ILLUMINARRPG: (1- 1136) Pilot - Lt. Arthur 'Snoopy' Corday

(USS Illuminar- Deck 2 - FSXO Office - Pilot - Lt. Arthur 'Snoopy' Corday – 1137)

Arthur listened to Vic's explanation of what happened.  He was kind in his comments about Dyson's participation.  They were not incorrect.  But they were also not completely accurate.  He indicated that his role had been to "fly circles around" Bravo squad.  In the confusion Snoppy and Dyson were to pick Bravo off.  It was an decent strategy, with two good fighters.  But the truth of the matter was that Dyson was not ready for that test.  He still required too much babysitting.

Arthur looked at Dyson, then at Grey Wolf.  "Permission to speak freely, XO?"

"I agree with Raid that Dyson did a great job, considering his inexperience," he began.  "But I believe that putting him in that situation was inevitably going to turn this fight into a "free-for-all", as you put it.  Six Bravo Squad fighters against the three of us would have been a tough fight with three experienced fighters.  Two fighters and a rookie... it was as if you expected us to lose.  What was the fatal flaw?"  He turned and looked at Dyson, "Sorry Alex, but you were the flaw in our strategy.  It was great that you got the kill, and that you helped with the other fighter, but the truth was, once my distraction from protecting you was gone Vic and I were free to fight the way we knew how."

He paused for a moment and turned back to Dyson, "You are a good pilot, Alex.  Don't throw that away because you were put in a position that you never should have been at this stage of your training.  You don't trust the ship.  You don't understand the tech.  There was no way you could have survived this fight."

Then he turned to Grey Wolf, "You were originally going to be Knight 3.  What would have been your plan?"
