(Vulcan - ShiKahr- Luxury Suites- Lobby Café- CMO Lt. Quinna Solice – 1909)



“Please excuse the intrusion,” he said politely, “but I noticed that you
did not seem to be interested in your reading material. Would you prefer a
companion instead?”



Quinna looked at the book and then put it down in her lap, “Yes, I would.
I just can't seem to get into the story.”  She motioned for the stranger to
have a seat in the adjacent chair indicating he was welcomed to join her.



“My name is Davelahn,” the Vulcan offered. “I am a … merchant here in
ShiKahr for a, you would most likely call it a mission. May I inquire to
your name?”



“I am Quinna.”  Quinna almost extended her hand but she slid it back as
protocol came to her.



He bowed his head slightly and half-closed his eyes.  “It is a pleasure to
make your acquaintance.  Are you enjoying your stay on Vulcan so far?”



Quinna answered back in Vulcan.  She had taken the time to learn the
language so she would not have to rely on her universal translator, “Ni
irak, wuh sadvun t' t'nash-veh sightseeing vinan-tor nash hotel heh wuh
hasuk svitan. Tonk'peh yi i am la' na' ar'kadan, ri wuh vacation.”
(Translation:
So far, the extent of my sightseeing includes this hotel and the medical
center.  But then I am here for work, not a vacation.)

“Sorry, I feel it is important to learn a bit of the language of the
culture in which I am a guest.”  Quinna adjusted herself, “So you say you
are a merchant or did you say you were on a mission?  Sounds interesting.”
