BJ is thin & wiry, has the graceful movements of an avid practitioner of the martial arts, and has the pale skin of white humans that have lived most of their life in artificial environments. BJ keeps his hair short and often walks about with a frown. When he smiles it lights up his face and his blue eyes sparkle.
History, Education and Skills
Family and Background :

BJ was born and raised in the Free Trader Society of the Clans, often referred to as Space Gypsies within the Federation. BJ Lost his mother and father when the Free Trader SS Coin was destroyed while fighting off a pirate attack. BJ has an older sister, Brennetta Juliet Tess, who serves aboard the Free Trader SS Tipper of Clan Royke, of the family of ADM Tess. Brennetta serves as Chief Engineer and is married to William Tess, who serves as st Officer of the SS Tipper.

Starfleet Academy FTCs (Free Trader Certifications) are the equivalent of Trade school Certifications to show competency in a specific Skill Set. When BJ was 21 and serving aboard the Free Trader Dancer IV of Clan Royke, family of ADM Stone, BJ caught a case of Sprinntu Flu, a rare viral flu. Humans that catch Sprinntu Flu either survive or die from the viral flu. Those that live thru the experience (less than 5 percent of humans that catch this virus survive) seem to gain a unique change to their auto immune system making them strongly resistant to other illnesses.

BJ is an avid martial artist and often enjoys tinkering with and improving on the performance of equipment and devices. BJ enjoys studying cultures and world governments. He enjoys participating in Trade and Bartering. BJ is an amazing Scrounger and would make a most excellent Ship's Supply Officer.

Hobbies :

BJ enjoys swimming, martial arts, plays the harmonica and guitar, and enjoys reading about other cultures and worlds. During his time in the Academy BJ has found great enjoyment in exploring and hiking, along with the sport of bouldering and climbing.
