Mission: A Cure Delayed
Day: 3
Stardate: 2445.10.27
(Vulcan - ShiKahr- Nivar Institute - Exam Room 1- Dr.Felicity Tate- 1503)
Felicity moved to where Dr. Solice was observing. "It will take about
twenty minutes for an exhaustive scan. Some questions if you don't mind
since you are her attending physician." She waited for her nod. "The Vulcan
healer first assigned to her case requisitioned a cortical stimulator for
her use. In your informed opinion has she been using it with regularity?
Three times a day was noted on the original orders."
(Reply: Quinna)
Felicity nodded. "I understand, all we can go on is what we are told. Have
you noticed a gradual deterioration or was there a sudden spike?"
(Reply: Quinna)
She made some notes on her padd. "And your analysis of what caused it
please."
(Reply: Quinna)
Felicity added that then motioned the doctor to follow her to the other
side of the exam room. With her voice lowered and her back turned to T'Mur
so as not to be overheard she spoke. "I've talked with that Vulcan healer
doctor and I will be honest with you, I found his manner to be frustrating
to say the least. His argument against assigning the patient to the
Institute for neural regeneration was circular and and illogical. At this
point I don't know whether he was attempting to cover something up or
acting with bias in this case."
(Reply: Quinna)
"That's the maddening part." Felicity turned her head to make sure T'Mur
was still stationary on the exam table. "I've talked with my fellow
director who is a Vulcan to attempt to understand the situation better.
Pa'nar syndrome carries with it some taboos in Vulcan culture which is more
notable in outlying areas like the one where she was treated. You would
think a logical race would have overcome such stigmas but there have been
attempts in the past to bury cases like this. And I can well imagine the
suffering it caused."
