Is it necessary for me to post. I can post but if the situation is controlled for now, do I need to.

Sienna nodded as Trei came onto the bridge and indicated the third seat, the one that the counselor or diplomat usually took on the bridge. Her eyes were on the viewscreen, narrowed as she watched the distance quickly diminish. “Fire as soon as we are in range. Lt. Greywolf, make sure that we evade their hits. I don’t trust that EMP with Luma.”
Sienna glanced over towards the Engineering station, questioning Mr. Gregory silently for information.
Sienna gave Trei a penetrating look ::Inside the ready room is a shard of the aneleurian crystal. If necessary, grab it and get to the primary computer core as quickly and stealthily as you can. Stick the crystal into the interface device and get Luma into it and -hide her-.:: Sienna was giving the order now, telepathically, so as to not upset the morale of the crew on the bridge. Plan for the worst, hope that it was not needed.

Marauders could not get a hold of Luma. And thankfully most of the crew aboard saw her as some form of an advanced AI not what she really was.
Gregory’s eyes were glued to the engineering boards. “Ma’am, recommend that you release Luma to defend against any missiles.”
“Luma knows what to do.” Sienna spoke confidently. A confidence that she didn’t quite believe.
Reviewing the data, he tapped the console, “Ms. T’Mur, their shields are still down. Think you can get a quick shot at that location?” he called. “It looks like they are running their EPS grids close to the surface. It might take out one ship, even the odds.”
T’Mur nodded, as she watched the distance close, “We will be in range in 8 seconds.”
Putting her hand on the panel she focused her thoughts, ::Luma, how long would it take to realign the ventral phaser strip to fire the dark matter phasers?::
::17.9 seconds.:: Luma replied swiftly.
::Start the alignment. Thank you my friend.::
A wordless burst of joy from Luma as she followed the orders. The ship suddenly veered to the left, hard enough that the inertial dampeners had stuttered before catching up. On the viewscreen there was a wave of lime green energy that barely missed the Illuminar.
If they could take out one of the fighters, this became a three body problem, with the freighter as the center of mass. He doubted the pirates captain had studied orbital mechanics in pirate school. It reduced the complexity, and they could lay a trap with photon torpedoes for the location of the second ship, and that would leave one. Odds suddenly evened, if not in the Illuminar’s favor.
“Ma’am,” he called out, “If T’Mur takes out that ship, it’s a three body problem. We can estimate a volume where the ships will go and lay a spread of torpedoes in that area.”
“Ensign T’Mur, please feel free to even the odds.” Sienna smiled lightly, tasting adrenaline in the back of her mouth.
Tapping the comm, “Engineering is that probe ready. We could use a little surprise any time now.” (Reply: Matrix)
The marauders' ships came into range and T’Mur tapped the key to fire a series of phaser shots from the dorsal array. They were direct hits to the ship closest to them.
“Update.” Sienna barked as the ship slid under returning fire from the ship on the starboard side.
Tempest hit the maneuvering thrusters on the underside of the main hull as the fire missed. Illuminar leapt upward as she increased impulse power which she had dropped to one quarter for greater maneuverability. The ship evaded the burst from the next ship which went low. She then swung the bow into line with the targeted marauder ship as the phasers fired. The enemy ship, struck thrice began an unpowered yaw to port. Faerie fire flickered along its hull as its electronic systems fried. It was an unpowered hulk and its occupants would be scrambling for lifeboats if they had any.
She then spun the ship to a starboard yaw which exposed that enemy to the ventral phasers as she decreased impulse back to one quarter. Illuminar responded with a crisp turn along its axis though its momentum continued to carry it in a slide before it leaped toward the next target.
The second ship fired a spread of slow moving missiles which blanketed their path.
T’Mur continued her barrage of phaser fire on the remaining two functioning ships. Her defensive display saw the wave of missiles heading towards them. She really didn’t know much about the dark matter weapons but what she had found was that they would not be very effective against the shields of the marauders’ ships. However, those missiles were not shielded.
She brought up the array controls and watched as the ventral strip came on line. Then she fired them. A wave of energy swept down the corridor of missiles in their way. As the wave and missiles met the missiles exploded.
Sight was lost of the central ship during the wave of energy and explosions, another set of 3 missiles was incoming from the starboard side. Tempest increased the impulse engines to full power and Illuminar swept through the debris of the first wave which had been utterly destroyed. The second wave of missiles had been left behind and one of them detonated near the ship they had put out of action. The Marauder was turned into a cloud of debris.
The ship that had fired the first volley seemed to have disappeared, no doubt using the destruction of its missiles as a screen for a tactical maneuver.
