(Exeter - Holosuite 7 - Sparring hologram, Gram -1053)
"We'll see." Keira said before thrusting the mostly bladed end right to
Gram's chest.
Stepping back , Gram swung his weapon counterclockwise in reference to its
own body and deflected the attack and then drove a shoulder into her chest.
In a flash Keira ended up on her back looking at a laser scarred stone
ceiling, with the wind knocked out of her lungs. "Ow, what the..." was all
she managed to get out with her first breath.
" I am able to defend myself, I'm not one of those holograms that just
stands there and let's beat up on them." Gram said, stepping back and
readied himself to defend against another attack.
"Thanks, smartass, I can see that very clearly now." Keira said, reacting
mostly as she would with Ravok. She performed a kip-up, bringing herself to
her feet in an instant. "I'll try to remember that."
" Sure you're ready? " Gram asked with a familiar smirk.
"You know me, I'm not giving up." She said with determination, bringing the
weapon up to a diagonal stance, blade up, hook down.
Gram nodded for her to proceed, his holomatrix hard at work analyzing her
stance.
Keira nodded and pressed a different attack. Probing slash with the blade
followed by a reach with the hook, trying for an early disarm.
Gram brought his weapon vertical to its body and swept her disarming
attempt away. Then followed with a downward strike from the hook end of the
weapons.
She quickly brought up her own weapon blocking his riposte and his
counterstroke with two quick movements.
Gram used the second movement of her attack, which naturally was the
weakest of the attempts , as the opportunity to lock her weapon into its
own weapon and forcefully dislodged it from her hands.
She watched her weapon go flying out of her grasp off to the side. Not
wanting to leave any advantage open she charged forward before he could
bring the weapon back to ready. She had both of her hands on the weapon
before he brought it back to ready.
Gram gripped it's weapon tighter in an attempt to break it from her grasp.
"Quite a pickle, huh?" Keira said with a grin.
" Not really …" Gram responded with a smile and a subtle shrug. Then
quickly pushed towards her and used its right foot in combination with its
forward momentum to sweep her feet out from under her. Gram followed her
down to the ground and used the bat’leth to pin her down across her chest.
" I do have a beginner setting. Maybe we should start there." Gram said
jokingly. Ravok had mentioned in his personal logs that he often held back
against Keira in their bat'leth sparring sessions and even made direct
mentions of Keira's flaws in her technique. Ravok never dared to exploit
them, but Gram was a sparring program.
