Mission: A Cure Delayed
Day: 3
Stardate: 2445.10.27
(Vulcan - ShiKahr- Nivar Institute - Exam Room 1- Dr.Felicity Tate- 1525)
Felicity's PADD dinged and a prompt came up showing that the exam course
was complete, she stepped to the patient who had been showing signs of
agitation and erratic movements denoting discomfort and perhaps
musculature that had been going numb. Her voice was soft as she did so.
"I'm sorry for the discomfort but you can move now. It will only take a
moment to remove the sensors."
(Reply: T'Mur)
Dr. Tate defty removed and set them on a tray beside the table with a muted
clink. The gel muffled much of the noise but the sharp sound of metal
striking metal couldn't be completely masked. Four sensors for the spine
and two each for each extremity found their place then the remnants of the
gel were scrubbed lightly from her skin with a mild detergent. "Now if you
wouldn't mind lying on your back please?"
(Reply: T'Mur)
At the command Dr. Tate initiated on her PADD a scanner descended from the
ceiling until it was about 12 inches from T'Mu's face. "I'm going to need
you to hold completely still for just a moment while your synaptic patterns
are mapped. Once this procedure is completed I'm cutting you loose for the
day after I set your time for integration into the treatment suite tomorrow
and ask you some questions. Before we start how are you feeling?"
(Reply: T'Mur)
"Because I'm a doctor and I'm concerned with the well being of my patient."
Felicity replied with a small smile. "That's a failing of us emotional
species as I'm sure you are aware. The electromagnetic field won't cause
any discomfort or disorientation during the test but you should take a
moment to stabilize before getting up after it is concluded in case of any
residual effects. Some vertigo has been noted in the past in the immediate
aftermath so I want you to lay still for a couple of minutes before getting
up. Agreed?" Vulcans could be extremely stubborn, especially if they
believed they were being forced into a course of action.
(Reply: T'Mur)
Once she was completely settled the physician activated the unit. There
was a muted hum from the unit. Felicity watched the readings on her PADD
carefully until the cycle was complete. "Good, thank you for your patience.
Doctor Solice and I are going to step outside for a moment while you relax.
If you have any issues in getting up just buzz me, the button on your right
will get me back in quickly. If there is no disorientation you can get up
and get dressed. After you are done step outside and we will go to my
office for that little talk."
(Reply: T'Mur)
