"Please come in and have a seat," said Captain Williams.

"Yes, sir." Roger sat down.

The next words from the captain were a blur as he gave Roger a promotion.

"Congratulations, Ensign Harmon, you earned it."

Still in a daze, Roger stood and offered a handshake. He was shocked to earn a bump in rank so soon.

"Thank you, Captain."
