Mission: Prelude
Day: 1
Stardate: 2446.03.23
(USS Illuminar- Deck 2, Office - FSXO, Lieutenant Tempest Gray Wolf – 1130)
"Raid" fielded her first question.
"Sorry Lieutenant, waiting for some information from the engineering team."
Corday was next. "No, ma’am. They have not. Dyson and I had some
business to take care of and have not had time. And I wanted to ensure
that since this was his first time that he knew how to file the report
correctly.”
Tempest managed not to roll her eyes at the deflections as her new pilot
spoke up.
"Most of my previous postings either didn’t bother with the paperwork or
used different-slash-outdated formats.”
She made a note on the padd before her to make sure the reg was followed up
on in his training. Dyson's earlier diatribe and resignation were on the
padd as well, she deleted it. She wasn't going to let him get away that
easily and his being here was proof that it had been out of temper, because
that's what male pilots did with all that testosterone after their initial
failures, it had to be released somehow.
The answers to her second question missed the mark and followed the same
order.
"The Mk III performed as expected. Seems the Mako maintenance records need
to be looked at but there was no sign of issues when Snoopy took the shot.
I am sure the computer geeks will review Mandy's records to see if we
missed something, but the exercise was run by the book."
“I concur."
She looked at Corday who picked up after Montero.
"I’ve downloaded the data from Lucy, but I know what I saw. When I took
the shot it should not have caused any actual damage to the Mako. There
must have been some kind of flaw in its shield systems. I’m just thankful
we were able to pick up Duece before he was killed.”
“Just another day into outer space,” her attention turned toward Dyson who
had unknowingly hit the mark.
Her mug clapped down on the desk. "Skipping over the debrief to something
that isn't even on my agenda I see."
Her eyes bored into each one. "If you will remember, I've got not only
scans and the telemetry from your fighters but this as well." She pointed
at the hologram that had ended a couple of minutes ago and remained at the
end of the "loop" which was when she had terminated the exercise. "This
isn't an inquest on the incident with Deuce's Mako, it's about your
strategy, how it played out and where it went wrong. Now let's take the
question from the top again, maybe if I reword it a little. Where did this
exercise turn from a nice little mock battle simulation into a
free-for-all?"
(Reply: Montero, Corday and Dyson)
