Family and Background |
: |
Father: John Flagg - Designer of Covert Ops equipment for Starfleet. Missing, presumed dead.
Mother: Karen Flagg - Trained as Geisha but retired upon marrying.
Rebecca had an uneventful childhood. She was raised by her mother as her Father was heavily involved with his work for Starfleet. Her Father compensated for his absences by giving her lots of gifts, including nanotechnology that could change her hair colour. She enjoyed what little time she spent with her father and decided to follow in his footsteps by studying Engineering. As Rebecca came of age her Mother began to school her in the arts of being a Geisha, even though neither of her parents wanted her to go down that road. |

Pre-Starfleet History |

At the age of 20 Rebecca was kidnapped for several months by a group trying to force her father to work for them. During her time in captivity she was abused by her kidnappers. A daring rescue brought her freedom, but she was left feeling helpless. In order to combat these fears she decided to forego her Engineering training and enlisted in the Marines.
After Basic her previous studies in engineering were put to use as Rebecca worked as a Combat Engineer. She quickly became an EOD (Explosives Ordnance Disposal) Specialist and work in an inelegance squad when her skills where required.
When Rebecca was 23 her father was reported killed in the line of duty, but nobody was ever found or returned. She began receiving hidden messages from him that indicated something was going to happen and that all would not be as it appeared.
During a regional dispute Rebecca volunteered to stay in a hot zone and defuse a bomb. As a result of her decision she found herself caught up in some extremely heavy fighting. During a particularly nasty fire fight she was hit by incoming fire and her right arm was gravely injured. Starfleet Medical was unable to save the badly mauled limb. The arm was amputated and replaced with a cybernetic one. Rebecca used dance, esp fan dance, in her recovery. The maintance that her arm required meant that she could not work as a marine in the field. Instead of taking a desk job, Rebecca joined the fleet and went to the academy.

Flagg enjoys all types of art and is involved in a several. Her favourite is signing where is can perform a large selection of styles. During her time at the academy Rebecca discovered Lounge signing and quickly gained a regular spot in the Gold Dust lounge, that was known for her vocals as much as its titillating performances.
She also loves fan dancing and practices it more than her other arts even though it is not her favourite. The use of the dance help her get use to her new cybernetic arm. With the nearly forgotten use of Tessen (war fans) she uses the skills as her preferred method of self-defence. She has a selection of Tessens from classic metal ribbed fans to one with energy absorbing materials. Flagg may not often perform a full dance performance but will quite use flicks and tosses when entertaining.
Flagg also takes great pride in performing tea ceremony and has a couple of sets including one hand made tea set.
When Flagg was young her mother taught her how to play the Shemisen that she will sometimes play. |

Admiral Bell threw her arms around the Ensign, "You don't have to be scared anymore, you don't have to be guilty anymore, you are not responsible for what that madman did to you.", she said to her quietly and for a moment longer, releasing her from the embrace. "It's going to take time, its going to be a toll... I will be right here, and I am not going anywhere."
