotion. In a Vulcan. Unthinkable. Of course, the Captain of the Spectre was only half Vulcan, so in that sense he could allow for the occasional emotion whenever it might happen to surface. It was a pain at times but, a necessary pain and an undeniable part of just who he was. "Indeed", he said. "I remember it well. You tripped and fell backwards into a Rose bush when I remarked upon the intricacy of your ear jewellery if I recall" The Woman on the screen laughed at the very mention of it, her smile as infectious as it ever was, if the Vulcan hybrid CO would ever admit it that was. =/\=I was pulling thorns outta my butt for two whole days and have hated Roses ever since=/\=, she added, her smile relaxing then into a heavy sigh as she contemplated the memory further. "Fond times", said T'Vhor, pausing then to correct any assumptions to his remark. "I mean, the memory, not the fact that it was painful to yourself of course" The Woman laughed again... =/\=So, when do you next get some decent leave. I'd like to meet up again if that's possible=/\= she added. "Not for a month or so", answered T'Vhor. The Spectre is currently docked for resupply for a few more weeks at Starbase 12. There are some... 'Issues' here which also need to be resolved. But, if you find yourself nearby any time soon?", he added, reaching for the glass of pure Orange juice upon his table and then taking a sip. =/\=Possible. I'll let ya know my little twinpoint=/\= came the reply. T'Vhor raised an eyebrow at that. Twinpoint. It had been a term of affection that she'd used from the outset of their relationship. It made him smile, clearly appealing to his Betazoid half and it made him relax to hear it again, which in turn reminded him that sometimes you just had to dispense with the Captain's hat and go with your feelings. Even if one side of you was a stoic and emotionally immovable Vulcan. It was then though that the chime to his ready room sounded. The expected arrival of his new First Officer no doubt... "I have to go Leah", he interjected. "I have to greet my new FO" The Woman on the screen shrugged her shoulders and then nodded understandably. =/\=Such fun being a Starfleet Captain uh?=/\= "Indeed", said T'Vhor. "We will meet soon. I promise you. Until then though. You take care" Leah flicked her hair out of her eyes and then shifted backwards in her chair. Then she blew him a kiss, knowing as she did so that he likely still would not quite get the gesture of 'blowing' kisses out of the palms of hands. =/\=Later Twinpoint. Don't be too hard on that new FO, ya hear=/\= T'Vhor nodded and the communication closed down. "Enter", he called, the door to the room sliding aside with its usual pneumatic hiss as it did so in order to allow the somewhat statuesque Verin to enter and approach the opposite side of his desk. "Lt. Cmdr. Sophie Verin reporting in, Sir." she said, coming to attention as she spoke. The Captain motioned for the new officer to sit and bade her 'at ease'. And then he pulled up her file on the screen before him for the second time that day, reading through her operational and familial record with interest. An interesting point of note had struck him the first time around, that being Verin's daughter, a half Vulcan, half Betazoid hybrid such as himself. He had contemplated and made note of it, wondering if the child might be experiencing similar difficulties to those of himself. For the moment though his new FO's operational record was at the forefront of his mind as he turned from the monitor screen and then settled back into his chair. "Lieutenant Commander", he began, quirking his head slightly as he spoke in order to ease a slight tension that had been building in his neck. "I trust that you your journey to us went without any appreciable difficulties, and that you have appraised yourself of our current status and previous mission?" NRPG: Room to build here... RPG: (Reply Verin) (Posted by Alan) (USS Spectre - Captain's Ready Room – FO, Lt. Cmdr. Sophie Verin – 11:22) "Lt. Cmdr. Sophie Verin reporting in, Sir." she said, coming to attention as she spoke. Sophie took the offered seat and crossed her legs. She watched the Captain through half lidded eyes as he reviewed something, most likely about her on his screen. She was too well trained of a telepath and had excellent manners to snoop in the Captain's brain to see what he was thinking. How he felt to her on the other hand, was more Vulcan than Betazoid on her first impression. The opposite of her beloved Skylar, who was Betazoid in temperament but more Vulcan in appearance. "Lieutenant Commander", he began, quirking his head slightly, "I trust that you your journey to us went without any appreciable difficulties, and that you have appraised yourself of our current status and previous mission?" Sophie sat up a little straighter and reigned her thoughts in, regarding the Captain with interest, "The travel was satisfactory, I have been updated on what the Spectre is doing here at the Starbase for refit, personnel transfer and shore leave. I have not however been updated on the previous mission, Sir." She sat, straight up in the chair, her back not quite touching it as she watched him. She had served as a first officer in the past but it was under a different commander on a much smaller ship. She knew that she had been sent to the Spectre to be, as the Admiral had said, 'Trained up right'. And she was very curious about what the differences were between the two ships. She was not shielding her curiosity however and she knew that the Captain's empathy would be able to pick up on it easily. (Reply Captain) (posted by Mel :-) (USS Spectre – First Officer's Office – Engineer James Andrew "Duke" Williams II – 12:30) It was always awkward being transferred to a new ship, but James Williams II was always eager for the challenge. He understood the nature of the transfer game. As the son of a Starfleet officer he spent the first 14 years of his life bouncing around from duty station to duty station with his parents. Perhaps that is why he always came prepared to make new friends on board easily. He called it the Duke method, one part baking cookies for the crew, one part a well stocked liquor cabinet, one part home brewed beer, and one part a loud, gregarious, extroverted personality, and you had a recipe for instant friends. His extroversion suited him well, but it always seemed at odds with his fellow engineers, many of whom tended to be more introverted and quiet. He half assumed that the reason he was being transferred is that he just was to outgoing for the rest of the senior staff aboard the USS Kyoto. Still Duke, as he was called ever since high school, was just happy to finally make it to the Spectre. He wasn't entirely sure how he got the nickname Duke, but he liked it. It helped distance himself a little bit from his father, Vice Admiral James Andrew Williams, a decorated starfleet officer who made it all the way to being the First Officer of Starfleet Academy. Being Duke gave him his own identity, and he viewed engineering as his own little Duchy. He was different than most kids of Admirals. He felt no pressure of gaining command, and had no desire of it. He was aware of it, so was his dad. His dad was ok with it as well. Duke liked being an engineer, command meant he didn't get to do that anymore. His goal was to become a Captain of Engineering, like Montgomery Scott, and design and test Starships. After spending the morning settling in he had decided to report to the First Officer who had arrived early. Lt. Commander Sophie Verin. The name sounded familiar to him, but he wasn't sure why. Still though, the sooner he reported in, the sooner he eventually could get to work. After being buzzed in he entered the office. "Commander," He Said, "Engineer James Andrew Williams the second reporting for duty." (Reply Verin) "It's good that you are here a day early commander." (reply Verin) "Umm before I get to business, may I enquire your favorite kind of cookie?" (reply Verin) (Reply Verin) (posted by Will Banowsky) (USS Spectre – First Officer's Office – Lt. Cmdr Sophie Verin – 12:33) Sophie had made it out of the meeting with the Captain relatively unscathed and counted herself lucky. She had not even begun to unpack her box of belongings that was sitting at her feet. The Betazoid was bent over to begin to do so as the buzzer sounded on her door. She stood up with a long, almost feline stretch and called out in her best Commander voice, "Enter!" "Commander," The gentleman spoke crisply, "Engineer James Andrew Williams the second reporting for duty." Sophie found him interesting, but she did not quite know who he was. The name sounded so familiar to her however. She indicated the chair across from her for him to take a seat. With a quick double tap on her padd, she pulled up his orders, "Ah. You are our new chief Engineer. I'm glad that you are here, Sir." She spoke politely. "It's good that you are here a day early commander." He had replied to her. She was glad she got here early as well. "The Vagaries of space travel I guess. We made excellent time on the last leg of the travel. I however have just managed to get in myself and I am not quite up to speed yet on the refitting chaos." "Umm before I get to business, may I inquire your favorite kind of cookie?" Sophie nearly laughed at the gregarious personality that was sitting across from her. He felt fun to her, full of energy, a true extrovert. And he was certainly handsome enough. But why cookies she wondered to herself. She decided to be honest, "Well, I am a Betazoid and we are near famous of our love of anything chocolate. Too bad chocolate can't be cultivated ON Betazed. I would probably own a cocoa farm if they could grow on Betazed rather than sailing the stars. So the long answer is that Chocolate with chocolate chunks are my favorite, but my daughter Skylar loves what are called 'turtle' cookies." Sophie grinned, "Why do you ask Mr. Williams?" (reply Williams) (posted by Mel) (USS Spectre – First Officer's Office – CEO Duke Williams – 12:34) "Well, I am a Betazoid and we are near famous of our love of anything chocolate. So the long answer is that Chocolate with chocolate chunks are my favorite, but my daughter Skylar loves what are called 'turtle' cookies." Sophie grinned, "Why do you ask Mr. Williams?" "Well, I had a superior officer back in the day, the Chief Engineer of the Pioneer, first duty station. He told me that the best thing to do when you get to a new station is to find some way to get to know the crew. I have found that distributing cookies to new crewmates to be the most effective way to strike up first conversations with new crew mates and to me memorable. My first week on the Kyoto my nickname had become, Cookie Monster. Which is all fine and dandy, but I already have a nickname that I prefer to go by." (reply Verin) "Duke. Don't remember how I got it, but I like it better than James at this point. Besides some of the best engineers are remembered by nicknames. Ask anyone about Captain of Engineering Scott, not everyone will know who that is. Ask people about Scotty, 8 out of 10 will be able to identify the famous enterprise engineer." (reply Verin) "So you said you like chocolate, what are your thoughts on hazelnut?" (reply Verin) "See, I am famous for what I call my sin cookie. Because it is so good it is sinful. See it is a normal sugar cookie, but it is filled with a hazelnut spread. Then it is topped with melted chocolate chips, and sprinkled with pecan chips. Very rich, but very good. Also called I'm sorry cookies. Got me out of the dog house many a time with my exes." (Reply Verin) "Tell you what, how bout I make a batch for you and your daughter and bring it by sometime after you are settled it." (Reply Verin) "How old is she like 3, 4?" There were some that did not believe his version of events, that much was obvious. But then with what had been happening over the past few days regarding Madon and her parasitic friends, with the added nuisance of Ferengi Pirates stealing his ship, it was expected. The sound of his combadge going off though drew his attention aside. =/\=Williams to T’Vhor.=/\= "Go ahead Commander", answered the Captain. =/\=Sir we have been requested by the station to assist in a mass casualty situation from Disney cruise starliner Snow White. I would like to activate the mass casualty protocol for the ship, bring the first responders with me and tie the sickbay into the starbase’s casualty chain?=/\= A mass casualty? Could this be something to do with Madon again, wondered the Captain... "Of course", said the Captain. "Use whatever facilities you require. And please, keep me appraised of the situation. Captain out" =/\=Yes Sir=/\= said the CMO, as the turbolift doors opened onto deck 6 of the station and the Captain walked out... (Reply None) (Posted by Alan) (Disney Starliner Snow White - Corridor – Counselor Elani Caras - 13:43) Elani had a bad feeling. She had heard over the secure comm unit that many of the teams were being picked off by the various pirates still on the ship. That worried the young Betazoid as her team worked their way down one of the cabin corridors. She was using her empathy in order to locate survivors. She had already located two that had been missed and were trapped. And she was very thankful for the operations and engineering officers with them. But something was really bothering her. Then the emotions of the Betazoid she didn't know dying ripped through her. She basically fell against Rivers, and the man thankfully caught her. "Thanks." Elani spoke softly, "I appreciate you catching me. One of the teams has just been eliminated and there was a Betazoid on that team." The security that was with her team was already bristling, maybe they sensed that whatever was about to happen was going to be pretty bad too. The Klingon security officer stood straighter and pointed his phaser down the hallway as something caught his attention and he barked, "DOWN!" Elani dived down, rolling into an open cabin door, getting under cover. She wasn't even aware of how she did that, perhaps one of those self defense classes that the marines kept making the non combatants take aboard the ship. She was thankful for it however as she cowered behind the door, frightened. The Klingon was shooting his phaser rifle down the hallway. "Girl use that phaser on your belt and get up and help!" Someone shouted at her. She couldn't, however. Her hands were shaking too badly. Her mind wasn't here either, it was with the dying and injured as their pain overwhelmed her shields at the worst possible time. Elani hit her comm badge, "This is Counselor Caras. My SAR team is taking heavy fire on corridor 6J, Passenger Deck 19." It was then that Elani's gaze was drawn to a pair of frightened golden eyes, a Caitian child with a mane of sunshine gold fur was cowering too, behind an armoire that had fallen. Elani belly crawled over to the child, putting her body in front of the Caitians. "It's all right." Elani spoke softly. "It will be ok..." (Reply Sorenson, Rivers, any) (posted by Mel Gatling) (Snow White – Corridor – Medical Researcher Michaella Kirien-Mias - 13:44) “Michaella what’s the matter?” Andrew asked her softly as she was bent over a child, preparing a sedative so that the plasma burns and crushed leg could be treated. The name had been what startled her, it was someone she knew from her past. What was she doing here? Then the pain lanced through her, and Michaella actually stumbled. "That was Alesia. She was a marine medic on the Mystique. And I think she just died." Michaella's dark eyes reflected the pain that had broke through the shielding that Riven was reinforcing on her. "She was a Betazoid. One of Riven's past patients. Dammit, what the hell is going on here, Andrew? None of this makes any sense. I wish it did. What the hell are these pirates or whoever they are after? They have to be after something to still be here." Michaella shook her long dark hair and leaned back down to the young child, about six years old. She nodded to one of the orderlies, "This one is stable, have her transported to sickbay, that leg needs surgery to realign those shards before the leg dies." Michaella turned to the next child, this one awake. "Hi sweetie, I'm Michaella. Do you like lollipops?" The andorian child nodded and Michaella quickly extracted one from her coat pocket and gave it to the child. "Can you tell me where it hurts?" The child nodded and touched her belly. "All right, lets take a look at that belly and see if we can't make it feel a little better." She consulted her tricorder and sure enough there was internal bleeding in her belly. "This won't hurt sweetness." Michaella loaded the necessary medications into her hypospray and quickly sedated the child, adding pain medication as well as coagulants to the mix. "Orderly she's stable as well." Michaella quickly made notes in her padd about the child and laid it atop the stretcher. Andrew was speaking to her now that there was a lull and Michaella turned tiredly towards him. It had only been about a half an hour but it had felt like an eternity. (reply Williams) (posted by Mel) (Snow White – Corridor – Security Officer – Lieutenant (J.G.) Jo Smith - 13:45) Jo moved into the corridor where Team alpha 4 had given their final signal. Her and the others had moved as fast as they could through the ship making sure that there was no lurking teams of pirates or booby traps along then way. They had arrived without incident which she was relieved by but the lack of any more reports or siting of pirates was beginning it trouble her. She scanned the corridor and found nothing moving. She moved forward to the far end passed the bodies of team alpha 4. “Jennifer, Kenneth check the bodies. Robert where are the pirates?” She scanned the corridor as the others went to work. “Jo we have one alive but she’s going fast.” Jennifer spoke quickly to her. ~Okay~ “Get transporter tags on all of them I am calling this in.” ~Anderson is going to be apoplectic when we all get back~ She pushed that thought out of her mind as she activated her helmets comm system. “Infirmary this is… Jarhead One.” ~Could have chosen worse~ “…I have Team Alpha 4 we have three dead and critical. They have been transport tagged. They need immediate transport to infirmary.” (Reply Infirmary) Jo watched as Alpha 4 dematerialised and then looked over at Robert. “Where are they.” There was a pause as Robert looked at the information before looking at Jo. “I can tell you where they are not and they are not here.” Jo frowned. “Where are they?” “From what I can tell the team that attacked Alpha 4 went from here to this maintenance access port which leads straight to the station.” Jo stood up and looked at Robert. “Why here what do they get for leaving the ship here?” She watched as Roberts hand danced over his wrist monitor before it paused. “Getting onto the station here does not give them much. They need to get off as the station is too big and they need as ship. The ones on the docking births either side this one care cargo freighters and not very fast ones. There is a Galaxy and an Excelsior class on this side of the station apart from the Spectre there is nothing fast enough.” She felt the blood run cold “The Spectre. Ow you have got to be kidding me.” She looked at the others as realisation dawned on all of them before moving towards the maintenance access port at a run. “Spectre this Jo Smith we believe that the Pirates are about to board the Spectre.” (Reply any one on the Spectre) (Reply any one on the Spectre, any) (Posted by Robbie) (Star base - Infirmary - Commander Jay - 13:47) Jay had been ten minutes away from seeing her new ship when the call had come in. She was a qualified surgeon first before being a ship’s captain so she had turned around and headed for the Infirmary. She looked over at the older Bataziod gentleman who had been helping her with the seemingly unending flow of casualties that were being admitted to the stations infirmary. “How are you doing? I think we may have a few moments before the next influx. Can I get you anything from the replicator?” (Reply Riven) “Infirmary this is… Jarhead One. Something was going to happen. She glanced over at the Captain who was on the Bridge as well, but seemed to be letting her handle the situation. =^=Spectre this Jo Smith we believe that the Pirates are about to board the Spectre.=^= Sophie frowned then looked back at the Captain, touching her comm badge. "Spectre acknowledges." She hit her comm badge again, "Marines and Security, possible boarding attempt. Initiate a deck by deck search. All crew be on alert." A fissure of fear went through Sophie at the thought of her daughter being on board when there were pirates invading the place that she thought her daughter was safest. "Computer, secure First Officers's quarters on authorization Verin Omega4183. Only allow access to verified senior staff." That was the best that she could do to protect her daughter. She nodded as the Ensign at CONN had opened the locker and was handing out phasers to the bridge crew. She accepted hers with a nod. She didn't know the entire Spectre crew on sight and would not for several months. =^= Darpeg to Spectre. I have found evidence that the pirates are boarding the ship through the unbillical inspection tunnel and onto Deck Twelve.=^= ~Oh, Seriously?~ She thought in anger. ~Why us? Did I bring ill luck to the ship?~ She thought for a moment, then tapped her comm badge again. "Mr. Kowalski, I need you to assign one of your teams to the bridge since we have a suspected boarding situation." Sophie tapped her badge again, "Mr. Darpeg, the Spectre acknowledges and we are taking appropriate measures. Get back aboard this ship as soon as possible and report to "Mr. Kerge for further orders." Her tone was firm, her words clear and concise and did not betray any of the panic she felt. He glanced up at the orderly who had arrived with a gurney. He looked at the kids and the back to the woman and shook his head ever so slightly. The orderly looked from the children, back to him and nodded. “Okay let’s get her to sickbay.” The orderly nodded as he and Andrew gently transferred the woman onto the gurney. He watched as the orderly moved towards the station. He also saw the other gurney’s follow the first one. He paused for a moment and looked over at Kirien who looked exhausted. He stepped over to her and pulled open his med kit and pulled out a small bottle of water. “Michaella. His sky blue robe however was dotted in a number of places with blood, much of it fresh with red and purple being the most predominant. Riven was NOT a medical doctor and never proclaimed to be so but had found over many missions with Star Fleet that his being a soothing presence often was a valuable tool for the medical personnel aboard and that included Michaella who was happy to have him lend a helping hand though she was not now present. “How are you doing? I think we may have a few moments before the next influx. Can I get you anything from the replicator?” Riven turned to see Commander Jay zeroing in on his location and gave her a wan smile as he nodded his head slightly which sent the charms in his hair tinkling merrily. "Betazoid berry tea please and thank you ever so much." He replied beaming or would have if his current tired state had not toned down the brightness ever so slightly. “Looks like I spoke too soon.” And just that quickly his hopes for refreshment had been dashed. His mind was elsewhere as the commander spoke on the comm for a moment but he got the gist, fresh casualties were incoming. ~ Oh joy Riven. But this was you decided to forego further work in the temple for wasn't it? Because you knew that it was either the slow decline into retirement or going out into space where you could be useful. No more being shuffled aside to make room for the up and coming under pretense of making your duties easier. No. Pain and suffering aplenty into which you could pour a lifetime of experience and tenderness and in so doing making the lives of people happier and ease their suffering.~ It was what he wanted to do... No it was what he had been BORN to do. “Looks like we are going to be here for a while.” "I would say you are right." He turned up the brightness of his smile back to maximum level and saw her mien brighten up in reaction."How about we change the offer to ME getting something for you while you get ready for a fresh influx." {Reply: Jay} "It's no bother." He chuckled and moved off toward the replicator, his sandals making soft, whispering noises as he moved and the silver chimes in his hair and braided into the sandals sent out soothing tones into the environment. They accede a Jefferies tube and began to climb fast knowing that Caras did not have long. They hit the deck at a run covering the distance as fast as she could. Her body was starting to complain about the level of exertion but she just pushed it to the back of her mind as they came around the corner. She heard screams and phaser shots as they approached. She glanced at the others who nodded. She pulled her phaser rifle to her shoulder and stepped into the corridor she saw a group of people in ships clothing firing down the corridor she saw a Klingon in Starfleet uniform shooting back. He was wearing the vest uniform variant that was normally worn by commanding officers. Though it was uncommon for department heads to wear the variant, it was permissible according to Starfleet Uniform Code. The main reason he did so was because it allowed him a bit better range of arm movement when working down in engineering as he wasn't limited by wearing the uniform jacket over the long sleeve shirt required by uniform regulations. It also made it easier for him to roll up his sleeves when he need to. He made sure his sleeves were not rolled up while entering the bridge, as he was trying to have some modicum of professionalism. By some modicum, it meant he didn't want to walk on to the bridge with rolled up sleeves and a a box of chocolate chip cookies he had baked that morning. As he overheard the conversation, he was struck by something. Walking over to the first officer he had a bit of swagger in his step, like an epiphany, as if in that very moment, lightning had struck his brain. He approached the two command officers with a twinkle in his eye and a smile on his face that seemed customary in eccentric engineers when the thought they had a good idea. "Commander," he said tapping the FO on the shoulder. "Food for thought, and by that I mean, strategy not the cookies I have in my hands, those can wait." (reply Verin) "So we have invaders coming up through the umbilical connection to the ship right. It's like, why don't people do this more often. Not the invading, part, the other thing, my idea. Oops, I'm getting ahead of myself." (reply Verin) "Transporters!" he shouted excitedly. (reply Verin) "Sorry got excited, this is why Dad thinks it is a good idea, I'm not command track. Get a bit over excited, even in a crisis. Anyways, we have ship wide site to site transport functions. Granted, it is mainly used in an emergency capacity, like needing to get someone to sickbay. Yet why not use them against intruders." (reply Verin) "I mean we could transport them to the brig, but they'd still have their weapons. Any halfway decent combat engineer could figure out how to rig a phaser to take out a forcefield. May take out one of their own, but they're pirates so they'd try it. So that is out. But, and sometimes you have to think outside the box, why not think like a pirate." (reply Verin iyw) "Pirates set traps all the time right. We can set one of our own. We have a security team waiting for them on Deck 12 to confront them from the front. We transport in a marine detail into the umbilical, behind the location of the pirates, rather quick like. Then all of a sudden, you have the pirates surrounded, right, marines behind them, security in front. Sure we are looking at a fire fight, casualties could be high...that's bad, casualties aren't good. But we have them trapped between a rock and a hard place, hopefully forcing a surrender....or an alright slaughter." Will paused... "Did I say that out loud. Crap, yeah slaughter bad, but it is an idea." Obviously no pirates could covertly enter there. He looked around, and just around the corner, he found that the hatch for the unbillical inspection tunnel was open. That would be a tight fit, but possible. The other end connected to Deck Twelve for deuterium storage. Also the Battle Bridge and Life support. He took out his tricorder and scanned the interior of the claustrophobic space. Traces of DNA from several different individuals, and recent, too. Tapping his commbadge, he said, "Darpeg to Spectre. I have found evidence that the pirates are boarding the ship through the unbillical inspection tunnel and onto Deck Twelve." Jay smiled and nodded. “That would be great. Something hot would be lovely if it is not a problem.” "It's no bother." Jay paused for a moment as Riven moved away. It was one of the slight perverse moments in her life. She enjoyed mass casualty situations. She could challenge herself physically and mentally with whatever was presented to her and she enjoyed putting the broken and dying back together. For that the happen people needed to get hurt and badly hurt which she also bad about, so for her to enjoying her job people had to get injured. She shook herself as her age old dilemma was pushed from her mind as the transports whined and the security team appeared on four gurneys. She stepped forward taking control of the medical team that had arrived. “Okay what do we have?” A senior nurse who had been running the Infirmary’s triage looked up at her as she finished her initial assessment. “Four Casualties, three are dead and one needs surgery.” Jay nodded. “Okay I’ll take the surgery, are any of the operating theatres free?” “No the next one will be in 30 minutes.” Jay paused for a moment looking at the tricorder she had dug out of a medical pack and was scanning her patient. “Okay where is the over flow operating theatres?” She glanced down at the results, then at the patient to see if there was any visual difference in the readings. The patient was badly burnt along with severe internal injury from close range phaser blasts but she still had a pulse and was breathing which was always a start. She was juggling different options in her mind as she senior nurse spoke up. “The USS Spectre has the closest capacity but most of their medical team are on the station as first responders.” ~Spectre! Andrew~ “Not a problem at worst I’ll use the EMH. Tell them we are on the way with the patient.” She saw that Riven was returning with food and she gave him an appreciated smile. “I am sorry but I am going to have to run. I need to take this patient to the operating theatre. I know that you have your hands full here but you can come along if you like?” (Reply Riven) (Reply Riven, any) (Posted by Robbie) (USS Spectre – Docking Port – Assistant Tactical Chief, Ensign Garek Darpeg - 13:55) Darpeg had been ordered to report to Lieutenant Kerge aboard the ship. He left the umbillical inspection hatch and went to the main gangway hatch where the security guards were. He could tell from their posture that there was a heightened security alert. One scanned him for his DNA,and then cleared him through. He then went to where Kerge was waiting and said the formal Klingon greeting, "Q'apla Lieutenant Kerge of the house of j'hotal. I, Ensign Garek of the house of DarPeGh, await your orders." (reply Kerge) "Aye, Sir, I shall arm myself and head there immediately. Anything else, Sir?" The patient was on a bio-bed with a surgical frame moving into position. She saw a Orian woman in medical uniform step towards her. “Hallo my name is Douwsy I am the head nurse on the Spectre what can I do to help.” Jay smiled at her. “I am Jay thank you for letting us borrow your Operating Theatre…..” She saw Douwsy nodded as she moved to the opposite side of the bio-bed and began to activate the sensors and monitors that surrounded the patient. “….. we have a bataziod female with multiple phaser wounds covering most of her upper body and arms. She also has severe internal bleeding and damage due to some close-range blasts. I want to go inside first and treat her internal injures before dealing with the external damage.” She saw Douwsy nodded again as the sterilisation field activated. Jay looked over at the patient to make sure that she had not missed anything. ~Better get started~ She took a deep breath, paused and then started. “Okay lets get going. Scalpel please.” She took the laser scalpel from Douwsy and made her incision. He then noticed two base security officers coming up to him. "Ensign Darpeg?" asked one. "Yes chief." 'We came to inform you about what we found about Moody and Strakos. They're both clean. Strakos started on gamma shift in first class, but was transferred to Beta shift in third class a week ago. It was an honest mistake, and he followed procedure on his suspicions." The Second one handed him a padd and said, "These are your new orders. You are to return to the docking port and help provide perimeter security." Darpeg took the padd, and went back to the docking port, looking for any Spectre crewman. (posted by Gary) (reply anyone) =================================================================
