Gregory turned around at the voice "I'm right here, Commander.  We're 
all right here."

"Excellent, what.  Indeed, most fortuitous," he said pointing to the 
screen.  "Tell me Lieutenant Pex, Ensign Khatri.  What does a scan with 
a peak frequence at 21 hertz, and a second line at 4 hertz tell you?" he 
asked.

"Commander, Doctor Solice told us you should be resting.  Will you let 
us take you back to the Pasteur?"  Pex said.

"Nonesense and poppycock," he said.  "I am fit as a fiddle.  Everything 
is ship shape and Bristol fashion," he added, pointing to his head. "The 
little grey cells are firing just fine.  In fact, right there, look 
right there," he said, pointing to a screen that showed a jagged spikey 
line with no clear peaks.   "It was there, I tell you.  Computer 
playback the frequency scans over the past five minutes.  Isolate and 
highlight peaks int he 1 to 25 hertz range."

The screen changed and began to replay the scans from the last five 
minutes. At one point Gregory points excited at two small peaks above 
background.  "There you see it?"
