Mission: A Cure Delayed

Day: 3

Stardate: 2445.10.27

(Vulcan - ShiKahr- Luxury Suites- Lobby Café- Davelahn – 1916)

Davelahn had been a merchant for a better part of his life. He could sense the change. He also knew when someone was being untruthful. Truth was in the eye of the deliverer. It is truth if one can believe it to be true. He knew that this doctor was lying, and she believed she was lying, but for what purpose. After all, she herself had told him she had only been to the medical center.

“I would have to agree that a holistic approach to medicine is often superior to benefits of modern science,” Devalahn said. “However, the old ways and beliefs are not always the best. We often have to make way for the new ways, don’t your agree? Yet was cannot, how do humans put it, throw out the baby with the bathwater.”

He looked off, his mind wandering toothed thoughts for a moment. Quinn’s voice brought hime from his mental wanderings.

“So tell me,” she said, “what it the one thing I must do while I am here?”

He looked at her intently, not wanting to press her on the truth. Her lie spoke volumes. She was a doctor, and dishonesty did not look good on her. Still, he nodded.

“Well that is a question,” he said, and sat up tall. “It depends on your interests. There are cultural centers, as well various distractions and displays. However,” he paused for a moment, “I am ever the merchant so I would be remiss to not that there is a bizarre here in ShiKahr is, perhaps, one of the most diverse shopping experiences on Vulcan. Before you say that it sounds as a boast, first let me say that I am not a merchant at the bizarre. However I did cross the Forge ignorer to attend the bizarre. That is my “mission” as I stated before. I have a client looking for a unique item that I may find at the bizarre.”

He paused for a moment, then cocked his head to the right, “If you like, I would be pleased to guide you through the bizarre. Not all of the merchants there are Vulcan, and some are… less than honest with their wares. Perhaps you have a companion that would enjoy it as well. I did notice another female in your group as you arrived. In today’s time a group of Starfleet officers arriving on Vulcan can get noticed.”
