“I…” she sighed. “I’m not great with this kind of thing, mum and dad never
really expressed that kind of thing, they weren’t unemotional, but…well,
you know.” She shifted on the cushion. “I feel complete around you, like
there was a part of me that i didn’t know was missing; I think about you
all the time, and when I’m alone, I just find myself imagining being held
by you and it makes my heart happy. I’m not great at love, but I want to
understand it, want to feel it, and I want it to be you that shows me.” She
blushed, her face going almost the same colour as her hair.





He smiled.

" I'm glad we feel the same way, I'm not good with feelings either, I don't
understand them, never had the chance. I just feel like this, what we have
is a good thing. "





“You know, I was talking to an academy buddy a couple of weeks ago, wanted
some tech advice, anyway, she’s had a string of bad dates, but asked me how
my love life was, expecting I think to be made to feel better by the fact
that I probably wasn’t seeing anyone. She always was that type. Anyway, I
mentioned you. I found myself talking about you, and it made me realise how
I’m falling for you. She said that I could do better, that I could go to
any bar or beach and have the pick. I said that I have got my pick. I’m a
pilot, I don’t need macho, I don’t need a protector, I want someone who
gets me and loves me for who and what I am, not some trophy. And that’s why
I’m falling deep for you.” Trinity said.


 " Better ? I mean sure you could go for the guy with a square jaw and abs
like duranium plating, but you think those muscular apes are gonna
effortlessly rewire your replicator to give you over a thousand more
options and keep your hot showers running? I think not." Ethan smiled and
laughed.

" Seriously though, trophies are meant to be sat on mantles. Sure they look
nice, but they have nothing on the loser girl from a backwater world "
Ethan said, mentioning how she described herself on her first date.

" I can go, if you want. You rock the bags under the eyes look better than
anyone, but you need some rest. There's a broadcast in an hour from Utopia
Planitia about the next generation of Neural linked attacked fighters. I
was thinking about watching it. " Ethan said to her. Even tired with her
hair a mess she was still beautiful to him.
