ILLUMINARRPG: (1-1605)- CO, Captain Sekal

Mission:  An Ending and A Beginning

(USS Illuminar- Deck 1- Ready Room – CO, Captain Sekal - 1605)

 Illuminar had entered the system of 40 Eridani A and was well on its way
to planetary orbit. In a little over 2 hours time he would be addressing
the Commander of planetary defense and orbital control. A shuttle from Mars
had docked ten minutes prior. He had personal business to attend tomorrow
but right now he was puzzling over the silence that had been coming from
StarFleet Command concerning their next mission.

That is, until the chime sounded. "Come."

Scott Matrix stood in the doorway, walked in and came to attention.

“Ensign Scott Matrix reporting sir.”

 Sekal sat back and considered him momentarily. Ensign Matrix had been
sucked into the Maelstrom with the rest of the crew that had been lost. At
some point during their year long journey he had been injured then
disappeared. Now the man stood before him claiming to have been on a leave
of absence. His head cocked slightly to the side in an obvious show of
interest before he spoke.

"Luma what is on record concerning Ensign Matrix's disappearance?"

=^= The Matrix is logged to have left the skin 218 days ago on personal
leave. Luma does not understand. This one remembers this one being lost
with the Rhyne skin. =^=

"As do I." His expressive eyebrow showed his surprise.

“My apologies Captain, personal matters have kept me away from my duties.”

Sekal noted he did not address his conversation with Luma, perhaps he
didn't even remember being lost with the Rhyne. Could the eddys of time
current anomalies within the vortex have caused a rift that propelled him
back in time and erased his memory of the incident? This was a question he
intended to pose to the ship's resident mad scientists.

 "Understandable Mr. Matrix, I trust your ... affairs have been
satisfactorily concluded. Engineering is currently over-staffed."

 “Thank you, sir, I would request any position you see fit. I am ready to
get back to duty.”

The Vulcan nodded. "I am transferring you to operations. Once Commander
Gregory is fit to return to duty you will report to him. In the meanwhile
you will take Beta shift with Commander Verin. Are there any questions?"

(Reply: Matrix)

"Your quarters on Deck 4 are still vacant and you may re-assume occupancy.
Is there anything else?"

(Reply: Matrix)

"Welcome back aboard Ensign."

"An eyebrow climbed his forehead as the officer left the Ready Room.
"Curious."

(Reply: Matrix iyw)
