Lanista had tracked the source of the emanations, having been joined by a
small cadre of Klingon warriors. The band of mostly men was diversely
armed, some fighters carrying melee weapons, others wielding disruptors.
Lani' had her warhammer and, of course, the dagger sheathed in her
vambrace. The hammer and knife were not her favorite armaments, not by a
longshot. She had studied both the Vulcan martial art of Suus Mahna as well
as the Klingon one of «moQbara'» ("Mok'bara"). She had incorporated the
ahn’woon and a modified lirpa into her "Suus-bara'" or "moQ-mahna" fighting
style. Her lirpa housed the technological components of a Klingon «'oy'naQ»
("painstick") too. Lani' also had a custom-size «betleH» ("bat'leth") which
was larger than normal (due to her own size) and sharp on the concave edges
rather than the convex ones. The Vulcan weapons and her unique betleH were
her favorites. Lacking those at the moment, she would have to make due with
the ones she had.

The battle-band of Klingons rushing in the same direction as Lani' was were
not guided by Lanista, nor were they aware that her vambrace contained a
sensor device. They were, as others rushing elsewhere in search of the
would-be killer, simply participating in a broad sweep of the building.
This was an ad hoc search party.

"Here," Lani' abruptly announced when she reached where her device had led
her. She stopped, but most of the others kept moving.

"What are you talking about?" asked one warrior.

"My readings say he's in here," Lani' said.

"«DujwIj vIvoq!»" he said. ("I trust my instincts!")

"Suit yourself," Lanista said with a slight shrug as the man hurried
onward, then she entered the area where her readings indicated she'd find
her quarry…

Her warhammer was at the ready!
