(Earth - Pittsburgh - Primanti Brothers Bar and Grill - CSec/Tac Lt T’Mur - 1315)

T’Mur had received the invitation from Lt. Trei about joining her for lunch in a place called… Pittsburgh?. Apparently, she had heard of a dining establishment that she wanted to share with her and Sienna. She had asked Sienna about it, but she was busy speaking with her family, so she had decided to go on her own.

The Vulcan had never been to Sol prime before, although she had studied the world at great length, especially once she knew that the wedding was going to be on the planet. She knew that it was going to be different than Vulcan, but how different was surprising. There was such a variety of ecosystems on the planet. But when she got off the shuttle in Pittsburgh it was not the sight that she had expected.

This was a highly industrialized area. Apparently, it was where they mass-produced materials that went into manufacturing items such as starships and shuttles. She hadn’t really given too much consideration as to where the raw materials had been produced, but this was the harsh reality of it. And the hardest thing to hit her was the smell. She wrinkled her nose at it.

A stranger walked by and laughed when they saw her face. “Don’t worry about it sweetheart, you’ll get used to it. That’s what real work smells like.”

“Indeed,” T’Mur replied, “then I shall endeavor to redefine what I consider real work. Does that imply that my work is imaginary?”

The man walked away with a chuckle. She could hear him saying as he moved away, “Vulcans.”

T’Mur consulted the map on her PADD and found the Primanti Brothers Bar and Grill. It took her about fifteen minutes to find the place. She got turned around, twice, but finally found her way there. Pittsburgh was definitely a confusing and busy place.

When she walked into the restaurant she noted Trei and Ensign Pex sitting together, which seemed odd. She did not realize that the two of them had struck up a friendship. With a shrug, she moved over to the table and stopped at the edge.

Once again the smell struck her. She hadn’t really realized how sensitive to smells she was. It hadn’t really been like this before. She wondered if her treatment on Vulcan had altered her olfactory senses. There was a combination of odors, from cooked meat to human body odor. However, the establishment looked clean, if not as antiseptic as the Prancing Pony on the Illuminar, or the musty smell of the restaurants on Vulcan.

She nodded and greeted the pair, “Greetings Ariel Trei, Ensign Pex, I am gratified to be invited to your…,” she searched for the right word, “dive? Is that the correct term for such an establishment?”

(reply Pex. Trei)

“May I be seated?” she asked.

(reply Trei, Pex)
