Pre-Starfleet History |
: |
An Away Team discovered Jexe (or actually it was the other way around) while exploring (classified) in the Romulian neutral zone. While there Jexe was awaken from a coma-like slumber after sensing the presence of the team. Immediately he realized he had no idea of where, or who he was. Pushing that aside, drawn by curiosity, he veiled his presence and approached the officers, going so far as to contact one telepathically.
The results were nearly fatal as the contact nearly killed Commander Cosa Daxx, the Away Team leader. Realizing that the Organics as he called them, were weaker than he thought he initiated contact again with another officer, this time being more careful and successful with First Contact.
It was revealed later that Jexe suffered from an illness (leading some to suspect that was the reason why he was found alone on the planet in the first place) that was beginning to take its toll. Unlike most organic diseases where one organism can infect another, the reverse was happening with Jexe. In the Titan's case whoever he contacted telepathically he would absorb the genetic structure of the species and become them.
In his case the two officers he contacted - Commander Cosa Daxx and Dr. Peter Ghent - their genetic codes were absorbed by Jexe, transforming him. In time he become the genetic equivalent of their son, if the two officers were to have a child. The dramatic transformation changed him from a sentient energy being to a Titan-humanoid hybrid with limited powers of his former self.
After the transformation scientist described him as a living Tricorder, and Phaser combined. Being organic Jexe has all the limitations that living beings have - dependency on a breathable atmosphere, and shelter from challenging environments. However his Ionic Titan abilities allow him to sense energy fields much like a tricord or a ship's sensor array can, and to tap into what he calls the Living Spectrum. In terms of physical power he's about twice as strong a Vulcan, able to emit focused beams of energy form his body on a level as powerful as a phaser (such actions often leaves him physically drained - like running a marathon). Such an act is something Jexe would rather not do. Jexe can also enhance/poloarize the energy field around his body protecting him like a shield, but only for a limited amount of time - think of it like holding your breath. The field will dissipate energy, but not matter. He could be protected from a high stun phaser beam, but not a bullet. From explosions, but not the shrapnel from it. Radiation may not affect him, but a right cross to the jaw will.
Again, using his power drains him, requiring him to rest and eat large portions of protein to recharge, or what he calls Atomic Jello.
With abilities beyond a normal humanoid, Jexe is still learning what it is to be Human. Though powerful, Jexe is still naive about the ways of Organics, their origins, and his role in the universe. Much of life in the Federation he has learned through his best friend Owen Cross and through the memories of his Co-parent's absorbed DNA. To honor them Jexe as fashioned his own, unique last name: Jexe Of Daxx And Ghent - Jexe O'Dag. |
Starfleet History |
: |
After his discovery Jexe was transfered to Taurus III, Star Fleet's observation station along the Romulian Neutral Zone. Off most commercial and Federation travel routes, life on the station was fairly routine save for periodic attacks by Gafarian Pirates who prowled the planetoid and rogue moons along the neutral zone.
Twice, the entire station had to be abandoned from the attacks, until the area was deemed too dangerous for the staff and officers stationed there. Soon afterwards Jexe, along with his best friend Owen Cross, were transferred to the USS Bonaventure.

Admiral Bell threw her arms around the Ensign, "You don't have to be scared anymore, you don't have to be guilty anymore, you are not responsible for what that madman did to you.", she said to her quietly and for a moment longer, releasing her from the embrace. "It's going to take time, its going to be a toll... I will be right here, and I am not going anywhere."
