NRPG: I’m back from LOA. RPG:

 

(USS Illuminar– Time-Out Shuttle – ACONN Alex Dyson – 0901)

 

One momentAlex had been headed for the door to his quarters, the next a transporter beamcarried him away. When it faded, he was in a shuttlecraft. ~Oh, great.~ He hada hunch what had just happened. To check if his hunch, he approached the controls,only to find his access blocked by a forcefield. ~Yep, I’m in time out.~ Alexfigured he had two options: Lose his cool or take it easy. Option one was ano-go, so he went for option two.

 

He took offhis uniform jacket, folded it into a ‘pillow’ for lack of a better word andthen put it down on the floor. He lay down and stared at the ceiling. Then he decidedto make his move. Without actually moving. ~Here we go…~

 

“Computer,can I record a log entry ?”

“Beginrecording.”

“To TemasLaredo and Doctor Quinna Solice. Hello, Counselor and Doc. So, Counselor, rememberour ‘get to know you’ conversation ? Well, I have confirmation that K’Nera,daughter of Rox gave birth to a daughter of her own. Her name is Mackenzie, daughterof K’Nera and she is fifteen years old. Until a couple of weeks ago, she livedwith her mother on Farius Prime. All of this was confirmed by her grandfatherRox. However, things get more complicated from this point on. Before Icontinue, you can share the transcript of that conversation with Doctor Solice,by the way.” He paused.

 

“Mackenziehas a Romulan half-sibling who lives on New Romulus with her mother Yenna. Severalweeks ago, Mac ran away to join her half-sibling. And this caused K’Nera to giveup her parental rights. So I have to go to New Romulus and collect her. Butthis is where the soup sticks to the spoon. Because I can’t just go to theCaptain and ask him for a shuttle. Starfleet Captains tend to frown upon using equipmentfor personal use. And even if the captain says yes…Well, as soon as they seethe logs, Starfleet Command will lose their cool.” 

 

Hechanged his voice, doing his best stern Admiral imitation. “Misuse of Starfleetequipment, risking a full scale diplomatic incident with BOTH the RomulanRepublic and the Klingon Empire.” His voice went back to normal. “Remember, K’Neraworks for the Klingon Embassy on Farius Prime. So I needed to come up withanother reason for the trip. A way to keep everybody safe from the brass’ wrath,so that the only person’s career in jeopardy is mine.” He scratched his beard.

 

“Thewinner was a ship called the Chalche’yon. Ensign Vermyx told me about it. It’sa slaver ship of Klingon origin. The cover story is that the Klingons want itimpounded and returned to them. I was hoping that Rox would help me create thepaper trail through Lieutenant Weston. Unfortunately, Luma put me in time outbefore things could come together.” He was about to say end recording, but thenrealized he still had to add something.

 

“I pickedthe people who I asked to come along so that they would all have covers in casethe Admirals realize the truth. Lt. Weston has the paper trail to keep him safe,Kelly can claim insanity because of what happened to poor Joy Chinlo and that Imanipulated her. And Ensign Vermyx has criminal connections, so I’ll state thatI blackmailed him into coming. End recording.”
