Just to be clear here since an intimation has already been made.

Sekal did NOT just consider a forced telepathic reading. Sometimes you have
to look closely at what I write.

What he DID just consider is the possibility of an empathic reading. We
used it at Bajor on Dean Vedek Horavei... twice. Once by Alaya Ravenstone
(now Hammons) and once by Ariel Trei. And I remember very vividly Picard
and Deanna Troi conspiring on it a number of times on TNG.

"Captain I'm reading a great deal of stress coming from that individual."

That is an empathic reading. Sekal will and would not consider resorting to
mind rape to get the information he wants, that's mirror universe stuff.
