Robert is short and stalky. He has numerous scars from duty, and has a rough face, almost as if chiseled from rock. He habitually wears his face immobile, a mask that betrays no emotion.
His most predominant features, however, are the Borg implants that ring a couple of the fingers on his right hand, and continue up to his arm and side. They have been fully deactivated, but Robert had the hardware itself left as a reminder of his failure. He calls the metal surrounding his fingers his 'class ring'.

In the short time of freedom he had before taking a scholarship to Starfleet Academy on a Tactical major, He worked at a historical museum for the Old style naval fleet of the United States Government. He was a low level upkeep employee that regularly traveled the few moth balled and preserved vessels and recorded things that needed fixing or restoration.
The last straw that pushed him into Starfleet at the tender age of 18 was his parents absolute insistence that He attend a musical college for his skills at the Clarinet. He rebelled, and it was many years before his family would speak to him again.

Starfleet History |
: |
Robert spent all but ten years of his Starfleet career on Starships as both a Marine and Tactical officer.
He entered Starfleet at the age of 18 on a Federation History and Race Relations minor. His preferred duty station was Security/Tactical, and hence he took those prep courses while He attended. During his junior year, he had a change of heart and switched his intended career track from tactical to Marine. After his graduation from Starfleet Academy, he was transferred to Paris Island for the basic training he required to become a Marine.
His first eight years was spent as a Starfleet Marine, in which he attained the rank of Major and head of a Regiment stationed on Starbase K-19. He then attended Starfleet Academy once more for two years to become a fully qualified Engineer, and immediately went to the Marine Training Island to take the fabled "Combat Engineering' classes that would qualify him in Counter Terror, Explosives Handling and Explosive Ordinance disposal. By the time He was re stationed on K-19, he was a fully qualified and fired up Combat Engineer, and took command of the CE squad 'Blackops'.
Two years later, after a failed 'Borg Busting' mission in which he was partially assimilated, he transferred out of the SFMC and Combat engineering and used his extensive knowledge in Counter Terror and EOD along with weapons expertise to transfer into Security/Tactical.
His years in Security proved that He was dedicated and militarily brilliant, even after his failure with the borg, and He was quickly sent to the Starfleet Advanced War College (AWC) to fully train his formidable mind and advance his already formidable skills. He found the AWC to be dry, yet informative, and graduated with Honors after the required year of training. The training there in Strategy, Tactics and warfare honed his already intuitive grasp of combat, and pushed him to even greater success in the Field of Security/Tactical.
After many years as a successful Security Chief , he altered his Career track once again and entered command. Within a year he was Second Officer of the Lexington and had graduated Starfleet Command school. He later became First Officer of a full military variant of a Sovereign class vessel, the USS Steel Talons.
Eventually he ended up at Starfleet Academy's Advanced War College as a full captain and Head Instructor of Strategy and Tactical Theory for Advanced Cadets and full Fleet Officers. His expereiance in both Marine and Tactical operations along with his cold yet lively presentation proved him outright as one of the best professors on the AWC's roster. He regularly applied hands on work to the dusty theory behind Strategy, causing the passing rate of Students at the AWC to rise 12% during his tenure.
After a full ten year tenure at the AWC, He was offered Flag rank and the chance to become the Commandant of Starfleet Academy. He accepted after a one month Sabbatical, and has since taken over fully with his unique no-nonsense attitude and style.
With his tenure at Starfleet Command at an end, he was offered command of a Squadron on the fringe, that required some tactical restructuring. |

Admiral Bell threw her arms around the Ensign, "You don't have to be scared anymore, you don't have to be guilty anymore, you are not responsible for what that madman did to you.", she said to her quietly and for a moment longer, releasing her from the embrace. "It's going to take time, its going to be a toll... I will be right here, and I am not going anywhere."
