(USS Illuminar - Bridge - COps/3rd O Lieutenant Dieter Gregory - 0500)

"Computer, begin recording.  3rd officers log, Stardate 2446.02.08.  The 
Illuminar is on its way to Sigma Draconis VI to continue our 
investigation of the illicit weapons trafficking that has been our 
mission for the last few months.  We've encountered ship mounted 
weapons, and have a solution to neutralize them should we encounter them 
again. The personal weapons that we have heard about remain a mystery, 
as does the details that Michael Weston has about them.  He has 
ingratiated himself with the Captain, and is following up the attack by 
Ensign Sanchez.  I am sure his report will be most illuminating when it 
is finally completed.

Sigma Draconis VI is an interesting planet from all database records. 
First explored by Captain James T Kirk, where he found two groups, one 
living on the surface of an ice planet, the other living underground. It 
was an advanced technology and by the end of his visit, the two groups 
had started to integrate.  While not part of the Federation, and 
relatively secretive, several members of the species have entered Star 
Fleet and served with distinction.

Why we would be going there, and what its connection to these weapons 
is, I am not sure.  However we'll find out soon enough.  Now that we are 
under warp, I plan to have several training exercises with the gamma 
shift to continue to build our relationships and mutual understanding 
and support.  So far, we have learned a lot from each other and are 
bonding as a team.

On a separate note, I have completed my most recent psychological 
fitness report, and did my best to keep my more snarky comments to 
myself.  I am not sure why the Captain ordered the reports, but it is 
his prerogative.  There still remains concern over possible sleepers on 
the ship who may wish the Captain harm.  Again, perhaps more light will 
be shed on this issue soon."
