Mission: For Honor
Day: 4
Stardate: 2446.04.28

(Qo'nos - Conference Room - Chancellor Morek - 1428)

“I put to you, Chancellor, that we ask this Ariel Trei what her true
intentions are. If we require some proof of her commitment to the empire
then let us ask it if her. Our traditions and ceremonies are the lifeblood
of our people. All of our people. Now we see who our people really are.”

The Chancellor looked about the chamber, his gaze quieting the others
before he leaned forward, placing his palms on the table and glared at
Minister Pe'tah. The House of Nogga had ever been headstrong and in some
manner seemed to relish controversy. As an example, that house had taken in
a Klingon branded a traitor after his house had been dissolved by a former
Chancellor. That Thingen had afterward killed the Chancellor and won his
honor back through blood.

"Pe'tah...," he hissed, "... none should doubt your loyalty nor your
ability to argue a point." There were scattered chuckles around the room at
that. "You speak well." He straightened and placed his hands on his hips.
"But one must ask how far you plan to push this. Should one with diluted
blood be allowed to join our society? We are a proud race and tempered by
war. Fierce and strong and feared throughout two quadrants."

There were mutters of ascent as Morek stepped away from the table then
turned back toward the scion of the house of Nogga. "Our blood is pure and
makes us strong. Our traditions and rites temper us to expand and conquer."

His eyes swept about the room again then returned to Pe'tah. "The decision
we make lays the foundation of the future. Shall one who is twice removed
be accepted into our traditions? And what of the one whose great
grandparent was a half alien?"

He smirked until the laughter died away then his face grew serious once
more. "Will watered down blood still be strong? We will speak on this
tomorrow."

He looked away from Pe'tah then, dismissing him. "Today we stop and
consider the impact such a decision will have on those who follow us. What
will this great Empire look like in the future once we have opened the
gates to any who wish to enter? Our strength comes through unity and ties
of blood, forged through war. Once that bond is broken who, what, will we
be?"

He looked into the eyes of every minister present, Pe'tahs last. "Think on
this." He then turned about and walked to the door.

(Reply: Pe'tah)
