Mission: Space was cool before it mattered

Day: 1

Stardate: 2446.04.25

(USS Exeter - Shooting Range - ACTO, Lt. JG Troy McCoy - 0730) Troy loved
the shooting range, it was one of his favorite things. There was something
about testing his mettle, his hands, his concentration, his vision, that
just filled him with energy. How much sharper, clearer, quicker, could he
be on the draw. It is probably why the ole gunslinger from Calgary,
Alberta, Canada got the nickname Tex.

What he didn't like about the shooting range was giving assessments,
because it meant that he wasn't getting to shoot, but as the ACTO, it was
part of his job.

"Good morning Ensign." Troy said with a smile as Ensign Harmon walked in.
"Are you ready for your assessment?"

(Reply Harmon) Troy had been working through the whole crew to evaluate
their shooting expertise for potential away team roles. Excluded from the
list were Medical staff, Counseling staff and civilians. Of course even by
removing all of those, he had still only made it to the H's. "Today should
be just an easy day. I've set up a course with some moving targets, no one
will be shooting at you, and you will stay behind the counter while the
targets fly around across the back wall. You can choose from three
different types, phaser rifle, and the dust buster style phaser or a pistol
style phaser. Whichever one is more comfortable for you. Any questions
before we start?" (repy Harmon) (reply Harmon) (posted by Will)
