Height : 5 foot 11 Blood : Red
Strong, athletic and fit, although not tall, his true strength is often missed and when it is shown can be quite unbelievable! There are small scars on his arms and his hands from a lifetime of running the power operations of a large colony and repairing power systems on everything, from a phaser to a large shuttle.
History, Education and Skills
Family and Background :

Both parents setup life for themselves on Caere after leaving Earth for a new start, after many years of colonisation efforts. Setting up the colony was their first love and died before the colony was abandoned. Two brothers who upon leaving Caere vowed to continue their work and signed up for the next colonisation missing they could find. Shayne believes they are now in the Gamma Quadrant, although it has been a long time since he has spoken to them.

Education

 :

Schooled at the main university on Caere, Shayne was taught by some of the finest minds the colonist has to offer but it wasn't a rounded education and lent towards Engineering and away from Mathematics. A lifetime of experience of fusion based power systems but no experience of anti-matter power generation.

Pre-Starfleet History

 :

Colonists that set out from Deep Space 4, Shayne and a group of 20,000 settlers headed for a planet called Caere in the Omega Sector. Close to the Romulan Border, the settlers had a hard time on the planet for six decades before abandoning the planet and Starfleet calling and end to their colonisation efforts.

Starfleet History

 :

Starfleet recruited Shayne at Deep Space 4, six months after he had left Caere after he was helping out keep the stations generators repaired.

Medical History

 :

Fusion burns to both arms above the elbows and scarred hands.

Skills

 :

Any traditional power generators that use a fuel not including anti-matter, Engineer and has a lifetime of experience to draw upon, there isn't a lot that Shayne hasn't taken apart and worked out how it functions.
Other Information
Hobbies :

Tinkering with any machines lying around, he has a nasty habit of pulling apart anything and not putting it back together if something else distracts him.

General Notes

:

Shayne isn't an Officer, he can't lead and has no leadership-skills, Starfleet has designated him strictly has a non-commissioned officer candidate and believes anything situation outside his field of expertise, would rapidly become out of control if he was in charge.
