“In the Santa Maria orphanage on Mars," Dyson said. "It’s over at Utopia Colony. My teacher was the Rabbi who gave the music lessons. He passed and left me this beauty.”
"Rabbi?" Michael said questioningly, but let that go for right now. "I didn't realize that orphanages provided such music programs for the children in their care. It's been my experience that their goal is to get everyone out alive." He shrugged, "Of course, I've had a limited experience, and none with Mars."
“I tried other instruments, but this one was what I was the best at.”
"Well you got pretty good, for an orphanage education," Michael said. "I can't do that, but I can't say my educational experience was as good as yours."
“Of course, I didn’t play THIS violin back then. I used a replicated one, which I gave back when I left,” He paused. “I don’t know if you heard yesterday, but this is a Stradivarius. An original one.”
Michael looked impressed, "Really? I don't know much about music, but I do know history. That makes that a fairly priceless item."
Alex nodded. “What about you? Do you play anything ?”
Michael chuckled, "Not really. I picked up the guitar for a while, for an assignment, but I was nowhere near that proficient. I did make it to be a member of a "garage" style band."
"If you don't mind me asking, why would this Rabbi leave you such a priceless item?" Michael asked. Sometimes he couldn't help himself. If he had an itch he had to scratch it.
