ILLUMINARRPG: (3 - 1116) Ensign Pilot Pihi 'Kestral' Piripi

Mission:  The Ring of Rephaim

Day: 3

Stardate: 2446.09.02



(USS Illuminar – Deck 1 – Bridge – Pilot Ensign Pihi ‘Kestral’ Piripi –
1116)



Pihi was on helm, monitoring the ship in relation to the new anomaly, some
sort of constructed ring that the sensors were having a hard time
penetrating. As she admired the information she was seeing, while guiding
the ship in a spiral search pattern.



She kept one ear attune to the command staff, but was still startled when
the doctor called out. “Piripi and Torek, let’s go.”



Pihi rotated her chair and stood up. The backup helmsperson moved to take
the seat while she headed to the turbolift, “Yes Ma’am,” she said.



After letting the commander off, she continued in the turbolift to the
shuttle bay.



Walking out of the turbolift, she headed to the flight controller to see
which shuttle was reserved for the mission.  After some pleasantries with
the FCO, she learned they were taking the USS Io.  A type 9 shuttlecraft.
Small, maneuverable.  Might be a bit tight quarters, but she’d be on the
flight deck, and she was small anyway.



She acknowledged she was going to be the pilot for the shuttle and signed
for it.



Walking onto the flight deck, she did her standard walk around before
accepting the PADD with the flight logs from an eager shuttle wing captain.
She didn’t notice any anomalies on her walkaround, but the only way to
become an old pilot was to be a cautious pilot.



Stopping at the entrance, she finally accepted the PADD and let the man
open the shuttle for her.  Pihi made her way to the flight deck.  Calling
the pre-flight checklist up, she started working her way through it, while
making notes on the PADD.



She heard the back door open and someone enter the shuttle. Since they
didn’t come forward, she ignored them and kept right on working and making
notes.  She punched a series of keys in to connect her VISOR implants to
the sensors.  She smiled as she began to receive the data.  A good day for
flying.
