Mission: Space was cool before it mattered

(USS Exeter - Bridge - Lieutenant Jg Greta Smith - 0902)


After being in the conn chair for an hour, Greta had calmed her nerves at
being at the helm. For a simple study mission there wasn't much for the
flight ops to do other than make minor changes to the course or position
every so often.


Thankfully, nothing had caused any issues just yet and she had time to
gather her thoughts. The gossip on the ship had been kind so far, currently
it was focused on the arrival of the ex-FO Commander Bracken. Greta smiled,
the woman had saved her life during the incident with the Empress and her
girlfriend had been by her side when things had gone down so they both held
a special place in her heart.


Although she also knew that there was some gossip surrounding the First
Officer also. Commander Jones had been a decent first officer, she thought
to herself but she hadn’t had a lot of contact with him in order to form a
direct opinion.


Sighing, Greta placed her hands on her console and tapped her fingers,
waiting for something to happen.
