“Is she feeling the effects.  Will she achieve a Rem Sleep.  I have to
admit, I did read about the procedure, but this extent was not in my
readings.”

Felicity shook her head at the first question. "Initial and all subsequent
studies have shown that the patient while sedated is quite unaware of what
is happening. Her mind will sleep and dream during the procedure as normal.
Her brain is not being shut down but the processes it controls are being
taken over so that her neural network can be rebuilt."

 “So where will I be staying?  I do not feel comfortable leaving T’Mur here
alone.”

Felicity smiled. "As her attending physician you have some perks. Come with
me."

She led the way out of the treatment suite and passed the Captain who was
standing at the viewing window looking in. He turned his head to look at
her as she did so.

"I presume from the efficiency of the process that all is in order."

"Quite so Captain. You will have your officer back in 13 days. Feel free to
stop by and check on her whenever you like."

He nodded and turned back to the window with hands cupped at the small of
his back as the women passed him.

Felicity led the Doctor to the third door down the hall to the right and
passed through it. Inside was a plush couch, a desk with monitor and chair
and a replicator to the right of the desk.

"Lights on."

The chamber was lit showing the spartan space that had very little beside
the aforementioned items and a small table beside the couch.

Felicity walked to the desk and keyed on the monitor then inputted her
codes and accessed the data for treatment suite 2.

"As you can see while in this office you can monitor her vital signs
continuously. The graphic in the upper right hand corner is showing the
time to the end of process. Currently it is setting up the transference of
the involuntary functions which will be ready in another 8 minutes. Feel
free to use this spare office as much as you like. The couch is soft and
good for napping if you have a mind. Additionally is there is something on
the ship you'd like to monitor I can arrange to have it routed here. Is
there anything else I can do for you?"

"I'm going back now to watch over the start of the transfer and make sure
it goes smoothly. You are free to move about as you wish. Any questions
that arise can be presented to myself or any others in attendance and if
there are any unexpected issues you will of course be notified."
