Day: 1

(Earth -- Manhattan Residence -- New York, New York -- Quinna Solice --
1420 )

Quinna was traveling to Earth, alone. She had hoped that Michael would
join her but it seemed that the other lady in his life had gained his
attention again. Quinna climbed to steps of her brownstone in Manhattan.
There she opened the door and saw the empty house. This was an unplanned
stopped. It was dark and musty. She did indeed call ahead of her arrival,
but she was going to her Hampton home, not the one in the city.

She climbed the stairs to her bedroom. The creeks each step made echoed
through the house. She slowly squeaked open the door and a puff of dust
greeted her. She coughed a bit and then went to her closet. On the top
shelf was a box she had kept for her keepsakes. She pulled the box down
careful not to overdo it. She sat it on the bed where she climbed on. She
sat there crosslegged and reached for the box. She looked down at her
belly.

“So kiddo, we are at our home on Earth. You see, Mommy is descended from
very very old socialite money. Nothing is ever a monetary-free system.
Remember that. But in this box, is something special.” Quinna then opened
the box and reached inside. She pulled out a family tree. The rolled
document seemed to carry one forever. She looked for her name. She
pointed to an open spot under here. “And here is where you will go.”

Quinna reached in and pulled out a baby quilt. It was green, yellow blue,
and pink. “And this was my baby quilt. This will be yours too.” Quinna
put the items back in the box and carried it down the stairs. She fingered
they would be able to go through the box back on the Illuminar. She placed
a shipping tag on the box and put it by the door.

Quinna entered the study. There it has never changed but it was kept up.
She made note that the place should be clean and dusted every other week.
She found the book “Anslem” by Jake Sisko. It had been a personally signed
copy given to her grandfather. From there, they collected all of Jake
Sisko’s work. She took the book and put it in her bag. Quinna was started
by a knock at the door.

There at the door were Quinna's brother and his family. “We thought we
would find you here, sis. Especially since you had not checked in the
Hamptons yet.” Quinna’s niece jumped into her arms.

“Thank you for the gifts.” She said.

“Anything for my favorite niece,” Quinna replied. When her niece ran off
the play, Quinna received a small bundle in her arms. Her little nephew
cooed in his sleep.

“Oh, my,” Quinna’s sister-in-law said as she ran after the little girl
when she heard a crash.

“So, sis, How is life in space?”

“Good.”

“And Michael?”

“Michael Who?” Quinna said with a smile. “He is good. You will meet him
when you come to the Hamptons.”

“Yeah, about that, We are not going to make it.” Her brother broke the
news.

“What do you mean? We talked about this. We made plans. The Lobster
Boil, the Clam bake, the BBQ.” Quinna talked in hush tones so she would
not wake her nephew.

“We have been looking forward to you coming and meeting Michael and all,
but the inlaws book passages for a family vacation to Caspian Prime. It
was a surprise when Mason came home so…”

Quinna passed the sleeping baby back to his father. “No, No, I
understand. “You need to go and have a great time.”

“Really?”

“Absolutely, I will be back on Earth again,” Quinna said.

“You are the best.” He then called out, “Hey, Babe, Quinna is the best.”

Quinna’s sister-in-law came back into the room. “Hey, parents are
waiting. We have to go.” and just like that after 5 minutes. And they
were gone. Quinna never got to tell her brother about the baby. Perhaps
she should have been more upset, but she did not feel like getting overly
emotional about things. She was going to have a blast. All she needed was
some sun and Michael.

Moments later, Quinna was ready for the Hamptons. She sent her box and her
uniform to the Illuminar and she sent herself to Shadow Pines.

Quinna walked through the home. The staff opened up the house. It was
bright and airy. She walked out to the pool and looked over the railing to
the beach. It was not quite warm enough to swim but it was a gorgeous
sight.
