(USS Illuminar – Engineering - EO Ensign Scott Matrix - 0530)

 

Scott had never been on Vulcan but was anxious to visit. He’d hoped he would get an opportunity to at least see her from orbit, not to mention stepping foot on the one of the most historical planets in the Federation. For now, he was stuck in engineering processing maintenance upgrades to the various systems. 

 

Maybe he could get Abbie to beam down with him to see the much talked about botanical gardens? Better yet, maybe visit the T’Karath Sanctuary or even the L-langon Mountains. It didn’t matter what, he just wanted to see something of the famous planet and learn something about its people. He may never get another opportunity.


A few moments passed and the computer indicated that upgrade A-01 was completed and a level five diagnostic had begun. “Computer, proceed to the next upgrade.” Ordered Scott. The computer acknowledged the order and displayed the preparation matrix for the major work to be done. It would take the secondary computer core several minutes to run the preparatory systems checks, shutdown the affected systems and start the uploading the new algorithms. 

 

In the meantime, Scott punched up the database on Vulcan on the secondary display and began to plan his possible visit.
