(Qo'nos- Council Chamber - Minister Pe'tah - 0848)
Pe’tah watched the conflict resolution between Galk and Eshag with interest. Eshag had been a thorn in his side for many years, so if he perished at the hands of this Galk, all the better.
The battle went back and forth and, to be honest, Eshag did far better than Pe’tah thought he was capable of. However the tide turned and there was a lull when a disruptive was tossed into the arena. Pe’tah was already on the move and picked up the Bat’leth Trei had set aside.
>From the cover of the crowd he tossed the weapon towards Galk, calling his name. Trei had already moved to who had thrown Eshag the disruptor, Gordu, and Pe’tah lost his sight of that fight and followed Trei.
Her response was immediate, brutal, and somewhat egregious as she carved Galks name into the other Klingon’s chest. Then she plunged her dagger into Gordu’s chest.
"I took care of it,” Trei announced. ”I see you did as well. What do we do now."
A hand reached down and grabbed Trei by the hair on the top of her head, lifting her off the dead Gordu. It was the massive form of Ahnek.
“Now, little creature,” Ahnek declared, “you die. A thing such as you has desecrated these halls by your presence and then has the audacity to kill a member of the council? There is only one punishment. This beast must be put down.”
“Hold, Ashnek,” Pe’tah called out over the cries of the crowd. He stepped into the center of the arena of Galk’s fight. “Gordu acted without honor. To give such support to Eshag in the midst of a challenge of honor dishonors both himself and his house.”
He moved over to Ashnek staring into his eyes as Trei struggled to free herself from his grip. “A targ such as Gordu deserved no less than to die at the hands of one such as Ariel Trei. She did no less than any Klingon cha’Dich would have done. Killing her now would only add Gordu’s dishonor to your own.”
Ashnek looked back at Pe’tah with a snarl, then released his grip, dropping Trei to the ground. Pe’tah supported her to keep her from dropping to the ground.
“Galk’s challenge was made and answered,” Pe’tah announced. “The results are our law. Ariel Trei acted as cha’Dich as if she were a Klingon warrior. Is there still doubt of her Klingon heart?”
He turned to Morek, “What say you know, Morek?”
“Despite what you believe, the Empire as it stands is not without honor,” Morek stated.
“That is not my belief,” Pe’tah assured the council. “However, what is decided now does make a statement of our honor.”
Then he turned to Morek again, “The matter of the house of Kor is settled. All that was Eshag’s is now Galk’s. That is irrefutable by our law. Now, ask your questions of Ariel Trei.”
(reply Morek)
