ILLUMINARRPG: (4- 2100)- Chief of Security Lt jr Keung Lee

Day: 4

Stardate: 2445.10.28

(Illuminar  - Deck 6 - Fitness Suite    Chief of Security Lt jg Keung Lee- 2100 hrs)

Keung Lee walked into the Fitness Suite at about 2100 hrs for his daily exercise routine after finishing his supper. The Fitness Suite was usually fairly quiet at this time of the evening. So he was quite surprise to see one of his security officers Ensign Jacob Roberts, alone in the midst of a bench press set. Keung estimated that he had just over 300 lbs on the bar. Dropping his kitbag, he walked over to Roberts

Lee was standing over Robert’s head when he said, "You know you shouldn't do that without a spot." Roberts arms were shaking as he breathed out and pushed the bar up once more.

Roberts replied through clenched teeth, "Thanks. Chief, but I'm a big boy."


Lee looked for a bench nearby and sat down. Roberts finished his set and Keung stepped up to help him to set the bar on its stand. Roberts pushed himself up on the bench and grabbed up his towel. The ensign rubbed the sweat from his face as he stood and motioned for Keung to lay down for a set.
The ensign remained silent through out the set, when Lee set the bar down .Roberts l asked, "Mind if I do another while I'm still warm?"

"Not at all." Lee heaved himself up from the bench and the two men spent a few quiet moments resetting the weights. They added another 50 pounds to the bar bringing the press up to 380.

Robert slay out under the bar, he lifted it and did a testing rep before dropping the bar back down on the hook. His face hadn't even creased with the strain Lee noted.

"Put another fifty on." Roberts brown eyes were narrowed with a piercing glare on the bar.

Lee now looked with surprise at the man. "Really? That'll make it 430 lbs on the bar." The fellow was asking for punishment. .

Roberts simply said, "Just do it..chief."

Keung sighed reluctantly but put the weight on and watched the ensign do five reps then sets the bar down panting heavily. Impressive! It might be worth setting up a league table of weight lifters. Pity no one bets for money these days! "I thought that would be too much. You alright?" said Keung feeling concerned, Roberts was visibly trembling.

Roberts sat up flexing his hands into fists as he looked at Keung, "I'm Fine. Put another fifty on."

"What?" said a startled Keung.

"Felt like nothing, barely getting a burn."  Roberts his tone cold as he laid down again.

"Alright," said Keung, who was now sceptical about Robert’s ability to lift more weights.

He added the weight and then watched him do one rep then sets the bar down with a clang. There was barely even a trickle of sweat on the ensign’s  brow. By now, any idea Keung had had of starting his own usual routine was thrown out of the window. He was fascinated by ensign and a little concerned.

"No add a hundred," said Iceman pointing to the weights racks by the wall.
Roberts pushed the bar up and did a complete set of fifty before setting it down. His was breathing hard, but he was still barely sweating. His workout clothes seemed to have grown tighter around his six foot frame. He sat up and panted for several moments an angry scowl on his face then glanced over at the bar and seemed to come back to himself.

He frowned at the bar full of weights. "How much was that?"

"580," replied Lee after counting up the weights. He couldn't hide the hint of amazement in his voice.

“That’s amazing.” Keung was already thinking that he would give the Klingons a run for their..er.. money.  Maybe he ought to make Roberts one of the instructors “What's your personal best?"

"400." Dawning amazement and disbelief ran through the ensign’s voice.
