Aya takes after her human mother, with her almost blue-black hair and the cafe-au-lait tone of her skin. Her grey-blue eyes also come from her mother's side of the family, descended as she is from the old earth region of Afghanistan. She is tall and slender, perhaps even slightly on the this side, and her face is an almost perfect oval, with her mother's high cheek-bones and almond-shaped eyes.
History, Education and Skills
Family and Background :

Born on the USS Devonshire, where her father worked as a counsellor and her mother as a science officer, Aya spent her early years on the ship with her parents. She has an older brother and a younger sister. Her brother is a science officer, and her sister is a doctor, both serving on Starflleet vessels.

Education

:

Educated first in the school on board the Devonshire, and then she and her siblings spent most of their secondary years at a school on Betazed, living with their grandparents on their father's side, since her parents felt she and her siblings should learn something of their father's culture. Aya went to the prestigious University of Khabul on earth, this time living with her mother's family and learning of their culture, where she studied Psychology.

Part-time post-graduate studies in Psychology and languages.

Starfleet History

:

Four years at Starfleet Academy, specialising in counselling. First assignment was to the hospital ship USS Marie Curie working with Starfleet personnel suffering from post-traumatic stress syndrome. Her second was as ACOUNS on the USS Paladin. After the Paladin was almost destroyed at Betazed, Aya spent a few months on Geneva, before being assigned to the USS Dennison, when Captain Archibald Stakes took command.

:

Empathic, which together with her knowledge of the body-language of the major Federation races adds to her counselling skills.

Other Information
Hobbies :

Likes to play an old earth game called snooker on the holodeck. She has a favourite program which she often runs, a club/bar in Newcastle called "Percy's".

General Notes

:

Aya can be a little shy at first in social situations, but once she gets to know you, she is opens out and gets on well with most people.

Awards :

Admiral Bell threw her arms around the Ensign, "You don't have to be scared anymore, you don't have to be guilty anymore, you are not responsible for what that madman did to you.", she said to her quietly and for a moment longer, releasing her from the embrace.
