(Cheron CX-01- Interior - CMO Lt. SG Heinrich Kruze- 1448)
After a half hour of sitting silently, fidgeting with his thumbs, trying to think about anything but his time in Toronto, Heinrich brought himself back to attention when he noticed Ethan was discussing the question he had asked earlier. What’s the plan to deal with the radiation leak?
" I…I can fix the ventilation system,” Ethan said, "but somebody needs to secure the miners and possibly assess any injuries. " He looked at Heinrich.
“That’s what I’m here for.” Heinrich said. He could tell Ethan was doing his best to direct traffic while keeping his composure. The plan he was proposing was not without its dangers, but given the situation there weren’t any other good options. In a strange way Heinrich was glad to see Ethan was troubled. It meant he could use his bedside manner to calm things down, while casting aside his own anxieties.
"Our options are limited.” Ethan said, "In a perfect world we wouldn't have to do this, but the EV suits onboard have a Polarix trajectory guidance computer built in. We set the target and the suit does the rest." Ethan pointed to the screen.
"If we land here we can enter through this hatch, the magnetized construction of the Ev suits will keep us grounded.”
“I’ll pretend I understood that.” Heinrich said with a chuckle.
"You and Lieutenant Hammerfield get to the miners, I'll repair the ventilation system and clear the corridor. Once it's safe, make your way to the airlock Lieutenant Frost beams you guys over.
I'll repel through the ventilation system as fast as I can and make my way down to the airlock level then beam over after you all.”
“Sounds like a plan.” Heinrich said. “We got this. I’ve been through worse.”
(Reply any)
He realized that with Ethan, Hammerfield, and himself beaming down that left Ewan on the Cheron alone with Trinity. “You better be ready when we get back,” he told Ewan. “I’m going to need your expertise.”
(Reply Ewan)
