(USS Illuminar — Deck 1 — Ready Room — ASEO ENSJG Vermyx — 1257)

"Thank you Ensign, Lieutenant Bohb is Chief of Engineering and you are to
report to him after you have secured your cabin. I will notify him to
expect you," said Sekal.

"Aye-aye," said Vermyx, deliberately pronouncing it as though it were the
name of the only extant member of the family Daubentoniidae.

"One other thing. You will present your weapon to Lieutenant Commander
T'Mur who is Chief of Security and she will see to its authorization ... or
storage. If you retain the weapon you are not to take it outside of your
cabin unless given authorization. Dismissed Ensign."

Vermyx came to attention again, then raised both hands to give two Vulcan
salutes. "Dif-tor heh smusma," Vermyx said in perfectly-inflected Golic
Vulcan. He then shook his hands in a way reminescent of the Old-Earth "jazz
hands" movement, fingers still parted in the traditional Vulcan way.

Sekal nodded and watched him leave, activating the comm as the door closed.

(USS Illuminar — Deck 1 — Bridge — ASEO ENSJG Vermyx — 1259)

After departing the Ready Room, Dano directly approached T'Mur and said,
"I'm to present my weapon for approval." He handed over the long-arm in
question. It was an odd device, or collection of devices. It had 3 separate
barrels of different types, and a cylinder magazine for some kind of
projectile in the buttstock.

Vermyx — 1315)

After securing his billet and checking on his personal effects, Dano made
his way to the CEO's office, musing along the way: "Bohb…" Vermyx thought,
hearing it as a form of "Bob." Unlike the case of Captain Sekal, the Iotian
couldn't guess what species Bob might be, or if it was even an acronym. "It
could stand for 'Benzoate Ostylezene Bicarbonate', f'r all I knows."

Dano knocked on the doorframe of the CEO's office. "Reportin' f'r duty,
Lieutenant!"
