Mission: An Ending and A Beginning

Day: 2

Stardate: 2446.03.17

(Vulcan - Capitol City - Merchant District - SFI- Lt. Michael Weston- 1400)

After all of his years in intelligence gathering he had learned that there are times to look for information, and there are times to let your brain percolate with the information you have already found. He had reached that percolation point. He had gotten hold of the data chip from Trill and had spent some time trying to decode it to make a copy. His brain hurt and he needed something else to do.

With Quinna occupied on Vulcan, and his position with Leeza in question he had decided that he needed to get away from the issues of the ship for a little while. Trying to make up with Leeza could wait, perhaps a gift would help. Trying to figure out his relationship with Dieter was probably going to take more than a gift. He still wasn’t sure where everything stood with that.

He changed out of his uniform and put on a a pair of lightweight, white cotton pants, and a longsleeved white cotton shirt. He had wrapped his neck in a cotton scarf to protect it from the panet’s suns and wandered through the Merchant Districts stores. He thought about T’Mur and how this must have been where she grew up. He smiled, imagining the little Vulcan girl running through the shops.

As he looked through the shops he really didn’t see anything that interested him. There had been a shop that had a display of ancient weapons, which were intriguing, but not what he was looking for. As he began to wander again a familiar voice reached his ears.

“Stop! Thief!” It was Sienna Williams-Verin who was running after a woman, and she was losing ground..

He looked over and locked eyes with the FO, and started to move towards her. "She stole my bag Mr. Weston. If you could retrieve it from her possession I would appreciate it."

He looked at the escaping woman and calculate her path. He saw a more direct route through a large water fountain. His steps splashed through the water as he ran across it. He put his foot up on the edge of the fountain and launched himself towards the thief.

His arms wrapped around her and he pulled her into him as he rolled onto the ground.

As they hit the ground the bag flew away from the pair. The woman managed to wrestle her way out of Michael’s grasp and disappeared into the crowd. Michael picked himself up and brushed himself off, shaking his head.

“I must be getting old,” he said, more to himself than anyone else.

Seeing the bag he picked it up and carried it over to an exhausted looking Verin. He handed the bag to her.

“Your bag, my lady,” he said with a bow.

(reply Verin)
