Mission: Space Was Cool Before It Mattered

 

Day: 2

 

Stardate: 2446.04.26

 

 

(Exeter – CTO Office – CTO – Lieutenant – Ire Williams – 1345)

 

Ire dropped heavily into his chair and sigheddeeply. The day was going okay no one had died yet and the ship was still underTrips command. His illation from the night before had slowly evaporated as theday went on. It was not that he regretted what had happened it was just workhad squashed it flat for the time being. He looked at his desk and looked atthe pictures sitting on it. He smiled at the one of Greta as well as the one ofhis happy family. He picked up the last one of him, Trip and Ravok standing infront of the Peregrine fighter with massive cheesy grins plastered over theirfaces. 

 

~How young we all looked~

 

He looked at Ravok and sighed.

 

“You know make if you have not died you would stillbe here, and I would be zooming around in fighters.”

 

He felt a pang of guilt before carrying on.

 

“How did you do it, transfer from fighters totactical.”

 

He sighed.

 

“How did you cope with the responsibility ofkeeping every one safe. I mean if I mess up, I could get everyone killed orworse”

 

He ran a hand through his hair.

 

“By the prophets this was so much easier when I flew.I mean I had the squadron to worry about but when flew it was just me and myflight officer. Things seemed less complicated”

 

His eyes moved to Trip and a thought came to him.

 

“At least I can keep the skipper family safe.”

 

He accessed the ships red alert duty stations andplaced a security officer to guard Trips children and the nanny. 

 

“At least they will be protected or taken to thenearest escape pod whichever is needed.”

 

 He lookedagain at Ravok.

 

“Wish I had your ability mate. I know you had yourdemons you crazy Romulan we all do but how did you make it look so easy.”

 

He nodded to his self as he placed the pictureback on the table.
