The station is involved in scientific experimentation.... what exactly is the nature of those experiments? I mean, is there radiation involved, bio-hazards perhaps?" Andrew nodded towards Yates. “There is not a lot on the database as to what they were working on. It appeared like a lot of the experiments were classified but what there was appears to be biological as well as complicated theoretical physics. There were also hints to changing things into weapons but there was nothing about what it was.” (Reply Any) (Posted by Robbie) (USS Spectre - Bridge - COUNS Ellie Caras - 11:11) Ellie nodded to the Captain's words. She followed him a few steps behind, picking up on the tone of his words that something was out of the ordinary. When the door wooshed shut behind them, she turned to await the Captain's indication, not daring to sit until he indicated that it was appropriate for her to do so. But she was a Betazoid, quick to change her mood and very quirky and curious. "Strange, Sir?" She inquired. "There was no information sent to the shuttle so I'm more than a little in the dark. Everyone seems a little tense to me, but not.. dangerous tense." She sat when the Captain told her to, and leaned slightly forward, her body language telling that she was inquisitive and curious, a listening pose. (reply Captain, any) (posted by mel) (USS Spectre - Captain's Ready Room - CO, Captain T'Vhor - 11:12) Upon arrival into his ready room, the Captain took his seat behind his desk and then looked to the Counsellor, who stood silently for a moment as though uncertain just what to do or say next. Then she continued... "Strange sir?", she asked, in regards his previous statement on the bridge. "There was no information sent to the shuttle so I'm more than a little in the dark.", she added, before then going on to mention the tension that she was currently feeling in this place, and that it was'nt a dangerous sort of tense but something else entirely. The Captain paused briefly and motioned for the Counsellor to take a seat which she duly did, he then offered her a drink from the glass jar that sat upon his desk. (Reply Caras) T'Vhor poured himself a drink and then settled back into his chair, regarding the Betazoid as he did so. Her previous comment had intrigued him, and the fact that she felt that way must logically be connected in some way to the bizarre situation that they had found in regards the station. After all, people did'nt just vanish into thin air.... as a rule anyway. "If not dangerous tense, then in what way tense?", inquired the Captain. (Reply Caras) (Posted by Alan) (USS Spectre - Bridge – Security Officer, Lieutenant JG Jo Smith - 11:13) Jo looked over at Robert who was on the ops console across from her as T’Vhor and Caras entered the captain’s ready room. She could see him look over at her in return and raised an eye brow. The look was not about the T’Vhor and Caras it was about the situation they were in as she looked at the deserted research station on the view screen. [Looks like a haunted house] Jo looked down at her console and read the message that she had gotten from Robert. [Yeh definatly not somewhere you would want to stay the night] [Definatly a film cliché] [Bit like Amityville Horror] Jo hid her grin. ~The film buff was coming out~ [Or House on Haunted Hill] [The Haunting] [The Exorcist] [The Shining] [Poltergeist] [Paranormal Activates] [Which one] [both obviously!] [It could be worse it could be the Thing] [Will you both stop it and behave like adults some of us are trying to work] A grin flashed across her face as Jennifer entered the conversation. She glanced up to see the back of Jennifer as she sat at the helm in front of her. [Yes little sis] [Anyway I think it’s like a Zombie movie like Day of the Living Dead or the Resident Evils] Jo suppressed a groan as she cut the connection and turned her attentions to her job. They had both just arrived at their specific areas. ~All’s well at the mome…~ Suddenly he felt a cold breeze blow across his neck as if some was standing behind him. He spun round phaser drawn ready to attack who had crept up to him. All there was the deserted control hub. He stared hard into the few dark reassess in the room but found nothing as he took out his tricorder and gave the room a quick scan. “Must have been a surge in the environmental systems that’s all” He was trying to sound more convinced than he felt as he turned back to the view screen. He sensed something behind him rather than heard anything. This time he turned more slowly and came face to face with a person. “Holy S**t.” Andrew gave a cry of alarm and stepped back as he aimed his phaser. When the person did not advance he lowered his phaser and looked at the person. She was a human about 5 foot with her brunette hair tied up into a ponytail. She was wearing the uniform of the station personnel. What gave him a start was the inhuman look in her eyes and the hungry grin that spread across her face. Before he could say anything she let out a silent cry and launched herself at him swinging something at him. Andrew stepped forward and to one side so that he would get out of the way of her weapon. He then lashed out with his fist to hit her in the side of the head to knock her out. His fist met thin air as she vanished in from of him. He stood there for a few seconds trying to understand what had happened. “F**k this for a game of Soldiers.” “Williams to Yates, L’Risa.” Nothing but static. He glanced at the main viewscreen and was relieved to see that the away teams were still moving =/\=Smithson to Commander Williams=/\= ~Well at least I can talk to someone~ “Williams here.” =/\=Myself and Ensign Fala just encountered something strange=/\= Andrew glanced around the room before answering. “Yes I’ve had an untoward experience up here.” =/\=Well Sir one moment this room titled Medical was full of people working and some strapped down on Biobeds and then all vanished, we are currently scanning the room sir, but I advise extreme caution from here on in=/\= “Definatly a good idea and keep a look out. He gave a long sigh as he sat down at the console in front of him. “Well isn’t this just bloody marvellous. What the hell is going on this station.” (Reply None) (Posted by Robbie) (Research Station - Research Section - TAC/ASC, Ensign Alexandria Smithson - 11:26) Both of the Ensigns stood in the hallway of the research section looking around and wondering where everyone was. "What do you think?" asked Fala. "Want to split up and look in each of the research labs or stick together?" "It is more logical to stick together," responded the security officer. "The labs can be searched quicker." "Agreed," said the Bajoran science officer with a tricorder in his outstretched hand. "Still nothing." As they entered the room labelled Medical, they looked around and saw the room which contained six personnel who seemed to be really busy working, while a multitude of them had been restrained to Biobeds, all had a sense of urgency on their faces. Suddenly all turned to mist as they faded from the room, Alex’s mouth just hung open in shock. "What the..." stated Ensign Fala with his mouth open. When the astonishment wore off he looked back at his tricorder. Pulling out her Tri-corder Alex also scanned the room “I have never seen this type of thing happen before” She said and tapped her Commbadge. =/\= Smithson to Commander Williams =/\= (Reply Williams) =/\= Myself and Ensign Fala just encountered something strange =/\= (Reply Williams) =/\= Well Sir one moment this room titled Medical was full of people working and some strapped down on Biobeds and then all vanished, we are currently scanning the room sir, but I advise extreme caution from here on in =/\= she said. (Reply Fala) (Reply Williams, Fala) (Posted by Paul Davies) (USS Spectre - Captains Ready Room - CO, Captain T'Vhor - 11:27) The Captain had been listening intently to all of Caras' concerns regarding the feelings that she had begun experiencing upon her arrival here, indeed, his own innate telepathic abilities were corroborating them! "So, would you say that whatever is occuring here is tantamount to being.... unatural?", he enquired. (Reply Caras) The Counsellor had answered of course, but had been cut off by the sudden announcement from the senior bridge officer regarding loss of contact with the away team. Immediately, he began to feel unease, the emotion courtesy of his Betazoid half of course, his response though was to immediately sit up straight. "I'm on my way", he said curtly, intonating to the Counsellor that their immediate discussion would have to resume later. She then followed him onto the bridge. (Reply Caras) (Posted by Alan) (Station Echo One Zero - Research Section - Ensign JG Fala Taban - 11:28) Ensign Fala Taban couldn't believe his eyes as the occupants of the medical bay disappeared right in front of him. "What the..." stated Ensign Fala in disbelief. "I have never seen this type of thing happen before," stated Ensign Alexandria Smithson who tapped her combadge. As the security officer talked over the situation with Commander Williams, Ensign Fala slowly walked towards one of the biobeds. He still wasn't picking up anything. No life signs anywhere. "So what do you make of what just happened here Fala?" asked Smithson. The science officer shook his head. "I have no idea. It was like they were there. I could see them plain as day and then they faded out. I wasn't getting anything on my tricorder then and I'm still getting nothing. It looked like they were experimenting on the people strapped to the biobeds here. What do you think our next move is?" (reply Williams, Smithson) (posted by Jason French) (USS Spectre - Bridge - CO, Captain T'Vhor - 11:29) "Report", stated the Captain upon his return. "Sir, the tactical officer reports that contact has been lost with the away team members. Currently, there does not seem to be any reason why we cannot hail them", said the Lieutenant now vacating the centre chair. "It's as though they have.... disappeared sir", he added worried. "Have the transporter chief attempt to establish a lock on them, it is illogical that they have simply disappeared", ordered the Captain. "Aye sir, said the Tactical officer as he proceeded to do just that whilst the Captain took his seat and began accessing the armrest console. "Have there been any changes in regards the power signatures on the station?", he asked, directing his query now to the Ops officer, who responded immediately. "The CEO reported a minor drain in the vicinity of one of our own nacelle's sir, other than that though there have been no changes. Lt Adams is investigating accordingly.", replied the Ops officer. The Captain nodded accordingly, and then turned to the Counsellor who had already taken a seat beside him. "Counsellor?", he asked, "what are you feeling now?" (Reply Fala) “I know” She responded absentmindedly, as she was focused on something “I wonder” She accessed the stations sensor logs and turned around at hearing a noise. What she saw was a recording of what happened in Medical, turning back round she downloaded the data, fully aware that Fala was still shocked. “Fala, that was a Sensor recording we saw, use every scanning science trick you know get as much data as you can, this place is giving me the creeps” She said. He knew that it was using the power reserves but he could not stay here with all those shadows. This in turn was giving him a headache and his head felt like there were steel bands squeezing his head. “You can keep your head when all about you are losing theirs and blaming it on you.” He had decided to recite Kipling to see if he could focus his mind and stop him from thinking about the woman. =/\= Ensign Smithson to Commander Williams=/\= “Williams here. He quickly glanced around the room to make sure he was totally alone. “This place is really creeping me out.” He muttered to himself. (Reply Fala, Smithson any) (Posted by Robbie) (Research Station - Corridor - Security Officer, Ensign Nathanial Yates - 11:32) "So anyway, there I was sitting in this tub of baked beans when all of a sudden, the entire roof fell in on me", said Yates, engaging in a belly laugh as he finished the sentence and turned towards the Doctor. Only now, the Doc was'nt there. Yates furrowed his brow and glanced furtively up and down the corridor in an attempt to see where L'Risa might have gone. "Doc?", he said quizically, the hairs on the back of his neck already standing up now. "Where the hell d'ya go?", he added, confused now at why the man was no longer there with him. Only a few seconds beforehand he had been speaking to him, they had been but a few feet apart and Yates had been engaging in the comical story in an attempt to settle both of their nerves in this somewhat eerie place. Angered, Yates tapped at his combadge, the resultant chirp signalling an activation of the relevant circuitry. "Yates to L'Risa", he said in as calm a manner as he could muster as he continued to scan the length of the corridor. The communicator though remained silent. "Yates to anyone", said the security officer, "Can anyone hear me?" But still the line remained deathly silent..... but for the sudden sound of a childs voice. "I can hear you", said the voice. Yates swung around in the direction of the voice, then his jaw dropped, his eyes widening in unison at what he was now seeing. There, just ahead of him and swinging a small doll from her right hand stood a young child of perhaps nine or ten. Yates lowered his phasor instinctively, it was probably not advisable under the circumstances but the idea of pointing a weapon at a child just did'nt seem right and he did not want to alarm her. "Hello", said Yates, "Who are you? Where did you come from?" The child rubbed her eye with her free hand and then shrugged her shoulders as though uncertain herself. "From my room", said the child, "only my room is'nt where I left it" Yates ran a hand through his hair at the remark, the furrow in his brow becoming more prominent as he wrestled with the unfolding scene. None of this made any sense. Was this child even really a child! "Are you one of the scientists daughters?", he asked. "My mum said I should'nt talk to strangers", said the child without even answering the security officers question. Yates nodded, it was good advice of course but that did'nt change the fact that her answer had seemed out of place given his initial query. "I can understand that, but I'm not a stranger", said Yates, "I'm with starfleet, I've come here to help" The young girl looked slightly alarmed and then stepped backwards away from where Yates stood, she then drew her doll close to her. "I did'nt mean you silly", she said somewhat arrogantly, "I meant him", she added, pointing behind the security officer! Yates swung around once again expecting to perhaps see the Doctor standing there. His eyes though fell upon the bizzare sight of a man in full 17th century armour, a knight it would seem, his hand extended and holding a heavy sword. Yates' arm raised once again, his phasor now aimed at the man in metal. He shook his head in an attempt to dislodge the absurdity of the situation from within it, it did not work. Then all of a sudden, the knight advanced.... NRPG: More to come. (Reply None) (Posted by Alan) (Station Echo One Zero - Research Section - Science Officer, Ensign JG Fala Taban - 11:33) Ensign Fala Taban stood over the empty biobed, tricorder extended scanning. "Get as much information as we can," stated Ensign Alexandria Smithson from behind. "You are the Science Officer, look at it from that angle, I am only a Security slug who does not put much stock in spirits...Unless!" Fala turned around to watch the security officer access a computer terminal along one of the walls of the room. "Careful, Ensign. We have no idea what type of experiments they were running in here," warned Fala. "I know...I wonder..." trailed off Smithson entranced in her work. Soon a recording of the events that just took place appeared on the screen. She retrieved a PADD and placed it against the computer terminal. Soon all the sensor data was downloaded to the portable device. "Fala, that was a sensor recording we saw," explained the security officer. "Use every scanning science trick you know get as much data as you can, this place is giving me the creeps." The science officer nodded and started to sift through the sensor data that was encoded with the recording. What he was seeing was fascinating. Ensign Smithson spent the time while Fala was investigating the sensor log to bring Commander Williams up to date on their findings. =/\=A wise precaution,=/\= stated the first officer. =/\=Continue your sweep of the station and report anything else find Williams out.=/\= (reply Smithson) "I think I have something," stated Ensign Fala. "It appears that the room was in a state of quantum flux at the point at which the people disappeared. The subatomic resonance of every object in the room shifted. For some reason we didn't shift along with it. The sensor logs right after the incident indicate a different quantum signature." (reply Smithson) "Well, scanning the whole station, each deck is in a different state, shifting at different rates. It seems to be shifting the fastest six decks below us." (reply Smithson) (posted by Jason French) (Research Station - Annex - Security Officer, Ensign Nathanial Yates - 11:34) Yates had by now been pretty much corralled up the corridor and into an adjoining annex leading off from it. His initial phasor hits had seemed to pass right through the man in metal as the strange assailant advanced indefatigably as though powered by some inhuman furnace that burned somewhere within him. Right now, it seemed that there was no place to run, and although it appeared that the knight was some form of holographic projection, the logic just did not fit. Holographic characters could not be projected outside of the confines of a dedicated emmiter array, they could also not inflict bodilly harm, and yet Yates could still feel the sting of the wound to his forearm, sustained from the edge of the sword as it had glanced off of it during the knights latest assault. Looking around him, the security officer attempted vainly to find something that he could fight with for his phasor was obviously useless! What though did you use to fight a man that was seemingly able to absorb blows or strikes of any kind? ~Where is that damned Doctor?~ thought Yates absurdly, here he was being chased by a seventeenth century knight and taking the time to wonder where the medic had gotten to! Briefly, he reached up to the torn arm of his tunic, the blood spreading freshly now through the fabric as it oozed from the wound beneath. Tentatively, he ran a finger through the blood and then licked it from it before spitting it venomously upon the floor before the knight. The knight then advanced again, clanking and squeeking heavilly as it did so. "Damn you you freakish monstrosity", yelled Yates, clambering up into one of the side vents leading off from the annex as the knight closed on him again, it's sword arm sweeping through the air in great swathes in it's attempt to make mince meat of the retreating security man. Yates again looked about from within his hidey hole, the warning sign on a panel suddenly catching his eye on the bulkhead to his left. "DANGER - UNCOUPLED PLASMA FEEDS" Yates wasted no time at all and smashed at the panel with his elbow repeatedly, the metal cover denting inwards and buckling the hinges that held the cover in place until it suddenly fell away to reveal six feeds on opposite sides of the now revealed port. Grasping one of them by it's rubberized grip, Yates hauled it from it's mount, taking great care not to touch the pulsing blue end as it uncoiled from it's spring loaded reel until a good four feet of clear tube lay on the floor of the vent. By now, the knight had come to an abrupt stop at the vents entrance, it's head angled upwards towards the missing cover through which Yates had disappeared seconds beforehand, it's steel slatted visor hiding whatever face it bore beyond.... if indeed there was a face. Instantly, the sword then made it's appearance once again, it's tip thrusting into the vent and stopping inches from a huddled up Yates who by now was pushing with his foot at the plasma tube in the hope that it might make contact with something metal, though seemingly to no avail. The knight withdrew it's sword from the vent and then reached in with a metal gauntlet covered hand.... and that's when it inadvertently grasped the end of the tube. All at once, there was a hollow metallic shriek as the plasma began running through the suit of armour, it's pulsing blue light shining brightly from the knights slatted visor as it recoiled and then fell to it's knees in an undignified heap in the middle of the corridor. "YES!", cried Yates victoriously, "I got you you clanking heap of scrap metal... melt you insidious pile of junk. MELT!" And it did.... Within about ten seconds, all that then remained of the knight was a pool of molten metal upon the floor, the smoke from the now burning carpeting rising all around it as it began to seep slowly into the bulkhead beneath. Then it began to cool, hardening into a dark grey nondescript blob where it fell as it did so until Yates finally felt safe enough to venture out of his hole. He came down with a thud and then nodded appreciatetly at the vanquished foe before him, briefly he rubbed at his wounded arm and then used his remaining uninjured arm to wipe the sweat from his forehead before cracking a typically 'Yates' type of comment. "Nighty night Knight", he quipped. And then he set off in the hope of finding the missing L'Risa once more. It seems to be shifting the fastest six decks below us.” Now giving Fala a concerned look “Not temporal flux?” She asked, not wanting to believe it. (Reply Fala) “I do not think we should stay here any longer” She said, real concern in her voice, then tapping her Commbadge "Smithson to Commander Williams" (Reply Williams) "Sir according to Ensign Fala’s scans each level of this base is in a different state of flux, it seems 6 levels below are moving faster than where we are, I suggest we hurry up, or we might suffer the same fate" She said as she was listening to the Commander an errant thought hit her. (Reply William’s) "Understood Sir, Smithson out, she said and closed one link and opened another to the Spectre. "Ensign Smithson, to Spectre Tactical" But strangely, nothing came back! (Reply Fala, Williams, Spectre) (Posted by Paul Davies) (Station Echo One Zero - Research Section - TAC/ASC, Ensign Alexandria Smithson 11:35) The security officer tapped her badge again. "Ensign Smithson, to Spectre Tactical." "Request that you pull up that weapon's signature scan and alter the parameters and search that weapon energy object for Tachyon and Chronotron radiation signatures, this base is in a state of Flux, I am playing a hunch here." Through all this Alex realized that not even the faintest signal was getting through. Deactivating her Commbadge, she looked at Fala “Now it that not the strangest thing, it seems that we have no contact with the ship” "I agree," replied Fala. "Let's get back to Commander Williams and try to establish contact with the Spectre there. Maybe Yates and L'Risa have discovered something back in the medial section. Until we have a handle on what is going on, I suggest we stick together so that we don't end up getting separated due to the phase shifts." “From me you will get no dissention” Alex said as the pair left their area and headed back to Commander William’s position. Sometime later both arrived where Commander William’s was. “Sir, we have no contact with the ship, Ensign Fala might be able to explain better” Alex said as soon as William’s looked up at them. (William’s, Fala) (Reply Williams, Fala) (Posted by Paul Davies) (Station Echo One Zero - Research Section - Science Officer, Ensign JG Fala Taban - 11:35) The security recording contained quite a bit of information on what they witnessed. With that information Ensign Fala Taban was able to scan the station only to find out that the stations was in some sort of quantum flux. Pieces of the station were shifting through different realities at different rates. "Not temporal flux?" asked Ensign Alexandria Smithson trying to take in everything that the science officer was telling her. "No," replied Fala looking back at his tricorder. "I'm not sensing any chroniton particles anywhere on the station. What I'm seeing is quantum phase shifting. Like pieces of the station moving between realities. Could we now be in a different reality? I don't feel any different." "I do not think we should stay here any longer," stated the security officer. The concern in her voice was noticeable. Before Fala could agree, Smithson once again opened up a channel to the first officer who was one deck below them. (reply Williams) "Understood Sir, Smithson out." The security officer tapped her badge again. "Ensign Smithson, to Spectre Tactical." Only static was returned, but she continued anyway. Still nothing. Only static. (reply Smithson) "I agree," replied Fala. "Let's get back to Commander Williams and try to establish contact with the Spectre there. Maybe Yates and L'Risa have discovered something back in the medial section. Until we have a handle on what is going on, I suggest we stick together so that we don't end up getting separated due to the phase shifts." The hexagon shaped room had just enough head room so he could stand while looking at the port nacelle assembly system which was only available at this location. Ensign Marciano had discovered a drain on the engines. This equipment would tell them what piece of equipment was getting discharged and leading to the plasma bleed off. Adams removed the side plannel and set it on the floor. The diagnostic on the surface looked fine, but he knew better. The hatch to the junction slid open and Ensign Marcino stuck his head through. "Hey," stated the ensign sliding out. "Found Ensign Smith." (reply Smith) "It appears something went wrong while we were docked at McKinley Station and we just discovered the problem," stated Adams bringing the Ensign up to speed. He tapped into the main power systems display and began scanning the system. ~Well there certainly is power drain but it is so small I am suspired that the system picked it up~ He started with the main core systems to see if the drain was coming from there. He looked over at Adams . “It’s not coming from the environmental systems although there are a few power surges not drains but they are all with in parameters.” (Reply Adams ) Scott nodded and turned back to his display as Marciano call out another system he had cleared. ~Hmm ops might also be able to track this down as power distribution is part of their remit~ He glanced at the chronometer which showed on his display. ~Roberts is still on shift~ He looked over at Adams . “Sir I was wondering Ops might be able to give us a hand tracking this power drain?” (Reply Adams ) (Reply Adams , any) (Posted by Robbie) (USS Spectre - Deck 15, Jeffery's Tube Junction 225J - CEO, Lt Christopher Adams - 11:41) There was a drain on the warp engines and Lieutenant Christopher Adams was determined to find it. It looked suitably deserted, a few consoles showing medical data amongst various flashing annunciators, the floor though seemed odd. Entering into the main sickbay, Yates' feet suddenly begun to stick to the floor as though his soles were melting with each step that he took. Instinctively, he drew one foot up and angled it over to take a closer look, but it looked fine. Looking back along his path however he suddenly realized that he had left footprints in the otherwise firm, unyielding carpeting! "Now there's something you don't see every day", said Yates under his breath. His attention though was suddenly taken by one of the biobeds nearby that seemed to have an active bio-readout immediately above it. Now, Yates was certainly not a medical man, but as far as he was concerned, a readout showing lifesigns could only be possible if someone was actually 'on' the biobed! Yates screwed his face up in confusion, his phasor still scanning the room as he advanced towards the errant panel, feet still sticking to the carpet as he went. Then, when he arrived at the table, he looked closely at the readouts. Pulse seventy nine - Body temperature ninety seven point two - Blood pressure one hundred and sixty over eighty six. Those were the variables that Nathanial recognized anyway, the others made little sense to him but by all intents of purpose, this 'patient', seemed stable... and yet there was no patient! Yates shook his head as though to clear the fog that was building within his mind. Fala Taban walked through the doors not even noticing that Ensign Smithson was no where to be seen. He was walking through a small Bajoran village. Looking down he noticed he was no longer wearing his Starfleet uniform, but a shirt and some pants, typical fashion of the Bajoran planet. Looking up a group of Jem'Hadar were walking down the side of the street. ~What the hell,~ thought Fala breaking eye contact with the Dominion soldiers and shuffling away so as not to attract attention. ~Where? When?~ Confused he walked into the nearest temple to help clear his head. Praying to the Prophets sounded like the best thing course of action in such a crazy situation. What Fala needed was some guidance. He walked into the mostly empty room. There was a vedek standing at the front of the temple talking to an older woman and a small boy, around ten years old. "I just don't know what do with him, Vedek Ungtae," stated the old woman. "He wanders in the desert. He kicks apart barrowbug mounds and then will dissect a palukoo just to see...What did you say Taban?" "To see how those tiny legs could support such a big fat body," replied the small boy. Ensign Fala couldn't believe his eyes. He was watching something from his past play out in front of him. "He knows nothing of the Prophets. What should I do?" "He can stay here," replied the vedek. "I will teach him the way of the Prophets." The doors to the temple slid open and a group of four Jem'Hadar soldiers walked in. "We are looking for Keevan Deloria," stated the first. "This is a place of worship. You are not welcome here. Only those that seek the path of the Prophets may enter." One of the Jem'Hadar soldiers pushed the vedek out of the way with the butt of his plasma rifle. Fala Taban stood up and reached down for his Federation phaser, but it wasn't there. A plasma burst came from the end of the Jem'Hadar's rifle and struck Fala Taban right in the chest. The science officer grasped his chest and hit fell against the floor of the station. "Transmit a message to Starfleet, priority one. Advise them of our situation and inform them that I am quarantining this area until further notice please Lieutenant", said the Captain to the Tactical officer now stationed at TAC 1. "Aye sir", said the Tactical officer, just as a call came in from Lt Adams in regards attempts to locate the away team via the transporter. =/\=Adams to bridge=/\= "Go ahead Mr Adams", stated the Captain, hopeful now that he might be the bearer of some good news. =/\=There's nothing wrong with the transporters....It's a sensor issue. (Reply Adams) The Captain could see the logic in the CEO's recommendation, even if there was a risk that the enhancers might materialise off target. "Proceed with your plan Lieutenant. If we need to send further personnel to the station though, we will do so via manual transport so as not to risk any further losses", said the Captain. (Reply Adams) (Posted by Alan) (USS Spectre - Bridge - CO, Captain T'Vhor - 12:05) The Captain settled back into his chair, his fingers momentarilly drumming upon the armrest as he did so. This mission was indeed a conundrum which demanded answers and yet, to find those answers he knew that it was going to be a requirement that further crew would need to be sent. With the transporters effectively offline for now, a manual docking was going to be the only way forwards, and as such, the logical choice would be to use the Marines of course. Already, there had been two instances of fighting on the lower decks during transit, and whilst Kowalski had dealt with that situation admirably, the Captain knew that as fighting men, they were always itching for some action. It was with that thought that he opened a channel to deck sixteen. "Bridge to Major Kowalski" =/\=Go ahead Captain=/\= came the succinct reply. "I want you to assemble a small team for a possible away mission to the research station", began the Captain, "transporters are not recommended for use at this time so we will be looking at using a shuttle and a manual docking", said the Captain. =/\=Right you are. Do we have any idea of the away teams location at this time?=/\= asked the MXO, already having kept himself aware of the situation that had been unfolding on the station. "It would seem not", said the Captain, "we have been monitoring a buildup of energy on the lower levels of the station itself, it could be that this is in some way interfering with our sensors", he added, instantly becoming aware now of the simile he had just used in regards trouble brewing on two distinctly different 'lower decks'... =/\=I see. We would be using the Trojan yes?=/\= enquired the MXO. "Or a shuttle Major. We are not currently observing any hostile indicators in regards either the station or our missing crew, but the choice would of course be yours", answered the Captain. =/\=OK. I'll get something ready to go within the half hour. I would recommend though that as we are uncertain as to what we might be getting into over there, we go in fully booted and suited. Do you concur?=/\= The Captain raised an eyebrow at the remark, but nodded nonetheless. "As I said Major. The choice is yours as to how you wish to proceed..... But your recommendation seems a logical one", said the Captain after a brief pause. "I will forwards all the relevant facts and layout of the station, you may wish to avail yourself of these in regards any planning you may make", he added. =/\=I know the layout Captain. It's my job to know beforehand as you are surely aware=/\= said Kowalski... =/\=But feel free to send away=/\= Another rise of an eyebrow in typical Vulcan fashion, the Captain then responded accordingly. The usual suspects were gathered of course, Houseman, Smith, O'Hara, Winterman and Denny being those that immediately stood out for one reason or another. It was'nt that they were particularly notable, it was just that they were recognizable due to each of them being on report regarding 'in fighting' a few days earlier. Kowalski was not about to show any of them any leniency and the look upon his face as he gathered his thoughts said it all. Taking a deep breath, Bruce then addressed the team and brought them up to speed on the situation evolving on Echo One Zero. "Gentlemen, it would seem that we have been tasked by our Vulcan hybrid friend upstairs to go dig the away teams asses out of whatever gloopy situation they have managed to get themselves into. It would seem also that transporters are a no go.... People have been disappearing, strange energy buildups are appearing at various location ofn the station", said Kowalski, glancing around the room at his men as they took in what he was saying. Then he continued on... "I don't want any of you to disappear on this mission. Indeed, I will personally kick the butts of any Marine that disappears without formal permission to do so during this mission. Further to this, anyone that DOES disappear will, after their butts have been kicked, be doggy paddling themselves back to the nearest starbase where they will be butt kicked again by the Colonel", said Kowalski sternly, the no-nonsense look still upon his face as he spoke. "Do I make myself perfectly clear gentlemen?", he added abruptly. (Reply Any) "Good. For your information then....", said Kowalski, pacing left and right across the room now with his hands clasped behind his back, and emphasising the words that followed accordingly. "We will treating this foray as a mission into hostile territory. We do not know what we are up against and thus, we will expect any eventuality up to and including having to 'Butt-kick' anything that looks out of the ordinary on this station", he added, coming to a stop again in the middle of his pacing. "Our primary goals are, One. To re-establish communications linkup with the Spectre via portable boosted arrays, preferably utilising the Marine comms bands to avoid signal migration to the compromised communications array on the staion itself. Two, to locate and make contact with the away team members and manually escort them to the key point, which will be the control room into which the away team initially beamed.... and Three. To secure the station pending further orders from the Captain", said Kowalski, again glancing into each of the faces of those before him in turn. "Are there any question so far ladies?", he added expectantly... (Reply Any) (Posted by Alan) =========================================================================
