Mission: For Honor

Day: 5

Stardate: 2446.04.28

(Qo'nos - Diplomatic Quarters - Ambassador Quentin McKenzie - 0914)

The giant woman turned on McKenzie and drew a blade from her sleeve. The Ambassador swallowed hard but stood his ground. Was this woman going to strike him down for his insolence? Then so be it. He made no apologies for his demand.

He didn’t really care how she managed to suddenly appear, nor was he familiar with whatever technology she was talking about as she tried to explain it in a most Vulcan manner. That was not his purview. All he knew was that her current method had posed a threat to the mission. Suddenly she handed the blade to him.

"I'll return to the ship and arrive in a more conventional manner,” she said. “But since I will then be observing all of their formalities even as they observe few or none of ours, they will seize all of the weapons honor will require me to carry."

He really did not understand what was meant by honor requiring her to carry a weapon. T’Mur and her security team were all carrying their weapons. Why would this be any different? But he did not want to argue the point, he just accepted the dagger and watched as she handed a PADD to Sekal then disappeared in a strange shimmer.

They continued to wait for news from the Klingon Council. After about fifteen minutes this Lanista returned through the doorway, this time in a Starfleet uniform. She seemed, at least, more appropriately dressed for her purpose, which was… still to be determined by Sekai. Apparently, he thought that they would need help with the negotiations with the Klingons. If this woman could provide him with some insight then he could see the purpose. But what insight could she have save that of a Klingon who was, apparently, half Vulcan?

When she presented herself to the captain the second time McKenzie stepped over to her and offered the dagger back to her. “I’m uncertain the necessity of such a weapon,” he said unless you believe that Lt Commander T’Mur and her people are not capable of defending us, but you may as well take it back as it holds no interest to me, yet it appears to hold importance to yourself.”

(reply Lanista)
